  1. Abraham proved his worth as a God man and a family man, He demonstarted his love by actions, just as our God did for us. Abraham devotion to family and his ability to show mercy is a lesson for us all.
  2. The moment I first believed and accepted Jesus ,Christ as my Lord and Saviour I became united with Him through His cross work, Jesus bridged the gapping void at Calvary. AT CALVARY Years I spent in vanity and pride, Caring not my Lord was crucified, Knowing not it was for me He died on Calvary. Refrain Mercy there was great, and grace was free; Pardon there was multiplied to me; There my burdened soul found liberty at Calvary. By God's Word at last my sin I learned; Then I trembled at the law I'd spurned, Till my guilty soul imploring turned to Calvary. Refrain Now I've given to Jesus everything, Now I gladly own Him as my King, Now my raptured soul can only sing of Calvary! Refrain Oh, the love that drew salvation's plan! Oh, the grace that brought it down to man! Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span at Calvary! Refrain, When I was baptised into the Lord my old man had to die, I left him behind and walk in the new man the God man with Jesus, what a union, what a great salvation.
  3. Q1. (13:2) Does Abraham's material wealth reflect God's blessing on him? Does material wealth always reflect God's blessing. Does physical poverty always reflect God's curse? In Abrahams case material wealth was a blessing, unfortunately some people pursue material wealth at the cost of their walk with God. I at one time allowed my life to be taken over by material things, but thankfully by faith my life goals have been changed. I am grateful for all the blessings I receive from my Saviour. As Abrham each day brought new blessings.
  4. Q5. (12:2-3) What relationship does God's promise to Abraham in 12:2-3 have to do with the incident of Sarah's abduction in 20:10-20? It shows a wonderful relationship of care and promise. God promises stand forever His blessings are pure and refreshing. Abraham must have been elated with the knowledge that the true Living God had taken over his care. The power of Abrahams relationship with God can be clearly seen when Abimelech thoughts of anger are turned to that of blessing. Is that not true for us to day in so many areas of our life we feel alone or in a corner of our own making, and silently our Lord God moves into our situation with blessing and care and the situation changes, way beyond normal expectations. Thank you Lord for loving me.
  5. Q4. What do you think about Abraham's and Sarah's ethics and faith? Are they ethically and morally wrong? Does the Scripture intend to show that their actions as a lack of faith? What lessons should we disciples learn from these stories? When we decide that our way is the best way no matter what circumstances are. Then we find ourselves on sandy ground. They decided to act outside Gods plan, fear caused them to question their faith and the proceedings cause pain for others as well. When we lack faith we question Gods ability to handle the complex problems in out lives, we stay on safe ground, we rely on our old ways. The old ways never worked for us in the past why rely on them now. Abraham and Sarah lack of faith is something we can learn from.
  6. Faith in the finished work of Jesus and letting Jesus become our Lord, we then leave behind the old Adam and then walk in the new man in Christ Jesus. No longer a sin slave of the old Adam nature we submit to headship of Jesus Christ and rest on His finished work. We then follow His command to be baptized, and we are buried with Him but then we arise and walk in the new man the rebirth state with Him. Man of sorrows what a name For the Son of God who came Ruin sinners to reclaim Hallelujah what a Saviour
  7. Q3. (Romans 5:15-19) By what right does Adam represent all humankind? By what right does Christ become head of all who become his disciples? If Christ is not our "representative" or "head," how can his death for sins be effective for us? By Adam sin passed to all mankind. We had an Adam nature, my old man was fashioned on the first Adam, I was disobedient and arrogant, my own man, did not need help from anyone especially God. What a fool I was, scripture says the fool says in his heart that there is no God. But on a day I least suspected Jesus by the Holy Spirit confronted me with my sinful life and the wages that I was to receive. I repented of my sins that day and asked the Lamb of God to take my sins away, to become my saviour and Lord of my life, now He has every right on my life, He is the head and director of all. Through His death and resurrection I have life. Oh, what a Savior that He died for me! From condemnation He hath made me free;
  8. Q3. (20:3-6) What does this story teach us about God's view of adultery? Can God forgive a person who has committed adultery? Adultery the punishment was death, a harsh sin, a deep sin, a sin that has deceived someone who has given love to another, and yet to be deceived behind their back. I believe the blood bought church of our Lord Jesus Christ understands the ugliness of sin, but thankfully we are saved by grace, we the redeemed stand justified by faith. Is it not a matter for prayer just at this moment for all those who are outside this wonderful forgiving grace and who are still enveloped in darkness, victims all and eventual losers to the penalty of sin. Job: 19:25 For I know that my Redeemer liveth,and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth
  9. 2. (Romans 5:13, 20) What is Paul saying in these verses? Can there be sin without law? In what sense does the "trespass increase" (5:20) when the law is present? Sin entered into the world by Adam for all have sinned. Until the Law there was no measuring stick no line of discipline. When the Law was implemented then mankind cloud see how diverse and sinful that we are and how much we need forgiveness.
