1. Q4. What about Moses' strengths have inspired you? What about his weaknesses have been a warning to you? If there is one primary thing God has taught you from Moses' life that you seek to apply to yours, what is it? Answer: 1.What about Moses' strengths have inspired you? I think it is His Boldness, in interceding. Nobody can interceed the way Moses prayed to God now adays..Because we have a better intercessor in Jesus Christ. However during those times, when Moses is interceding with the Hebrew people,I am still blown by how he address God: Exodus 32:11-12-11 And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand? 12 Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people. And look, how God respond to him
2. Q3. (Numbers 25; Revelation 2:14) Though Balaam wouldn't prophesy evil against Israel, he was willing to counsel the Moabites how to hurt Israel. How did Balaam's counsel lead Israel into sin? Why was Aaron's grandson Phinheas so honored for his action? What was his reward? Why are we so often zealous to defend the rights of God's enemies and so slow to defend God's honor? Answer: 1.Though Balaam wouldn't prophesy evil against Israel, he was willing to counsel the Moabites how to hurt Israel. How did Balaam's counsel lead Israel into sin? Numbers 24:14- And now, I am about to go back to my own people. Come now, and I will advise you as to what this people will do to your people in the future.
3. Q2. (Numbers 21:4-9; John 3:14-15) What precipitated the plague of snakes? Is being impatient with God's provision a sin? Why or why not? What are the points of comparison between the bronze snake in the desert and Christ on the cross? Answer: 1.What precipitated the plague of snakes? People
4. Q1. (Numbers 20:1-13) What did God tell Moses to do to bring water out of the rock? What did Moses actually do? In what way did he sin? What emotions and attitudes were behind his sin, do you think? What must leaders do when they sin in these ways? Answer: 1.What did God tell Moses to do to bring water out of the rock? SPEAK TO THE ROCK
5. Q4. (Numbers 17) What was the root cause of Korah's rebellion? Which of their accusations were true or partially true? Why is challenging the authority of a spiritual leader so dangerous to the challengers? How is intercession for a sinful people such an important part of a leader's job? Answer: 1 What was the root cause of Korah's rebellion? PRIDE. They might have waited for this moment, when to their estimation they have the right number of people to overthrow Moses. They might have been thinking that, with their sheer number, the favor of the Lord will be on their side.. In Chapter 15,we haven
6. Q3. (Numbers 14) Why is this failure to enter the Promised Land so serious? What did it represent on the people's part? What did it represent on the Lord's part? In your opinion, was the punishment too severe? Why or why not? If the people had moved in faith, how long would their trip from Egypt to Canaan have taken? Answer: 1.Why is this failure to enter the Promised Land so serious? What did it represent on the Lord's part? Because it contradicts to the will, purpose of God..God said,He will give them the Promised Land..andwhen the Lord says it..and SO IT WAS SO...it must come to pass,it must happen..( Gen 1:9- And God said , Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place , and let the dry land appear : and it was so So their failure not to enter the Promised land,is so serious because it makes the WORD of GOD of no effect. 2.In your opinion, was the punishment too severe? Why or why not? Nothing is too severe for the Lord. The Lord never impose His will on the people,He wants relationship,obedience..and when the people cannot obey Him,it mwans it also cannot fellowship with Him. 3.If the people had moved in faith, how long would their trip from Egypt to Canaan have taken? Less than 40 years...
7. Q2. (Numbers 12) What was Miriam's and Aaron's motivation for speaking against Moses? Why do people seeking power feel a need to discredit the existing leader? How did Moses handle this provocation? How might he have handled it if he were a proud man? How did the Lord handle it? Answer: 1 What was Miriam's and Aaron's motivation for speaking against Moses? We really don't know the motivation beyond Miriam and Aaron action. It never mentioned anything,in Chapter 11,the cause of their action,..then all of the sudden in the first verse of Numbers 12,verse 1...And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman When Moses gathered 70 leaders,in Chapter 11,it never mentioned that Aaron and Miriam are among the chosen one. This despite the fact that God also had spoken to them..It must have hit their pride, when Moses did not include them as one of the chosen 70 leaders. 2.Why do people seeking power feel a need to discredit the existing leader? To prove that they are much better, and to destroy the leader credibility. 3. How did Moses handle this provocation? How might he have handled it if he were a proud man?How did the Lord handle it? We did not see Moses reaction, only it says that He is... Numbers 12:3 (Now the man Moses was very meek , above all the men which were upon the face of the earth .) Before Moses can react,God immediately intervened, and settle the issue once and for all,to whom he is in favor: Numbers 12:7-8--My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house . ; 8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth , even apparently , and not in dark speeches ; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold : wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses ? So before Moses can show his reaction, the Lord come to His rescue, and show unto Aaron and Miriam who is His annointed one.
