(John 14:26; 15:26; 16:13a) The Holy Spirit appoints missionaries (Acts 13:2; 20:28),He leads and directs workers in their ministry (Acts 8:29; 10:19-20; 16:6-7; 1 Corinthians 2:13),He speaks through the prophets (Acts 1:16; 1 Peter 1:11-12; 2 Peter 1:21),He corrects (John 16:8),He comforts (Acts 9:31),He helps us in our infirmities (Romans 8:26),He sanctifies (Romans 15:16; 1 Corinthians 6:11),He testifies of Christ (John 15:26),He glorifies Christ (John 16:14),He empowers (Romans 15:13),He searches all things (Romans 11:33-34; 1 Corinthians 2:10-11),He works according to his own will (1 Corinthians 12:11),He dwells with saints (John 14:17),He can be grieved (Ephesians 4:30),He can be resisted (Acts 7:51), and He can be tempted (Acts 5:9). Why is it so easy to refer to the Spirit as "it" rather than "Him"? A lack of study and knowledge. Listening to others instead of following the direction of God's Word.

  5. Q2. (John 5:19; Philippians 2:6-7) What does Jesus' statement, "the Son can do nothing by himself," indicate about his relationship with the Father? It suggests that Jesus did not act alone. He did not act independent of God as He dependent upon the Father during his time as a human on earth. Why did Jesus have to "empty himself" from his heavenly glory when he became a man? For we have not a high priest not able to sympathies with our infirmities, but ... God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin Hebrew 4:15. Thus, this is a voluntary submission to the Father’s leadership (1 Corinthians 15:24-28)

" 1 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. 2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him -- the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD." (Isaiah 11:1-2) How were these fulfilled? These prophecies were fulfilled through Christ Jesus. Isaiah 61:1-2 is read by Christ in Luke 4:18-19, “20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”

When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied Why does Moses long for the Spirit to come upon all God's people? The more of God’s people with the Holy Spirit or gift of the anointing, the more to lead God’s people. It’s also the hope of today that all people will come to know Christ and be filled with his Holy Spirit.
  10. Q1. (1 Samuel 16:13; Psalm 51:11) What is the primary purpose of God putting his Spirit upon selected individuals in the Old Testament? It was placed upon individual for specific service. The Holy spirit also, empowered individuals to accomplish God’s a divine plan. We see this when the Holy Spirit anointed prophets to speak God’s Word, priests to intercede for the people and kings to lead Israel against the enemies of God. What effect does the Spirit seem to have upon their relationship with God? The Old testament reveals that the Holy Spirit was a manifestation of God’s presence. When David confessed his sin, he pleaded with God:” cast me not away from you presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me”
  11. Q4. (Philippians 3:13; Revelation 2:4) What does it look like when a person "loses his first love"? It looks like, they are Putting self and their own affairs first, such as, church programs, services, ministries, fellowship; they seem more attach to the church than to Christ. No feeling of warmth and tenderness for Christ, nor the sensitivity to Christ, or fellow shipping and communing nor praying and sharing with Christ as they did when they first converted. Theirs’s a failure to walk in a consciousness and an awareness of Christ’s presence with joy and rejoicing in Him throughout the day. Has this ever happened to you? How can you regain a personal intimacy with Christ? In my early youth. I was able to regain a personal intimacy with Christ through his word, prayer and singing. What might you need to repent of to restore this? Any pass sins. “ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 (NKJV)
  12. Q3. (Philippians 3:8-9) How can pride in our own righteousness and religious achievements actually get in the way of "knowing Christ"? Pride in our own righteousness and religiousness achievements are at odds with the gospel. pride puffs up, “if anyone thinks he knows anything, he does not yet know it as he ought to know it.’ (1 Corinthians 8:1-2). Being self-center, get in our way of knowing Christ. The scripture tells us our own righteousness are like filthy rags (Isa 64:6) and therefore if we want to know Christ, we must recognize that true righteousness is a matter of our faith, not works. Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.Proverbs 16:18 (NKJV) Isiah 14:12-15 Has this ever happened to you or someone you know?
  13. Q2. (Colossians 1:14-20; Romans 8:1) What does it mean to be "in Christ"? It means to be in union with Christ, therefore, we cannot be condemned, old things have passed away, and now all things are made new. Why is such union with Christ so important? This union with Christ is important in several ways: it’s says, we are redeemed, by the blood of Jesus, transferred into the kingdom by adoption into son-ship. Now, if Christ is righteous and we are in him, therefore we share his righteousness because we are one with Christ.
