  1. Q1. (Romans 5:1-2) According to verses 1-2, faith is a key to salvation. For Abraham (4:3), what was the relationship between faith and justification? For us (5:1-2), what is the relationship between faith and justification? In your own words, what does it mean to be justified? I am justified, found innocent before God because, I believe what God said and did. I believe in the God of Abraham, that God raised up Yeshua our Lord from the dead; Understanding the reason He raised Him up was, the perfect work Yeshua did on the cross. My "faith" my "confidence" is found only in Father God and my Lord Yeshua.
  2. Q1. What was the responsibility of the next of kin to someone in his family who was in trouble? If a kin was in trouble it was the responsibility of the Kinsmen to help that person. How did Jesus play the role of Kinsman-Redeemer for us? Mankind was in great trouble, they were facing death, they were estranged from God, they needed help, they needed a kinsmen redeemer. Yeshua, God's Son came to redeem mankind from the trouble they found themselves in. What does this say about God's love? What does this say about our worth? This is a beautiful love story, wrapped in a gift sent from God to mankind, a treasure of great worth, a valuable gift of life, where there was death, a gift of reconciliation to God Almighty; Love is God's gift, seen in His Redeemer for mankind, Yeshua. What makes it so valuable is not seen in our worth, but seen in the Redeemer's worth. Worthy is the Lamb slain for mankind, it makes me feel very worthy to God, and with that worth comes great responsibility to God, to be seen in living a life of Thankfulness.
  3. Q1. Why was God's willingness to forgive essential to Israel's survival in the wilderness? Moses found favor in God's eye, therefore God considered Israel as a nation unto God. God made a promise to Moses that His presence would go with them. Exo 33:19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy Exo 34:5 And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. Exo 34:6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Yahweh declared, it was His own will that He would forgive Israel, seen in His grace and mercy. God made a covenant with Israel, His first born that He would Exo 34:10 And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.
  4. Q2. How was the intimate way that Jesus taught his disciples about God as "Abba" and "Father" different from the Jews' understanding of God as Father? Jesus taught his disciples, the God of Israel has absolute authority, He is holy and deserves all respect. Jesus taught them, they can - through obedience to God and His authority, find an intimate relationship with the Father, and may call Him Abba Father. How does God as Abba influence your relationship with him? Abba does not in anyway take away from who He is, Father God; But Jesus teaching has influenced me, I can have a personal relationship with the Father, by loving Him, and looking to Him as my protector; Therefore I find I love His Word, His commands, and I desire to please Him, as a child learning to lean on their Father for direction, therefore I can call Him Abba Father.
  5. Q4. (Psalm 121). What does it mean that God is our Keeper. V4 He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade at your right hand. Yahweh is Israel's KEEPER, and He never slumbers nor sleeps takes me to the reason , as seen in Isa 62:1 For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. Isa 62:6 I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, Isa 62:7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till He make Jerusalem a praise in the earth. The KEEPER of Israel tells us to keep not silent, pray without ceasing until Zion be established, and the world saved. In what ways does he "keep" or "guard" us? The KEEPER of Israel, is also my KEEPER, thanks to the Lamb of God of whom I am married to. I too am of the seed of Abraham. God continues to Keep me by giving to me His word, it is a lamp unto me, showing me the right way, keeping me from danger. He has given to me His Holy Spirit, to teach me the KEEPER'S ways. He has given to me a believer an angel to protect me. He has given to me Armour to put on to protect me from the enemy, and He has opened a way for me to come into His throne room at any time I desire to come, and it is there I feel safe, well kept, protected, safe in the arms of God Almighty.
  6. Q3. In what ways is God a Rock in the above verses. Rock of Israel, He is the Rock, perfect, just, Rock of refuge, strong fortress to save, leads and guides, Father, God, Rock of my Saviour, upright, higher than I, no wickedness in Him, eternal rock, there is no other rock. What functions does a rock perform in Palestine? The God of Israel, is the Rock of Israel. Palestine, Canaan, is the land the Rock of Israel promised to Abraham and his descendants. Gen 17:8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. He is their Rock, their Fortress, and He will perform what He said He would do, for His name is there in Jerusalem. He is their Rock.
