Q1. Let Your 'Yes' Be 'Yes'
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 6. The Spirit of Truthfulness and Love (5:33-48)
It means that as a Christian you should always speak the truth when you are speaking to someone. It means to be honest and loving in your words to others. The result will be your honesty in speaking. Your credibility will be unquestionable. -
Q2. Joined as One Flesh
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 5. Divorce and the Spirit of Marriage (5:27-32 with 19:1-12)
Yes, they sure do. This is making it into a religious ceremony. 100% I think really have been "joined together" by God. -
Jesus didn't agree with neither one of them. Rabbi Shammai sided with the way Jesus explained it. The exception Jesus gave for His prohibition of divorce is "if anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness. It relates to the same thing in Deuteronomy 24:1~if an man marries a woman who cause he finds something indecent about her.

Q5. Desire and Spiritual Life
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. Adultery, Lust, and the Spirit of Marriage (5:27-30)
We are to take this lustful spirit thing very seriously, He said that it is better to walk away from that kind of **** than to burn in hell for ever. Agape love is strong, faithful, has wisdom and know God's love and Word that is for them. -
Q4. Victory over Wrong Desires
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. Adultery, Lust, and the Spirit of Marriage (5:27-30)
The way I would councel a brother/sister would be to show that person in Scriputre in Matthew 5:28 what Jesus said about this kind of sex act. Then I would show that preson another Scripture in 1 John 1:9 where if we confess and repent our sins God is faithful to forgive us of that sin. The way I have protected myself and grand-children from this kind of temptation on the internet is Parental Control. I use my discernment when comes to the beach or poolside I'll have to be with Christians there, as far as TV it's not on that much, I'll rather read a book or find a Intercessory Prayer meeting somewhere. -
Q3. So-called Victimless Crime
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. Adultery, Lust, and the Spirit of Marriage (5:27-30)
According the Matthew 5:28, Jesus said that if anyone looks at a woman/man lustfully has already committed adultery in his/her heart. This means any kind of pronography from a man or woman. There is a lot wrong with going to prostitues for both men and women it is a sin and there will be punishment for this kind of sex. Look at what God told Moses to tell the Israelites in Leviticus 20:6,13. Look at what God told Moses in Numbers 15:39, Moses told them not to prostitute themselves by going after the **** of the flesh of their own hearst and eyes, if they do then they will be sinning against God. The victims in this "victimless" activity is a person that do not know where they are with God. If they are living with God in their lives everyday there will not be enough room for lustful activities but room for praise and worship to God each and everyday. -
Q2. Sexual Desire
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. Adultery, Lust, and the Spirit of Marriage (5:27-30)
I like the way Apostel Paul wrote about how to distinguish between that God given sexual desire and forbidden **** when he was talking to the Corinthians about sexual immorality in 1 Corinthains 16:18-19 and in Proverbs 6:25 Solomon warns us about the **** thats in our heart that can hold us captivate. I also like the way Paul wrote to the Corinthians about that God-given sexual desire on marriage in 1 Corinthians 7:2. 1 Corinthians Paul wrote about -
Q1. Adultery and Coveting
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. Adultery, Lust, and the Spirit of Marriage (5:27-30)
The point of similarity between adultry and **** is, according to Jesus, this is a form of adultry even if it is only in your heart. There is no difference, **** of the flesh is **** of the flesh. The way it breaks the 10 Commamdments is, this is a sin against God, as well as against the marriage partner. It also is breaking God's commandments inwardly is equivalent to breaking this commandment outwardly. -
Verses 12-22~ Jesus is talking about bringing upon yourself in a big way from God. Verses 23-24~ Jesus is talking about first go and be reconciled tp your brother/sister then come and offer your gift at the altar. To me the overarching theme of Jesus' teaching in our entire passage, verses 21-26 is showing love and respect to God and to other people.
-
The point Jesus is telling us is to try with all of your might to settle your differences carmly before you try going before a judge to get the matter settle on your behalf. Sometimes you both lose. Settling coming together in agreement on one accord; reconciliation. This is what a Christian should do if they are a child of God, see peace between your brothers and sisters.
