  1. 5a)It’s bitter&hard for us to understand, that although God wanted all to be saved, there will be some who don’t accept Jesus as Lord, that will perish instead of choosing life in Him. b)It is sweet to know accepting Jesus that we have the Lambs protection during the end times. God has got us covered through His amazing grace : )?. c)I think we tend to reject what we find difficult and don’t like to hear or read.
  2. 1a)That God is majestic, all powerful, lhis glory is beyond the heavens. His Character to create such a beautiful world in intricate detail &His is mindful &cares for us all. 2)We are so tiny compared to Gods vast creation. Even when were feeling weak, when we speak of God with his power we can overcome any trial /enemies.3)Jesus became human, Son of man made a little lower than the heavenly beings .Christ’s majesty is superior to all else.Everthing is placed under His feet.He will raise all that belong to Him above the Heavenly beings when He comes to reign in new earth &heaven.4)We have a responsibility to be good stewards of all animals &land, birds, flocks, fish &all that swims in waters, caring for God’s creation including us, multiplying the inhabitants..
  3. 5a)The exalted Jesus walking amongst the lampstands, tells us that Jesus is in the midst of His body the bride of Christ, the church,in his power and awesome nature, watching over us. b)It reminds us that the exalted Jesus is concerned about his church, caring for his people and working through his people. He carries with him a 2 edged sword ready to bring judgement on those who do not chose to obey him or believe in him.We should seek to refect his light in our work and winess, bringing others closer to knowing Jesus. c)Jesus is more than we can know or understand, our friend, our saviour by His grace, yet awesome in wonder and majesty through work of his Spirit, unchangable, immortal, indestructable and we should worship him in spirit and truth honouring his name in how we live.
  4. 4a)John’s allusions sought to connect readers of symbolic representation of Christ among lampstands 12-20 and the angelic character who appeared to Daniel in Daniel 10:6.with their knowledge of Jesus as a carpenter-teacher. He wanted to enlarging their thoughts and image of Christ from personal, human nature. b)The emotion of wanting to worship the awesome majesty of Jesus,&serve Him,light of the world ,shining personally but also brightly&powerfully beyond ourselves.. something that we should/cannot not hide but share with others about us. c)Having both a personal relationship with Jesus as friend and saviour who came for me,but also an awareness of his divine, pure,Holy, awesome, exulted, majestic, supranatural nature and power, the way to forgiveness&everlasting life helps keep our faith balanced. I seek to worship my Lord, know more of Him each day and talk about him with others, but also conscious that people will see my faults as well, so pray that they despite my faults will see/know more of Jesus in what I do/don’t do&say.
  5. 3a)Christians are sinners saved by faith alone, however face God’s wrath as a righteous judgement when continue to sin not living as God asks us to.All countries have Christians experiencing opposition for their faith, because we are in a spiritual battle and the devil is at work everywhere undermining Christians witness everywhere. However the tribulations experienced by Christians in the Islamic countries seem to be more severe currently where people are sentenced to death. Asia, Middle East,Latin America etc. We can stand with those suffering we are aware of by our prayers upholding them for God’s strength&mercy. b)Revelation gives us hope God is sovereign, through Jesus we can be strengthened to face opposition, everlasting life is the gift of faithful endurance. Trials refine us,help us develop patience and maturity in Christ.
  6. 2a)It tells us the Father is the Alpha and the Omega the Beginning and the End. From him which is, and which was, and which is to come. The completeness and totality of God.The Father gives to the thirsty the water of life at no cost.Rev 4:11Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created. .b)The description meanings being the same, tells us none other than God can share in the titles of God. Jesus has divine attributes, He is coming back again soon,His reward is with him, and he gives to each as he deserves,he holds the keys of hell and of death. Both the Father and Jesus are eternal and have been alive before the foundation of the world (John 17:24). The only way to the Father is through Jesus.
  7. 1a)The testimony &witness of how God has strengthened others in tough times, making a difference in there lives, brings hope to us when we are fearful, downcast in any way &others facing persecution. It helps build up our faith. b)Jesus is a faithful witness because He is the truth,He is God. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.Jesus endured the worst persecution and overcame this, even death.Through him we have salvation and hope now and forever eternal. He witnesses to us by His Spirit to our spirit, and we come to know His voice. c)Fear is powerful, when we are fearful of what people will think of us,we are constrained by it, and are more reluctant to speak of our faith.
