Why is Paul so careful to be humble about his call and apostleship? Because he can still remember who he was before. And the things he did. How can his example help us remain as humble servants? It helps to see others as they were and to see the changes they made in their own lives to become a humble servant.
  2. Q2. (Ephesians 3:6) Just what is the "mystery" that Paul is talking about? Why was it important to the Gentile Christians in Paul's day? Just what is the "mystery" that Paul is talking about? Its refferring to the gentiles being joint heirs with the jews. That both are part or the inherietance into the kingdom of God. Why was it important to the Gentile Christians in Paul's day? 3. Q1. (Ephesians 3:2-5) Why is God's revelation to "his holy apostles and prophets" our authority for faith and practice? What is the danger of minimizing or straying from that revelation? What is the danger of superceding that revelation? What is the danger of denying that God reveals himself to us and to his church today? Why is God's revelation to "his holy apostles and prophets" our authority for faith and practice? His apostles and prophts were in close contact with Jesus. They listened to his words and know them to be truth. So we should be able to do the same. That way when he reveals something to us we know that we can believe what he tells us is the truth. What is the danger of minimizing or straying from that revelation? Not taking his word as his truth means we have believed in a lie. Its better to take his revealed word for what it is instead of accepting a lie. Not following what he says can cause us problems. What is the danger of superceding that revelation? Doing more than what he tells us to do will not get the best results. We are better off listen for what he says and do it and no more. What is the danger of denying that God reveals himself to us and to his church today? Denying his revealed word is as good as calling him a liar. Could put us and our churches in jepordy of those attending our churches not growing. Bot getting the lost saved.
  4. Q4. (Ephesians 2:22) What is the significance that your congregation was made to be "a dwelling place for God in the Spirit"? What hinders that from being fully experienced? What can you do to help that become more fully experienced and appreciated? What is the significance that your congregation was made to be "a dwelling place for God in the Spirit"? That we all come together in unity and worship the Lord as one in spirit and in truth. What hinders that from being fully experienced? When we come we need to come with a clear mind to worship him. But most times we go in with our minds cluttered, or maybe we are mad at someone. Both keep us from true worship. What can you do to help that become more fully experienced and appreciated? We can pray for the Holy Spirit to change our hearts and to remove anything that would keep us from worshiping like we should.
  5. Q3. (Ephesians 2:17) What does it mean to have "access to the Father"? In what way does the Holy Spirit facilitate this access? In what way does Jesus enable this access? What does it mean to have "access to the Father"? It means if we repent and be saved that we have a way to talk to him directly. We can pray to him believing he will answer our prayers. In what way does the Holy Spirit facilitate this access? He convicts our hearts to help us know that we are in need of being saved. In what way does Jesus enable this access? He went to the cross to die for our sins. He becomes our way to the throne room of God.

(Ephesians 2:14-15) In what sense did Jesus as Messiah "fulfill" the Mosaic Law? The laws were put into place to show how far we are from being sinless. It opened the door of salvation for all by becoming our spotless and with out blimsh Lamb of God.
  7. Q1. (Ephesians 2:11-12) Why does being out of touch with what it means to be "lost" impede our willingness to witness? In your own words, what is the spiritual condition of a friend or co-worker who doesn't know Christ? Q1. (Ephesians 2:11-12) Why does being out of touch with what it means to be "lost" impede our willingness to witness? We tend to look at what they are. Forgetting the way we were before being saved. In your own words, what is the spiritual condition of a friend or co-worker who doesn't know Christ? They are unaware of Jesus. They are living in sin and don't know they are spiritually dead.
  8. Q4. What exactly is faith? Can we take credit for having it? Can we be condemned for lacking it? Define "faith" in terms a 10-year-old could understand. What exactly is faith? Its believing in something we can't see. Can we take credit for having it? No, because its God's work in us, that changes us and gives us a new birth from God. Can we be condemned for lacking it? No, because in Rom 8:1 it says: [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Define "faith" in terms a 10-year-old could understand. Its believing something that you can't see. Its like going and jumping in a chair knowing it will hold you up.
  9. Q3. According to Ephesians 2:10, what were we created to do? Why? (Matthew 5:16) What is the difference between these works and the works Paul discredits in verse 9? Because our Father in heaven needed us to be his feet and his hands to do on earth to bring others into his kingdom. Where in verse 9 it was because some were doing good works to show out.
  10. Q2. "Saved" has become Christian jargon. How can you "translate" this word into modern speech so people can understand what it really means and why they need it? Being saved means we have been rescued from our sins. We have been rescued by Jesus, the Lamb of God. The only one perfect that could rescue us from staying in our sins and leading the life as he intended for us to. I am glad he rescued me. I love him so much. Without him i would still be living in my sins, instead i now have alove relationship with him.
  11. Q1. Why is it so hard for us to understand grace? What commonly held life principle does it demolish? Translate the word "grace" into language a 10-year-old child would understand. Why is it so hard for us to understand grace? We have trouble with it because we feel like we should have to do works to get anything. Its hard to grasp that it is ours for free. What commonly held life principle does it demolish? The price has already been paid so we don't need to do anything to get it. Translate the word "grace" into language a 10-year-old child would understand. Something you don't have to use your allowance on its free.
  12. Q4. (Ephesians 2:6) What does it mean that we are seated with Christ in "the heavenly realms"? What does this say about God's grace? What does this say about our spiritual authority? How should this knowledge affect our prayers and our boldness? (Ephesians 2:6) What does it mean that we are seated with Christ in "the heavenly realms"? Once we are saved we inherit everything that belongs to Jesus. We are raised up to the heavenly places where satan can't touch us. We have the same authority over the demons that he does. What does this say about God's grace? Gods grace is wonderful. It covers so much. It is always sufficient for anything we go through. We are blessed. And we need to live like it at all times.