  10. Q2. (12:17-20) Why did Pharaoh and his household get sick? What effect did this have? What was God seeking to accomplish through this affliction? Did it have the desired effect? Pharaoh wanted that what he should not have touched an the effect of his selfish acts where to be suffered by his entire family. So often the practice of the few effect many innocent people. What was the relationship between Abram and Sarai afterwards. Many lessons came from this incident both for Pharaoh and Abram.
  11. 1. (12:10) What dangers faced Abraham and his family as aliens and sojourners in Egypt and elsewhere? Who might oppress them? What "aliens and sojourners" live in your community? Why did they come? How are they being oppressed or discriminated against by employers and others in the community? What can you and your church do to "love those who are aliens"? Abraham and his family had no civil rights or civil security, but they where under the graceful care of the Living God. To day over the world we have seen a mass injection of others from war torn or less fortunate countries. Integration must be so fearful and hard, most don't speak the native language of the adopted country and maybe skin colour would make a sojourner stand out. Abraham and his family must have endured some of this. As a blood bought church who have gained from Jesus cross work and forgiveness we must hold out the hand of friendship. A smile can say more than many words.
  12. Q1. What kinds of circumstances in modern life can you think of where a single person acts for an entire group? In what ways are members of the group tied to this person? Many heads of state throughout the world act on the behalf of many. The actions they take may be right or they may be wrong, either way we have little we can do about those actions. Actions of this kind cause many reactions, thankfully Jesus came to seek those who are lost and in sin. The actions of Jesus, caused for those who believe, absolute forgiveness. Whilst the actions some leaders in this world has caused pain and suffering, may we all thank the Lord that His actions lead to our salvation.
  13. Abraham could call upon God with confidence that God was listening to Him and wanted to act on Abraham's behalf. Abraham's faith in God had assured him of Gods love towards him. The joy that Abraham had in calling God surely is the same joy that we have as Gods children through Jesus our Lord. By calling we have the knowledge through faith and from Gods word that He cares for us and He will act on our behalf and welfare. What a great God and Saviour we have.
  14. Its so wonderful to be reconciled, my sin that had once caused a void between my saviour has now been removed by the Blood of Jesus and now I can return to a place of friendship and peace with my God. Reconciliation to means a warm hug of forgiveness a loving welcome home and a place beside the father.
  15. The Lord has been opening doors and I have stepped out in faith and obedience to His word. Steeping out in faith and obedience has caused within me a confidence a strength and an expectation. I want to serve the Master with all that I have to His glory.
  16. Christ died for the ungodly--Christ died for sinners, What glorious news. In that while I was a sinner a hater of God, Christ Jesus died for me. When I was in my weakest state a hell deserving sinner Christ Jesus died for me. Thankfully the good news did not finish here, but Gods word tells me that Jesus Christ came into this world to seek and to save sinners, just like me. Only Gods love could understand and form a plan that would take a sinner like me and redeem me by the blood of the Lamb. Thank you Lord
  17. I have always felt lead to preach and minister, some years ago I had many opportunities to do so and used the opportunities to Gods glory. Unfortunately there is always a BUT!, this is my but, I got caught up in making a living, I wanted to do things at my time and allotted time for Jesus. It could never work and did not work, I suffered because of this and my walk with the LOrd also suffered. The Lord is good and faithful He has never left me. I pray that I can continue to glorify Him in all that I do, I pray for the opportunities to return to glorify Him in ministry.
  18. Suffering is such a builder and developer, suffering comes at any time in our life and also arrives at moments we least expect. Suffering is the last thing we hope for but after it has been endured with the Lord we find that a change has been borne in our lives. I found suffering created in me a wonderful trust in the Master I had to rely in Him in ways I never thought possible, and in all things he delivered and still continues to do so. Suffering wrought perseverance and consideration. Jesus is manifested within and without me as He works His marvellous wonders in and through me to His glory. May the Lord bless those who are presently suffering and may they know His wonderful companionship as they journey on.
  19. Abraham's faith in God was the factor in his justification, God recorded in His word that He credited it his faith to him. Is it not a wonderful thing to know that we have such a loving and Holy God, who let His only Son died for our awful sins, and by our faith in Him ,Jesus we are now justified, set free, no longer held to account. Paul tells us that we are now at peace with God, standing in a place of justification I thank my heavenly Father that He no longer sees my sin, but my faith in the finished work of Calvary and the precious blood of Jesus I am set free...justified by faith.
