  1. Q3. (2:18-20) How does being an employee "conscious of God" affect the way we act and react to injustice in the workplace? Can a conscientious Christian be a complainer? Why or why not? How do you usually react to prolonged, unfair treatment at your work? It make us want to do a good job first, Paul tells us to work as unto the Lord. We need to remember He is our first authority and we need to serve Him in all our efforts,no matter what kind of boss we have on the job. We need to refrain from complaining although it is very difficult, I have a terrible struggle here, Unfair treatment is also hard to take, but as we live for Christ we should be willing to suffer or tolerate these struggles as it grows our faith in Him who will make all things right
  2. Q2. (2:18) If we are to submit to our employers and respect them, what is that saying about God's expectation that we do a good job? In what sense do we dishonor God when we don't give our full effort to our jobs? When we submit to our employers and show proper respect we are showing our love of Christ and our willingness to do His will and serve Him with our lives. We dishonor Him when we don't do a good job or honor our emplyers we bring dishonor on ourselves and also on the christian community as a whole.
  3. Q1. (2:15-16) In what way is God's glory dependent upon us living submissive, obedient lives? How is God hurt when we get rebellious? God's glory comes from our obedience as we chose to obey and serve Him we bring Him glory. When we fail to serve Him and become rebellious we take away His glory and cause those who don't know Christ to justify their reasoning because of our actions.
  4. Q5. (2:12) How can the good deeds we commit by living openly as Christians increase God's praise. How does our "blending in" detract from God's praise? By showing the love of Christ to other in need we are showing our love for Christ. By doing good for others we lead them to show the same love we show them. When you love the unlovable it eventually effects them in a good way and they tend to come to love someone else the same way.
  5. Q4. (2:11) Read 1 Peter 2:11 carefully. The world tells us (1) to conform and (2) that sin won't hurt us. What does Peter tell us to combat these lies? How can this reminder help us? To abstain from sin of the world that it wars against our souls. Without a constant filling of God's word there is no conquering sin.We need to be in constant prayer and studying to remain strong against worldly sin and temptation.
  6. Q3. (2:9) What actions and attitudes should this idea of being part of God's own people inspire in us? An attitude of thanksgiving, and worship. How can we be made Royalty and not give thanks to the one who made us that way.
  7. Q2. (2:5) If your praise is primarily for God's benefit, not your own, how should you be offering praise? I think that through prayer, and singing is a good way to give praise to God but it also takes doing the works that He has prepared for us to do.We need to worship in a worthy manner that is also a praise to God. Praying Psalms 51:10-12, create in me a clean heart and mind and renew a right spirit in me is always my prayer. I continually want to be in right relationship with God through Christ. Its hard in a daily routine of working in the world so prayer is a constant need in renew my strength.
  8. Q1. (2.5) Christians often look at their relation to God as consumers, delighting in what God does for them. What is the mindset of a priest towards God? What actions does this mindset inspire in you? They are servants to God, doing His will and forgetting about the deeds of the world. They devote their lives to serving those who love God and seek to do His bidding. I think that we all are chosen to a higher calling, doing God's will in differant areas of our lives.Paul calls it the 5 foal ministry we can't all be priest but we can all serve.
  9. Q3. (1:17) Why are people in our culture so upset when they sense they are being judged by someone else? How do you reconcile final judgment with God's love for the world? Why must final judgment be at the core of the Good News of Jesus Christ? What happens to the Gospel when final judgment is left out or ignored? People just do not want others to descide if they are either good or bad in what they are doing. We do not want to be held accountable for our actions or to be told we have missed the mark. God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that says it all if He loves us that much then surley He has earned the right to descide what is just in each of our lives. Judgement must come because God is truly Holy and no sin can enter His presence, and only Jesus can make us holy He is our defender before the Father and without His shed blood we can never come before the Father. When final judgement is omitted from the gospel people lose a reason for faith in the attoning poweer of Christ, they get an I can do anything attitude and its ok.
  10. Q2. (1:15-16) In your own words, how would you define "holiness"? In what sense are you (by definition) holy now? In what sense must you be obedient in order to become holy? What is your biggest struggle with holiness? To me holiness is being without any sin what so ever in your life, I know for me this is impossible, I can only be holy by the grace of God and His Son Jesus. I am only holy when God the Father looks at me through the work of His Son,Jesus, and what He did for me on the cross. I must strive to obedient to the word of God living a life of love for God first and my neighbor second. Living everyday as if Jesus is coming back today longing for His return and the glory it will bring the Father. My struggle comes from living for myself, I tend to be drawn in to the world of what's in it for me and I need to have more things.
  11. Q1. (1:13) What about Christ's coming should get our undivided attention? Why should it inspire hope? Why should it inspire self-control and soberness? What happens in our lives when we don't really expect Christ to come soon? Our Salvation will be rewarded to the faithful. God's grace will finally be revealed when we join with others in praising and glorifying God. We need to be self controlled and motivated to live as pure a life as possible so that we will be there as workers of our faith drawing other to Christ through our lives and the faith we put into practice. When we live in doubt not expecting His return we are drawn into worldly **** and sin our faith is weakened by doubt and our lack of faith tells other in our life that we are not true believers.
