  1. Jesus' resurrection is the assurance I have that I will be physically resurrected rather than experience disembodied immortality. Jesus' resurrection is the promise of our own that God who raised Jesus from the dead will also raise me with Jesus. That Jesus is the "firstfruits" (1 Corinthians 15:20) and "firstborn" (Revelation 1:5) from the dead means that Jesus' resurrection from the dead is the first, but it is not the last. The rest of us will be physically resurrected like done to Jesus and will have eternal life together with him in God's presence.
  2. Christ's death and resurrection provides an analogy for baptism according to Romans 6:3-5 and Colossians 2:12 in this way. We was immersed in the water means we was united with him in his death, and then we was brought out of the water means we shall be united with him (in the future) in his resurrection. According to Ephesians 2:4-6 this union of being
  3. Christ's resurrection validates that we are saved and forgiven by God in the way that it vindicates our salvation and his forgiveness of our sins. Because of it we have confidence that our salvation and his forgiveness of our sins is not a pipe dream based on empty hopes. If we didn't believe Christ had been actually raised from the dead, we might have doubts about our salvation in the way that we might have doubt about that we were pardoned and blameless, about his forgiveness of our sins, about our justification
  4. If he were not raised from the dead is none, especially when he predicted it ahead of time, his ministry would have had none because his ministry could not have been proven. His ministry would have had ended, when he died on the cross. The resurrection is God's seal of approval on him in the way that the resurrection validates the claims about who Jesus was. The claims are God has made this Jesus, both Lord and Christ, God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior, he will judge the world, and he is Son of God.
  5. Of the various proofs for the resurrection, the post-resurrection of Christ is the most compelling to me, because it is the clearest and most convincing proof. Because of it those who saw him came to believe and then by the help of the Holy Spirit they proclaim his resurrection in fearless, so that by their witness many people believe in Jesus. Yes, I could explain why you're sure that Jesus was raised from the dead, if I had a friend who wasn't sure about the resurrection. I would explain that Jesus has been raised and give the remarkable fact of the empty tomb, the undisturbed grave clothes, the disciples' psychological state, the post-resurrection appearance of Christ, and the spread of Christianity.
  6. After the resurrection, the disciples were in hiding, discouraged, and disheartened. For them the Jesus' death meant that their hope and belief in Jesus was finished. Their psychological state was such that nothing could change it unless Jesus' resurrection. Their readiness to risk their lives and suffer martyrdom for their belief in Jesus, could happen by only the fact of the resurrection.
  7. The disciples had no motive to take Jesus' body, because of their faith they did not want to do that big liar due to their faith, they had no thought for that. The Romans had no motive either, because they did not care about what would happen after Jesus was buried and it had no benefit for them, and did not take risk. The Jews had no motive either, because they had no longer interest about Jesus after he was dead. Joseph of Arimathea had no motive, because of his faith like Jesus' disciples did not want to do that.
  8. The motivates liberal Christian scholars to explain away the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ are to convince people with the scientific reasons of their unbelief, to make unbelief seem respectable, and to draw other people to join them. They would claim that it is unhistorical more than some other event in the first century, because it cannot be demonstrated and written within the post-Enlightenment world view or the Western worldview that reject miracles or events that cannot be explained by science or in naturalistic terms
  9. The difference between Jesus' resurrection and his ascension is that Jesus' resurrection was when his body left the tomb and appeared alive to his disciples and others, never to die again. Jesus' ascension occurred about 40 days after his resurrection and took place just out side of Jerusalem near Bethany. The two fit together in a way that Jesus' resurrection refers to his victory over death, his ascension refers to his exaltation by his Father to the highest place. The ascension is the completion of the resurrection in a sense that the ascension bring him back to his original and rightful place in God's place after his resurrection from dead. If Jesus did not have the ascension, God's plan for him and also for human beings would not be finished.
  10. I know from the Gospels about the properties of Jesus' resurrection body, that his resurrection body is not completely different than his old physical body. It was as flesh and bones, he could eat, walk, talk, be touched and handled by others, do all things just as a normal body. Nevertheless it has new power and ability. He could disappear and appear at will, he could enter any rooms although they were limited by walls, locked doors. I agree that he had the ability to navigate in physical world, but was not limited to physical plane.
  11. The grave clothes brought Peter and John to faith. They gave Peter and John so special meaning or sign that Peter and John could not help not believing that Jesus had already been raised. The grave clothes in the tomb was so peculiar, because the position of them could not make the two possibilities to happen: Jesus' body had been stolen and Jesus had been in a comma and revived and then he had unwound the grave shroud in order to walk free. But it would happen by a only way, that is, Jesus' body was out of them by being raised.
