How has your Christian "hope" changed your way of living? It give me something to look forward to. Without hope in Christ we have no hope. It gives me a new way to think about things. What is the result of Christians with only a meager or minute hope? They have nothing to look forward to. I would not want to be without Christ. They see things from the negative side. Where we look to Jesus for our hope. How would you pray for hope to be borne in others? I would pray for them to be saved. And to learn to trust him. If we don't trust him we have no hope.

If Christians stopped praying for people to receive a revelation of God, would people come to know God on their own? Would God work in them at all? How important is this kind of prayer? What do you learn from Paul's manner of prayer for the Ephesian believers? I think he wants them and us to really know the word. So he prays for us to have wisdom and understanding. Without it we can't really say we know him at all. If Christians stopped praying for people to receive a revelation of God, would people come to know God on their own? How could they know, if we don't pray for them to know, or talk to them? We have to pray for others that the Holy Spirit will convict them of their need for a savior. Would God work in them at all? Yes i believe he can. He will use anyone that will let him. He is a God that can do the imposible through us if we will alllow him to. Thank you Jesus. How important is this kind of prayer? I think its very important. Cause they will never know if we don't pray for them to come to know him.

Do we get that help, too? Yes we do. They are there for us, just like they were for him.

When Jesus prayed "not my will, but yours be done," was the Father pleased? Yes, he was please. For he wanted to do what his Father set out for him to do. Why is the Father not pleased when we are passive and uncaring and dispassionate in our prayers that his will be done? He is not pleased because when we pray those kind of prayers. HE wants us to care about him. He wants us to come to him and show that we really care about him and what we ask him for. What is required for us to pray the prayer of submission with authenticity? He wants us to show that we care about our relationship to him. He wants to know that he is first in our lives and that we are not just out to get what we can from him.

It meant he this Father would turn his back on him, because of all our sins. He did not want to feel like he was all alone. Had to be a very hard time for him. What did this mean? He was willing to do go through this for us. To renew the fellowship between him and his Father and us. Why was Jesus resisting the Father's will? Or was he? No, he was not resisting, only asking. He was willing to do the will of the Father. To think he would go through this just for us. Is just to wonderful. His love for us is so amazing. Thank you Jesus for dying for us that we might have eternal life with you.

Why did he ask his disciples to pray? He knew what them and him would be facing. What temptation did Jesus know they would be facing? He know they would be tempted to turn away from him. What was the content of their prayer to be? For them to be able to not give into the temptation but to stand strong and face it. Did they actually pray this prayer diligently? They may have started out good, but got to tired to stay awake and fell asleep. How does the Lord's Prayer word this kind of prayer? Lead us not into temptation, and protect us from evil. Why do you think Jesus wanted to be alone during his own prayer? He want that time alone with his Father, knowing soon it would all happen. He cried out to his Father about things that was best for them not to know about. So he went private in his own prayer.

In what way does Daniel's situation compared to Esther's? They both risk their lives to try and save their people. Why does God place his people in strategic positions today in the community, in business, in the military, in government? He knows who he can depend on to do what needs to be done. He knows each of us and where we would be best at trying to get his work done according to his will for each of us. What responsibilities do we have to God that can cause danger to our positions and our lives? Any time we try to do what he has called us to do we risk our lives. But we should not let that stop us. Has this ever happened to you? no How do you pray in situations like this? You would need to pray for protection, and for him to open the hearts of the ones you witness to.

That God would do what he said he would do in bringing his people all back together again after they repented of their sins. He wanted to see this happen. How does he argue his case before God? He reminds God what he said he would do if they repented and returned to him. He prayed the word back to him. What do we learn from this about intercession? That we can pray his word back to him and he will forgive us and let us return to him again.

He knows that there is sins in the lives of his country men and he feels bad about it. So he prays and confesses the sins before God in hopes that he will fogive them. Why does he fast and weep? He knows it touches God when we take the time to fast and to weep. It shows him how sorry we really are. Isn't that excessive? No, it just shows that we are are sorry and want to come back to God.

Gabrial came to him giving him the understanding of what was taking place.

He had a heart that loved the people inspite of their sins. He desired to intercede for them. He wanted to see them turn from their sins. He didn't commitment them. In the same way Jesus loved and cared about us enough to intercede for us that we might turn from our sins and be restored to a right relationship with him.

What is Daniel's demeanor as he prays? He humbles himself so that he doesn't take anything with him that might cancel his prayer for the people. Why is this so important in this case? Because if he had gone to the Lord without humbling himself first. His pray might have not be heard. He didn't want anything blocking his prayer. How does he prepare? He had to prepare himself to go before the Lord without anything that hinders. He puts on sackcloth to show that he wants to come humbly before the Lord. In what ways might you and I prepare for intercession? Before intercession we to need to humble our selves. To fast and confess any sins that might be in our lives so that our prayers don't get blocked.

