1a)Believing that Jesus is the Holy One, God in flesh is pivotal for us,it is only through His divinity,is He able to make the perfect,atoning sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins,.It is only believing in Jesus,that He was sent by the Father as a baby incarnate Christ,to died for us on cross,our redeemer& recognising that God raised him from dead,that we are saved,receive His Spirit in us&have eternal life for ever.confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead [so that] you will be saved" (Romans 10:9) b)Satan wants to confuse us,by allowing the spirit of the antichrist to rule above God in our hearts and minds&lead us away from the true incarnate God&,His promises for us of salvation,cleansing, forgiveness and grace when we seek to follow each day. c)Knowing he submitted to the Holy Spirit,&trusting in this power,He was able to overcome temptation,suffering, bereavements, persecution,hunger,abuse,sorrow,challeges in leadership, and death,we can have hope&trust in same Holy Spirit whose seed dwells within a believer to help us overcome our own trials and testing times.We can pray to divine Christ knowing he has experienced our pain as well as the joy and happiness in life too.He is not therefore disconnected from our human experiences,but understands more than anyone else in the world.He knows us better than we know ourselves. d)The significance means that God gave the ultimate sacrifice, allowing his only true Son to die in our place on cross and showed through His resurrection from the tomb his divine victory over satan’s power. e)The resurrection is fundamental to my belief,without it faith is meaningless, and sets Jesus apart from false teachers,&antichrist” spiritual healers” giving people false hopes.Jesus is the only true way.Resurrection assures me Jesus has been victorious over sin and death,our relationship with our Father is restored,&he is coming back again,when I can look forward to a new resurrection illness free body transformed by His power when I see God face to faceRev22:4.

4a)John is saying we receive answers to prayers because of our obedience to God’s commends about how to live.Obedience means we don’t make certain requests,and it soften’s our hearts to receive God’s answers for our prayers.Disobedience creates a barrier between us and God and we want an open sinless relationship with God. b)When we are saved &our relationship with the Father has been restored by grace out of his love for us,not by our own merits. However, how we live our lives as a Christian requires that we participate with God’s grace.i.e not expect anwers to our prayers,or take it for granted that we are saved &say it doesn’t matter how we live.Proverbs 12:2 says, "A good man obtains favor from the LORD, but the LORD condemns a crafty man.", We don’t earn God’s favour,because we should never place Him under any obligation.Obedience to God and His word brings pleasure and satisfaction to the Lord,and if we love Him,we want to please Him and obey Him.

3a)To give of our selves for others,showing sacrificial love &compassion for our neighbour,friends etc in how we live our lives, with acts of genuine kindness when they are hurting or in other times of need,putting their needs before own,going out of our way to help them without expecting any benefit in return.Acts 2:42-47 b)Examples could be providing practical help at no cost,being a listener to allow another to off load&praying with them;sending encouragement cards with bible verses in times of need,giving emotional,financial support&spiritual encouragement. c)Variety of ways to get to know people in larger fellowships -small groups where deeper relationships formed,mutual sharing &supporting.Welcome teas &newcomer dinners great for new people to meet others &developing trust where in time needs shared& people helped by church family.

2a)Anger can be positive causing us to act against injustice. However when we hold onto anger against another,our hearts harden and it develops into an internal bitterness in us producing an unforgiving spirit, and hatred in our hearts .b)John tells us if we hate our brother we are guilty of murderer.The same spirit underlies hatred and murder,and changes our heart.We will be judged for our sins whether we are angry or hate our brother,or murder.In God’s eyes we will be guilty of sin in each case and will not have eternal life in us if these sins are present. c)The only way we can be free of stored-up anger in us,is to repent of this, praying for the Lord to heal us of any hurt,if we give up our need to hate,our love for brother will grow,and Holy Spirit in us will help us to forgive our brother.This allows our Father to forgive us.We must seek to repent fully,not holding onto resentment in any way,as this prevents us from receiving full forgiveness and loving him in way Jesus asks us too.

1a)Cain resents Abel because God favoured Abel’s first fruits offering of an animal sacrifice and rejected Cain’s cereal offering. b)Cain killed Abel when he allowed his jealous sinful thoughts of Cain to develop into sinful action of murder. Sin creates more sin if it is nor repented of and washed away. c)Abel obeying God making Cain jealous,shows how Christians seeking to live as God has asked of us, can make clear to the world their choice to live in sinful ways,making them feel uncomfortable aware of sinful choices they’ve made and they are jealous of the peace, freedom in Christ,security,pleasure from true joy that Christians feel when living out of love of God,and in his path of light.

They taught being saved only importance, not our responsibility to follow out of thanks&praise for His grace,purity and authority,his commands on how to live,putting self before other people and God repenting our current sins when we fail,to receive his ongoing forgiveness &asking Spirits help to not go there again.