  12. The similarities I find in the resurrection accounts are 1.Early on the first of the week, Easter morning, Maria Magdalena went to the tomb to see the dead body of Jesus 2.At that time the Jesus' body was found not be in the tomb 3.Jesus appeared to the woman before appeared to the disciples and then the woman told to the disciples this event but the disciples did not believe that Jesus rose 4.Jesus appeared to the disciples and showed his hands and feet, and finally the disciples believed Based on the agreements between the accounts, it seems to have happened that Jesus died, he was buried, he was raised on the third day, and he appeared to the disciples.
  13. The differences I find between the various resurrection accounts are these. Adding to the findings having been mentioned in the paper, the other differences I find are 1.The women meeting the angel. In the Synoptic Gospels, the women met the angel or angels, when the women arrived at the tomb. In John the woman did not meet the angel or angels, so she still suspected some people had taken Jesus' body out of the tomb. 2.The prohibition for the women to touch Jesus in his first appearance to them. In Matthew Jesus let the women clasp his feet, whereas in the John Jesus forbidden Maria to hold him 3.Jesus sending the disciples and giving them Holy Spirit. In the Synoptic Gospels, in his first appearance to the disciples Jesus had not sent them and had not given them the Holy Spirit, but In John Jesus had. I account for differences in eyewitness testimony by this way. Each of the eyewitnesses has his own tradition to testify and an certain angle of view in seeing an event. Also each of the writers of the Gospel has a different closeness to Jesus during his days These differences might add to the credibility of the witnesses by this way. The differences are minor that will happen if the eyewitnesses testify to any event that they all see. The differences validate the authentic of the story and prove no collusion among the eyewitnesses.
  14. Jesus' enemies heeded his prediction of being raised on the third day even more than disciples, because they did not believed him, for them Jesus was a deceiver or a trouble maker including his followers, they had to heed to what he said, so that they did not be deceived further or he made the condition worse. They had imagined what would happen by his
  15. That Jesus meant when he said, "I am the resurrection and the life"
  16. The result of resurrection for the righteous will be eternal life for their faith, and eternal rewards for their goodness and faithfulness.
  17. The nation that has sovereignty over the embassy and its property is none. The ambassador represents the government of his or her country in foreign country. He or she has responsibilities to act as an emissary, transmitting messages or negotiations, used of envoys, imperial legates, and business agents of his or her country. These relate to being an ambassador of Christ that the ambassador of Christ is the representative of Christ, the King of kings and the Lord of Lords, in this earth, that his or responsibility is acting as the emissary of the Kingdom of God, identifying himself or herself with Christ, transmitting Christ's messages, living a life like His as long as we live in this world.
  18. Paul would request prayer for boldness, because he, like us too, have a natural tendency to avoid pain and persecution, above all, death. Boldness is necessary in war, because without it we became weak in mental and body and cannot use our armors in a right way so that our enemies will be easy to defeat us. The opposite of boldness is fear. If this is our accustomed life-posture, our faith will not grow up even will be dead, and it will become a bad witness in Christianity faith to people around us.
  19. Alertness in prayer is vital to success in spiritual warfare, because with our mind wandering we pray for something wrong rr we pray in the wrong way, that our prayer is not effective. Perseverance in prayer is important to success, because Satan never let us defeat him with an easy way, he still has a great spiritual power to defeat us, unless we have a greater power than his that God give us through our perseverance as well as alertness in prayer. Perseverance in prayer means a proof that we pray earnestly. We need this exhortation, because we struggle with this alertness and perseverance
  20. The characteristic of a person who didn't have his feet ready to run with the Gospel would be busy with his own business, exclusive, powerless in spirituality, egoistic. Heart preparation makes me ready to share the Good News with those around me by understanding of righteousness in which we stand in Christ. This helps defeat the dominion of darkness by giving sure footing against darkness, deceit, and despair.
  21. Such simple things as truth and personal holiness are such powerful armament, because the truth that we know and hold firmly will protect us from the deceit of the devil. Then, personal holiness that we understand that we have got in Christ, will protect us from the accusation or persecution by Satan, and will protect us to live holy lives, be obedient, to walk in God's way rightly. These are offensive weapons.
  22. It is difficult about standing our ground in today's world to see the spiritual realm and understand the evil spiritual forces as the real struggle, so that we do not arm ourselves with God's weapon and fight they way he instruct, instead we fight with intellectual or psychological or methaphysical weapons. Standing our ground can be considered victory in a way that we remain standing at the end of the battle. The saints in Revelation 12:11 are considered victorious over the devil, because they overcame the devil They stood their ground because of the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony, and their readiness to give up their lives
