  1. 1. You may be in the middle of a storm or confusion, but when you reach the river and streams, you realize that where God is, there must be peace. 2. If we would only stop and be still, we would realize that God has all power and can handle anything, we then know that we can have peace in any situation. 3. If we know who God is and what he can do, we are assured that He is in control of everything.. 4. I know that if I praise Him and constantly remind my that God is in charge, not me alone. 5. He commands us to "be still" and don't worry-just trust Him, who is all powerful.
  2. 1. I surrender all to you Lord. I am resting in faith in the promises of God. Leaning solely on Him 2. It gives you peace to know that you have nothing to worry about because your life is in God's hands and He shall guide you in all things as long as you trust Him. 3. No matter what goes on in our lives, we have the assurance that while we are in His hands, we have peace to know that He will handle everything that comes along. We know that sometimes we can't handle our problems, but there is nothing too hard for God. If we put all of our trust in God, our souls should not be troubled.
  3. 1. The shepherd quiets his sheep and gives them confidence by leading them safely, protecting them from harm and danger, feeding them food and water, heals their bodies, and letting them rest in peaceful surroundings. 2. The Shepherd leads, protects, heals, rescues when lost, feeds them, restores and refreshes, guides, protects, provides rest and assurance. If we can just stop and think how God does all of these things for us daily. What a mighty God he is.
  4. 1. David quiets his inner person by being humble, not being proud, not worrying about things he doesn't understand, quiets his soul and puts all his trust the the Lord. He is determined to put all his hope in the Lord for as long as he lives. 2. Some of the elements in this psalm are rest, humility, hope and trust.
  5. 1. Christians are not immune to accident, persecution or death, because God's word says that there is a time for everything--a time to die, a time to weep, etc... God is more concerned about our souls than our earthly bodies. 2. I believe that they are protected, but God is in control and He has his reasons for everything. Also, some believers seem to lose their faith and God has to remind them that they can do nothing without him. 3. I truly believe that God protects us, because of many personal experiences that I have had and I know that God was the only one who brought me through. 4. God pull us out of or warns us of many situations where we might have been injured or killed. Sometimes when we think that he is not answering our prayers and later on we find out that its a good thing he didn't answer a certain prayer. He always knows what's ahead in our future.

  7. 1. This is actually my favorite psalm and whenever I feel confused, lonely or down, I always meditate on this psalm. I am assured that God is always watching over me and protecting me. 2. This is a powerful psalm. It makes me feel so humble to know that God is watching over me at all times, even when I sleep; even when I may be in danger and not know it; even when I make mistakes and don't realize it; and on top of all that He is a merciful God.
  8. 1. This teaches us that God protects us, but we must have faith in him continually. 2. If we have faith in God and put all our trust in him, we are able to vanquish our enemies. He has given us the ability to vanquish them ourselves with His help. 3. He promises to cover us, rescue, protect, answer, be with him in trouble, deliver & honor, satisfy and show us salvation. 4. Thi psalm assures me that as long as I keep my faith in God and trust only in him, He will keep all of His promises .
  9. 1. Even though the psalmist is going through struggles, he feels that God is like a high mountain. He may be very high but he is always close enough to protect him from any harm if he calls him. He trusts in his promises that God would never leave him or forsake him. 2. I feel that no matter what goes on in my life, I have the assurance that God will always hear me call and that eventually he will answer me. His ears are always listening to my cries and his wings are covering me in protection. It is just like a parent, who has a baby and she always has an ear open for the cry of her child. She is always there to take care and protect it from harm.
  10. 1. Dear Heavenly Father, We praise you, we honor you, we glorify you and we come before you humbly to ask you to forgive us for our sins and to create in us a clean heart. You know the hearts of your people and what they are in need of and we ask you to bless each one. Lord, deliver us from bickering, jealousy, gossiping and other things that keeps our eyes from you. Lord we repent of all our sins and ask that you revive us and restore us back the way we were when we first gave our lives to you. In Jesus Holy name, Amen. 2. Thankfullness for what he has done, humility, forgiveness, request for revival & salvation, and praise for what he will do. 3. This prayer is similar to 2 Chronicles 7:14 because it is humble and it asks to be delivered from their wicked ways and to be forgiven from sin. 4. We are being obedient and praying the way God's Word asks us to pray--in humbleness and sincerity.
  11. 1. We should go to God with a sincere heart and by being humble shows that we are serious about our request. Showing humility and having faith go together when approaching God. 2. When one is missing, our prayer does not appear effective.
  12. When I realize that God's thoughts and plans are focused on me, I have peace and I am very thankful that He even thinks about me. All I can do is thank Him and praise Him.
