  1. Jesus' sinlessness is so important to understanding my salvation because He was perfect, yet still was persecuted by man. I think Jesus was overwhelmed by His sadness and mercy for me when my sins were poured into his soul. A sinless Man could stand this kind of corruption through the power and grace of Almighty God!!!
  2. According to 2:21 Jesus suffered for me personally not only in the physical pain of His death, but also in the spiritual as well. Christ not only took our physical troubles for our healing, but took all of our sins and troubles and paid for them with His life!
  3. Christ's example speaks to my situation becuase it makes me want to trust God. My behavior is going to be different because of what I see in Jesus' character in this passage in that I am going to try to stay calm and not let people get to me. I want God's grace and spirit with me at all times, especially at work because that is where I am most vulnerable to attack.
  4. Being an employee "conscious of God" affects the way we act and react to injustice in the workplace because we cannot do anything that compromises our morals. A conscientious Christian cannot be a complainer because we are to submit to authority--good or bad. I usually react to prolonged, unfair treatment at work by changing my place of employment when it becomes obvious that nothing is going to make the situation better and I have peace about it.
  5. If we are to submit to our employers and respect them, it is saying that God's expectation that we do a good job is to apply ourselves in excellence and to the best of our abilities through our dependence on Him. We dishonor God when we don't give our full effort to our jobs becuase we are not relying on His strength nor are we acting in the spirit of Christ.
  6. God's glory is dependent upon us living submissive, obedient lives in that it is representative of His true character. God is hurt when we get rebellious because we are not fully relying on Him to meet our needs and are acting against His character.
  7. The good deeds we commit by living openly as Christians increase God's praise by proving to nonbelievers that there is honor and blessing by being faithful and obedient to the Lord. Our "blending in" detract from God's praise because we cannot reveal His glory in our lives unless we fully rely on Him for our needs.
  8. Peter tells us to stay away from sin and that we are only visiting the world to combat these lies. This reminder can help us by helping us realize that we are only here for a short time. It is only a matter of time before we are reunited woth the heavenly Father.
  9. Actions and attitudes the idea of being part of God's own people should inspire in us are obedience, service, gratitude, and humility.
  10. I should be offering praise wholeheartedly. I get so caught up with what is going on in my life, that I forget that everything is in God's hands to let go and let Him!
  11. The mindset of a priest towards God is one of service and obedience. This mindset inspires me to want to stop being selfish and to help others to not only find their way to God, but to become focused upon Him.
  12. I have felt I was of no worth or value, but 1 Peter 1:18-19 says that I am of immeasurable worth given to me through the blood of Christ. It says that God loves me so much that He sent His son to die for my salvation. It indicates that the long-term value of your balance sheet and financial assets are insignificant to the eternal blessings I have waiting for me in Heaven. My true long-term investments are faith and obedience because that is just the tip of the gratitude and love I want to bestow on the Lord.
  13. People in our culture get so upset when they sense they are being judged by someone else becuase their spirit knows that it is not our place to judge them. I reconcile final judgment with God's love for the world by His word. Final judgment must be at the core of the Good News of Jesus Christ because it is the foundation of salvation. When final judgment is left out or ignored the Gospel loses its purpose. Christ Jesus came to the world to save us from judgment of our sins. They are intertwined with our salvation.
  14. I would you define "holiness" as living in accordance to the will of God. I am holy now through my faith in Christ. I must be obedient to the Word of God in order to become holy. My biggest struggle with holiness is not fully relying on the Lord to meet my needs.
  15. Christ's coming should get our undivided attention because when He comes it will be in the blink of an eye. It should inspire hope because Christ is coming back for those who believe in Him and have lived according to their faith. This should inspire us into soberness because we have to be always ready for His arrival. When He comes it will be too late for the coulda, shoulda, woulda's. When we really don't expect Him to come soon we get complacent and indulge ourselves in sin thinking that we always have tomorrow. Well there may not be a tomorrow.
  16. I got my stuff mixed up---i posted this answer to Question 5
  17. God is using my debt to refine and purify my faith. God is accomplishing my dependence on Him. Genuine, tested faith brings glory to Jesus because when He brings us through we praise Him and bring Him all His glory.
  18. God's part was sending Christ Jesus as a sacrifice to atone for our sins. My part is to have faith in Him and to be obedient to His will.
  19. Forgiveness and obedience come together as a package because our forgiveness comes with a price-to be faithful and obey the Lord. It is deceptive to think you can have one without the other becuase if you do not obey you will not receive your full blessings and grace from God. We can say that we are saved by grace rather than works because our works come through our faith.
  20. The behavior of a Christian who identifies more with his present homeland than his heavenly one compromises his morals to fit in with the societal norm to appeal to the general consensus of thier society. I have caught myself doing this. One has to repent adn try again to get our spiritual priorities straight.
  21. The Lamb is God and sits on the right of Him. Jesus said that He and His Father are One.
  22. Reigning on earth means setting the example on how to live for God. We are priests in the sense that we can act in His name because we are in tune with His spirit. We are reigning now to prepare for reigning with Him later!
  23. The lamb itself represents .... Christ Standing after being slain indicates ... Ressurrection Horns represent .... Power and strength Eyes represent ... Omnipotence The number seven carries the idea of ... Perfection To summarize, then, the Lamb has the qualities of being of ... The Son of God
  24. The Lamb is called the Lion of the tribe of Judah because it was prophesied that the Messiah would one day come from the tribe of Judah. The Lamb is also called the "root of Jesse", because He was a descendent from the line of David, son of Jesse. Jesus is the fulfillment of these prophesies.