  12. Q5. (1:8-9) According to 1 Peter 1:8-9, what is the basis of Christian joy that is "inexpressible and glorious"? How does this joy interplay with human emotions? Is it essentially emotional? How does it differ from what is generally regarded as the pursuit of "happiness"? Extra Credit: How can you tell the genuine article of joy from the counterfeit? The joy of knowing that our salvation is real and like it says in Romans 8 nothing can take us out of God's hands, we are kept till the return of Jesus our salvation is complete in what He has done for us not what we do our selves. We can be joyful in spirit as well and emotionally know that God is true and our salvation is won. Joy is different from happiness because this joy comes from the heart not from the mind it is brought alive be the Spirit not by something we are doing. The real is heart felt and shows up in our actions it is always there not just a sometimes thing it come out in our love for our fellowman not just our brother and sisters in Christ but in our dealing with unbelievers as we show them our love of Christ.
  13. Q4. (1:6-7) Can you remember any instances in which God used difficult circumstances to refine and purify your faith? What did God accomplish in your life? How, exactly, does genuine, tested faith bring glory to Jesus? Yes,many time I have went through the fire and my faith in God and prayer have kept me going. He has always been there with me just as he promised and when I come through and give Him praise and thanks I know he is like any proud father when his child accomplishes a new thing filled with pride. God used those times to grow me and my faith and instill in men that He is always there and will never leave me nor forsake me. Tested faith brings glory to Jesus when we like He finish or task that the Father has given us well.
  14. Q3. (1:5) According to 1 Peter 1:5, what is God's part in securing your salvation? What is your part? 1:5 said, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.I pray that God will shield me everyday, I struggle trying to be in relationship with Christ, not walking in the world. So without God's mercy and grace I like many will be lost, but I have faith that the Lord's word is true and that I can count on Him as my High Priest to deliver me from my sin.
  15. Q2. (1:2) Why do forgiveness (sprinkling) and obedience come together as a package? Why is it deceptive to think you can have one without the other? Extra credit: If true faith requires obedience, how can we say that we are saved by grace rather than works? (Ephesians 2:8-10) It takes forgiveness on our part in an act of obedience to be forgiven. It also must be a desire to be obedient to be forgiven. We can never be truly sinless till Jesus returns but we need to strive daily to walk in the love He walked in and live as free from sin as we can,Jesus said that the Spirit is willing but the body is weak. We need to build that strength by doing as James instructed us and building our faith in the grace of God.
  16. Q1. (1:1) How would you describe the behavior of a Christian who identifies more with his present homeland than his heavenly one? Have you ever caught yourself doing this? What has to happen to get our spiritual priorities straight? I would think that he is living in the world more than following Christ. Jesus said store up in heaven how can we do that if we only think of storing here. We do often get caught up in our family, jobs and duties to both that we lose focus on who the center of our lives should be Jesus. To keep our priorities straight we need to stay focused on Christ and the work He called us to do go and make disciples of all nations then we truly store up real treasures.
  17. Q3. (Numbers 25; Revelation 2:14) Though Balaam wouldn
  18. Q2. (Numbers 21:4-9; John 3:14-15) What precipitated the plague of snakes? Is being impatient with God
  19. Q1. (Numbers 20:1-13) What did God tell Moses to do to bring water out of the rock? What did Moses actually do? In what way did he sin? What emotions and attitudes were behind his sin, do you think? What must leaders do when they sin in these ways? He told him to carry the rod Aaron along with Aaron and speak to the rock. He struck the rock with the staff after stealing God's glory by saying must we bring water from this rock. disobedience, pride, unfaithfulness. He angry with the people, and let his pride get in the way. We must all repent when we let pride interfer with giving God His rightful praise and glory. He alone is Holy and True.
  20. Q1. (Numbers 11:11-15) Why do you think Moses is so frustrated in his prayer? What do you think is going on in him emotionally and physically at this point? Does he have any grounds for his complaints? Do you think this is designed to be a model prayer? Why are we shown this prayer? How did God answer him? He is becoming over whelmed with the people. He can't please everyone, he isn't God yet they complain to him as though he were. He is becoming tired of the bickering and complaining. He should know that all needs to do is go to God and God will help but he becomes angry and troubled with God. He has grounds but with the people not God, God has provided at every step and will not fail if he would only remain faithful. No, only to shows us that God is a loving God who will deal fairly with us even in our anger. He provided meat for the people, He told Moses He would give them meat for a month.
  21. Q4. (Leviticus 1:3-9) In the burnt offering for an individual's sin: What is the significance of the offerer laying his hand on the animal's head? Why do you think the offerer is to slay the sacrifice rather than having the priest do it? How is the animal's blood significant in sacrifice? In what ways does Jesus' sacrifice on the cross fulfill all of this? It represented the offerer passing his sins to the lamb that he was about to slay.he slays the lamb because his sin are the cause of the lambs death and with out the shedding of blood their can be no remission of his sin. Jesus is the lamb of God His blood is all that was needed to cleanse all of us of our sins.
  22. Q3. What does the arrangement of the furniture, the tabernacle, and the courtyard teach us about worship? Why do you come to the bronze altar and the laver or basin before you reach the tent itself? It was the order of worship to God that He laid out for the people. They represent the confession, cleansing, and forgiveness of sin before you enter the presence of God or the Holies of Holies.
  23. Q2. (Exodus 25:10-22) What is the significance of the Ark in the Holy of Holies? What did it represent? Why was it considered so holy? If no one really sat upon it, why was it so important? It was the dwelling place of God with man. Where He met with Moses and gave instruction for the people. It was Holy because it was where God sent His Spirit to speak to the people through Moses, it also contained the 10 Commandents, and later Aarons staff that budded. It was important because God had said that it was Here He would sit and judge the people and be their King.