His prayer life.

Can a person be a genuine disciple without praying this kind of prayer? Why is this prayer of surrender to God so difficult to pray? Because i don't think we really want to know what are sins in our lives. We don't want to be made to feel guilty of anything. And if we pray a prayer of surrender. We are afraid of what we will be asked to give up. When was the first time you prayed this kind of prayer to God? When i gave my life to Jesus. What was the result? An immediate release from all guilt. Can a person be a genuine disciple without praying this kind of prayer? No, i don't think so. If we don't surrender the things wrong in our lives. Would be hard to show others how to live for Jesus if our own hearts are not right with him.

Why is such knowledge overwhelming to us? How does an awareness of God's involvement in your prenatal development meant to encourage you? It is so wonderful to think he knew me before i was born. That he made every part in me. I love him so much. It tells me I am going to be ok cause he knows everything that goes on inside of me. What might this mean to a young woman carrying a child? It should tell her that she is carring someone that is already special to God. And that should make her feel special as well. A young father-to-be? Should tell him that he had a part in creating a little one. He should know that this little one has been created by God and given to him and his wife to raise up to serve God. Why is such knowledge overwhelming to us? Becuase God knew us before our parents did.

In verses 5 and 10, how does God's hand touch the psalmist? By letting him know that he is always present with him. That he will never leave him or forsake him. By reaching down and protecting him and guiding him. Have you ever felt God's hand on you in a special way? yes Was it for your good? Its always for our good. Even when we are going through things that hurts us. What was it like? Just knowing he is there always to protect us and guide us. Brings peace to us.

Sometimes we know there is something in our lives that should not be there. We know God would not be pleased with us so we want to run and hide from him thinking it will keep him from seeing it. Why do people imagine that God doesn't know what they do? We forget that God sees all. Have you ever felt this way? Yes, I don't like feeling this way. But its like we forget he is even there at times.

How can unrighteousness prevent answered prayer if all gifts from God are by grace anyway? What is the basis on which Hezekiah asks for healing? He knew he needed to be healed in order to be able to lead the people in this war. Why is personal righteousness and holiness important in getting your prayers answered? If we are not right with God why should we expect him to answer our prayers? We have to keep ouselves right with God and strive to keep ourselves clean before him to get our prayers answered. How can unrighteousness prevent answered prayer if all gifts from God are by grace anyway? God can not answer if we keep doing what is wrong. Our prayers are blocked till we repent of our sins and turn back to him.

If he is not healed there will be no one there leading them. During a war they need someone helping them, showing them what needs to be done to win. How did it relate to God's promises to David? Maybe to see if he would have enough faith to heal him so that he could lead his people during this time of war.

And that he is the one true God. How are they important to faith? He knew that his God was bigger than the problem. So was willing to give it up to him to take care of. How are they important to God answering the prayer? We know he will do what he has told us he will do. He can't go back on his word ever.

He knew that God was the only one that could carry it. The only one that could see them through this battle. So he gave it to God for him to handle for him. What is the underlying principle illustrated here? That the battle belongs to the Lord. How can we apply this principle to our own lives? By giving everything to the Lord knowing he will take care of it and see us through it. What happens when we don't apply this principle? When we take it upon ourselves to handle it. We become stress out. And end up losing that battle. Its always best to go to him with it and let him carry us through.

In what sense do all your possessions belong to God? What then Should be your relationship to your possessions? How will these truths re-energize your giving? Your praise? Why is a person's attitude with regard to giving related to that person's attitude towards praise? We should offer everything we have up to him who gave it to us. We should do this with willing and thankful heart. Same way with our praises. We should lift them up to him with a thankful heart telling him how much we love him. Why does an attitude of possessiveness with regards to giving get in the way of worship? Because we are a selfish people. We forget it all came from him and we should give it back to him for him to use for his glory. We can't worship with a selfish attitude at the same time. In what sense do all your possessions belong to God? It all came from him to begin with. What then should be your relationship to your possessions? We should always remember they are not ours. They came from him. We have them to use, but not to possess us. How will these truths re-energize your giving? We should be willing to give him as much as we can knowing that he will bless us 10 fold. We should be willing to give all and more than he ask for because he gave his all for us when he went to the cross for our sins. Your praise? There should always be praise on our lips for the ones that has done so much for us. And the more we praise him the closer to him we can get. And he is so worthy of all our praises. Let all praise him with our whole hearts.

In what way do our prayers of praise "bless" God? When we praise him it tells him how much we love him. He delights in our praise. For he alone is worth of all praise. What do we mere humans have that God desires in a blessing? We have nothing that he didn't give us. He is our everything. All he has given us everything we should praise him for. What are prayers like, that don't include blessing God? They are selfish prayers. Selfish prayers never please God.
