  1. 1) I received more knowledge about my walk with the Lord. I have always loved reading the Book of James. Your study really helps to open up one's own eyes and take a look at their ownself. Praying and believing that God answers prayers. Faith is the Key. 2) Book of James was an outstanding Bible Study. 3) I see no need for improvement except in "myself". Thanks Dr. Ralph for allowing me to take a part in this Bible Study. It was very enlightening to me and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about James and his teaching.
  2. The study of the Book of James is a great Bible Study. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
  3. It is the Church Membership as well as Pastors and Church Leaders to minister to the lost soul. If a member falls back in their Christian walk, then we should minister to them and do our best with the help of the Holy Spirit to bring them back to God. By doing this, we are obedient to God's word and God will rejoice and we will be blessed by bringing a soul back to the Lord.
  4. 1) The role of the oil is to set a person "apart" (prepared for anointing of the Holy Spirit) for healing. 2) The role of Prayer of Faith is the beginning of the healing. Without Faith, there would be no healing. 3) Role of Faith activates healing from God. 4) Role of Confession of sins.....Confession (repenting of sins) will cause the sin to leave therefore then healing can take place.
  5. 1) The Elders role is to anoint with oil and pray for the sick with their strongest faith. 2) Elders should be strong mature Christians that will go to the "Throne Room of God" on behalf of the sick believing God for the healing. The Elders should be strong in their walk with the Lord. Elders should be studying the Word of God and stay in direct communication with the Father on a daily basis. Elders should always pray God's WILL be done in the Name of Jesus.
  6. 1) The person sick should initiate the prayer for healing by calling the church elders. 2) It is very important to have church leadership (Ministers/Elders) who are strong and mature christians to pray with their strong faith for healing.
  7. 1) Grumbling and complaining shows that we are impatient, discontent and not happy with life. 2) People who complain and grumble all the time shows a lack of faith or very weak in faith. 3) Grumbling and complaining shows a lack of patience. Grumbling and complaining all the time shows that one needs to seek God and study God's word. A closer relationship with God will most certainly improve your faith in turn one will have more patience with the things of life.
  8. 1) If we lack patience we become discouraged. We need to keep our focus on Christ and look forward to HIS return. 2) Patience is so vital in our lives. It helps to build character in us and helps us show love of others and for God.
  9. A) Spiritual dangers is when we demand that we have something. God does want us to have nice things but we should not let luxury and comfort come before God. By not furnishing the things employees need to do a good and proper job can cause oppression. C) When employers make cheap things that would be sent out of the country can cause oppression. D) God will supply our needs. We just have to be patient and wait upon the Lord.
  10. A) We are warned not to do things our way, not to make abrupt decisions without seeking God's guidance. God knows exactly what is ahead of us. We need to stay in God's will. We can be humble in what we do by praying to God and staying in His Will. We need to keep our focus on God.
  11. 1) When we badmouth a neighbor, we are sitting in judgement and not working in love. We are to love our neighbors as ourselves. God is the judge. 2) We are tempted to badmouth others if we have been hurt (especially in Church). We really need to guard our mouths and watch what comes from our lips.
  12. A) These actions are vital so that we live a Godly life and try to keep sin out of our lives. Our nature is to do what we think is right and taking the easy way out instead of being obedient to the Word of God. C) Being humble and taking a stand against the devil.
  13. A) Christian members are the Bride of Christ and are expected to be true and pleasing to God. Adultery is pleasing self and taking pleasure of things of the world. C) The agrieved husband would be "Jesus". D) Friendship with the world means we are more focused on worldly things than Godly things. Worldly things are sinful and we grieve God and the Holy Spirit through association with the things of the world.
  14. 1) God is not againist pleasure as long as it is within His will for our lives. God wants us to have joy and to have the desires of heart. We have to be careful that we do not let our pleasures and desires come before God. 2) When you are thinking of yourself and your pleasures and what you have, a person will tend to lose focus of God therefore causing them to fall away from God.
  15. A) Loving God and Heavenly Wisdom. Love and wisdom creates righteousness. C) Righteousness grows in our own hearts and in the hearts of those we touch.
  16. A) Bitter envy/selfish ambition leads a person to do for themselves and put themselves first. Humility leads a person to put others first. Denial of sin prevents healing. Self ambition may prevent healing when it is all about self. C) Boasting about what you have is sinful and very well could prevents healing.
  17. The tongue is untamable if evilness and sin lurks in the heart. What comes from our mouth comes from what is in the heart. We need a clean heart, then clean and Godly words will come from our mouth We need to repent and keep the heart clean and filled with God's word.
  18. A) Teachers of the Word will be judged more severely. Greater strictness is appropriate for teachers. They have to practice what they teach. They should set higher standards for themselves. C)Higher standards are expected of the Pastor. People see their example.
  19. Faith without works is dead. We are saved by grace through faith in Gods word - not of works. We are saved to do works as predestined by God in Ephesians. God chose us to DO His work.
  20. 1) The demon knows God exist but they fear God. The demon has no doubts of God's existence The true Christian (practicing Christian) is a believer and Christ lives in their hearts and they are filled with faith in God's WORD. Practicing Christians DO what God's word says. 2) A non-practicing Christian has no faith. They will a fill a pew each Sunday and never show their love. They just exist. I heard one Minister refer to the non-practicing Christian - "They are like catipillers, they crawl in on Sunday and sit in a pew and then they crawl back out until next Sunday."
  21. 1) As Christians we are to care for those in our church who are in need. We need to help the poor financially as we are able. We need to encourage those in need and pray for them. We need to help them spiritually. We need to let them know they are loved by the church family. 2) Christians should always help people in church and outside our church in our communities. We need to show our love in outreaching to the community. We need to help as we are able.
  22. 1) Faith is dead without works. We prove our faith by our actions and the things we do to help others and spread the gospel. Faith is a way of life. 2) Others see Christ in us and see what we do. They see the works we do for God's Kingdom.
  23. 1) When we favor the wealthy person and not favor the poor then we are showing no mercy. This is a sin. We need to reach to the wealthy, but the poor especially need our mercies. When we show mercy, then God will show us mercy. God is a great and merciful God. We should not judge the poor because of how they look or dress. We need to be kind and caring to them and show them compassion. Extra Credit: God blesses those who show mercy. God wants us to be merciful (to all) believers and sinners. God does not want our sacrifices. God wants us to know HIM. He wants us to be like HIM. As Christians, we should "rejoice" in God's tender mercies.
  24. 1) Loving your neighbor as yourself or the Royal Law is the highest law. WIthout LOVE, there is nothing. 2) There is no love. 3) If we show favoritism to the rich, we are not truly showing them love. 4) It shows no love which is a sin. We must treat everyone the same GOD IS NO RESPECTOR OF PERSONS....ALL ARE THE SAME IN GOD'S EYES.
  25. 1) When we show favoritism, we begin to judge. Being judgemental is a sin. 2) Favoritisim is evil and someone is left out that should not be. All should be treated the same, the rich or poor. God is no respector of persons. We are all one in Christ.
