  1. I have pledged my faith in Jesus Christ by taking part in the ordinance of baptism. And promised to serve Him as His Disciple. But, there is another important aspect to this ... In my opinion, I need to demonstrate this pledge on a daily basis. Like "Give us this day our daily bread". I don't mean that I need to physically receive baptism daily. I was baptised as a baby and then again about seven years ago. Next month I will turn seventy; and look forward to demonstrating to myself each morning that I have been purchased of God! Praise His Name forever. Love ...Bro. Al
  2. What do I notice in my Church that is lacking in harmony? We don't seem to have a well defined cause. Of course the Bible says that it should be The Great Commission. Evangelism. We don't seem, as a body, to get the concept of a 'Lost and Dying World ' . We are still pretty much like "Babies" desiring milk. Bro. Al.
  3. It is most difficult for us to submit because of our upbringing. (speaking for myself of course) My parents sent me conflicting messages, (this was a mistake in my opinion) For instance one went to church and the other one didn't. But, they agreed on this one point ... I had to learn to: "Pick myself up by my own bootstraps." This came across to me as a child, as a military attitude of "Never give up!" Or "Never give in!" I was confused by any display of weakness. Obviously, I misunderstood the difference between love and submission and weakness and stubornness, and disobedience. It takes a lot longer to unlearn something that it would have to learn it correctly from the start! Love & God Bless You ...Bro. Al
  4. Would that I walk humbly with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ... however, I am human and humans are not perfect. Then; would that I forgive myself as God has forgiven me. And, one thing more ... That I love and forgive others also. One day at a time. Love ...Bro. Al
  5. There is only one sure way to 'COMBAT LIES' and that is with God's Word. Love ...Bro. Al
  6. Isn't it interesting to be called a stone? Not much to 'OOh and AAH' over in that picture. Nothing to call one's attention to, in a stone. But, a 'living stone', that's another matter. A stone that was once just a plain old stone but God has choosen us and transformed us, and imbuded us with life; HIS life, so that we, when woven together, form an edifice to HIS purpose and glory. Amen. Thanks to all of you... I can't help but lovingly smile over what a beautiful structure we are becoming.
  7. Rev.18:4 "Come out of her, my people," ... This is not a request. This is a command. As to the 'How' and 'When' ... M't. 11:15 "Those who have ears, let them hear." All that we have is today. I believe that we choose to sleep today or we choose to obey, today! Psalm 63:1 Seek HIM early. Love ...Bro. Al
  8. undefined I am studying the 'contemporary' song: Holy, Holy, Holy. Written by John B. Dykes and Reginald Heber. Immediately after they address who is being sung about: "Lord GOD Almighty." They say: "Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee." What I learned is that Holy is our Lord God Almighty, and that our song of praise to God should begin "early in the morning". Amen. Love ...Bro. Al
  9. Perhaps everlasting punishment is difficult to accept because we have been schooled that: "Nothing lasts forever." "There is only one constant and that is CHANGE." Light and dark cannot exist together, and our God is a just God; God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, so therefore the 'just' punishment would be banishment from God, forever.
  10. Dear Lord, would that I "emulate" to the best of our ability: Too late for the "virgin" ideal; I'm a Grandfather of seven. I love to sing songs of praise to my Lord Jesus Christ. Perhaps this "new song" is sung in tongues; if so I'm ready. I believe in the proposition of ONE DAY AT A TIME ... so today I shall not be defiled. Today I shall sing a new song. Today I will follow The Lamb whithersoever HE goes. Today I am redeemed from men. Today I will put First Things First. Today I will leave no room for guile or dishonesty. If it be Your Will Lord. Love ...Bro. Al
  11. God can use anyone and anything to further His purposes, even the anti-christ. Those who do not believe Jesus Christ is The Son of God; will fall for the anti-christ propaganda. That will be, or course, that he, the anti-christ, is God. This will be agreed to by the false prophet.