  13. When I realize that God's thoughts and plans are focused on me, I have peace and I am very thankful that He even thinks about me. All I can do is thank Him and praise Him.
  14. 1. David admits that he he was wrong and has sinned, but he also know that God is a merciful God and that he loves us inspite of the sins we have committed. It is similar to our raising our own children. David humbly went to God and repented for his sins and prayed for mercy. 2. Even though we commit sins, God is willing to forgive us if we repent and are humble and decease from sinning. In His word, he says that His grace is sufficient. Without his grace and mercy, many would be lost forever.
  15. 1. Whenever you think about all that God has done for us, you have to praise him. He loved us, He is faithful, He is righteous, and He saved us. He is the one and only Holy God and deserves praise. 2. Just think about the righteous judge is coming soon, who will set all injustice aright and bring final salvation. Just think about the peace and love there will be for all. 3. Praise is exuberant in our congregation. Every Sunday is a day of praise. 4. Our praise is so exuberant in our congregation because we have a lot of older people who have been through so much in their life and have a great deal to be thankful.
  16. 1. First of all I would try to live right in front of my children so that I would be an example of how to live and I would teach them right from wrong even if the world was telling them the opposite. I would also point to Proverbs where there are many lessons we should learn. 2. We should live a good life Always tell the truth Don't take part in gossiping Love your neighbor and treat them right Keep your word, if you promise to do or not to do something Cheat someone out of their money
  17. 1. Just the thought of how wonderful it would be if we could all live like this verse describes. People make it so hard, but actually it isn't. 2. Dwelling together is so difficult for some people because of all the different personalities. Some hate because of race, some because of religion, some because of jealousy over material things or money, etc.. If we could just put some of these things aside, we could all love each other and live together peacefully. 3. We must read and study our Bibles and live by the Word of God. We should have a pure heart and forgiving heart and learn to love one another. If we could join together under one spirit, we would be so strong that nothing could divide us. The main key is unity, which is very hard to do. People can't even have unity in the church, so you can imagine how it is in the world. 4. Striving for unity is difficult because sometimes it conflicts against purity as you deal with people with different personalities. Humans may grow weak and let the things of this world separate them from what is right. 5. Reconciliation and unity are such high values to God because he has told us more than once to love one another and dwell in peace and harmony.
  18. 1. We need to be reminded because it is so easy to be tempted to be led astray. We can be led by things that we used to do; following our friends; or just little things that we do and think are not important. Since we are human and can be tempted, it is so good that we are reminded in this verse that God is above and always watching. As long as we read our Bibles and meditate on the Word, we can remain strong. 2. When I think about verses 2 and 3, it gives me the assurance that as long as I meditate on his "laws" and live right, I will be prosperous no matter what problems or storms come my way.
  19. 1. Knowing that God loved us so much that he gave his only Son to die for us is all the proof you need that he loves us despite all of the things that we have done that may not be pleasing to him. We have the assurance that God's love is life-changing.
  20. 1. He is feeling down, depressed and he is struggling. He's seeking God earnestly with all his heart. 2. By worshipping and praising God, he begins to feel the spirit which has lifted him out of depression. 3. Yes, I felt all alone. I felt like I was in a dark pit and couldn't get out. 4. I arose early one morning and went for a walk and the entire time I talked to God and then I praised him and by the time I returned home, I felt like a new person.
  21. 1. David desired to draw near to God at all times. He wanted a close personal relationship with him. 2. To seek his presence; to be face to face with him. To desire a personal intimacy with him. 3. He wants us to have faith and be patient to wait on the Lord. In due time, you will be rewarded for he has promised that you would receive whatever you have asked of him.
  22. 1) We are requested to do everything good for doing his will, so that God can work in us and make sure that everyone can see your good deeds and continuallly praise God. 2) We should make it our aim to please God no matter where we are or what we are doing, because he loves us and has done so much for us and deserves all of the honor and the glory.
  23. 1) We are to make sacrifices of contantly giving verbal praise and to do good and share with others. Our lives should bring glory to God. 2) If we are sincere, these offerings please God tremendously and this should be our goal.
  24. 1) For the original readers, God delivered them out of slavery as he promised and they believed that He would take care of them forever. 2) I am assured that God said he would never leave me or forsake me, so since He promised this many years ago, He is still able to keep His promises today and in the future. 3) To me this is such a powerful statement when He said He is I AM. Who else can make that statement. I Am everything. He is the same yesterday and will be forever. Everytime I hear that it does something to me. It assures me that God is real and I could never doubt Him. 4) I believe in an all powerful God, who promised to never leave us or forsake us and I can trust that He will be with us forever and His power is still real.
