  1. To dwell in the house of the Lord is to have a close relationship with the Lord. To read HIS Word, to pray and to obey HIM in all areas of our lives. A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP! Not just an introduction, but a trusting loving relationship. To seek HIS face is to pray, to again stay in a close relationship, to communicate with God. If we wait on the Lord and be courageous, (not give up or wimp out) God will strengthen our hearts. He will reward us and show us HIS power and glory and help us to walk in that glory!
  2. The wonder of creation I believe humbles the psalmist. I am fearfully and wonderfully made, He knew me before I was formed in my mothers womb! While I was yet so tiny that even my mother did not know of my existance, God knew me and was forming me. With all of this we are humbled and begin to know how much God loves and cares for us! Search my heart and cleanse me from every wicked thought. God knows me better than I know myself, so I ask YOU O GOD to examine me and cleanse me. Make me a vessel of honor for YOU
  3. The common thread is that there is nothing hidden from God! His creations speak forth His greatness and the creator knows all and then as the psalm turns a bit we see that the Word Of God also brings forth great truths and that nothing is hidden. God knows the thoughts and intents of the heart and knows the secret sins that we are so often too blind to see - but the Word OF GOD will reveal it to us. He knows that the Word of GOD will keep him and guide him in the directions that GOD wants him to go. He is assured and comforted in the fact that GOD is so great and that HE is able to take care of him. He is asking God to keep his heart and mind, to keep him pure before the Lord and to strenghten him in heart and in actions.
  4. It teaches us of the greatness of God. How awesome and wonderful and powerful He is. It teaches us of the smallness of man. We are so tiny and unimportant it would seem in comparison with the universe that God has created, but when we call on the name of Jesus or Jehovah we become great in strength and might. Not in ourselves but in Christ. Our responsibilities are to submit ourselves and our lives to God and to walk in the power that He has given to us through Christ!
  5. This is the question of all questions. How can God receive more glory in my church. I believe we need more prayer time and more time to just worship HIM. There are many ways God can receive glory. He can receive glory through the outreach ministries of any church and by the love that we show to others both within and without the four wall of the church. He also receives glory by HIS people worshiping HIM individually and corporately. I can Help bring this about by being a leader, and by being an example to others. By worshiping HIM myself, both privately and publicly. Also by teaching others to reach out in faith believing that God can do anything, and by giving HIM praise and glory before we even see the results. We need to empty ourselves of self and be filled with the HOLY SPIRIT.
  6. our prayers should be energized when we reallize that it is the Fathers good pleasure to give good gifts to those who believe. To know that He is able and willing to do all that we ask and imagine and then some. To know that our minds are not capable of understanding the greatness of HIS power should help us to pray with more faith and dertermination. To come to the throne room of God boldly - believing that HE can and will do that which is pleasing according to HIS will. When we limit God to our own ability we are actually faithless. We must learn to reach out beyond what we understand and beyond our thinking and step out in faith believing that with God all things are possible!
  7. Yes I have prayed for fellow Christians to be filled with all the fullness of God. In that prayer I am praying that they may realize how much God loves them and Who they are in Christ. To rethink their position in life and to become Victorious Christians instead of defeated, beat down, and down hearted. That God would strengthen their hearts and spirits so that they may be all that God wants them to be. If we can pray that kind of prayer and get people to walk in the fullness of Christ then they will be Victorious and God will be presented with a glorious body of believers striving for perfection and walking in the fullness of Christ.
  8. If we can grasp the love that Christ has for us then we can love HIM more and love others also. To know and understand the love of Christ will enable us to seek HIM and to help others. It changes our lives by the fact that we want to share this love with others no matter what obsacles stand in our way. No there is no end to Christ's love for a person. HE loves us with and everlasting love. I am 48 years old and have been a Christian for the most part of my life since I was 16, and every now and then God will whisper in my ear something that makes me stand in awe of how much HE loves me. I realize every day that I actually have no concept of the love that HE has for me. My mind is too small to fully understand it. But HE reveals it to me from time to time and I am so humbled by it.