  7. Q2. (Psalm 3:3) In what ways is God a shield? More ways than I can ever say. However, He has been my shield, protected me from harm many times, and I must say, many more times that I will never know of. I do think that God at times has not been my protection, because of my disobedience to Him, my lack of trust in Him, but as I study to show my self approved, I am dwelling, set my roots where I can grow in Him, and it feels so good to be under His shield. The shield is one of the armour we are to put on daily, for the darts will be coming, we must be prepared for battle. We must put the SHIELD on. In what ways is he our glory? God the Father is the glory of Christ, He raised Him from the dead, set Him at His right hand, He crowned him with glory and honour; Rev 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. We have the glory of God living in us because of the Lamb of God, who was under the shield of the Father, He had to fight the battle to win Salvation for mankind; God raised Him from the dead, that we may be clothed with His Glory, the glory of the Son. He is also our glory, those who are called to eternal glory with Him. In what ways is he "the lifter up of my head"? When I am in times of trouble and sorrow, my head is not lifted high, it hangs low with the weight of distress upon it, however, God is the One who is able to lift up my head, to give peace and joy when there is none. Keep on trusting in Him, the King over all, go to Him and He will lift you up. What does this teach us about God? About ourselves? It teaches me, that I am nothing without God Almighty in my life.
  8. Q1. (Psalm 91) What is the protected one required to do in times of danger (verses 1-2, 9). To abide, settle down in the place of the most High, for there one will find protection. The protected one is also to "SPEAK" of the wonders of the LORD, "speak" of our trust in His protection over us. We must remember, our battle is with Powers, Principalities, rulers of this world, Satan, but because we have the Holy Spirit, we can go forth to fight the battles, for we are under God's protection, protection from the enemy, who wants to steal our "faith" and our "trust" in the King, the LORD of Host is He. They can kill the body, but they cannot kill our soul, as long as we stay, abide with God in His dwelling place. What metaphors are used of God's protection in this psalm? Shadow, shade - Refuge, shelter - Fortress, strong place - Habitation, tabernacle, temple.
  9. Q2. What are the personal implications of Yahweh being your King and of Jesus being the Messiah sent from God? The personal implications are, because the Messiah, our Bridegroom, has made it possible for us to serve God, the King over all, the first and most important personal implication is for us to SEEK His Kingdom and His righteousness first. Because He is King, He has control over all things, He can give to us what we need; But we must always seek His will first for our lives, why? because He knows what is best for us. What are the advantages of being the subject of Yahweh as King? The greatest advantage is, He who is King over all the nations, He is my King, and He is in control of my life; that is a great advantage and a great honor; However, I must always remember, because He is the great King, He deserves to be worshipped, He is a righteous God and King, and for me to worship Him, I must strive to live a life of faith, of righteousness. What does it mean for you to submit to the King on an everyday basis? My walk with the great King, who sits on the throne of my life, is a daily walk. I submit to Him, the first reason being, I have great respect and love for who He is, He is the great King, and can you imagine, He wants what is best for me. The great King desires to have a personal relationship with me, His servant, And for me to do so, brings me to the second reason, I have submitted my life to Him, submission seen in my obedience to Him. My obedience will be seen in how I live each day, and how I show His love, that lives in me. How does a person reject Yahweh from being King over him or her? A person rejects Yahweh from being King over them, by living a life of disrespect for Him and for the Love He sent, His Son, Jesus.
  10. Q1. Read 1 Samuel 8:15 and Malachi 3:8-10. How did tithing relate to a person's acceptance of God being his or her King in the Old Testament? Accepting God as King is following His law, giving to God of our tithes and offerings willingly, from our hearts. How about for those of us who live under the New Covenant? What place does tithing have for us? It is the same God we serve, and the same needs to be met in the church. Give to God's service, do it willingly.
