The transcendent holiness of God, emphasized in Isaiah’s vision, is a basic aspect of his message. God is a holy God, and He demands holiness from His people, a holiness He will give to them if only they will repent, turn from their evil ways, and submit to Him in faith and obedience. For he knew that he at one point in his life followed Gods ways. I believe Yahweh revealed Himself to Isaiah the way He did to remind him of who He is. He’s great and almighty. All honor and glory belong to Him. He is Omnipresent present the creator of everything. In what ways does this vision reveal God’s majesty? It shows that He is the light of the world. A sovereign God, all powerful all knowing and all seeing. It also shows that God wants to communicate with His creation. What do we learn about Yahweh from the serphaim’s chant? They used Holy three times which shows us that God is set apart from everything thing else. His holiness is at the highest degree possible. They are covered to humble themselves before our great King. They sing with praises not even to Him yet in His presence and at such a degree of greatness that it caused the doorpost to shake an a cloud of smoke to appear. Again to show how great God is. We as Yahweh’s creation in His image need to have the same level of respect for Him as the serphaims. We have way more to be great fun for. Krissi Posted March 29, 2023 Report Share Posted March 29, 2023 I'm not certain why God chose to reveal Himself in this way ... and not other ways. He vision comes on the heels of his threats -- the "woes" upon Judah so I imagine that his vision somehow emphasizes the threat because of His power or His ability to make good on those threats. God's power is connected to His majesty logically and in reality. The fact that there are no other beings with His power sets God apart -- He is wholly others, ultimately powerful. His majesty derives from His power. We often describes kings and judges as "his/her Majesty" or even mountains as "majestic" but here, we're describing God using this near-superlative. The Seraphim's chant reveals three aspects of God, as Pastor Ralph wrote: God's holiness, His might and how creation exhibits His glory. He wanted to show Isaiah His majesty, which he did, by being on a throne, having a robe that filled the temple, having seraphim constantly praising him, the shaking of the post if the door and the smoke that filled the house. What do we learn about Yahweh from the serphaim’s chan? We learn that He is Holy and the whole earth is filled with His glory. What do we learn about Yahweh from the serphaim’s chant? Ans: God wants to show Isaiah’s miserable state as he was groaning and complaining the plight of people of Judah. Until unless he sees the majesty of God and the great calling that awaits him, he won’t stop. This is the vision that turned Isaiah’s life upside down. For the one who has seen and adored only King Uzziahs throne so far, swept off his feet and made him to cry as woe to me, I am undone and I am a man of unclean lips. This is most dramatic scene angels flew unto him with a live coal taken from the altar. The vision of the king of kings and thundering voice of the Lord and flying seraphim’s around - what an encounter of majesty? Bryan Posted March 30 Report Share Posted March 30 I believe that God revealed himself to Isaiah in this way, so that in the future, when coming kingdoms would be seeking to destroy Israel, he could compare the relative majesty of God to the insignificance of the world leaders. Just as a single picture cannot truly capture the significance of a mountain range, the words of Isaiah cannot capture the majesticness of God.
