  1. Giving all the credit to the Lord for everything that goes on in their lives. Giving to others before giving to one's self. Not being a dictator over the church and be a good servant to the church people and obey God. Actions speaks louder than words. Watch they way they operate in the church and out of the church. We create a problem for ourselves and the purpose of bringing people to Christ in that particular church will fail because people will not trust the leader.
  2. I am not sure how to keep them from being power-mongers because I was under one at one time and the pastor was not having it. You would be out of order by telling the pastor anything about being wrong about something. The danger here is losing your congregation little by little and disobeying God by lording over them. I believe prayer in needed first and with the okay of God go to that person with the elders of the church and discuss the issue.
  3. When a person has to have their arm twisted to work in the church or have to be made to feel guilty about not working in the church is very wrong. It causes the person to resent being a member of the church after awhile. The work won't be done to the best of that person's ability and it won't be done to honor God. The church will get a bad reputation for forcing people to do the work of God, and a person trained under that kind of pressure will treat the members the same way and in some cases chase new members away from the church and sometimes chase them away from any other church.
  4. This is a command from God that the elders and leaders take care and feed His people. This is not to be taken lightly. This is a very important assignment from God. The words that stuck out the most was spiritual responsibility. Having to take care of what another person spiritually and being responsible for what is being taught about God by you.

  6. When you are willing to die for Christ you are showing your loyalty to Him and Him only. He is your all and all and that His word is buried in your heart. Your love Him just that much. When we are not willing to die for Christ or be persecuted we deny Him and show we are ashamed to be counted with Him. He is not are Lord and Savior. We are committed to Christ when we willing to follow Him unto death no matter what. We trust Him with our very life. I will never forget that 14 year old girl at Columbine School when she was asked if she was a follower of Christ with a gun pointed in her face and she said "Yes" and then she was killed. I know in for a fact that baby has a starry crown to heavy for her to carry on her head.
  7. I believe that if I am never persecuted by anyone is because they see in me that I have not killed the flesh. I don't even try to represent Jesus Christ. I am still living for this world and loving it more then Christ. Persecution should make me happy because I am living for the one who died for me.
  8. Well I feel that I am being persecuted in a way now, because I know someone who is down on their luck because of bad choices and disobedience and wants to blame God for it and when she has been drinking, she uses God to manipulate her way around when she wants money or sympathy. Then when I try to tell her how to receive peace. She tells me she does not want to hear it and that I talk about God to much. So I be quiet and wait for another opportunity to share the Gospel with her. She went to church with the wrong idea about church. She went in looking for a mate to take care of her. I did not know what to say to her only that if it did not work out between her and that man, she should not blame God for it. I really feel bad for her and at the same time she upsets me. But then I look into her baby's eyes and I want to cry for the chid and I have. So I pray for the child's mother and myself. Especially for myself to stay focused on the Word of God and not on how I feel in my flesh. That is the suffering I am going through. I have to remember that the "Battle is not mine it is the Lord's" and I must endure with humbleness and patience.
  9. My perspective would be that I will suffer being laugh at because of my faith. I will be challenged about my faith. Someone may even want to fight me because I follow Jesus Christ. I was lied on in the church and the person told the same lie twice and others believe them even the Pastor and that hurt me more then the lie.
  10. The danger of avoiding persecution is having guilt that you should have stood your ground for Christ. I was distracted once because I was doing what I was called to do and I allowed others who lied on me to run me away. Yes I have seen people who don't want God's program to go on and they would start up things to distract the person assigned to the task by causing problems.
  11. It means they are pretending to be modest. They are "uncover" boasting. They are not really be mature. Well God has given me a few, but I am not using all of them. I was in church today and the Minister spoke about hiding and not using what God has given me and now I have come to this part of the study and the same thing is being said. I admit that I have been hiding and making excuses because of something that happen to my at another church.
  12. Non- Christians do not want anyone telling them what they can and cannot do. In some ways we Christians don't want to be told what to do. We should be aware that God will judge us for our thoughts and what we do and be aware that our time is not His time and Jesus can come when ever the Father says so.
  13. I feel that non-christians try to get you to sin with them to have a reason to say that your faith and religion is fake and that you think that you are better than them and they want to show the world that christians are really bad people. We are tempted to sin with them because we don't want to lose friends or be singled out and talked about. We can resist by obeying Jesus and by explaining to them in a gentle and respectful way the reason for your faith and obedience to God the Father. Most of all reading our bibles and storing the Word of God in our hearts.
  14. The attitude Christ had was He was done with sin once in for all. If I have that attitude it will make me not want to sin because I have Christ attitude about it. The attitude is the desire to do what Christ did about sin. Hate sin and be done with it.
  15. I was baptized when I was twelve years old and it was not fully explained to me what I was doing. After I became an adult I confessed Christ and I still felt that something was missing. I was not reading the word for myself. I was relying on someone else's understanding of being a Christian. I started reading for myself and praying more for understanding. I later went back into the water and before I did the Lord spoke to my heart and told me that before I go into the water I had to confront my mother and brother and release something from my heart that I was holding against them. I did and I felt free to be baptized. Right now reading this study and my bible I have a greater understanding of my baptism. I feel complete in that understanding.
  16. The thing that I think about the most in my reconciliation to God is He love me so much that He had patience enough to wait for me to turn to Him. God sent His only begotten Son to die for me. I sinned against God big time. I would even pray to Him when I would be in the middle of a sinful act. He never left me. Even now when I sin, He gives me another chance and He even gives me scriptures to help me to change. He speaks to me when I am wrong and He stops me from going in the wrong places and doing the wrong things and that is through to Holy Spirit. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has a very deep love for me. I have given Him much grief and He still loves me and intercede for me. I feel so ashamed of the things I have done to disrespect my Father. I want to live holy and righteous and I can only do it with the love of God and the sacrifice of my Lord Jesus. I am nothing without Him. One thing I know is I have peace and that came from Jesus Christ. Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me!
  17. It is hard because the flesh is weak. Pride takes over and then we are saying and doing all kind of things that are not Christ-like. The anger builds and we are one word short of hell's gate a point of no return. It is easy to be the wrong witness in a place were there are unbelievers looking for an answer to life's questions about Christianity and we can't answer any questions they may have because we are sending the wrong kind of message by the way we act before the unbeliever. We need to be respectful of God's word and of the people we are suppose to be winning over to Christ.