  11. Q2. If we believe that truth and morality are all relative to one's culture, how can we know and understand the Righteous and Upright God? I believe that truth and morality are only relative to the Righteous and Upright God. As much as we would like to make black, white, it is impossible! This is mans wisdom, but we who are in Christ are instructed to put on the mind of Christ and follow the teaching of the Holy spirit, and not to follow mans wisdom. How can we declare God and his Son Jesus Christ in a relativistic world? First we must know who God is and what He disires of us, and who we are in Christ, before we could declare them to the world. 1Co 8:6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist. We who are Christians, we acknowledge there is but one God, He is our Father, our origin comes from Him and He rules over us! He is our great source of power, wisdom, and counsel. The Father's agent in producing all things is the Son, and all things are formed in accordance with the Father's plan! We Christians, saved throught the blood of the Lamb, owe our existence to God, we must live to glorify God the Father, because He sent our Bridegroom, and we acknowledge we in subjection to the Lord Jesus, for He is Sovereign, and is equal to the Father. Once we understand who we are in Christ, the world will see Him living in us. What is an effective approach? Love your neighbor as yourself, it speaks volumes, not only to them, but to God.
  12. Q1. (Isaiah 6:1-8) How does a realization of God's holiness affect Isaiah? As Isaiah came to see, and to understand the holiness of God, he now could see, it was made clear his own unworthiness! How could he join in the praise to God who is so holy? Why is Isaiah afraid? Isaiah understood the state he was in, he has sinned, he is ruined, and because of the state he was in, he would perish! How does God make Isaiah holy? The seraphin took a living coal, a hot coal from God's altar of burnt offering, and placed it upon his mouth, the part Isaiah said was unclean, as were the peoples lips he dwelt with. What is the symbolism of the coal from the altar? The symbolism of the hot coal is seen in the living sacrifice placed upon God's altar, the cross. We see the ultimate sacrifice for all mankind was completed by the Son, who came to touch our hearts with the True Living coal from the altar of God. Now made holy -- dedicated to God -- how does Isaiah respond to God? Isaiah's response was quick, "here am I, send me!" Isaiah knew the condition of the people around him, they were of unclean lips, as Isaiah once was. Once we come to the knowledge of what God has done for us, through His Son, how could we not want to go forth with the Good News? Touch our hearts Lord with the hot coals from your altar, for our lips speak of the things from the heart.
  13. Q4. (Isaiah 40:21-31). In this passage on the "Creator of the ends of the earth," which words are repeated in verses 28-31. Jehovah who is from everlasting to everlasting, the all knowing, comprehending God, never tires or becomes weary, He will not faint. There is nothing our God cannot do, did He not create the Universe? What application are we disciples to derive from this passage so that we might understand God's might as Creator? We do tire and become weary, therefore for us to receive strength, we must understand who our God is; He is not a feeble, weak God, He is all powerful and has strength to give to those who put their trust in Him. When we have and exercise "faith" in Jehovah, trusting in the fact that He is the wings of our strength, we will run, and not be weary, we will walk, and not faint!
  14. Q3. (Psalm 95:1-7) How many names, titles, and metaphors of God can you find in this passage, both explicit and implicit? Lord, Rock of salvation, great God, King above all gods, creator of earth and of mankind, Shepherd, What does the Psalmist call on us to do in response to God revealed in his Names? For all God has done for us, our response should be seen in great respect and honor, we are going before the great King! Let us go before Him with a shout of great joy, with thankfulness, with a song that springs from our hearts in worship as we bend the knee before Him, falling prostrate in praise before our Maker. Why are these actions appropriate? Because He is the Rock of our salvation, He is our great God, our great King, our Maker; We who are His sheep, are under His care. He is who He is, the I Am!
  15. Q2. What inherent rights does a Potter, Creator, or Maker have over what he has created? As I think of my Creator, I have to go back to the beginning, God created Adam, mankind, in His image. God gave to mankind a "choice," choose today whom you will serve. Adam chose not to serve God and allowed sin to come to mankind, so mankind was no longer created in the image of God, but is now created in the image of man, born in sin. But because of the mercy of the Potter and His love for His creation, mankind; He sent His son to the world, to reconcile us to Him. We who are in Chirst are now able to grow into the image of God Almighty, that gives to us a great purpose for living, the reason being, so the world would know there is One God, who sits on the throne, a God that the world should fear, fear Him by loving Him. Israel was created by the Almighty God, a people unto His own, His first born, with the purpose that the world would know, there is but One God, God Almighty. How should that effect our lives, our self-image, our sense of purpose? Jesus said it well in (Mar 12:28 ) A teacher of the Law was there who heard the discussion. He saw that Jesus had given the Sadducees a good answer, so he came to him with a question: "Which commandment is the most important of all?" Mar 12:29 Jesus replied, "The most important one is this: 'Listen, Israel! The Lord our God is the only Lord. Mar 12:30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. Mar 12:31 The second most important commandment is this: 'Love your neighbor as you love yourself.' There is no other commandment more important than these two." This isn't just for Israel, it is for all of God's family. And who are God's family? They are are those who hear the word of God and do them, (Luke 8:21) that should be our purpose! Do them on the foundation of our love, obedience, thankfullness to God our creator; Why? because He sent His Son, who made it possible for us to do so, to serve God with praise in our mouth, There is no God like our God.
