  1. No matter how "good" we try to be we still sin, so we need to continually ask for forgiveness. If we can't forgive others, then we aren't forgiven...kind of like conditional forgiveness. Just as we're judged by the measurement of judgement we use, we're forgiven by the same measurement we use in forgiving others.
  2. We don't like appearing to others as though we are weak...we're full of pride. I don't think we consciously seek to be independent of God, but our pride is still there. We should ask God to give us our daily bread, so we can always remember that it is He who gives us the health, strenth, and ability to work to receive our bread. Utlimately, it is God who provides our bread.
  3. We are asking that He manifest the power and glory of His Kingdom in us. We can show the rest of the world (or at least our tiny portion of it) our Father's Kingdom. We're asking our Father's will to be done, because He's all-knowing and knows what each person or situation needs. We don't...so we want our Father's guidance. If we aren't "in tune" with our Father, then we're going to make tremendous mistakes. Everything we do, should be done through attempting to be "in tune" with God's will...at all times, not just when praying. Departing from answering the questions a moment. I read (and printed it...and hung it on the wall...and e-mailed it to all of my e-mail contacts) "Father's Love Letter"....what more can I say than....WOW!
  4. Using God's name in vain or at any time other than in praising Him, desecrates His name. To "hallow" the Father, we should clear our minds of worldly care and bring to focus that God is holy and exalted and we should respect Him for this. We need to put ourselves in the "right frame of mind" so to speak. Keeping ourselves in this frame of mind all day shows our lives and words "hallows" the name of our Father.
  5. Hi everyone. My name is Jane and I live in Arizona. This is my second study, and I'm hoping to learn as much in this one, as I did the first. Unlike what I've read about the rest of you, I haven't been following Christ's steps for the past 10 years or so. I was out there trying to be a good person, but not living up to the Christian standards. I have been working on getting right with Christ again. In doing so, I have already learned that my prayers aren't always answered the way I want them to be. In trying to get right with God, I've lost the man I love very much as well as the home we shared. It hurts now, but I know if I keep working hard at following Jesus, I'll have an eternal reward.
  6. I'd be more involved in church...less concerned about the obligations of my housework or my job.
  7. God gave us salvation. It's from God, not from anything we do. Holy living is important to God, because He is holy.
  8. He sees His church as being perfect...without blemish and an eternal community.
  9. The "water of life" is eternal life. It's a free gift, but we must willingly make the first move...we must want (desire) it and drink it. It's our choice. We need to help others hear about the gift that they too can freely have.
  10. All prophecy must come to pass, for God to be with us. I don't think I look forward to one promise more than any of the others...I look forward to them all.
  11. I can have assurance, because John 3:16 says that all I have to do, is be born again...believe in Him, and I'll not perish. It continues in verse 18 to say that there will be no judgment against anyone who believes in Him.
  12. It's frightening, because people sometimes doubt that they'll get to be in the Book of Life, due to something they've done in their past. The judgment seems frightening also, because for some of us, it's really beyond our full comprehension.
  13. Jesus is my King and Lord...above all else. I should be making Him the foux of every part of my life and the world around me.
  14. I'm encouraged, because it is something so wonderful to look forward to. It's a reminder that there is something at the end of our lives, that makes living them worthwhile. It's also a reminder that if we don't live right while on earth, we won't be able to attend.
  15. In trying to keep away from the evil system, we can make sure that people are more important than products; we can keep from pride in our own programs, plans, and successes; we can keep in mind that God's will and Word must never be compromised; we can remember that people are more important than money; we can do what's right...no matter what the cost; we can try to find a job that provides worthwhile products and services..not just things that feeds the world's desires. I sure do have a lot to work on!
  16. Throughout the Bible and history, music is instrumental (pardon the pun) in worshipping and praising God. All worship should include praise..."Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name....." Songs that came to mind were: Holy, Holy, Holy and Praise Him.
  17. It is hard for us to accept the idea of eternal punishment, because we are taught to see God's love, compassion, and forgiveness.
  18. We can see the 144,000 as a pattern of what our lives should be like...honest, without sexual immorality, not partakers in the sins of this world and followers of Jesus. We should be the part of the harvest that is wholly dedicated and given as an offering to God.
  19. The Antichrist is going to be in a position of political power. The fathse prphet will be in a position of religous power and will lead people to worship the Antichrist. Without their mark, people won't be able to buy or sell anything...they will controle the economy also.
  20. Satan is defeated and we have the victory, as long as we remain faithful and maintain our testimony for Jesus. Even if we die for our fatih, we turly live...because we'll have eternal life with Jesus. In dying, have have life eternal. The concept just boggles my mind!
  21. There will be a terrible battle in Heaven, and we can take great comfort in knowing that Satan will lose.
  22. They were clothed in burlap and prophesied or the 3.5 years...obviously, worldy possessions and concerns are of no importance to them. (A lesson I shamefully admit I needed.) They were faithful to their death. Their reward (which can be ours) was in going to be with Jesus...and it was right in front of their enemies!
  23. What's bitter, is the destruction of seas, fish, trees, people, etc....just because people won't repent. What is sweet, is that God has a purpose for doing all of this...when it's done, people will have everlasting life in the presence of God!!! Woo hoo!!
  24. The great multitude is the entire church. Amazing Grace...like Rev. 7:14, in that it praises God that He saved them...made them white as snow.
  25. The seal will protect them from God's wrath. They will still face persecution, but no punishment from God.
