The reason for formal accusations was to get to the bottom of the accusations truthfully and fairly. There was too much favoritism. The Leaders had too much control. I personally feel the reason why it is so difficult to exercise church discipline today is the fact that favoritism is so strong in the church. People who give the most money get away with whatever they want. There are great family ties in some churches. The Pastor of the church founded the church or a family member started the church.

Q2. Legalism vs. Gospel
Mrstoler replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. Setting a Godly Example (1 Timothy 4)
The attractiveness of the legalistic requirements to the people was the fact that it allowed them to be self-righteous. The fruit that it produces in a person -
Paul reminds Timothy and the church of the widespread apostasy because he does not want to church to fall into the hands of those who want to deceive the people and lead them away from the true teaching of the Gospel of Christ. The church will be aware and not be fooled into believing lies and will be able to teach new believers the truth of the Gospel of Christ.

The leader here that Paul is speaking of is a man that is in control of himself. I believe that if he had more than one wife or if he were fooling around with other women, how can he concentrate on anything important that he is responsible for? His mind is on how to please all those women and how they can please him. If there are more than one woman in his life there is going to be chaos. Every woman in his life is going to want his attention. If there are children they will need his attention. Now where will the church come in at this point? There will be no time for the needs of the church and the congregation.

Q5. Women in Ministry
Mrstoler replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Men and Women in God's Household (1 Timothy 2)
I believe that women in ministry need to read that part of scripture from time to time to stay focus on the ministry and not on self. They know that God called them by the fruit that they bare. What I am trying to say is as a woman myself I sometimes get emotional and tend to put self into some situations when it really isn't about me. We have a lot to deal with and we should separate the things that we deal with into catagory of inportance. If your situation is more important than God it is time to make sure that you were really called to the ministry. Because we never want to chase anyone away from God or the blood of that person will be on our hands. This goes for men too. It is just that women have to be extra careful because of the way we are perceived in ministry by some people. We are more education now then the woman back in Paul's time and we should know better. We just have to make sure that self or the flesh does not take over. I have seen it happen in some of the churches that I have attended. People have left the church eventhough the word of God went forth, but along with it bad examples of how a woman of God carry themselves in ministry was taught. Some woman in ministry caused woman who were really dedicated to God's word and His people to a bad reputation. -
Q4. Fancy Clothing
Mrstoler replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Men and Women in God's Household (1 Timothy 2)
Women dressing fancy would cause those who could not afford to buy the latest fashion would resent the women who could and nothing but back biting and gossip would get out of control. Clicks would form and fights will eventually break out. At that point the Word of God is not going forth. I would compare what goes on in the church today with the church in Paul's time. There is not that much difference. We would have to stop conveting what other wear and have a sincere heart open to God. We should do what God said to do and be content with what we have. "God will supply all our needs." This chose should be made individually we should humble ourselves and love everyone without favoritism then there would be no legalism. -
Q3. Pure Hearts
Mrstoler replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Men and Women in God's Household (1 Timothy 2)
The problem among the men of the congregation was that they were trying to serve God but hating their brother and God's command was to love everyone. How could they teach effectively if they were always angry with everyone? No one wants to listen to someone they don't like. If you try to worship with anything other than love in your heart you are only fooling yourself because your worship is in vain. God tells us in His word that He will forgive us if we will forgive others. Who are we not to love and forgive others, when we have sinned against God time and time again and He has forgiven us every time asked for forgiveness? God does not listen to empty worship. -
Q2. Mediator and Ransom
Mrstoler replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Men and Women in God's Household (1 Timothy 2)
Jesus is God the Son and God the Father is well pleased with everything He does. The Lord Jesus laid down His life for all men. His very life was ransom for us and now because God the Father was satisfied with what Lord Jesus did to save all men, He now serves as mediator for all men so that through the Lord Jesus the Father will see us as worthy to be in His presence. Without the Lord Jesus standing up for us where would we be? Lost forever. -
Q1. Salvation for All Mankind
Mrstoler replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Men and Women in God's Household (1 Timothy 2)
Paul emphasize salvation because that is what the Spirit of the Lord taught him. Paul knows that this is what God the Father wants, all to be given a chance to choose Him. This suggest that the people in Ephesus was not doing what God call them to do. They were only picking and choosing people of their on race and not going outside of there own culture to teach those who needed the word of God the most. -
Q4. Exhortation

That He is worthy to be praised, He is mighty in battle, He is everyone and everything I will ever need as long as I live and beyond. He is the great I Am. It was my own praise to Him. When reading it from scripture and listening to what you are actually saying you become emotional realizing How blessed you really are to have a God of greatness love you so much He saved you by giving His only Son as payment for our many sins and to save our souls.

Paul what the church to know that he went through the same thing and he want them to know that God saved him and the same could happen for them. Sometimes when people can see an example of someone being saved from sin it is more believable and they feel that someone else has gone through the same thing.

Q1. False Doctrine
Mrstoler replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. God's Grace and Calling (1 Timothy 1)
The result of false doctring was quarreling, strife, fighting, destruction of faith, controversy. Doctrinal controversy hurts the spirit of the church when everyone is not on one accord in what they learn, people are taught to sin against God. The doctrine is confussing and no one knows what is truth and they start to do things their own way and not follow the true word of God. False doctrine stunts the growth of someone weak in the faith because the person is taught the wrong thing and does what is wrong in God's sight. Everyone is going in their own way and no one is together in what God's plan is for the church. -
I have a new insight on what it means to study the word of God for yourself because you could be lead straight to hell by someone who is under the enfluence of Satan. I am thankful for this study and I believe God lead me to this website for the truth. God is great and He loves me. Keep doing the work of God. Thank you Pastor Ralph!

It means the world to me the I have my Father in heaven guarding me from falling. I can't make without Him. It is because of His love for me and His desire that I not perish but live in love with Him in glory. He will present me to Himself blameless through His Son Jesus Christ. It's by the water, the blood and the Spirit that I believe that has cleanses me and I am born again because of Christ.

Q3. Staying in Love with God
Mrstoler replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #6. Able to Keep You From Falling (Jude 1-2, 20-25)
To keep yourself in God's love means to read the word and apply it to your life with gladness. To talk with God on a daily basis and let God know that you appreciate everything that He has done for you. I am reading and studying the word of God and sharing what I find out with others. I do need to pray more and worship more. God has been more than good to me and He deserves better and I want Him to show me how. He deserves more from me. -
Q2. Building Up Your Faith
Mrstoler replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #6. Able to Keep You From Falling (Jude 1-2, 20-25)
God want us to do some of the work for ourselves. If He does everything for us we won't appreciate the things that He does do for us. We have to read the Word of God. God already knows what He has said. Things worth keeping is worth working for. Our faith is well worth every effort to learn of God. The thing that I am doing to obey this command is to pray, fellowship at church with other believers, read the Word of God and try to keep God in my thoughts. Meditate on the word and fasting along with prayer.
