1. What is the significance of Hezekiah spreading out the enemy's message before the Lord?
When we are being bombarded with demonic lies, take those words to God, for it is He who shields our head in the day of battle and helps us think clearly and declare His Word into our situations

A psalm of David.

1 Rescue me, Lord, from evildoers; protect me from the violent,

2 who devise evil plans in their hearts and stir up war every day.

3 They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent’s; the poison of vipers is on their lips.

4 Keep me safe, Lord, from the hands of the wicked; protect me from the violent, who devise ways to trip my feet.

5 The arrogant have hidden a snare for me; they have spread out the cords of their net and have set traps for me along my path.

6 I say to the Lord, “You are my God.” Hear, Lord, my cry for mercy.

7 Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer, you shield my head in the day of battle.

8 Do not grant the wicked their desires, Lord; do not let their plans succeed.

9 Those who surround me proudly rear their heads; may the mischief of their lips engulf them Psalm 140:1-9

2. What is the underlying principle illustrated here?
Go to God first for wisdom, guidance, help and wait for Him to show you the way through.

3. How can we apply this principle to our own lives?
Take everything to Abba dearest first. And after doing everything you know to do - Stand in faith and see the deliverance of my God!

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand Ephesians 6:13

4. What happens when we don't apply this principle?
We have negated God’s help and taken it upon ourselves to try and resolve - man made efforts. But there is hope in Christ Jesus, because he promises to turn everything together for good, even our mistakes, yes in all things Romans 8:28

The significance of spreading out the enemy message before the Lord is that Hezekiah demonstrated that he gave the entire message to the Lord.  We need to give ALL the battles and potential battles we face TO THE LORD.  Psalm 103:19 tells us HE established His THRONE in the heavens.  HE has DOMINION over all.  The battles truly belong to the Lord as Hezekiah told his people in 2 Chronicles 32: "but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles."

When we don't apply this principle through prayer, seeking to know His Word, and surrendering of our will to His, disaster follows...