8. Q1. (Numbers 11:11-15) Why do you think Moses is so frustrated in his prayer? What do you think is going on in him emotionally and physically at this point? Does he have any grounds for his complaints? Do you think this is designed to be a model prayer? Why are we shown this prayer? How did God answer him? Answer: 1.Why do you think Moses is so frustrated in his prayer? What do you think is going on in him emotionally and physically at this point? It seems the people never learned
9. Q4. (Leviticus 1:3-9) In the burnt offering for an individual's sin: What is the significance of the offerer laying his hand on the animal's head? Why do you think the offerer is to slay the sacrifice rather than having the priest do it? How is the animal's blood significant in sacrifice? In what ways does Jesus' sacrifice on the cross fulfill all of this? Answer: 1. In the burnt offering for an individual's sin: What is the significance of the offerer laying his hand on the animal's head? The offerer,is signifying to lay His sin, push His sin to the animal head. 2. Why do you think the offerer is to slay the sacrifice rather than having the priest do it? The offerer has to slay the sacrifice himself, because it is His sin that is being atoned. 3.How is the animal's blood significant in sacrifice? In what ways does Jesus' sacrifice on the cross fulfill all of this? Without shedding of Blood there is no forgiveness of Sin..It is pointing to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus, when He shed His Blood, and died for us,to atoned for our sins and rebellion.
10. Q3. What does the arrangement of the furniture, the tabernacle, and the courtyard teach us about worship? Why do you come to the bronze altar and the laver or basin before you reach the tent itself? Answer: 1 What does the arrangement of the furniture, the tabernacle, and the courtyard teach us about worship? It tells us that,to approach God,one must pass through pre conditioned acts,or ceremony to be accepted.Worshipping God in the old Testament is hard,it is not that people don
11. Q2. (Exodus 25:10-22) What is the significance of the Ark in the Holy of Holies? What did it represent? Why was it considered so holy? If no one really sat upon it, why was it so important? Answer: 1.What is the significance of the Ark in the Holy of Holies? It signify God,separated from people..Holy God,cannot be joined to sinful people..Nobody can go in the presence of God,except the High Priest..and only once a year. 2.What did it represent? It represent the presence of God. 3.Why was it considered so holy? Because it represent GOD. 4. If no one really sat upon it, why was it so important? Because it is where the people relates the presence of God..It teaches them to be obedient and at awe with reverence to God.
12. Q1. (Numbers 2:1-3:39) Why was the camp of the Israelites laid out as it was? What did this layout teach the Israelites? Why were the Levites and priests camped closer than the other tribes?? Numbers 2:1-3- 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron , saying , 2 Every man of the children of Israel shall pitch by his own standard , with the ensign of their father's house : far off about the tabernacle of the congregation shall they pitch . 3 And on the east side toward the rising of the sun shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah pitch throughout their armies : and Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be captain of the children of Judah. Answer: 1.Why was the camp of the Israelites laid out as it was? It was laid out as it was, according to God's instruction...The Soldier on the outside, ready to defend the Tabernacle at all time. The Tabernacle was at their midst,to signify as their most Prized Possession. The Tabernacle was placed in the center, for everyone to see,and worship. These people are so used in worshiping something Tangible, something that can be seen(They are slaves and in bondage to the Egyptians for more than 300 years..who are noted(Egyptians)for their pagan worship....) 2.What did this layout teach the Israelites? That GOD should be in the center,of everyone's life,as represented by the Tabernacle...That we should care, and Love God with all of our Heart, mind and soul. 3.Why were the Levites and priests camped closer than the other tribes? Levites and Priest are considered Mediator, between God and Men during those time. They are the one performing sacrifices, and other Priestly duties.. The significance,or importance of their duties are shown in the layout, that before man can reach God, they need to pass through with the Levites and Priest first.