  14. Q1. (Philippians 2:5-11) How did Jesus demonstrate the importance of humility and forego his rights in order to do God's will? Philippians 5:5-11 “A song writer said, He came all the way from heaven down to save a wretch like me.” He was equal with God in heaven, but on earth he did not try to be equal with God. He humbles himself, by Laing aside His dive form and attributes made Himself of no reputation, became a bond-servant, obedient unto death. What happens when we try to exalt ourselves, rather than waiting for God to exalt us? And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. Matthew 23:12) therefore, no religious lordship and domination by any man has no place in Christianity (Lk. 14:11; 18:14; Prov. 16:18). Example: the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-24. What do you call this tendency? The scriptures says it better than i could say it. "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith" (Romans 12:3). "Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble" (1 Peter 5:5.
  15. Q4. (Philippians 1:20-23) In what way is death "gain" for Paul? ways gain for Paul; He will be released from his home in the body, Paul’s death “gain” he would have finished his course , be with the Lord and gain eternal life. (verse 21). Which is better for him? To live for Christ to produce fruit for his labor Life or death? (verse 23) How does Paul decide which he prefers -- life vs. death -- according to verses 22-24? Paul life vs. death. Paul chose what would be better, not for himself, but for others Philippians 1:22-26
  16. Q3. (2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 14:10) Why should appearing before Christ as Judge make us fearful? We should not be fearful. The saints of God are the only one that will appear before Christ to be judge. Every knee will bow to Christ. Every tongue will confess to God. We not God; therefore, we should not be judging and criticizing each other. God alone is the judge of men. Will we be condemned at that judgment? No. What saves us (Romans 8:1; Revelation 21:12)? The blood of Jesus. Our faith in His finish work on the cross, resurrection and ascension. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit Romans 8:1; Our name have been written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Revelation 13:8. How will our works be judged on that day (1 Corinthians 3:12-15)? Each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. 14 If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire." (1 Corinthians 3:13-15)
  17. Q2. (2 Corinthians 5:8; John 14:2-3) In what ways is heaven like your "home"? My present home is in the body and temporary but, my heavenly home is eternal, everlasting and unending. “ …we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 Corinthian 5:1. Which is eternal? That which is eternal, everlasting or unending. that which has no beginning or ending. Which is temporary? Temporary is a brief passing What kind of faith would it take for you to walk or live with this as your belief, rather than holding on to your earthly possessions, status, and life? The faith to walk by faith and not by sight.
  18. Q1. (2 Timothy 2:3; 3:10-12; 4:7) Why are we quieted so quickly by mild societal disapproval of our witness? I would think those that don’t know the Lord, or weak in the faith lack courage or Fear of acceptance, rejection or just wanting to fit in. I started teaching God’s word when I was a teen. I wasn't strong in the faith as a teen, but I don’t ever recall being quieted. When Christ came into my life, I wanted everyone to experience Him for themselves. What would enduring hardship "like a good soldier of Christ" look like in your life? My husband was pastor for 40 years at one congregation. There were great challenges, and struggle being a young mother of three. But God gave us the strength to endure. I am now in another congregation, doing outreach ministry and missionary work. I went to Monrovia Liberia,Africa during their civil unrest. I had faith that God would protect me. What would it look like to "fight the good fight" for you? It means to work the work of Him that sent you while it’s day, night time come when no man can work. I go when I don’t want to go. I do when I don’t want to, for the cause of Christ.
  19. Q4. (Acts 20:24b; Ephesians 6:20; 2 Corinthians 5:20) In what sense was Paul an ambassador? He’s an ambassador: that belong to the one who sent him out, who was commission, who exist for God’s purpose, who possesses the authority and power of the one who sent him, sent forth and with the message of God. In what sense are you an ambassador? Commissions by the one who saved me, sent, declaring the message of the gospel of Christ Jesus to all. I have been an ambassador abroad, in my community and the congregation I attend. There is no place I go that I’m not an ambassador. Why is sharing your testimony important in your ambassadorship? The important of sharing my ambassadorship is let others know who i represent My testimony is through precept and example
  20. Q3. (Acts 20:24) Our life is valuable to God, of course, and we are to value it. However, what problems result from valuing our life for its own sake? The problems result from valuing our life for our own sake would be missing opportunity to spread the gospel and the works of the ministry, by our action and deeds. What does it mean to "take up his cross daily and follow me" (Luke 9:23-25)? It means to deny oneself through discipline and self-control. We " take up his cross daily and follow me" by loving and caring for others, by sacrificing through giving, helping and ministering to those in need.. What keeps us from doing that? Fear of stigma, persecution, weak in the faith, wanting to fit in with the world What does it mean when Paul says, "I have been crucified with Christ" (Galatians 2:20)? Being crucified with Christ means: that Jesus Christ died for man, He bore the punishment for our sin and now because of our faith, He counts it as we died in Christ, the Christian identifies with His death, and have already been punished for our sin in the death of Christ. The scripture tells us, we are, “crucified with Christ” God now credits the believer as having already died- as having died with Christ. Romans 6:3-5 Paul is saying He no longer lives, but it’s Christ that lives in Him. Paul’s life simple means to be not his own, because he has totally surrender to Christ. Can we follow Christ, if we are actually trying to hang on to our own life? No. we are ambassador, it mean we are representing someone(God) else and not our self.
