  1. Q1. (3:8-9) Which of the qualities Peter mentions in 3:8-9 are most evident in your congregation? Which are most needed? What can you and your friends do to change the relational climate at your Church so it is more Christ-like? I think we are pretty good in all these ares but I think we could all use a little more of each one of theres things. I think harmony we could use a little moe of and probably humility. I think we all need to reach out and set the example for others in the church.
  2. Q1. What kinds of circumstances in modern life can you think of where a single person acts for an entire group? In what ways are members of the group tied to this person? Examples of this would be Presidents decisions affecting the whole nation. ,Ceo's decisions affecting all employees on all levels. Father for the household. Judges interpreting laws. There are many many situations where one man decides the fate of other. Military leaders,Teachers etc.
  3. Q4. (Romans 5:9-11) What does "reconciliation" mean? Why is reconciliation with God necessary? We understand our having been saved by Jesus' death (5:10a, past tense). In what sense are we being saved (5:10b, present tense) by his life? What is Jesus doing for us in the present? Reconciliation means to go from being at odds with someone to having harmony with them. We are one with God. It is necessary for our salvation. All our sins from now on are forgiven giving us eternal life guaranteeing our salvation for all times.
  4. Q3. (Romans 5:6, 8) Why is it so important to embrace the truth that "Christ died for the ungodly" (5:6), that "Christ died for sinners" (5:8)? According to 5:8, did Christ die for us at our best or at our worst? How does this give us assurance against the devil's lies about us being too bad to forgive? We have to embrace this fact because if he didn't die for sinners which we all are then we have no hope of salvation. We know thats why God sent his son to redeem us from our sins thus giving us eternal life. If he waited till we were good to save us none of us would be saved because he said not one of us was good we were born with a sin nature. Thats why it took his death on the cross to save us.
  5. Q2. (Romans 5:2-5) According to this passage why should we rejoice in our sufferings and tribulations? One by one, what is the importance to our lives of: perseverance, tried character, and hope? Our suffering brings us to be more like Jesus. These are the things he uses to change us for the better. They make us stronger in our walk with him. He uses them to make us a Christian people will see and want to be like. perseverance: We need this to hold out in our struggles until we get our final reward. Tried character: We build our character through our trials its what we learn and use for our strength. Hope: Its what we look forward too. Our eternal life, life in Heaven with the Lord Jesus. We believe in him and his word this gives us our hope.
  6. Q1. (Romans 5:1-2) According to verses 1-2, faith is a key to salvation. For Abraham (4:3), what was the relationship between faith and justification? For us (5:1-2), what is the relationship between faith and justification? In your own words, just what does it mean to be justified? The relationship to us is our salvation and eternal life. Were justified by the shedding of Jesus blood that pardoned our sins we were forgiven. Faith is the belief in that Jesus came to earth died and was resurrected. justified means being pardoned the slate wiped clean.
  7. Q5. (3:7) How can treating one's wife wrongly hinder a husband's prayers. How can treating a husband wrongly hinder a wife's prayers? God won't answer prayers from people who are in God's word. Those who are listening to God and following his instruction he won't honor their prayers. We have to submit our selfs to him then he will answer us.
  8. Q4. (3:7) Why should a husband relate to his wife with knowledge and wisdom? In what way does this demonstrate love? In what way does this demonstrate self-interest? Why do men sometimes try to dominate their wives? Why do wives sometimes try to dominate their husbands? What harm does this do? How is domination of another person contrary to God's nature He should relate in the knowledge & wisdom given by God through the scriptures on how a woman is to be treated. We are to love them as God loves his children. This will show reverence and respect. We try to dominate each other because of our sin mature. We don't like to be controlled but in control. God's nature is for us to be loving and caring for each other.
  9. Q3. (3:4-6) How does a person cultivate inner beauty? How does one gain character? Why is true character so important and precious to God? How can character help a Christian woman win and hang onto her husband? By letting the Holy Spirit work through you with his fruits. By being a Godly person not living of the world. God wants you to be one of his children. Children are precious to a father. You can only have this through true character & a Christian life. He sees the inner beauty and character she has and desires that for himself. He knows this is the kind of woman tht he wants for his life mate.
  10. Q2. (3:3) Why should women try to look their best? How can trying to look their best divert women from what is more important? What is the balance? They should look their best in a Godly way. So they will be seen as a Christian, that others will want what they have. They need not be all dressed up so to speak. If their focus is on their beauty and jewelry that becomes their main worship not God.
  11. Q1. (3:1) Why is submission so difficult for us humans? Does submission require you to be silent when you don't agree or feel something can be improved? When is submission wrong for Christian? We don't like giving up our control of our selfs to another. We like to feel we know whats best for our selfs. No you don't need to be silent if things are wrong. You need to approach it in a christian manner. It would be wrong if the thing your submitting to is a sin.
  12. Q4. (2:24b) If Jesus died to set us free from sin's power, why does sin have such power over us still? According to 2:24b, how must we deal with sin? In practical terms, how can we "die to sin"? In everyday language, what does "live for righteousness" mean? Because we were born with a sin nature so the power is still in us. We must deal with it like it is dead because it died with Jesus. We can deal with it through Jesus Christ. Living righteous means following Gods word and putting our faith in him. Living as Jesus lived.