-
If we are trying to attempt to worship God and had something against a brother/sister and don't ask God to forgive that person, it is impsssible to think that God will forgive you. The appropriate action to take is when you are praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him so that our Father in heaven may forgive you your sins (v25). We should ask that person to forgive you if you have offend them. Not there are not any situations that we shouldn't try to resolve.

Q2. Anger and Murder
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. The Spirit of the Law and Reconciliation (5:17-26)
To me the reason Jesus treat call someone a fool in the same classification as a murder is because both words (murders and fools) are subject to judgement by God (v21). Yes this does mean the same to God as an insult to Him. We would show more love, respect encouragement, and concern toward others for this is what is pleasing in the eyes by God. -
Q1. Beatitudes and Spiritual Fruit
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Paradoxical People: the Beatitudes (5:1-13)
To me the two parts of the Beatitudes are Declarations of Blessedness and Ethical Admonitions. To me Jesus made the Beatitude because He teaches a new heart attitude toward God and the people. To me the realationship of the Beatitudes to the Fruit of the Spirit are the same but they are worded different. -
Q5. Living to Please God
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 13. Let Us Love: Workings of Faith (13:1-25)
Living To Please God~ We are to offer God a sacrifice of praise with the fruit of our lips that confess His name, give Him glory and Honor, this is what pleases God. When we praise God, He will in return equip us with everything good for doing His will, and He may work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen -
Q4. Sacrifices of Praise and Good Deeds
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 13. Let Us Love: Workings of Faith (13:1-25)
Sacrifices of Praise and Good Deeds~We as Christians are to continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise with the fruit of our lips that confess His name. The effects we do by praiseing God should be shared with others for this with such sacrifices God is pleased. -
Q3. Yesterday, Today, Forever
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 13. Let Us Love: Workings of Faith (13:1-25)
Jesus~~ the same yesterday, today, forever; the significance of this vers for the orginal readers are, Jesus Christ is the same. A confession of the changelessness of Christ. Yester~ To me is that probably when the days when Jesus Christ's life were here on earth with His disciples. Today~ This is talking about the Christ whom eyewitnessed observed Him (2:3). Forever~ This will always be true. For me~ Jesus is always forever. For understanding just who Jesus is ~Always close by my side He is with me forever. For beliving in the power of God for today, by reading His words daily and praying. -
Q2. Greed and Security
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 13. Let Us Love: Workings of Faith (13:1-25)
We can recognize greed in ourselves when we start wanting more material things in live when God has supplied all of our needs but we want even moreof them. Thes signs are when you are not happy with waht you have already. Repentance is the best anitdote for greed in our lives and then turn away from that kind of greed. the earmakes of a greed-free life is to be content in everythingb that you have already. the basis of my security for my future is to store my treasure in heaven. The promises in found in verses 5-6 is "God will never leave me, nor will He never forsake me"; and "the Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid of what man do to me. -
Q1. Brotherly Love
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 13. Let Us Love: Workings of Faith (13:1-25)
We are showing love and concern relates to brotherly love. I am strong in holding a Christian conversation to strangers. I'm not weak in any of these arears/ Hospitality -
Q5. The Fear of God
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 12. Let Us Endure: Perseverance of Faith (12:3-29)
Yes to fear God is healthy, because we have greater responsibility and therefore greater danger of our salvation. If we refuse Him then we are in big danger of our salvation. This verse fits in with 1 John 4:8 as well"God is love", there is no fear of God's judgement because genuine love confirms salvation. -
Q4. Holiness and Salvation
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 12. Let Us Endure: Perseverance of Faith (12:3-29)
Yes the writer of Hebrew is teaching salvation by being holy, because without holiness no one will see God. Yes habitual sin can deprive us of heaven, because these are acts of sinful nature and they are very obvious, and those that do take any part in this kind of sin will not inherit the kingdom of God. -
Q3. God's Punishment and Discipline
Cee replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 12. Let Us Endure: Perseverance of Faith (12:3-29)
No that is not true, God does disciplines those He loves. If a parent loves a child, they will show with discipline to them sometime to correct the child's mistakes for them not to keep on repeating them. Now there is a difference between discipline and abuse of a child. Discipline is out of love and abuse is out of anger.