  19. I can,t speak on the new church that I am in now, because I have not been there long, but the church I belonged too for eleven years we had some of everything in it. We had sympathy and we had retaliation the like mindedness was not there for the entire church. We had people in the church that would lie on you to get what they want. It was being taught to the children. I left the church and I am now, slowly letting it go. This study is really helping me to see my part in this because I do feel like I have been wronged. I don't want to go back to that church because I don't want to end up in the same situation again. My former home need to be more humble. Pray for our own selves that we delivered and mature in our thinking. So that we can have like minds in Christ Jesus.

  22. When a husband or a wife treat their partner wrongly they are being self centered and evil and God doesn't like it. He can't look on us when we are doing evil because God is a Holy God and He want us to live Holy lives.
  23. The husband need to know everything he can about his wife, so that he will know how to treat her. The husband shows his wife that she is very important to him because he want to know everything he can about her so that he can make her happy. When the husband seeks to know his wife it shows that their marriage is very important to him. When the marriage is healthy he is healthy. Some men are thought this as a young boy. Others dominate their wives because their is something broken in him. Some women dominate their men because she may have been taught it. While some are just selfish and want things their way. This causes hatred and in some cases violence. God is not a dominating God. He is a loving God. He is the one that took us as His own and the way He loves us is the way He want us to love others. His word proves who God really is. That is love.
  24. A person cultivates inner beauty by the divine instruction of God. By submitting to the will of God. Also by treating others the way that you want to be treated. True character is important to God because as we go through life we must represent God to the world. We cannot represent God by having bad character and claim to be christians.
  25. Their appearance is a reflection on God and their husband, but they are not to get caught up in the way they look on the outside because they can be beautiful on the outside and be just as ugly on the inside and no one want to be around someone is a terrible person. The balance comes from being a follower of Christ and making your inside and outside match.