  9. The inner man needs strengthening daily. It is so easy to loose the vision and to loose faith and joy. We need the strength of the Holy Spirit to keep us focused and on fire for HIM. Lord strengthen our hearts and our minds through Christ. Help us to have a vision and to stick with that vision. Give us a determination to see the kingdom of God flourish in our world. It is so easy for the cares of life to crowd Christ out of our hearts - not that we are not saved or that we have backslidden, but we get too focused on the things of this life and this present world and neglect the calling of Christ in our lives. It is established that we are saved but there is so much more that Christ has in store for us if we will seek HIM and obey HIM.
  10. Mark 16:17 talks about the signs that shall follow them that believe, and they are: In Christs name we will cast out devils, speak in new tongues, take up serpents and if we drink any deadly thing it will not harm us, lay hands on the sick and watch them recover. This is my prayer that we walk in this kind of power. I fully believe that we have the capabilities to walk in this power but because of a lack of prayer life we fail at it. This power is very essential to my faith. I have seen and felt this kind of power. I have prayed for people under the annointing of the Holy Spirit and seen them healed and I've seen them delivered from addictions. The more I step out in faith the more I will see. The more I pray the more I will see. Knowing the scripture and knowing what it says I can do then adding prayer to that, then stepping out in faith instead of sitting in fear is how I develope this faith. Sometimes I catch myself becoming lazy and not praying and studying then I have to repent and build up my faith again. I pray for the Holy Ghost to be stirred up in others that they may see and do the things that Christ has called us to do.
  11. If people think God is poverty stricken then there is no need to ask HIM for ANYthing. He will not supply our needs. There is no faith and no hope and will be no prayer. Why pray if God is not able to answer? A glorious inheritance motivates our lives because we know and believe that God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek HIM, and HIS rewards are not cheap. HE will enable us to accomplish whatever HE has placed in our hearts to do. So do it! As we pray and see God work we will pray all the more and see even greater things. Again I pray that the eyes of their hearts be opened. God, YOU open their eyes and give them a vision of the things you have in store for your children.
  12. My Christian hope is in Christ and in the hope of hearing HIM say "well done my faithful servant" I have hope that I will one day hear that so therefore if I am to hear HIM say "well done" then I must be about my Father's business. I am a doer. I must be busy doing something for God. That is the only time I am truly happy. That is what keeps me going when I want to quit. I will hear those words. My hope is not in my works, but in the grace HE has given me to do these works and to see HIS will accomplished in my life and in the lives of those around me. Christians with no hope are dead. They have no faith, or life obout them. They are miserable. I would pray that God give them hope. That HE open the eyes of their hearts. That HE lift the scales off their eyes and help them to see the glory that awaits us, and also to see what great things they can accomplish while we wait for that blessed hope!
  13. To pray from the heart for fellow Christians, to pray with a vision of great things for others, pray in love and for all to receive the spirit of wisdom and knowledge, and to have a revelation of who Christ is. I believe some people would come to know Christ, but I believe that with and through our prayers, many will come to know Him. I believe God Himself would ***** their hearts and call them forth without us but our prayers help to expidite things and cause greater results. This prayer is very important first of all because God calls us to pray for one another and for our enemies. Our prayers help to strengthen others and send help in a time of need.
  14. Yes Jesus Got special treatment. After all HE is the SON OF GOD! But I don't believe HE got anything that we don't get now! God will never leave us not forsake us. HE is out strength. HE has sent us the HOLY SPIRIT to strengthen us and encourage us. I myself have never been aware of an angelic presence but I do believe we entertain angels unaware, and like you said often times our angels are people who encourage us and know what to say and when to say it. I know there have been times in my life that the battle was so hard that God put a dome of love and protection around me. Sealed me in that dome and carried me through that time in my life. We too are Sons of God!!!!!