13. Q4. (Exodus 33:7-11) Why is Moses' pre-tabernacle "tent of meeting" so important in Moses' ministry? Why is it called the "tent of meeting"? What would it take for you to spend longer periods of intimate time seeking God? How do you think this would affect your ministry? Answer: 1. Why is Moses' pre-tabernacle "tent of meeting" so important in Moses' ministry? It is important, for this is the place,it symblolizes the Presence of the Lord.It is important,to be still, and just listen to the Lord,to have fellowship with Him..What is important also is God's confirmation that indeed His presence is visible to the people. It is important that the People, also knows that God is indeed speaking with Moses,so that they themselves can follow.People in those days(even today)are so physical...in Natural realm...They want to see to believe..they want tangile things so that they can relate... Without the Presence, confirmation from God that indeed He was present...their is no so called... ministry... 2Why is it called the "tent of meeting"? It is where God meets Moses, where He speak to Moses intimately..face to face... 3. What would it take for you to spend longer periods of intimate time seeking God? How do you think this would affect your ministry? When you are born again,...GOD SAYS HE WILL NEVER LEAVE NOR FORSAKE YOU... SO THERE IS NO TIME,WHERE THE PRESENCE OF GOD IS ABSENT IN YOU.... GOD IS ALWAYS IN ME,I AM BORN AGAIN,AND I CONFESS GOD IS WITH ME,..BECAUSE OF WHAT JESUS HAS DONE IN THE CROSS,..HIS PRESENCE IS SEALED BY JESUS BLOOD..AND THAT IS HIS NEW COVENANT... WE MAY FORGET,OR DISTANCE OUR SELF TO HIM...BUT WHEN YOU ARE COVERED BY JESUS BLOOD,YOU ARE NEVER WITHOUT GOD.... Rev 1:5-6- And from Jesus Christ , who is the faithful witness , and the first begotten of the dead , and the prince of the kings of the earth . Unto him that loved us , and washed us from our sins n his own blood , 6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father ; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever . Amen
14. Q3. (Exodus 32:11-13, 30-35; 33:12-17) Why is interceding for the people so important in Moses' ministry? Why is this such an important role for pastors and lay leaders today? To intercede effectively before God, why must we know both his character and his promises?? Answer: 1.Why is interceding for the people so important in Moses' ministry? God appointed Moses to be a leader,of Hebrew People..God could have seen something in Him,that nobody can see..There must be a reason...The book of Hebrew tell us why:MOSES FAITH Hebrews 11:24-25-24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years , refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God , than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. Moses love the Hebrew people(Exodus 2:12-And he looked this way and that way , and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian , and hid him in the sand /..Exodus 2:17- And the shepherds came and drove them away but Moses stood upand helped them, and watered their flock)...He will defend them,and help them in any He can,including interceding in their behalf. By His intercession,Moses demonstrated to the people,that indeed God's favor is in them,and that God is merciful..They know the gravity of their sin...They have agreed to follow God's Word,and that in chapter 20..God has told them to HAVEN NO OTHER GODS BEFORE HIM.. Exodus 19:8- And all the people answered together , and said , All that the LORD hath spoken we will do . And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD . Exodus 20:1-3- 1 And God spake all these words, saying , 2 I am the LORD thy God , which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt , out of the house of bondage . ; 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me . 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above , or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth So by intercession,Moses established His position as The leader,to which God can communicate,to which God listen,and through Him,through His intercession,God will be merciful,and forgives...A type and shadow of things to come in JESUS CHRIST. 2,Why is this such an important role for pastors and lay leaders today? It is important role for pastors and lay leaders today,so that the congregation can feel God's presence in their behalf.In the NEW TESTAMENT,we are all Priest and King(Rev 1:6- And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father ; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.)..however the role of pastor and lay leader is still important.God can speak to the Pastor regarding His Plan to the Church,and for each individual member,so that it is important for the congregation to accept,and trust the leadership of the Pastor,that indeed it is from God...TRUST is the key word..The people should Trust the Pastor or the Leader for the CHURCH to be strong and united,IN CHRIST. 