  3. (1:22) Why are we so easily fooled into that listening to Bible teaching means that we are living out righteous lives? Self- deception is seeing the speck in someone elses eye and not the log in your own.

(1:5) What is the condition attached to this promise in verse 6? That we ask with faith. How do trials help us receive this wisdom? Trials test our faith, which causes us to lend more on God and draw from His peace. Which causes us to grow in our faith > love > and peace so we are able to receive His wisdom John 14:27, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid. 7. Q2. (1:13-15) Why do people blame God for evil? They don
  8. Q1. (1:2-4) What value have trials had in your life? They are helping me to produce the fruit of the Spirit. Have you let Satan destroy you with those trials? At times Satan has tried and came close to defeating me, in those times I cling to the scripture, and reach out to others whom our Lord can work through because, "He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world"(John 14:12) Or allowed God to refine you? I have allowed God to refine me because I have learned that the only way out of a situation is to go through it, with the strength and peace that Jesus left us with, that which comes through the Holy Spirit. How have you changed? I have and still am growing in His love. . . instead of turning bitter, I am turning better.
  9. Q5. Now that you're finished with the Faith of Abraham, what did you get out of this study of Abraham's life? The study really brought to life for me Abraham and his family and how nothing is new under the sun. [Ecc. 1:1-11 9 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. 10 Is there anything of which one can say, "Look! This is something new"? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time. It also showed me a humanness with all it
  10. Which of Abraham's achievements inspires you the most? That he followed God no matter what or where it took him. He listened to God and obeyed. As you reflect on his life, what stands out for you? His faith in our Lord and how it continues to grow throughout his life and life
  11. Q3 (24:12-14) What do you think of the servant's prayer and test of God? I think it shows faith and trust in God. All the servant is asking by the test of God is an affirmation. Affirmation is a good thing, this servant wants to make sure it is of God

  13. Take some time to review Sarah's life and legacy. What were her strengths? In the beginning Sara had faith, Heb.11: 1,
  14. How does Abraham's near sacrifice of his beloved, only son Isaac help you understand better Jesus' crucifixion? It helps us understand by teaching us the many lessons of faith, obedience, and the sacrifices of giving all of one's self in and because of love. God calls us to give everything we have to Him -- and we must obey. it all belongs to Him anyway; what we have is just on loan including our children. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Where God requires of us, he also blesses us. Psalms 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.[/i When we trust him, God will provide for every need we have. He is "The Lord by God. Matthew 6:25-34" Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? ... God's love for us is so great, that he would sacrifice his only Son for our sins. John 3:16:1"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. God wants us to trust Him with our most precious things this to me is family and friends. And even the unsaved. It is about trusting Him to do what He said He would do and has always done
  15. How have you learned to trust God to provide for you? I have learned to trust God through my trials and through prayer. How have you learned to trust God to provide for you? I have learned to trust God through my trials, through prayer and through a growing relationship with Him. How has he provided for you in the past? He has given me a Savior who in turn has given me life through His Spirit; a Spirit of hope, strength, forgiveness, mercy, comfort, guidance and deliverance. He has made a way for me to be able to conqueror my fears and live a life of growing in trust towards Him. [Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? (NIV)[/color] What are you facing right now that will require God to be your Provider, your Jehovah-Jireh? The Lord's will for mine and my husband's future work for the kingdom here on earth, as we face a career change for me and full time ministry work for him. And also the future of our young adult children and their relationship with our Lord. (After living in the same home and community for 22 years I starting packing our home up about 7 months ago, we are living with the very minimum, and waiting on the Lord for direction) Kind of like Noah, building the ark, waiting on the Lord...
  16. Can we really know God until we can trust him with our whole lives? I don
  17. What effect does Satan want trials to have in our life? He wants us to be defeated, depressed and with a negative attitude. What effect does God want them to have? God wants our trials to strengthen us and to bring us closer to Him also, as to help us grow in the Fruit of the Spirit so we are able to show His glory, His character, and his love through our trails. The effect really depends upon how we respond to the trial. Have you ever been through a trial that strengthens and invigorates you at the end? Yes, of course . . . you can either turn bitter or better, what doesn
  18. How does the realization that God is El-Olam, the Eternal God, effect you? It gives me a sense of peace and security in as well strength to face the enemy. How does it alter the way you live your life? I try to live my life with the blessings of His forgiveness and because of His sacrifice and forgiveness to me. . .I want to please Him in all I do. . . even though I fall short and continue to be growing in the process of perfection.
  19. What motivates Sarah to demand Ishmael's expulsion from Abraham's family encampment? She is jealous, hurt, and angered. . . things are not going as planned. Is she righteous in this? To some extent, . . . but I think she handled the situation in an immature way as well as self-righteous . . . not wanting to take responsibility for her part in the situation that has brought it to this point. It is easier to blame someone for the rot of the world . . . rather then be submissive and accertive at the same time. Children are children, and don
  20. Q4. (19:30-38) Why did Lot's daughters turn to incest? They were fearful that they would loose their family line so they took matters into their own hands instead of going to God with their problem. What does this tell us about their values? 21. After being nearly delivered, why did Lot's wife stop and gaze rather than escaping? It was the city of her birth, somewhere she has always known, her comfort zone, her life and the life of others whom she loved. Even though it was a sinful place maybe she just wasn't grounded enough in God and his ways to gain the strength she needed to totally obey. What was in her heart? Grief Have you ever struggled with this in your heart? Yes, as a woman it
  22. (19:15-16) Why did Lot and his family hesitate? Denial of the real circumstances, comfort in the dysfunction, Fear of the unknown Have you ever hesitated when you should have been fleeing a danger? Yes, at times when I have doubted the intensity of the danger and have tried to look for the good instead and at times when temptation was great . . . it takes great faith and strength in the Lord to overcome these dangers. What is the lesson for us? Do not quench the Spirit . . .listen to the inner voice inside of us; is it of self, Satan or God.