  8. 4a)Hezekiah asks for healing on basis he had sought to live a faithful, godly life obeying God’s demands even when under critiscm from his peers and pressure from his opponents. "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective" (James 5:16b).He also believed that God could answer the prayers of those who fervently sought him in times of crisis, and God’s promise concerning off spring and long life for the faithful. b)God hears all our prayers and he has made promises with us to respond our prayers and petitions in faith made in line with His will Matthew 21:22If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.".As we draw close to God we know His will more closely. God honours those who obey him. "Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the LORD your God gives you for all time." (Deuteronomy 4:40) c)All the blessings we receive from God are given because He loves us and not because we deserve them. We are all sinners saved by grace.God meets us where we are at, searches our heart.Unrighteousness or sinful behaviour, becomes a barrier between us and a loving relationship with God.God may delay his response to our prayers to refine us, cause us to grow closer to Him.Each of us know’s when we have gone off course, not lived as we should have and need to turn back to our loving, merciful Father like the prodigal son.
  9. 3a)Hezekiah’s illness came before he had opportunity to train a son, so if he had died.it would have left his country leaderless. Not helpful at a time when the Assyrian army under Sennacherib threatened to put Jerusalem under seige. His healing gave his nation hope inspiring national unty &time for an heir to his throne to be born,so his house would continue without disputes. b)Hezekiah’s healing and 15yrs more life gave time for his son Manasseh to be born, relates to God’s promises to David of an unbroken line of sons upon David’s throne Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever." (2 Samuel 7:14-16) and God’s promise of offspring &long life to those live uprightly obey his commands.
  10. 2a)In the first 2 sentences Hezekiah is acknowledging and expressing the awesomeness of God, that He is not only God of Israel, referring to the remnant of God’s’ people but also God over all the kingdom’s of this world, He is saying he see’s God in a higher place than any earthly king,,referring to God enthroned between the cherubium. That his reign extends over every kingdom on earth, more powerul than the Assyrian’s and even satan. He see’s there is no limit to God’s power, he made the heavens and earth and can control all within them. b)If we don’t fully grasp the awesome nature of God and his unlimited power, we limit the foundations &extent of our faith. If we acknowledge, believe and concentrate on who God is and His sacrifice for us in Jesus our faith will be strengthened C) God wants us to know Him personally and believe in his unlimited power, love and grace. If we do,then we are more likely to ask him requests in faith, and have a greater expectation that He will answer prayers in line with His will, and God is more likely to answer our prayers.
  11. 1a)Hezechariah had made all the military preparations he could, and recognised Sennacherib’s field commander’s demand to surrender Jerusalem, as an attempt to reduce the people’s trust in God “Who of all the gods of these countries has been able to save his land from me”.,an insult to God and belittling Hezechariah’s trust in God.He knew without God he would be defeated, that God needed to act,as God had been insulted, not just human battle but spiritual and sought God’s help in saving people of Jerusalem. there is a greater power with us than with “our challenger”. With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles." (2 Chronicles 32:7b-8a). We need to seek the Lord when we face challenges, not just try and resolve them ourselves if so we will be overwhelmed with worry. He wants to bring victory for us, when we ask his help. Without him we will not succeed. c)Always aim to seek the Lord’s wisdom and help in everything, then we will stay on his path, make right decisions and be victorious in Christ’s strength.Day of prayer brings amazing results! d)We go off track, get discouraged and led off course.
  12. 6a)They gave hope to the exiles, that loving God would in the future in his mercy would provide a way for their return to Jerusalem, starting 538. They knew what would happen if God didn’t interven. b)the redeemed will walk there, 10 and the ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away." (35:8-10 A new beginning a new land flowing in abundance of peace, joy, justice, happiness ,dignity, milk&honey, paradise like c)it helps people to picture in imagination the future hope in their minds d)it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way;it leads to the New Jerusalem and the throne of God e)those who have been redeemed, who put their trust in the Lord. Prophecy fulfilled in part when exiles returned following their Babylonian captivity. There was great joy and profound recognition that God had released them from their bondage f)the unclean &wicked fools won’t walk on it g)We are God’s possessions,Jesus has paid the price/ransom for our lives &broken Satan’s hold of sin& death on us.From being slaves to the world,we are now free restored to loving relationship with God and our fellow sisters in Christ Jesus.