3. To intercede effectively before God, why must we know both his character and his promises? We have nothing except God's WORD..HIS PROMISES..Without His Word,we hold nothing..Interceding in fact is GOD'S WILL: Isaiah 59:16- And he saw that there was no man , and wondered that there was no intercessor therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained. Ezekiel 22:30- And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge and stand in the gap before me for the land , that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Isaiah 64:7- And there is none that calleth upon thy name , that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face H6440 from us, and hast consumed us, becausef our iniquities. In the New Testament,Apostle James encouraged us to Pray to one another..Jame 5:16- Confess your faults one to another , and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. God has spoken the WORD...and He says LET THERE BE LIGHT...and indeed there was Light,even though the Source of Light has never been in existence..WHY?Because God speak it...When He says something that He will do..HE will do it..Because God is Faithful,and He cannot deny Himself(2 Tim 2:13- Ifwe believe not yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.). Numbers 23:19-Godis not a man , that he should lie; neither the son of man , that he should repent : hath he said , and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken , and shall he not make it good. So it is important to have God's Word and Promises,for God will always honor the Word that He had spoken,the promises that He has bowed to do,He will do it....All of these when making request,intercession,mediation..should be done....IN THE NAME OF JESUS..FOR HE IS OUR ONLY MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD AND MAN. John 16:23- And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily , verily, I say unto you , Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name he will give it you . John 14:13-14- 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name , that will I do , that the Father may be glorified in the Son 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name , I will do it. 1 Tim 2:5-For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men , the man Christ Jesus ;
15. Q2. (Exodus 32:21-24) What was the nature of Aaron's sin with the golden calf? Why won't he take responsibility for his actions, do you think? Why do you think he gets off so easily? Why must leaders be accountable for their actions? What is necessary for leaders to be able to learn from their mistakes? Answer: 1.What was the nature of Aaron's sin with the golden calf? It was Aaron Himself who Molded, and design the Golden Calf..(..The Gold used is actually a blessings from God, whom God take from Egyptian people...(Exodus 11:2-Speak now in the ears of the people , and let every man borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour jewels of silver , and jewels of gold Exodus 12;35-36- 35 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses ; and they borrowed of the Egyptians ewelsof silver , and jewels of gold , and raiment : 36 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians , so that they lent H7592 unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians . Aaron has just wasted the blessing from the Lord, but that he made it into Graven Image for which the Hebrew people can relate and worship...While God is trying to make His people, worship Him,and receive Him as God the Spirit...Aaron,just made them(Israelite people),worship another God... Exodus 32:4-And he received them at their hand , and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf : and they said , These be thy gods H, O Israel which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 2.Why won't he take responsibility for his actions, do you think? Aaron will not take responsibility, because He is afraid that the Lord will punish him.He is a witness how God deals with Pharoah and the Egyptian people at the Red Sea,and I think He is fearful that the Lord will do it unto Him..He realize how bad he has done...instead He blames the people... Exodus 32:22- And Aaron said , Let not the anger of my lord wax hot : thou knowest the people , that they are set on mischief. 3.Why do you think he gets off so easily? It is God's decision...Sometimes things that is not revealed to us,we just need to Trust that God Knows what He is doing..There is only one God...and that is not us:.. Deuteronomy 29:29-The secret things belong unto the LORD our God : but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever , that we may do all the words of this law. 4.Why must leaders be accountable for their actions? What is necessary for leaders to be able to learn from their mistakes? The Leader in order to gain respect, must stand by His word, and be accountable for His actions.Learning from mistakes, admitting you are wrong,is a virtue of Humility, that each leader must have...Pride must be put aside...