3a)Lawlessness is shown through us not caring about others feelings,indifference to authority, eogo,impatience,laziness, arrogance,uneasy way, living to please self regardless of the consequences, stubborness, self-sufficiency,wilful,allowing self to be deceived by earthly desires&worldly temptations instead of living to please God according to His Royal law of love, I like Bill Bright’s description of sin."This self-will, characterized by an attitude of active rebellion or passive indifference, is an evidence of what the Bible calls sin."19 b)Attitude of lawlessness an inner rebellion of God&His law of love is a base cause of sin, when we put ourself,our thoughts&actions,before God,and loving others in all we do and say.When my will crosses God’s but I dont submit to God as Jesus did.Life without God’s law,brings sin and destruction of self&other,not a way to prepare for Jesus return..

2a)We have a christian hope and expectation that Jesus will come again and we want to be ready.For we know that when he appears (phaneroō), (those who believe)we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is."1John 3:2b.He will come without warning,when we least expect him,and he will hold us all to account to judge our thoughts and actions.The blessed hope -- the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ." (Titus 2:13).Jesus blood has covered sin,the blood from his one death that is for us all.His bodily resurrection released the grip of sin and death,.My motivation to live in ways pleasing to God,is in gratitude for what Jesus has achieved for us,He has set us free.and knowing He is pure, living in right ways with Christ's help, will result in us avoiding undue suffering caused by sinful actions. b)We cannot purify ourselves from sin,from the fall it is now in us,in our thoughts and actions,but we can try our best to cleanup how we live,keep a short account,seeking God’s help to do this,our part in the sanctification process. It is only by God’s grace that I’m here, through the blood of Jesus that we are fully cleansed and purified from sin and able to approach the Father in prayer. Thankfully the loving cleansing power of Jesus is ongoing as daily we ask for His help to repent and turn away from of our sinful thoughts and actions.

1a)We are God’s spiritual children,Spiritual birth happens the moment when we first believed and receive Jesus as our Lord and saviour, God sent his Spirit of sonship into our hearts,the Spirit himself agrees /testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.The Holy Spirit adopts us. b)We are born again through His Spirit at work in us-'I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, You must be born again.'" (John 3:3-7) c)New birth means that we are a new creation through the blood of Jesus,we become righteous,no he difference between right&wrong,seek to live more in ways pleasing to God,right living as he has commanded us to,loving others,forgiving others when they offend us.2 Cor 5:17-So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away, what is new has come. John 2:29 If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him. John 4:24- God is spirit, and the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.In the future too when Jesus comes again,when he appears phaneroō) we shall be like him homoios,our resurrection bodies will be like his resurrection body,free of any sign of disease or sin,cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

5a)God has given the church annointed,gifted teachers to build up the church "to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12) as we receive their godly ministry.However we are not to depend on this and ignore the Holy Spirit in us teaching us. God’s annointing comes on all believers,with the indwelling of HS teaching us about all things nurturing our faith&study of the Word of life,and giving us the discernment to tell whether teachers are speaking truth or not.Some not all are blessed with HS special gift of teaching, to help guide us in not only in strengthening our faith, but sharing our faith with others to build up the kingdom of God, drawing others to know Jesus

4a)It means seeking to stay close to the Lord engaging with His word, allowing his words to lead us in our thoughts and actions,seeking to love others,lifting others in prayer,and resisting being pulled into worldy thoughts &actions. b)abiding in Jesus could be putting aside our feelings even when hurt and showing acts of loving kindness, praying for a situation,or for someones healing. c)We backslide if don’t pray,read bible or worship in church. Compromising their walk when not abiding, actions probably prideful,critical of Church&other christians,showing indifference,hardness,carelessness,rashness, instead of living honourably,with encouraging, loving actions to build up other christians&the wider church.We will know them by their fruit.

1a)Scripture speaks of an antichrist figure in different forms that will be revealed in the end times,as an opponent of God and Jesus his Messaih e.g "the ruler who will come" (Daniel 9:26a) and who will set up in the temple "an abomination that causes desolation" (Daniel 9:27). "the man of lawlessness" who’ll set himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4). Paul insists this figure not yet appeared in the world (2 Thessalonians 2:7). antichrist figure as the "beast coming out of the sea" (Revelation 13:1), who acts as a puppet of Satan (13: 4), makes war against Christian‘s (13:7), and causes the unbelievers to worship him (13:8).Jesus says(Matthew 24:15)when you see figure standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,you are to flee. b)They are both adverseries of Christ leading people to worship Satan.Difference is the antichrists in the church have been influenced by "the spirit of the antichrist" (4:3).Paul taught "the secret power of lawlessness is already at work" (2 Thessalonians 2:7), even though the man of lawlessness had not been revealed. The effect of his spirit affected the church.It was 2 fold,they taught false doctrine that denied Jesus was God in the flesh and promoted lawless lives of Christians. c)We see evidence of antichrist at work tempting and causing believers to carryout immoral behaviours unbecoming of Christians. The father of lies is busy deceiving &leading people astray,need to allow Holy Spirit to lead us in right path.

