  1. The significance of the same quality of worship being offered to both God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son is used to solidify that both are one and the same. God stayed in Heaven while Jesus came to the earth. They work together to draw us together so we will live in the kingdom forever.
  2. The significance of the same quality of worship being offered to both God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son is used to solidify that both are one and the same. They are a piece of each other-God stayed in Heaven and Jesus came to earth. They work together to draw us together so we will live in their kingdom forever.
  3. Our destiny as believers can include reigning by giving all the glory and honor to God. We could reign as worshippers of the Lord and as obedient servants to fulfill His will. We serve as priests individually to glorify the Lord. We are a kingdom because we all live in the presence of the Almighty God.
  4. By dying on the cross for our sins, Jesus was made worthy of opening the scrolls and thus bringing history to its consummation. This act was so noteworthy and praiseworthy because it made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God and to reign on the earth.
  5. I originally came up with Holy, Holy, Holy, but thought of some others, but couldn't think of their names. I am glad to see so many though!!!
  6. Some things I saw in regard to worship are: being in the spirit; giving God glory, honor, and thanks; praying; gathering; singing; and humbling before the presence of God. Christian worship is designed to humble ourselves before the Lord so we can be in His presence to honor and adore Him.
  7. The churches are criticized for idolatry, unfaithfulness, disobedience, and complacency. They were praised for being faithful, doing good works, perserverence, and keeping God's word. These observations should shape the 21st century church by helping leaders and congragations stay focused on what is expected and rewarded from the Lord. It gives us a reference point.
  8. So many churches are hotbeds of apathy because they are more concerned with the congregation' appearance and/or status rather than with outreach and service. We can combat spiritual apathy and insipid witness in ourselves by helping others, sharing our faith, and attempting earnestly to live how God wants us to live.
  9. Religious compromise was so spiritually destructive because the more you compromise the less one feels other things are wrong. Compromises 21st century Christians struggle with are taking out "in God we trust" of currency, not allowing prayer in schools, commercialism, etc. Real compromises that dilute vital Christianity are taking God out of everyday processes so non-Christians will be comfortable, social acceptance of adulterers, idolators, thieves, and the ever-present double standards.
  10. The loosening of sexual standards can be destructive of vital Christian faith and witness because it leads to adultery and low moral character. My culture has tended to quiet my own Christian moral convictions by claiming premarital sex is acceptable as long as you practice "safe" sex. We see sex everywhere. On TV, radio, in magazines and books, on billboards, etc.
  11. A congragation can lose it's "first love" for Jesus by concentrating on the faults of people. The signs of genuine love are compassion and love for one another, despite one's faults. The lack of love shows up by thinking we are spritually or situationally better than others. A congregation can regain this love by humbling themselves and showing compassion and love for their neighbors.
  12. The significance of the exalted Jesus walking among the lampstands is that He is among the place where his Father called us to worship. The church is where we get together to worship the Lord and sing His praises. This teaches us that He stays with us at all times: where God's word is spoken, where praise and glory are given to Him, where His people should want to go to be in His presence.
  13. The vision of Jesus is different in Revelation because his role is different. Carpenters build, teachers teach. Throughout the Bible He is building hispeople and teaching them His ways. In Revelation He is now carrying out judgement of all people on earth! Jesus among the lampstands evoked in me, that He is among his people and his Father's house. He is omnipotent and right. This understanding is important because Jesus builds us up and teaches us the ways of God's word. But we have to remember that we must have true faith for judgement will come in the end.
  14. I believe there is persecution/tribulation everywhere in the world. But if I have to have a specific answer I would say Israel, the Middle East and Asia. The book of Revelation can be of comfort and encourage ment because judgement is coming soon and that those who stay strong in their faith will overcome their adversity and be victorious with the Lord.
  15. Revelation 1:8 tells us that he is the beginning and the end, the Almighty. Jesus is the one who is coming back to judge. He will decide whom has carried out his Father's will and hand judgement out accordingly. God is also the beginning and the end, but will send his son, Jesus Christ, to judge the world.
  16. To testify and witness God's word is important to understand that victory is already ours as long as their is faith and perseverence in the Lord. Jesus is supposed to encourage us because He has God's glory and power forever. We are afraid to witness because of fear. Fear of rejection by our peers, fear of failure to influence and reflect the love of the Lord, and fear of being held accountable for our actions.
  17. Hi! My name is Heather Dills and I live in Riverview, Florida, USA. I have a wonderful husband of almost four years, but no chiuldren. ( Hopefully God will answer that prayer in His time.) I have always been fascinated by the book of Revelation and hope to learn many things from this study. This is my first online Bible study and am very excited about it. God Bless!!