16. Q1. (Exodus 32:1-6) Why do you think the people of Israel were so quick to make idols, even after hearing the monotheism of the Ten Commandments that forbade graven images? Why do you think Aaron facilitated their sin? How do you think the golden calf made God feel? What idols do Christian churches allow that lead them away from pure worship of God in our day? Answer: 1.Why do you think the people of Israel were so quick to make idols, even after hearing the monotheism of the Ten Commandments that forbade graven images? As spoken, prophesied by God,in a dream to Abraham..the Israelites people will be in bondage for more than 400 years in Egypt.: Gen 15:13-14- And he saidunto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years ; 14 And also that nation , whom they shall serve , will I judge : and afterward shall they come out with great substance To be exact,it is 430 years(Exodus 12:40- Now the sojourning of the children of Israel , who dwelt in Egypt , was four hundred and thirty years) During this bondage, hard labor,The Hebrew people are so accustomed to see idols, of their master being prayed... The impact of the graven images, being worshipped in their midst, might be so great that, they also might have followed,or force to follow to avoid punishments. For 430 years they have done it,it become their daily lives, they began to get accustomed with it..and maybe are comfortable with it... They want to see some representations, something tangible that they can relate to,just like their Egyptian boss. They want to imagine something, some figures, something that they can worship. But God is a Spirit(John 4:24)...and He only wants His people to know that HE IS THE GREAT I AM. Exodus 3:13-14-..... What is his name ? what shall I say unto them? 14 And God said unto Moses , I AM THAT I AM:
17. Q4. (Exodus 24:8; Matthew 26:27-28) What is the function of the "blood of the covenant" in Exodus? What is the "blood of the covenant" in the New Testament? How is the Old Covenant similar to the New Covenant? How are they different? Answer: 1What is the function of the "blood of the covenant" in Exodus? It seals the Covenant, and make it binding: Hebrews 9:19-20- For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law , he took the blood of calves and of goats , with water, and scarlet wool , and hyssop , and sprinkled both the book, and all the people ,7 20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you. 2What is the "blood of the covenant" in the New Testament? It the BLOOD OF JESUS,SHED IN THE CROSS.The Blood which covers us who believe and earn us entrance into the Holiest of Holy. Hebrews 10:19- Having therefore , brethren boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 3 How is the Old Covenant similar to the New Covenant? How are they different? The Old Covenant is,just type and shadow of things to come.A physical covenant based on physical promises, with physical signs such as circumcision: Genesis 17:19- And God said , Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed ; and thou shalt call his name Isaac : and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant , and with his seed after him. Genesis 17:23- And Abraham took Ishmael his son , and all that were born in his house , and all that were bought with his money , every male among the men of Abraham's house ; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him. John 7:22- Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision ; (not because it is of Moses , but of the fathers and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man Another sign of Old Covenant is Obedience... Exodus 19:5-6-5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed , and keep my covenant , then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people : for all the earth is mine: ; 6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests , and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel The New Covenant is based on spiritual Promises, and ETERNAL LIFE.. John 3:16-For God so loved the world , that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish , but have everlasting life. Hebrews 8:6- But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry , by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant , which was established upon better promises The Old Covenant is perfected by following the Letters of the Law,by doing this and doing that...It is also commonly called the Work Covenant.. Romans 7:6-But now we are delivered from the law , that being dead wherein we were held ; that we should serve in newness of spirit , and not in the oldness of the letter. Leviticus 18:5-Ye shall therefore keep my statutes , and my judgments : which if a man do , he shall live in them: I am the LORD. The New Covenant is perfected by just believing in JESUS..the grace of God.. Romans 10:9- That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9-For by grace are ye saved through faith ; and that not of yourselves : it is the gift of God : 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast Ephesians 2;18-22-18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father . 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners , but fellow citizens with the saints , and of the household of God ; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets , Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together growethunto an holy temple in the Lord : 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit .
18. Q3. (Exodus 19:6; 1 Peter 2:9) In what sense is Israel a "holy" nation? What does it mean to be holy? Why do you think that personal holiness is de-emphasized in our time? Answer: 1.In what sense is Israel a "holy" nation? What does it mean to be holy? They were a holy nation, Exodus 19:6; for they were separated from all the people of the earth, that they might worship the one only true God, and abstain from the abominations that were in the heathen world. 2Why do you think that personal holiness is de-emphasized in our time? It was de emphasized,in our time because it always connotes to Work mentality..DO THIS...DO THAT...DONT DO THIS..DONT DO THAT...so that you will be right and Holy in the sight of God,making the GRACE OF GOD...NO EFFECT.