  16. I love what you wrote, and was blessed by it. Thank you for bringing to our attention some very important facts about Israel, God's chosen people.
  17. Q1. (Isaiah 45:9-12 ) Why is it ridiculous for a pot to second-guess the Potter? God is all powerful, the all sovereign God. We are subject to God. He created us. He demands from us, that we live righteous lives, how dare we ever question His sovereignty! Who do we think we are to ever question the God that sits upon the throne, who has everything under His rule? Ridiculous for sure! How do we Christians do this? When we decide to do what ever we want to do. When we do not bring honor to God in the way we live our lives, when we murmur against God and blame Him for all our problems instead of living in "faith" putting our trust in Him. What is a better attitude and behavior before our Creator? Because we who put our trust in the all sovereign God, who loves us so much He sent His Son, we who are in Christ, we are now God's workmanship, and our attitude should be one of great gratitude, and that gratitude should be seen in living a life that would bring glory to the name of the Lord, an attitude of love seen in striving to live a life of good works, which God ordained us to do. Isa 60:21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
  18. Q4. 1Sa 17:25 And the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that is come up? surely to defy Israel is he come up: and it shall be, that the man who killeth him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father's house free in Israel. 1Sa 17:26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God? and Heb 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. How do you think David's understanding of the Living God enabled him to challenge Goliath? David knew his God was a living God, not like the other gods of wood or stone. Those gods did not put fear in David's heart, for they have no power; But David's God is powerful! He is a God that lives forever, no man should ever want to fall into His hands for the purpose of punishment, as the word fearful means here. David had "faith" in his God and looked forward to His saving them. Read Hebrews 10:31 in context Why should the Living God inspire fear and dread? Because God is all powerful, He lives forever and punishment is in His hand. Because He is a righteous God, He will inflict just punishment when He pleases! Without God's wrath there would be no need for His mercy. He showed us His mercy when He sent His Son to save us from His wrath, that will one day come to mankind. Yes, fear God, except His plan of salvation. I did and my heart is full of thankfulness for His love and mercy, and I am looking forward to the day my Bridegroom will bring me, before Him, at the wedding feast! The question is, does mankind fear God, are they ready to be brought before the living God to be judged? Or has mankind rejected God's mercy? Do they understand they will stand before Him, naked, without righteousness to clothe them with? All I can say is, "what a horrible time that will be for many people, those who do not fear God."
  19. Q5. How should the knowledge that the battle is the Lord's affect the way we approach life? We put our armour on, take up the rod of God, Christ Jesus, and go forward! knowing God is going before us! In what way do both timidity and brashness get it wrong? Timidity is not "faith"- it is weakness, showing fear. Brashness is not "faith" it is a form of weakness, fragile, reckless, impetuous. For God to fight our battle for us, we must go forth in "faith," in confidence, confident that God is going ahead of us. Are there any instances in which the Lord will not fight our battles? If we go ahead of God, if we are leading the way, then the battle would be our battle to fight. If we go ahead, doing our own thing, did not put on the armour God instructed us to put on, I do not see Him fighting the battle for us; Remember, the people had to go out and fight the battle, as we have to too, we can do it because our "faith" is in God Almighty, who is leading the way. This battle we face each day is a serious battle, it is for our soul, it is with the powers of this earth. It is important we dress for battle, put on God's armour, put on "faith"! we too have the rod of God in our hand, Christ Jesus.
