Q2. Fulfillment of the Lord's Supper

Recommended Posts

  • 5 months later...

The Lord's Supper finds it's fulfillment in the Great Banquet as a gathering of the redeemed of the Lord in the presence of God on the Last Day, the culmination and fulfillment of the incarnation, the cross, and the resurrection.

Our thoughts should reflect what was (the Last Supper and the crucifixion), what is (the gift Christ has given each and every one of us), and what is to come (eternity with Christ).

(Luke 22:16) In what sense does the Lord's Supper find its "fulfillment" in the Great Banquet at the end of the age?

In the Great Banquet at the end of the age we will be drinking wine with Jesus at this great event. When we take communion we are Jesus bride preparing ourselves for the great banquet.

What should this do to our thoughts at the Lord's Table?

We are very special and should remember the great celebration when we finally see our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

It finds the fulfillment of the incarnatrion, the cross, and the resurrection. Everything that Jesus Christ did for us in in the Great Banquet. Our thoughts should be of thankfulness, respect, giving glory and praise to God.

Q2. (Luke 22:16) In what sense does the Lord's Supper find its "fulfillment" in the Great Banquet at the end of the age? What should this do to our thoughts at the Lord's Table?

Luke 22:16 - For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God."

In what sense does the Lord's Supper find its "fulfillment" in the Great Banquet at the end of the age? When we are celebrating the Lord's Supper, we are remembering Him for everything He did for us. It is only remembering. When we sit down with Him at the Great Banquet, He will be there and eating with us, just like He did with His 12 disciples at the original Last Supper. This will be the great fulfillment tnat we will ever experience.

What should this do to our thoughts at the Lord's Table? Confessing our sins and being right with our fellow mankind, so we can have that wonderful and amazing privilege to be at the Great Banquet and being served by our Lord and Saviour.

Q2. (Luke 22:16)

In what sense does the Lord's Supper find its "fulfillment" in the Great Banquet at the end of the age?

The Jews had celebrated the Passover for centuries. They were commemorating the fact that God had delivered them from Egypt through the blood of the spotless lamb. But we have the true Passover Lamb whose blood was shed for the salvation of all who put their trust in Him. The Lord

Q2. (Luke 22:16) In what sense does the Lord's Supper find its "fulfillment" in the Great Banquet at the end of the age?

The Lord's Supper find its "fulfillment" in the Great Banquet at the end of the age because the very first time that Jesus will drink of wine and eat will be with those He as invited to the banquet and they have accepted.

What should this do to our thoughts at the Lord's Table?

We should look forward to the day when we will sit around the Great Banquet with the Lord as our Host.

The Lord's Supper finds its fulfillement when we as believers all sit together at the Great Banquet to share in the promises of Christ Jesus. This brings to fruition all that He willingly gave for us as we sit and share the body and the blood with a risen Savior. This should make us have a reverance and awe at the sacrifice that Christ Jesus made for us. It isn't just a duty.....but a joy.

The banquet is fulfilled when the redeemed in Christ are in His and the Father’s presence fellowshipping together for eternity.  One can only think that this will be unspeakable beyond words, no more sin, or spiritual warfare, a glorious body that won’t decay, living in the supernatural, makes me wonder what else God has next on His agenda after all this takes place.

The Lord's Supper finds fulfillment in the Great Banquet in that the new earth has come into completion.  The old earth has passed away, the resurrection of the dead has occurred.  We are now with the Father. Each time I take Holy Communion I think of what Jesus did for me, how he suffered, died and was resurrected.  I think of the last meal he had with his disciples and how he will not partake of the fruit of the vine until he has it with me.

The ultimate meal will be the one that true Christians share with our Father and Brother at the end of times. Every time we hare now in the breaking of bread, we should long for the final meal. We should pray for our hearts to be set right with God at this time. We should pray that Jesus would grace us with his love throughout our whole soul that we can become more like him.

Q2. (Luke 22:16) In what sense does the Lord's Supper find its "fulfillment" in the Great Banquet at the end of the age? What should this do to our thoughts at the Lord's Table?

 1. It is the culmination and fulfillment of the incarnation, the cross, and the resurrection. Not looking at the old covenant, but at the new covenant Jesus instituted by his death and resurrection.

 2. We should rejoice and be glad and give him glory! We are to remember the promise of future things to come. Remember that we all will be together.
