The passages that point to Salvation by grace are:

Rev. 21:27- Stating, "Only those who's names are in the book of life."

Rev. 2:14-15- "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life."

1 Corinthians 6:11- "And that's what some of you were, (sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, prostitutes, homosexual offenders, thieves, greedy, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers) but you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God."

Holy living is important to Salvation because they go hand in hand. We, when CHOOSING Salvation, are washed, are sanctified, and are justified in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit. But we must choose and be sincere in that. It's not "law keeping" but it's joy to be made more like Him, knowing Him and loving Him more and more.

Why is holy living important to God? Be holy for I am Holy. To be a part of Him and He in us is to be like Him. It's a process, a journey and part of being sanctified, but if you truly believe on the name of Jesus Christ, you will be saved and your name written in the book of life. When you wash your robes in the blood of the Lamb, you will be grateful and to be changed will be the cry of your heart. As we are sanctified, we become Holy as He is Holy and in eternity will have the right to the tree of life.

Salvation in Jesus Christ comes through faith by the grace of God our Father. Right living cannot come through effort; it can only be done with the unmerited favor of God working in us through His Holy Spirit. Sin cannot face God because He is Holy (period)! We must be holy if we want to see Him. As we work out our salvation in fear and trembling, we draw on the grace and power of the Holy Spirit who is working in us to sanctify, purifies and transform us into the image of God. Holiness is who God is, it is a facet of His personality and He cannot be separated from it! When we live holy lives we bring glory to His name and represent our God to a lost world.

Q4. Three times in these two chapters, John stresses that those who continue to practice sin will not enter. Read Revelation 21:8, 27; 22:14-15; and 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. What things in these passages point to salvation by the grace of God rather than mere salvation by right living? In what way is holy living important to salvation? Why is holy living important to God?

There are sin that as children of God we are to do they are listed in all of the above scriptures Holy living is important

because we are to living the way that Jesus live on earth. Jesus left us the Bible to live by, Also his disciple and also

so woman are also listed as example for us to follow. It is important to God because if we are not Holy we can not enter heaven

and our names is not written in the lamb book of life.

Our human nature is sinful which it is stated very clearly in those verses. But, God's grace and mercy through Christ saves us from damnation. Holy living is important if you expect to enter heaven. Holy living is important to God because He is Holy.

I Corinthians 6:11 most clearly points to salvation by the grace of God rather than by right living.  "And such were some of you.  But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the spirit of our God." (NKJ).

For those who repent of their sin and accept Jesus' atoning sacrifice on the cross for their sin the Holy Spirit enters that person's life and begins to remake them into a Christ like human being.  A life pleasing to God. God sees that person as clean and justified before Him in Christ.  The ways of this world no longer begin to characterize the believer.  Temptation and sin are still issues to be dealt with by the believer, but no longer should drive the believer.  A relationship with God should drive the believer.  Being in the will of God should drive the believer.

How we live and the choices we make reflect what we really believe and whether we really have a relationship with God.

Holy living is a reflection of the love for God and the Holy Spirit's presence in the believer.  As the believer turns all areas of their life over to God, the life of the believer more and more takes on the characteristics of God the Father.

Holy living is important to God because He is Holy.  In holiness is spiritual and physical health and goodness and life.  Holy living maintains a strong relationship with God.  God is light and in Him is no darkness.

In Heaven there will be no darkness.