  13. 5a)Ethical behaviour is about living obediently as God has asked us too,out of our love and respect forf the Lord, It is shows Him in the world, seeking to speak an act in ways that bring honour to God, doing only what is right, loving, peaceful and true, even in the face of anger, being honest in all actions, going the extra mile for others, not falling to bribery, and defending the poor and oppressed in their work, against extortion, bad work conditions and child slavery. This brings God pleasure and shows our love for Him. b)Ethical living shows love and justice for man as it means we are honest, true, right, fair inl our dealings with men, showing loving care, fairness, and respect for our brother in all decisions. c)Corruption taking bribes in goverment,is disobeying word of God, not following Jesus example. It destroys trust, encourages greed, injustice and sin, evidence of men seeking to put self, power before interest of others,
  14. 4a)Our worldly self of pride deceives us into thinking we can put our trust in our own plans strength&resources, when under attack &momentary fears surface, and we forget to seek wisdom &power of the Lord. b)If we trust ourselves for answers to challenges, before asking God’s help ,we are worshipping self.Idolatary is worshupping other gods incl self before the Lord. c)Jesus reminded disciples &us, that we don’t need to worry about trouble, because the Lord knows our every need.As we prayerfully seek God&lay our burdens at his feet &trust him with small things first, our will becomes intune His will,we learn to be more content, and allow Him to use us as He wants
  15. 1)We justify our actions often because we dont realise we are in a spiritual battle over all our actions, and fall foul of the voice of sin, with empty promises &falsehood of our culture, tempting us with false ways to peace, happiness in his disguised way with scheming lies. b)We dont always make decisions we make on basis of Christ firm foundation,, and are in denial about the influence satan has in our thinking and actions. We deceive ourselves dont want to admit we are sinners&need to confess need Christ’s help at all times .c)People stumble over Christ and his righteous standards, truth often comes against what we think, when they dont trust.Jesus truth.&his instructions of how to live. d)showing them love&using an appropriate word of scripture at right time to free them. e)they face God’s judgement &wrath.
  16. 2a)sadly yes b)We can seek to watch ourselve, checking that we read the bible understand it’s context, and that our actions are appropriate and correct in the intent and proportion. e.g.don’t do x to make us feel good,or for others approval.Be accountable to other christians we trust, who can lovingly help put us right if our actions are too much us. c)Being humble, and not arrogant in our views, have a teachable spirit, and being obedient to God’s commands on how to live. d)If the religious practices we follow are not rooted in scripture, they must be actions taught by men not the instructions of daily living&worship found in the bible. e)Rules are important to help us discern right from wrong, Scriptues contains commands on how to live, but Jesus showed us need to avoid a phariseical attude,we are commanded as part of our love for God, to love our neighbour as ourselves. The danger of a rule based faith, is that it’s focus is on carrying out certain actions to obey the rules, before showing compassion with people when responding to their needs, not allowing room for God to act.f)Love &compassion is not upper most in rule based faith
  17. 3a)God is loving and is compassionate, wanting to restore his relationship with us .b)God is patient, loving, faithful, long-suffering,merciful, always just, kind and compassionate. c)our sin, pride, rebellioness, and disobedience breaking our covenant of love with God. d)yes when seeking new church, testing doors that opened, being humble to follow paths even when not intially obvious&needing to step out in faith, resulting clear signs that found place of God’s will at this time. e)In humility knowing need to keep reading the Word daily, keeping close to Lord, being filled with Spirit, listening as pray to hear God’s voice through His Spirit at work in us.Trusting the Lord&obeying him.
  18. 6a)This refers to the angels ingathering of God’s people at the sound of trumpet call.Jesus prophesied this day as well:"And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other." (Matthew 24:31) This study also shows us this passage is part basis for Paul’s conviction finally the Jews will be savedRomans11:26 And so all Israel will be saved; as it is written,“Out of Zion will come the Deliverer; he will banish ungodliness from Jacob.”27“And this is my covenant with them, when I take away their sins.” John 14:3, He said, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am”
  19. 4a)Trusting in the Lord at all times. b)Our minds get weighed down with the anxiety’s we feel as human’s &experience the pull of the worldly view, away from a God focus of thinking. c)The Lord is called the Rock eternal because he is the solid, secure &steadfast anchor for our soul, mighty in strength and trustworthy. He can give us perfect peace even in the midst of anxiety if we lean on Him&let him carry our burdens or concerns commit our minds to trust in Him alone. He brought me through cancer&radiotherapy treatment.Hebrews12:2 let us run the race set before us with endurance, keeping our eyes focused on Jesus the author and perfector of our faith.
  20. 3a)We are comforted by God’s promise of victory over death&His ever loving presence with us by His spirit, in our pain and loss,We know our loved ones are going to a better lace.God helps us bear the grief we feel, wipes away our tears,we are not left alone. b)As believers we can contemplate our death without fear, and in the secure&certain knowledge that we have Spirit of Jesus with us at all times.&He will bring us through death in victory to everlasting life with Him on the otherside. c) When Christ returns instead of death we will experience His resurrection victory, our resurrection bodies we’ll be with Him for abundant life eternal full of joy.The last enemy death destroyed, there wll be no more crying and pain, the old order passed away.
