  1. God want us to tell the truth. There are times when people will be hurt if the truth is told. What do we do? So I will say, "If at all possible tell the truth."
  2. Excess of anything is not good. We want to be sober in mind. We want to honor God in all we do.
  3. Saul really sent David to battle to get him killed. Jealous will cause one to do crazy things. When we think we are hurting someone, God use it for our good. David was a great leader. God was with David. He was not killed in battle and they loved and respected him as a leader. When God is with and for us is more than the world against us. Praise God everybody. God is good.

  9. Posted 26 July 2012 - 08:16 AM Q1. (1 Samuel 15:22-23). What is rebellion? In what way is rebellion as bad as witchcraft or occult practices? What does rebellion have to do with arrogance? What can we do when we find rebellion against God in our hearts? What happens if we do nothing? Rebellion is doing it my way instead of what God has said. Rebellion is very serious, it is liken to witchcraft or occult practices. I see these as the work of the enemy. When we find rebellion against God in our heart we need to ask for forgiveness. God looks at the heart. When we are forgiven, God remembers it no more. If we do nothing it is counted against us. God said, "If you love me you will obey me."
  10. We should be like Paul, stand up for the truth. They seem to be going backward. They knew they were saved by their faith in God thru Jesus Christ and not works. Sometime we need to be reminded of what we already know.
  11. Paul source is from the only true God, just as His word is true. It was revealed and he was chosen to preach Jesus. Jesus....the truth and the light. This is not man made but from God. When we tell others about Jesus let it be according to the scripture and not our opinion.
  12. Q2. (2 Corinthians 1:9-10) How does facing a harrowing crisis help us grow in the Lord? How has a crisis helped your spiritual life? What is the value of learning not to rely on ourselves? What does this do to our pride? How does this improve our effectiveness as God’s servants Facing a harrowing crisis help us to realize just how much we need the Lord. There are times when we are depending on our own strength. With God all things are possible. It has helped my spiritual growth by teaching me to depend on God from where all my help comes. Pride before the fall...so just throw pride out the window. When we humble ourselves God can use us as His servant especially when telling others about the Good News.
  13. Q1. (2 Corinthians 1:3-7) What kind of comfort do you receive from your faith in God? From your personal daily relationship with God? How might you share the blessing of this kind of comfort with a friend or relative who is currently suffering? What words of comfort can you bring to others? I have comfort that God is in control and all is working for my good. It has cause my faith in God to develop and grow. When a person is suffering I can tell them how God has never left nor forsaken me. Even tho our situations may even get worse God is still with us. A word of comfort: Remember that God is always with us. It is always to help mature us too have a closer relationship with him.
  14. Q2. Why is it so difficult for some church leaders to confront people? What fears in this regard does a leader face? How can confrontation and rebuke be a good thing? What happens when we refuse to confront when we should? It is hard for some church leaders to confront people because we do not want to cause confusion. We may want to please or keep peace regardless. There are times when leaders have to confront people for the better of all. Some may fear that it may cause some to leave, lose friends and a decline in finance. It can be a good thing when it cause others to be responsible. When we refuse to confront then responsibilities are not being met or being carried out in the wrong way.
  15. Q1. (Exodus 7:6-7) Why did Moses blame God for his troubles? Why are Moses and Aaron so stubborn, do you think? Was it fear? Was it unbelief? Or both, perhaps? Why does God have to command Moses and Aaron? There are times when we are being obedient to God, things get worse than better. This was the case with Moses. The work had gotten harder for his people. And of course he blame God. We can be stubborn when the situation is not going our way. Who are we to question God? Maybe it was a little of both, fear and unbelief. Sometime what we have to do can be over whelming. God had to command them to go on and do what He told them to do and He would be with them. We have to go on even if we are feeling fear. We can not judge Moses and Aaron because we often time find ourselves in the same position. There are time obedient is easy and again it can be hard. However we look at it all is working for our good.
  16. has not set their status

  17. A shepherd keeps watch over his flock. He is their protector even in worse conditions. Jacob reaffirmed his great faith in the living God. Despite his self serving acts of his youth, God kept him. His faith has matured and God is still with him. Jehovah God is still faithful. I know God is my shepherd becasue when I look back (like Jacob) over my life I can see God's hand on my life. Even when all is not well as I see it, I still trust God. He is always working things out for my good. For this I give Him the glory. To be shepherded you have to be humble, submit and put you life in the Shepherd's hand.
  18. Q3. Why do we equate blessing with a lack of crisis in our lives? What are the effects of crises on our faith? How do they help us grow in our faith? Why do they sometimes destroy our faith? We equate blessing with lack of crisis in our lives, when we think like the world thinks. As we look around the world we hear a person is blessed when all is going well. Jesus was blessed but he sure went through a lot. Our lives can be blessed and still have crisis. Crisis can and will build our faith and trust in God if we allow it. Our attention has to be on God if we are to know we are blessed in the time of crisis. Thinking only of self and circumstances, we will began to feel God does not care and why am is this happening to me. Inorder for Joseph to get where God wanted him to be he had to experience crisis in his life. In the meantime he was being blessed. I know it got rough with Joseph but he was victorious. Anyone that does not know can't see this as a blessing. MY DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTER IN CHRIST, CRISIS WILL COME, STAY FOCUS ON GOD AND REMEMBER WE ARE BLESSED.
  19. Q2. (Genesis 48) Why does Jacob cross his hands when blessing Ephraim and Manasseh? Why does Joseph try to stop him? In what sense are Jacob's blessings an actual prophecy from God? http://www.joyfulheart.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=952 Jacob crossed his hand when blessing Ephraim and Manasseh to showing the order of the blessing. Jacob wanted Joseph's two sons to inherit the blessing God gave to Abraham, Issac and himself. Joseph tries to stop him when he realized his father's right hand was on the younger son but Jacob knew what he was doing. Again God over turned the expected order of things. The older would serve the younger, just as Jacob himself has been elevated over his older brothers so long ago.
  20. Q1. (Genesis 47:9) In what sense is life on earth like a "pilgrimage" or a journey with no permanent home? What happens to us when we settle down and get too comfortable with our lives? How do we retain a "journeying spirit" in our faith? Life on earth is like a "pilgrimage" in that this is not our permanent home. Especially not in the state it is in. Jesus had gone to prepare a place for us. Our home is a heavenly home. We do not want to get to comfortable with our lives because we will began to rely on self. We will not focus on God as the One that is keeping us. When we get to comfortable we give room for the enemy. We can retain a journeying spirit by getting into the Word and put our focus on God.
  21. Genesis 37:31-35) What does bringing the blood-stained robe to Jacob say about these sons