  12. The one who is overcome is satan, the dragon, the old serpent, the devil. We have the victory in the Spirit. The Blood of our Savior Jesus Christ is God the Father's purchase price for us: Born Again types. We had to die to the flesh to be born of The Spirit; so now we will have to prove that we are not just hypocritical ; saying one thing with our mouth, but discounting that testimony entirely by our actions. Love ...Bro. Al
  13. The battle remains the same: We Born Again types having been purchased by The Precious Blood of Our Savior Jesus Christ; are now in a daily battle, between the Spirit of God (within us) , ourselves , and satan! Satan would like to quench our spirit; and he can; and he does; if we let him. But if we are not afraid, and pay attention to our daily walk with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we will be victorious. The battle has already been won and the victory belongs to Jesus Christ! The victory is ours!
  14. The positive characteristics that the Two Witnesses have are #1. They are powerful. #2. They prophesy continually, even in the face of certain death; for 1260 days. In our day, we should do like wise. We should evangelize during whatever time we have left. Their reward was that the Spirit of God entered into them after they had been dead for 31/2 days and they were taken up into heaven. Love ...Bro. Al
  15. My opinion is that the bitterness is because so many will choose to trust in themselves. Also our own guilt from having not sufficiently carried The Message of Salvation by Jesus Christ alone. The sweetness is that by His Grace and Faith, I have trusted and belong to God.
  16. undefined It isn't that I don't know, but often I forget. For instance: When starting to type in a 'reply' on this forum; I might forget to pray! I like the analogy of GOD to water: 3 in 1, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Water can be in three forms: Solid if frozen, liquid if water, or gas if vapor. It is always two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. I'm not a chemist, or an engineer, but my neighbor is. So I'm going to run this by Bill, my neighbor, and I pray that God will use it to HIS glory. Love ...Bro. Al
  17. Good afternoon my wonderful Sisters and Brothers, in The One Who has All Power. I want to say 'Thank You' again, to those who posted on this subject of "Reigning". You have brought tears to my eyes, again. My Bible, Rev. 5:10 says: "And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." As has been said already: We can practise all of this today. Be of service to God and our fellow man. Pray for each other. Demonstrate Christs Love. Love ...Bro. Al
  18. There are none righteous, no not one. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. This is a disheartening condemnation for mankind! Glory be to God, He gave His Son Jesus Christ to be THE propitiation for our sins. Jesus Christ led a sinless life. Tempted in all ways just like us . . . He overcame the flesh, and Satan; that my/our name might be written in The Lambs Book of Life.
  19. The observation that Jesus Christ has won the battle over Satan and death should help the 21 Century Church be alive, joyful, enthusiastic, and ready daily to do good works. The visual of Jesus walking among to lampstands; although HE is not completely pleased, lets us know that HE has not abandoned us; HE is gently leading us and HIS sheep are hearing and responding to HIS voice. Be full of Honesty, Purity, Unselfishness and Love. Repent of fornication, pride of the flesh, ****, sloth, gluttony, anger, envy, and greed. Love ...Bro. Al
  20. 'Combatting Apathy and Lukewarmness' There seems to be a lot of finger pointing when we discuss this subject. "Judgement is mine." sayth the Lord. Also I have heard that I wouldn't even notice if it wasn't also in me. Having said that, and believing that I'm saved by God's Grace; all I have left to say is that I intend to be the best, Child of God, that I can be today. Dear Lord Jesus, where there is 'apathy' and 'lukewarmness' in my heart ... let me offer it to YOU; that YOU may untangle it, and make me more useful to YOU, to myself, and to others.
  21. Compromising. This is an exhilarating subject. God says that we are either for Him or against Him. How does 'compromising' jive with 'obedience'. The easiest way to 'compromise' is to ignore. If we choose to ignore God's Word we are choosing to turn our back on Him. But, He said that His sheep hear his voice, and follow Him. Believe you me, I understand that 'obedience' is not easy. It may very well be an advanced lesson to some of us, but be what it may; I am closer to my Lord Jesus today because I have called on Him. My call has gone out while in the heat of battle, and His Word has comforted me: "I will never leave you or forsake you!" I am His sheep, and I bleat. Love ...Bro. Al