  21. 2a)The theme in Isaiah &NT represents hope for the future A symbolic portrayal of the spiritual blessings of the age to come, the Messianic age, in which those chosen by God share in a rich feast with the MessiahA banquet of aged wine, the best meat and finest wine..NT theme Celebration of God’s victory over every enemy, every power raised against Him, including Satan and his demons, the anti-Christ, sin, and death itself on the cross. We can celebrate together the peace of God and the establishment of His everlasting Kingdom. His salvation hope, grace, mercy &forgiveness shown to all those who hear&respond to Jesus call to turn and follow Him.Jesus brings the food we need.He is the bread of life. b)Judgement &destruction comes,no hope to look forward to for unbelievers, but the redeemed in Christ, people from everywhere in the world will be saved, food will be provided for believers at the feast. At last God and the remnant, the people who love God and His Messiah will fellowship together. God's long range plan for the making right of all things will have been accomplished,God will make his home among man,the new Jerusalem as he wanted before sin,,no more sorrow,no more suffering..God will supply the needs of His people.
  22. 1a)Man’s sin&rebellion against God in not living as He has commanded us,and all evil spiritual powers &principalities. The Gentiles are guilty before God, of course (Romans 1-2), but so is the covenant people to whom Yahweh revealed his law on Mount Sinai. Covenants come with curses to those who break them, as is seen in verse 6. b)Because we look like them."The city -- here the world city, the representative of civilization -- is destroyed in all its urban sophistication and pride. We have polluted the earth, crime is everywhere,we have broken God’s covenant, disobeying His Word,We have left God no choice but to destroy the earth as it is.We will suffer consequences of sin.If we are unsure of our destiny, bound by satan’s lies for our future&we to be saved,we should turn to Jesus, confess of going own path without God &be released, free to live with God for ever. c)There is still time to get right with God."While feasting and celebration of people on earth will cease (24:7-13), there will be celebration of God's righteous judgments (24:14-16a).This prophecy marks out the hope we can have in Jesus. We need not feel threatened if we have committed to turn&follow Christ as our saviour, trusting in him, living as he asks us in our daily life, the cleansing blood of Jesus has washed our sins away&Jesus will intercede for us at judgement day.,Jesus won the victory over sin for us defeating death on cross&rising again in ressurection power .d)If we love the things of this world, pride &importance from wealth, buying what we desire,we are deluded by man’s glory&glitter-they are not from God,but from evil world itself &this world is fading away&these forbidden things will perish.
  23. 3a)Judah put it’s trust in its own security, making physical defences&actions to prepare against the Assyrian armies e.g building tunnel from Gihon spring outside city walls to pool inside in case city was beseiged, instead of seeking God&putting trust in the One who made it&His grace. b)They should have humbly sought God’s protection, confessing their wrongs, and had faith God,trusting in His mercy.c)He mis-used the nations resources to prepare a fine tomb for h imself on the outskirts of the city, further his purposes&pride while Jerusalem was vulnerble to attack&he should have been serving. He was corrupt &untrustworthy d)Yes everytime I make my own plans to e.g to purchase something, distracted from looking to God ,& focusing on doing as he asks-giving to the poor &others in need etc.
  24. 2a)God commanded Isaiah to be naked for 3yrs,as a shocking memorable sign &warning to Hezekiah, not to form an alliance with Egypt&Cush. When prisoners taken away in captivity, often conquering nation stripped them as a sign they had been totally conquered b)God asked prophets to act out what He wanted to tell the peopleProphecy meant Judah should trust in God and not in Egypt or Judah’s own strength, when in fear of the Assyrian attackers. Egypt would not keep its promises to give Judah military help, and the Assyrian armies of King Sennacherib(705-681BC) would be victorious over Egyptian forces, causing naked prisoners of war from Egypt/Ethiopia to flee north to be resettled in other lands. c)Judah’s King Hezekiah did not join in Sargon’s rebellion against Assyria&so in 711 Judah had not suffered reprisals.Prophecy should have warned Judah not to trust in foreign alliances to protect them,However later in 701 Judah had joined in the rebellion against Assyria and suffered an invasion by Assyria, who conquered all her fortified cities except Jerusalem. d)It would have seemed unusual request, but I hope so.
  25. 1a)The ruler described could be Nebuchadnezzar defeating many nations armies, growing in pride with his victories. The attitude of the rulers heart is lofty, arrogant, boastful,&egocentric.Full of arrogance& pride, making him feel godly like, with people exalting him above other kings, worshipping him over God. b)Not much scriptual evidence referring to Satan.Since “Lucifer” is Latin for “morning star”, it was assumed Isaiah was also referring to Satan Jesus refers to satan "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven" (Luke10:18),Satan is talked about indiectly in 2 Thessalonians 2:4 and Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.Beginning with a beast (the Antichrist) raising up out of the sea which represents the nations of the world. The beast is the Antichrist or the false messiah. He will be the final world ruler. c)I know there are times, when I thought I knew which path to take, but didn’t seek the Lord first.later humbly realise that God was directing me elsehwere. d)the king of Babylon was not humble at all,but allowed his pride and arrogance to rule, seeking to be enthroned above stars of God. e)come to the Lord each day, committing to seek his wisdom before make decisions&acting with humility, and trusting in the Lord at all times.