  14. Q2. (Ephesians 2:1-3) Few people would knowingly follow Satan. How can people unwittingly follow Satan? In what sense are we responsible for unwitting rebellion against God? How can God, in all fairness, blame us? (Ephesians 2:1-3) Few people would knowingly follow Satan. How can people unwittingly follow Satan? Sometimes we allow our selves to fall for things we really have not learned is wrong. We don't know we are following satan. Without the Holy Spirit to lead and teach us we don't know where the thing will end up leading us to or that its satan we are following. In what sense are we responsible for unwitting rebellion against God? We are trapped into our sins. We desire to do the things that pleases us.We will continue the way we are going till the Holy Spirit takes a hold of our hearts and turns us around so that we know that we are living in rebellion to a jealous God. How can God, in all fairness, blame us? Because we choose our path. We all have free will to do as we desire to do. He created us for himself. It was his desire that we worship and serve him. But because of self will we live in sin. He is a fair God. He has a right to blame us. We did it.
  15. Q5. (Ephesians 1:22-23) When we neglect to be an active part of a local congregation, what particular blessings do we miss out on according to Paul in this verse? How do we, by our absence, withhold this blessing from others? (Ephesians 1:22-23) When we neglect to be an active part of a local congregation, what particular blessings do we miss out on according to Paul in this verse? We miss out on the fellowship and getting to learn what others know about the word. There is unity in coming together as a whole. If we don't we are not really a part of his body as we should be. How do we, by our absence, withhold this blessing from others? We are each one a part of his body in this world. Not joining in with others we keep them from functioning as a whole.
  16. Q1. (Ephesians 2:1-3) In what sense are our non-believing friends, neighbors, and relatives "dead"? What's the difference between us and them? If we really believed that they were "dead" and subject to God's "wrath," what would we do? (Ephesians 2:1-3) In what sense are our non-believing friends, neighbors, and relatives "dead"? They are blinded to the truth of God's word. They live by what they can see, what feels goof to them. What's the difference between us and them? We know the truth about God's word. We know sin, and try not to fall into it. If we really believed that they were "dead" and subject to God's "wrath," what would we do? We would step forward and witness to them about a God that can save them from their sins. We would show them the love of God and help them to want a relationship with him. So that they can have the love of God in them and forgiveness of their sins.
  17. Q4. (Ephesians 1:20-22) Why do we so often take a "pass" when it comes to spiritual warfare? Why is Christ's exaltation, demonstration of complete victory, and superior rank over all spiritual powers important enough for Paul to mention it to his readers? Why do we tend to feel powerless in the face of spiritual enemies? What was Paul assuring the Ephesians of? What does this encourage us to do? (Ephesians 1:20-22) Why do we so often take a "pass" when it comes to spiritual warfare? I think because we are afraid to stand up for ourselves. We become cowards to fight against an enemy we can't see. Why is Christ's exaltation, demonstration of complete victory, and superior rank over all spiritual powers important enough for Paul to mention it to his readers? Paul wants us to see that the battle has already been won. And that with Christ as the head of the church we can fight against anything that comes at us. Why do we tend to feel powerless in the face of spiritual enemies? Because we fear what we can't see. What was Paul assuring the Ephesians of? That they are not in this battle alone. That with Christ as the head its already won. What does this encourage us to do? That we con go forward and fight everything in our path knowing that Christ is with us in battle and will help us get the victory over anything we are going through.
  18. Q3. (Ephesians 1:18d) Why are we powerless sometimes? Is it an inadequacy with the source or with our faith? Why do some congregations and movements produce disciples with miracle-believing faith and others produce disciples with wimpy faith? How can this be changed? (Ephesians 1:18d) Why are we powerless sometimes? We are powerless because we don't fully trust him to take care of us like we should. We forget the one that can do for us what we can't. We try to go it alone and it never works the way it should. Is it an inadequacy with the source or with our faith? It with our faith. It is not where it should be. We don't depend on him like we should. Why do some congregations and movements produce disciples with miracle-believing faith and others produce disciples with wimpy faith? Because some have learned the secret of turning to him first to take care of them and others depend on their own strength. How can this be changed? This can be changed when we study like we should and spend time with him. Then we can learn to be trust him to take care of us. Then we will see more power flowing through our lives again.

(Ephesians 1:18c) If you knew that in a few years you would inherit $10 million, would it affect your life now? As for me i think i would want to live my life the way that would be worthy of such a large inheritance. How should our expectation of an inheritance in God's presence temper our present-day concerns? I would live my life worthy of him. I would do all i can to do what pleases him. I place my trust in the one that i know will take care of anything that concerns me. Since this inheritance will be shared with "the saints" -- our Christian family -- how should that affect our fellowship with them? It should draw us closer together. How should this hope effect our decisions and our lifestyle? How does our great hope differ from the hope of the average non-believer? What do we Christians have to look forward to? We have heaven to look forward to. To see him face to face. Oh what a day that shall be. How should this hope be a major motivation in our present-day lives? It should motive us to keep ourselves right with him. To strive each day to get closer to him. To know his ways and to live by them. How does our great hope differ from the hope of the average non-believer? The non-believer doesn't have any hope. Our hope is in Jesus and without him there is no hope. How should this hope effect our decisions and our lifestyle? We should want to make only the decisions that we know keep us in right standing with him and keep us living the way that pleases him.