2a)Anointing is God’s empowering of an individual,symbolize by pouring of oil on a person Jesse brings his youngest son David before the Prophet Samuel: "Then the LORD said, 'Rise and anoint him; he is the one.'So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came upon David in power." (1 Samuel 16:12-13) b)The anointing is closely connected to presence&work of the Spirit coming to dwell within us when we first believed.At Jesus baptism he was anointed by "the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form" (Luke 3:22). Later, "Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert...." (Luke 4:1) Peter's understanding of Jesus'power &his anointing. At the house of Cornelius, Peter "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, he healed those under the power of the devil, because God was with him." (Acts 10:38) Jesus, Messiah,Anointed One,was anointed by the Holy Spirit. c)Each Christian receives this anointing,Jesus made it possible through seal of grace with his blood for us to communicate through Spirit in us with the Father.Jesus is the One who pours out the Holy Spirit (on all who believe)his people (John 15:26; 16:7),We can hinder it’s work or allow Him to work in us-where the fruit of His Spirit is exhibited in us....His love for others comes to live in us,,,, things that use to be ok are seen as sin.,We are changed and are new creations and the Holy Spirit guides us in all things.

4a)The kind of sins John states here are i/Desires/longing of body/flesh for things that are forbidden ii/**** of the eyes-sexually&seeing/ wanting everything for ourselves iii/boasting/arrogance in own wealth or outward circumstances. b)The enemy is sly &cunning.It is so easy for us to be sidetracked by media,work targets, on things temporal,getting our priorities wrong, instead of using time& resources on doing God’s will,being his disciple in thought and action. Need to allow Holy Spirit to lead us,sharing God’s love with others, accumulating treasure in heaven. c)We cannot serve2 masters,&are in a spiritual battle,-Worldliness deceives us that it appears it is our future, but it is not everlasting.Whatever minimise our walk with God,keeps us away from storing up treasure in heaven, and leads into the paths of darkness,selfish living,&acts that could harm ourselves &others.He who does the will of God,abides in him forever.

3a)The worldly realm that is in rebellion against the heavenly realm.Jesus refers to Satan as "the prince of this world" (John 12:31a; 14:30; 16:11) "worldly" and "worldliness" John is describing this devil-may-care rejection of godly values and of devotion to the Lord that abounds in our secular society today.While pleasure itself isn't wrong, when our minds are consumed by the pleasure we can derive from a person or things, we are no longer loving, but become selfish hedonists

2a)John knows they will have moments of doubt,face false teachers, so spends time encouraging- their relationship with Father is strong&John wants to reassure three levels of spiritual maturity,assuring them of their status in Christ, saying the truth their sins have been forgiven.John reaffirms this to equip them to fend off worldly thoughts. b)John encourages by reminding them i/there sins have been forgiven because of Jesus sacrifice Your sins have been forgiven on account of his name" (2:12),not because of their human actions.ii/their faith is the One who all knowing from the beginning and everlasting, and is solid in Him"You have known him who is from the beginning" (Fathers, 2:13a and 2:14a).iii/in Jesus we have overcome the evil one and all his schemes."You have overcome the evil one" (Young men, 2:13b and 2:14d. iv/we have the Father’s love that is wonderful, precious, health-producing.His smile puts joy in our hearts,which makes us strong and helps teach us to share this love with others"You have known the Father" (Little children, 2:13c).v/we have the strength of Christ and do not have to fear.When we abide in him he abides in us and He equips&empowers us to face all things."You are strong" (Young men, 2:14b).vi/the word logos of God lives in us "The word of God lives in you" (Young men, 2:14c).,Christ the Word of life and the Spirit who reminds us of Jesus'words and interprets them to us, who allows us to have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16).

1a)Hate&unforgiveness means we walk in darkness in our thoughts&actions,this blinds us spiritually, we are cut off from Father’s forgiveness for own sins. b)Can’t do it in our own power.We can come into the light by praying confessing my sin &asking help of HS to let go of our hurt,hate&bitterness of others.

5a)We can be serious about following Christ,without becoming legalistic by seeking to ensure that all we do&say flows from motives of loving God&loving our neighbour. b)Loving God &seeking to follow his commands to please Him,is different from legalism following minutea of manmade rules without regard for God&loving others. c)Can only be serious about putting love at the centre of our obedience,by sumitting to God,reading His Word,spending time in prayer study&allowing Christ to lead our every thought &action.