  13. Q3. (2:24a) This may seem like a simplistic question, but give it thought before you answer, and then answer thoughtfully. What is the significance to you personally that Jesus bore your sins in his own body on the cross? That he loved me so much that he would take such a horrible beating and death to save me,and give me eternal life. That is as personal as it gets for someone to lay their life on the line for you.
  14. Q2. Why is Jesus' sinlessness important to understanding your salvation? In what way do you think Jesus suffered when your sins were poured into his soul? How could a sinless Man stand this kind of corruption? Without a spotless, sinless sacrifice, we would have no salvation. For a sinless person to have all that sin heaped on him had to horrific. He could stand it because he was God and only God could get through that kind of thing
  15. Q4. (2:21-23) How does Christ's example speak to your situation? How is your behavior going to be different because of what you see in Jesus' character in this passage? It shows us how react to situations in out life. We are to trust in God,not retaliate or fall back on or sin nature to handle the situation. We put out trust in the Lord.
  16. Q3. (2:18-20) How does being an employee "conscious of God" affect the way we act and react to injustice in the workplace? Can a conscientious Christian be a complainer? Why or why not? How do you usually react to prolonged, unfair treatment at your work? We act different than most in that we go by God's word and respect the authority over us placed by God. We look at it as coming from God. No we can't be a complainer God hates that. We are to follow the leaders God has put in place.
  17. Q2. (2:18) If we are to submit to our employers and respect them, what is that saying about God's expectation that we do a good job? In what sense do we dishonor God when we don't give our full effort to our jobs? God says we are to be submissive to all authority. Doing this shows our willingness to follow God's laws. It dishonors him because were not acting like Christians thus being a bad example to the rest of the world.
  18. Q1. (2:15-16) In what way is God's glory dependent upon us living submissive, obedient lives? How is God hurt when we get rebellious? Were servants of the Lord therefor we we must be submissive to him and all authority. In being submissive to all and being Loving and obeying God's laws people can see we are God's children. In so doing this brings glory to God. When were rebellious were telling God we think we can handle our live better than he can its like turning our backs on him. When people see us acting out it doesn't entice them to turn to the Lord.
  19. Q5. (2:12) How can the good deeds we commit by living openly as Christians increase God's praise. How does our "blending in" detract from God's praise? Living openly gives glory to God. We show the world what a glorious and joyful life we have This glorifies God and brings souls to him. In this way it gives praise to God. Blending in makes us look like everybody else thus taking praise from God. People will think why turn to God your just like me so why bother. Thus hurting God.
  20. Q4. (2:11) Read 1 Peter 2:11 carefully. The world tells us (1) to conform and (2) that sin won't hurt us. What does Peter tell us to combat these lies? How can this reminder help us? Peter tells us we are not of this world we are of God. We need to stay away from the worldly things because they are in conflict with our souls. They will take us away from God. The things of this world are evil and against God's laws.
  21. Q3. (2:9) What actions and attitudes should this idea of being part of God's own people inspire in us? We are to act like the royal family of God. T o be Holy, set an example for the world to follow. We have to love thy neighbor, follow God's law and be righteous. Let the Holy Spirit work through us and guide us.
  22. Q2. (2:5) If your praise is primarily for God's benefit, not your own, how should you be offering praise? Giving thanks to what God supplies us not asking for more and more. Giving him all the glory for everything. Praise him with worship, song and telling the world about how awesome he is.
  23. Q1. (2.5) Christians often look at their relation to God as consumers, delighting in what God does for them. What is the mindset of a priest towards God? What actions does this mindset inspire in you? Doing God's will not your own. Doing what is righteous in the eyes of the Lord. Spreading the word and serving the Lord. Studying his word. Listening to the Spirit and being an example to everybody else.
  24. Q4. (1:18-19) Have you ever felt you were of no worth or of no value? What does 1 Peter 1:18-19 say about your worth? What does it say about God's love for you? What does it indicate about the long-term value of your balance sheet and financial assets? What are your true long-term investments? Why? He says were worth more to God than gold or silver is on earth. Theres nothing worth more to God than we are. We or so loved by God that he sent his son to die to save us thats being valued very highly by God. Our balance sheet has been wiped claen so were good to forever our slate was wiped clean. Our long term investments are eternal life,Heaven and spending eternity with Jesus.
  25. Q3. (1:17) Why are people in our culture so upset when they sense they are being judged by someone else? How do you reconcile final judgment with God's love for the world? Why must final judgment be at the core of the Good News of Jesus Christ? What happens to the Gospel when final judgment is left out or ignored? People are lead to think what ever is good for them at that moment in time is right for them so theres no need for judgment. They think no ones better than anyone else so who can judge them. God loves the world so much he can't allow evil to go unpunished. The final judgment has to be done to rid the world of evil making everyone left holy. Bringing the world back to where it was before sin came in. Then you would have no reason to believe the Bible if we just did our own thing died and became worm bait in the ground. You would have no meaning to existence no reason to go on nothing to look forward toat the end of this life on earth.