19. Q2. (Exodus 19:6; 1 Peter 2:9) What did priests do in the Old Testament? In what sense are you a priest? How do you function as a priest? In what sense are you a "royal" priest? In what areas can your personal priestly function improve? Exodus 19:6-And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests , and an holy nation . These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel . 1Pet 2:9 1 Peter 2:9- But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood , an holy nation , a peculiar people ; that ye should shew forth the praisesof him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light :Answer: 1What did priests do in the Old Testament? In what sense are you a priest? Priest basically in the Old Testament, represents God..The first time, the Word priest came in the Bible is in: Genesis 14:18-And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. Here Melchizedek is both King and Priest, and to Him,Abraham offered his tithes of His Loot,as a sign of Gratitude to God,who delivered Him,and make Him victorious. The priest are also the one,who worship and offered sacrifice in behalf of the people. 1 Samuel 1:3- And this man went up out of his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the LORD of hosts in Shiloh . And the two sons of Eli , Hophni and Phinehas , the priests of the LORD , were there. This is the reason, why the Kingship of Saul was cut abruptly..for disobeying and doing the work of a priest,..the work which Samuel should do. 1 Samuel 13:9- And Saul said , Bring hither a burnt offeringto me, and peace offerings . And he offered the burnt offering. And notice what Samuel told Saul. That God intended Him,and his generation to be King forever in Israel.. It means,King David is just the second choice. It was King Saul, whom God has chosen to be King forever in Israel: 1 Samuel 13:13-14-AndSamuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly : thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God , which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever . 14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue : the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart , and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people , because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commandedthee. We are a priest as privelege, because of what Jesus has done... Rev 1:5-6- 5 And from Jesus Christ , who is the faithful witness , and the first begotten of the dead , and the prince of the kings of the earth . Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood , 6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father ; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever . Amen 1 Peter 2:5-Yealso , as lively stones , are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer upspiritual sacrifices , acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Rev 5:10- Andhast made us unto our God kings and priests : and we shall reign onthe earth. 2.How do you function as a priest? In what sense are you a "royal" priest? In what areas can your personal priestly function improve? If we are born again and receive Jesus as our Personal Saviour, then we are a Priest, being washed by the blood of Jesus Christ. We function,as a priest by following God great commission and PreachGospel to all creature.. Mark 16:15-And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world , and preach the gospel to every creature. For all were called to sacrifice to God; and he is represented to be the King of that people, and Father of those of whom he was king; therefore they were all royal...royal priesthood..The highest form/status of beleivers, because of what Jesus has done, full of power,by the annointing of the Holy Spirit. We can improve,by knowing always who we are in Christ, and by the empowering of the Holy Spirit.
20. Q1. (Exodus 19:5; 1 Peter 2:9) From an emotional standpoint, what does it feel like to take out and look over one of your treasured possessions? How was the idea of "treasured possession" fulfilled in Israel? What does it feel like to be God's treasured possession -- as we Christians clearly are according to 1 Peter 2:9? 25. 4. (Exodus 14:4, 17-18) Why is God's glory important in the Exodus? How is recognition of his glory important to faith? To holiness? To reverence? What happens when leaders take for themselves the credit and glory that should go only to God? How can leaders keep themselves from pride? Answer: 1Why is God's glory important in the Exodus? God needs to impose His POWER to the unbelieving Egyptians, and to reinforce his power to the Hebrew people. The Egyptians, despite the plagues that came one after the other, doesn't really fear the God of Moses, and the Hebrew people..And without fear, there is also no respect. They(the Egyptians)are the most powerful army during their time, and theie invincibility, might have added to their arrogance. The Egyptians people has also a lot of God,and they might be thinking that Their God is equal to the Ever Powerful living God. So after the parting of the Red Sea,and the eventual death of the Egyptian Army..The Hebrew people,is very thankful, and believe GOD. Exodus 14:31- And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians : and the people feared the LORD , and believed the LORD , and his servant Moses And the news of this event spread abroad, and instill fear among the people. 2.How is recognition of his glory important to faith? To holiness? To reverence? Because of the display of God's power and glory, the people feared and revered God. Exodus 15:14-16-14 The people shall hear , and be afraid : sorrowshall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina . 15 Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed ; the mighty men of Moab , trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away . 16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone ; till thy people pass over , O LORD , till the people pass over , which thou hast purchased . 3What happens when leaders take for themselves the credit and glory that should go only to God? They are selfish leaders, false teachers, false prophets...Jesus said in John 15:5..THAT WITHOUT HIM,WE CAN DO NOTHING... 4.How can leaders keep themselves from pride? By always recognizing, who they are in Christ....Their union with Jesus Christ,is the only reason why they are what and whom they are.