  15. Yes the Father was pleased. He is always pleased when we obey. It's ok to petition God for what we want so long as we realize that God knows best and we submit to God's will. I believe with any prayer we need to be "real" with God. Be honest and open before God. He doesn't get angry if we petition Him for another way or for any thing else for that matter. But as in all things we must be willing to lay our will down and obey HIS plan.
  16. This was not something that Jesus was looking forward to. He knew what type of death HE was about to face - the shame, humility, pain and agony, and the separation from the Father. Is there any other way we can save the world than this? He was in the process of dying to self. There has rarely been a time that I had to die to self that it isn't done kicking and screaming "I don't want to do this. Isn't there another way?" Christ was dealing with HIS human side. I can't say that HE was really resisting the Father's will. Jus maybe looking for another way to do it. But with every prayer HE said "nevertheless not my will but thine."
  17. 1. that they fall not into temptation 2. temptation to run, to fosake His teachings that they had spent so much time in. That they not give in to fear and doubt 3. That they not enter into temptation. We all are tempted, that is satans job, but we pray that we don't give in to it. 4. No they did not pray diligently 5. The Lord's prayer words it "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil 6. Because He knew that this was the time that the crucial decision would be made. He needed time alone with HIS Father. I have heard it said that it was in the garden that HE actually laid down HIS life. He died to self before the crucifiction at this time.
  18. The danger is in losing his job or even his life. He prays because he wants God's will done and he needs strength courage and wisdom. In short He needs Gods help. Four months of prayer he knows he is in tune with God and this is a "Lord this is it help me" kind of prayer. In four months I'm sure that with repentance and mercy he has been asking for wisdom and opportunity to do something about this situation. The opportunity has presented itself and this arrow prayer is kind of like "God you know what we've been talking about, here is the opportunity, Give me favor and help me" without going into a lengthy prayer.
  19. Both were in influential positions. God places His people in certain positions so that they may influence crucial decisions. They are sometimes God's mouth piece. Certainly if there are decisions to be made then they can pray and interceed for the right decisions to be made. Our responsibility is to God formost. When opportunity presents itself we must speak the truth and stand for what is right even when it is not popular or not what people in power want to hear. Sometimes it may cost us our jobs or a promotion but more times than not God takes care of us and covers us. In times llike this we pray for wisdom and opportunity. We also pray for divine favor and for favor with man. (bosses)
  20. Nehemiah appeals to God on the basis of God's own promises that He has made to Moses concerning the nation of Isreal. He uses his knowledge of the God's Word to remind God of His promises. We get huge results whe we pray the word of God. Calling forth HIS promises to us and calling forth HIS mercy and forgiveness. Praying Gods promises over our selves, families, churches, and nation.
  21. Nehemiah was burdened and heartbroken for the things that were going on. He fasted and wept and prayed to God almighty for forgiveness for the people and for help in this situation. We are to pray without ceasing so no it was not excessive. How can we ceasse to pray for people and their situations?
  22. His prayer was for forgiveness and restoration on the grounds of God's mercy and that these people bear God's name Gabriel came and told Daniel that His prayers have been heard and that he is greatly loved
  23. Daniel is part of a nation of sinners. He places himself in the middle of all that is wrong and feels the grief anf burden of those sins so that he can earnstly pray and ask for forgiveness for his people. Jesus who was without sin also took on the sins of the world so that we could be saved. Though He never sinned He took on the sins of the world. The righteous sacrifice for the unrighteous.
  24. Daniel comes to God with complete humilty He prepares by fasting unto the Lord, and confessing His sins and praising God It is important because Daniel was not pleading for a righteous cause but begging mercy for a people full of rebellion and sin. Fasting brings about humility and shows God that we are submissive to His will and purpose, and also shows God that we know how unworthy we are. The same way Daniel did - fasting, and confessing. This is something that needs to be taught more in the churches today but I know that when we fast we become more in tune with God and God blesses every effort that we put forth to seek His face. Fasting without prayer is a diet. Prayer and fasting is the key.
  25. Daniel knew and understood from the scripture that the 70 years of captivity were almost finished. unwavering prayer life and faith in God