  21. Q2. (Acts 19:21; 20:22-23; 21:11) Are the prophecies about imprisonment in Jerusalem in conflict with Paul's leading from God? No, by no means.. Paul’s determination to go in spite is a testimony of him willing to suffer for the cause of Christ. Paul had already said the Holy Spirit bore witness to him that bonds and affliction would come upon him in every city. Therefore, he knew there would be persecution waiting for him in Jerusalem. What, then, conflicts with Paul's leading to go to Jerusalem? The conflict would be in Acts 21:11, as the believer felt that Paul should not go to Jerusalem, they were in fear of Paul’s life. Why do you think Paul actively encourages prophecy in the churches he establishes (1 Corinthians 14:1, 5)? He felt that prophecy was one of the spiritual gifts and its needed for edifying the body of Christ Why do you think many Christians despise prophecy today (1 Thessalonians 5:20)?. Most feel it's no longer need and false teaching.
  22. Q1. (Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2) Why did Christians worship on "the first day of the week"? It’s a threefold reason: they were to set aside whatever offering to give, “breaking bread, (the Lord Supper) but the primary reason was to commemorate the resurrection of the Lord. Why is it called "the Lord's Day" (Revelation 1:10)?” It’s a term used by the early Christian, the first day of the week, “the day of the Lord’s resurrection.” What does it mean that they "break bread" (Acts 20:7, 11; 2:42, 46; 1 Corinthians 10:16)? It meant they was observing the Lord’s Supper and having fellowship with other believers Why is that important to believers (Luke 22:19)? It’s important for the believer because: It's the only reason we are able to come before the thorn of God. Christ 's death, burner and resurrection. His body was broken and given for us. He suffered and died , on our behalf, in our stead and in our place. He bore the judgment of God against sin by dying for us. He paid the price we could not pay
  23. Q4. (2 Chronicles 20:15-17a, 21-22; Acts 16:25-26; Philippians 4:4-9; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17) What do praise and thankfulness have to do with faith? Without faith, it’s impossible to believe and give thankfulness and praise. Philippians 4:4-9, tells us, we should rejoice in the Lord always… the Lord is at hand…. but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Why do you think praise and thankfulness are such powerful weapons in our warfare? In our study it’s has been noted that Praise and prayer is another spiritual weapon and our dependence is in Christ Jesus.. When trouble or crisis come into our lives, sometime singing and praying as Paul and Silas in Acts 16:25-26; offers us comfort and a closeness to the only one that can meet our needs. When I am trouble, I sing and pray ; I have found it help me spiritually to endure whatever situation I'm dealing with.
  24. Q3. (2 Corinthians 2:10-11; Ephesians 4:26-27) How do you think anger and unforgiveness give Satan an opportunity to damage you? Anger, unforgiveness and unconfessed sins gives Satan an opportunity to have the advantage over us. Therefore, when we Forgive it’s a spiritual weapon to pull down Satan’s stronghold over us. however, the scriptures tells us to be angry but sin not. For you, who is the most difficult person to forgive? I believe that the most difficult person for me to forgive is My self. Why is your unforgiveness more damaging to you than to the person who hurt you? A Christian should forgive because we have been forgiven of our trespasses and sins. If we don’t forgive, we will not be forgiven. Matthew 6:15. Our unforgiveness is more damaging to us because Satan will take advantage of every failure we make and use it to cause our downfall.
  25. Q2. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4; John 8:44) What are Satan's chief tools to keep people under his control? By blinding the minds of unbeliever so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God. He also uses intimidation, deception and intolerant. Why is the sharing and preaching of the gospel so threatening to him (John 8:31-32; Romans 1:16)? Because of Its power to change the heart of man. The foundation of setting one free is preaching the gospel of truth. Faith come by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. How can they hear except they be sent? We must not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it’s the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believe. Why do you think it is so difficult to share your faith or preach in the world outside the church? I have no problem in sharing my faith.