  20. Q3. (Isaiah 44:6; Revelation 1:8) What does the idea of "first" and "last" tell you about God? Before anything existed there was God, and His existence will be forever. How does Revelation 1:8 relate to God's revelation to Moses, "I AM THAT I AM"? I AM completely who I AM, God Almighty.
  21. Q2. (Isaiah 57:15) What do you think it is like to "inhabit eternity"? Joy unspeakable and full of glory. What will it be like when you inhabit eternity with the Eternal God, seated with Christ Jesus in heavenly places? Eternity in itself is nothing I would look forward to, as I look around this world as it is today; But eternity with the Eternal God, seated with Christ Jesus who will rule with a rod of iron of righteousness, there are no words to express what it would be like. I am looking forward to that day with great anticipation! What emotions does this inspire in you? Emotions of Thankfulness, great love, devotion, joy, peace, anticipation, longing for, desire of finally going home
  22. Q1. (Exodus 3:1-15) What does God's name Yahweh reveal about his person and his power? He is the Eternal/Everlasting God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the Covenant God. He is the great I AM, Who Is, the One Who Will Alway Be. He is the Lord God of Israel, Who is, was, and is to come, the Almighty, powerful God, the Self Existent One, Who will continue to be present with His covenant people, Israel. How would an understanding of Yahweh's name contrast him with the idols worshipped by the Egyptians? The Egyptians had gods for everything they could think of. Their gods were powerless, were made with mans hands, imaginary, could not speak.
  23. Q4. (Exodus 17:9-16) In what sense was Moses' rod like a signal pole in this battle? Exo 17:9 And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand. Exo 4:20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand. Moses saw the wonders done with the rod of God, his shepherd's staff God ordered him to take with him. Moses had faith in God and he knew God would do many more signs and wonders. Moses knew God was his source of strength and not the rod; The rod was a banner, a sign, a signal, God Almighty is with us, He is our strength needed to obtain victory. Exo 4:17 And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs. In what sense is the LORD our banner in the battles we face? The banner over us is "love" The Lord is love, and it is His love given, found in Christ Jesus, who reconciled us unto God Almighty, the God of Israel. Our God has given to us means to prepare us for battle with the enemy. He has given us His Word, His armor, His Spirit, and His Son! As long as we stay in "faith," stay in the Word, put on God's armor, put on God's righteousness, Christ Jesus, follow the leading of the Holy spirit, we can face what tomorrow holds, knowing He is our strength in need.
  24. Q3. (Matthew 26:53) Why did Jesus not call on the heavenly host in the Garden of Gethsemane? Jesus came to do the will of the Father and this was one battle Jesus had to win on His own; the battle to save mankind from death and hell, to fight the forces of darkness, and that that battle He won! Thank you Jesus. What happens when does he does call on the heavenly hosts? (Revelation 19:11-16) Jesus, the King of Kings will come to fight the last battle and with Him will come the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean to tread the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. Rev 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. Rev 12:7-8 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. Christ the General of God's army is coming with heavens host, they go to battle with the kings of this earth, with the beast and false prophet, and their armies. BUT, we know that GREATER is He who is in us than he that is in the world. God Almighty has everything under His control! We win.
  25. Q2. (2 Kings 6:13-17) Why was Elisha's servant afraid? The servant could see the best of the Syrian troops had surrounded them with their horses and chariots. What was the difference between Elisha and his servant? The servant lacked the faith of Elisha, so what he saw was the reality of the enemy who had surrounded them, and that is all he could see. What does it take for our eyes to be opened? Knowing God's Word, and Abiding in our faith in God Almighty. How can 1 John 4:4 strengthen you in your spiritual battle? 1Jn 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. We who are in Christ have overcome the enemy, BUT the battle isn't over with. The enemy has surrounded us and are ready to kill and destroy God's people; BUT God's Spirit, the Holy Spirit ,is living in us, and He is much greater than the prince of this world. This strengthens my faith. God has also given to us His armor, for us to put on. If we are to fight the good fight, we have to put the armor of God on, even if we cannot see with our eyes the evil powers surrounding us, as the servant of Elisha couldn't see God's army surrounding them; we know they the enemy are there ready to kill and destroy our faith, our trust in God Almighty, BUT we know who lives in us, One that is greater than he that is in the world. We serve an awesome God.
