Craig
Q3. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) What makes people so gullible that they believe the Antichrist’s deceptions? What is the reason that God gives them over to this deception? Why is a fearless seeking of God’s truth so important to us? How can a preaching of the truth set people free? They are so gullible and blind because they have rejected the truth contained in the Bible -- God's Word. Because of their refusal to love the truth and be saved God give them over to their own dark minds. A fearless pursue of God's truth is our salvation, hope, witness, and clear commitment/testimony to the Living God and His Son Jesus the Christ. As believers, at the judgment seat of Christ our fearless seeking of God's truth will be individually reviewed. Preaching the gospel truth can set people free from satanic/self blindness, ignorance, darkness, and eternal separation from the majesty of God. Jen
Q3. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) What makes people so gullible that they believe the Antichrist's deceptions? What is the reason that God gives them over to this deception? Why is a fearless seeking of God's truth so important to us? How can a preaching of the truth set people free? This is so scary to realize what is in us. My answer to the gullibleness of people is summed up in our sin nature. We are blinded to the truth that could set us free and even when the truth is made plain we refuse to believe. We prefer our own way. Who wants God when we can have all this world offers or just go around as rebels without a cause. And we have no cause. The truth of God is revealed in nature, in the heavens, in His Word, in the Holy Spirit, in the life of Christ. But we don't want that. It would mean work on our part and we would rather just have fun. We don't want God. We want what our sin nature leads us too. Just don't think about God. "Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die". 1Cor 15:32. I see it all around me. The pretty little things in the church services which make the people feel all warm and fuzzy and are meaningless because only Christ who is left out can save or the truth of Him is colored to make it more palitable and therefore devoid of the truth. As we deceive ourselves in little things our hearts harden more and more so we refuse the truth. We do it to ourselves. This is a hard truth to accept. We willingly choose this path. It is the easier one in this doomed world. We must diligently search God's truth so that we do not become as those who do not believe. We must be a witness for our Lord in this world so there is no excuse. We must love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind and soul and strength. God says to do it and if we don't we deprive God of what He desires and we bring upon ourselves laziness in our character and the consequences thereoff. God Bless! Thanking Joan
What makes people gullible to the Antichrist's deceptions is they refuse to love the truth. People who are in sin and rebellion and have hard heartedness towards the things of our God will definetley fall prey to the Antichrist and his deceptions. Why God gives them over to this deception is of their very own refusal to know Him ,His word His truth. The word says there is no salvation other than in Jesus and those who walk their way after hearing the truth God gives them over to deceptions. Powerful truth... I thank God for bringing me to this grace and truth and will pray for the lost to find the truth. A fearless seeking of God's truth is so very important so that we do not fall prey to the deceptions of the Antichrist,we stand firm on the day of evil wearing the armor of God as listed in Ephesians 6. The preaching of the truth will set people free because they will know the light ,they will know the truth and no longer be bound in chains of darkness. This truth of the Lord Jesus will make them free to worship HIm and not the Antichrist and will be counted worthy among those believers when Jesus comes ... JanMary
Q3. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) What makes people so gullible that they believe the Antichrist’s deceptions? The unsaved love the darkness, and power. The deceptions and miraculous signs and lying wonders will be attended by great power, provided by the Prince of Darkness, the Father of Lies! They want and are attracted to power, but do not love the Truth and shun the Light. What is the reason that God gives them over to this deception? He does this because they rejected and did not welcome the Truth (His Son Jesus) when He came, that they might be saved in order that all may be judged and condemned who did not believe in the Truth, but instead took pleasure in unrighteousness. (in other words, those will have no excuse at the judgment and can blame no one but themselves and their conscious choices.) Why is a fearless seeking of God’s truth so important to us? Jesus told us "If you abide in My word, you are my disciples. And you will KNOW the Truth and the Truth will set you free." And "All Truth is embodied and personified in Jesus". John 4:21. We seek Jesus Who is Truth. We have an enemy, the deceiver who's goal is to lead us away from Truth, into error and destruction and deception....to give him place in our lives to reign in bondage over us, and away from freedom and a life that will glorify Christ! How can a preaching of the truth set people free? Paul said in Romans, How can they believe if they don't HEAR, and how can they HEAR if one is not sent? People need the opportunity to HEAR the truth in order to make a decision about what to believe. We're born into Adam's sin and darkness and will stay there until hell, unless the Truth is presented so that those who are hungry can choose the Light of the World, Jesus, (or to choose to remain in darkness). Many know they are in bondage and are "stuck", unable to get free on their own and welcome having their chains loosed through the Truth! hanks
Q3. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) What makes people so gullible that they believe the Antichrist's deceptions? What is the reason that God gives them over to this deception? Why is a fearless seeking of God's truth so important to us? How can a preaching of the truth set people free? I think people are so gullible because they do not know the true Word, and therefore have not developed the power of discernment. They do not love and therefore reject the truth; they hate our Lord Jesus Christ, and love their sin instead. It is almost like a self-imposed blindness. We know God is love and He so earnestly wants us to accept the truth but after repeatedly rejecting Him he hardens them so that they start believing all the lies and falsehood of the Antichrist. Only by fearlessly seeking God’s truth and listening to the true Word being preached will our eyes, heart, and mind be opened to love and accept the Word for what it is and not be hoodwinked by the evil that abounds. Lion of Grace
Q3. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) What makes people so gullible that they believe the Antichrist’s deceptions? What is the reason that God gives them over to this deception? Why is a fearless seeking of God’s truth so important to us? How can a preaching of the truth set people free? People are gullible enough to believe the Antichrist's deception because they have refused to love the truth and so be saved and because they turn from the truth, God gives them over to be deceived. All will be condemned who do not believe the truth but delight in wickedness. The reason God gives them over to deception is because He doesn't give an infinite number of chances. There is a limit. They lose the ability to discern right from wrong. Their conscience is seared. When they lose that compass, they love darkness and follow satan. It's not they they didn't have many chances or did not hear the truth. They turn away from the truth and light. A fearless seeking of God's truth is so important because it keeps us IN the truth. If we saturate with the truth and seek the truth always, we are filled with the truth. We can discern right from wrong and we will avoid darkness and evil and walk in the light of truth. Preaching of the truth can set a person free because it either teaches truth for the first time so people can embrace truth and repent and start walking in the truth or preaching can be a reminder for those who have begun to stray and will turn people back to what is right and true. Preaching can help us day to day to stay in the truth also because we hear the truth continuously.
charisbarak
They know the truth, but practice sin and don't listen to their consciences. Eventually, the conscience is seared and they cannot hear the truth anymore. They have been deluded. God let them be deceived, It was obvious they did not love the truth. Seeking the truth gives us light needed to make decisions. It also helps us recognize deceit. Truth leads us into more truth--The Truth. It's like a special path though a battlefield. parkerslope
What makes people so gullible that they believe the man of lawlessness' deceptions? People love their own sinful lifestyle and would feel guilty if they would believe the truth. The man of lawlessness provides believable deceptions that sinners want to believe and follow. Following the truth is too hard or difficult for them to accomplish. What is the reason that God gives them over to this deception? God is all knowing and knows who's conscience will not change, so He lets them "do their own thing" to dig deeper into sin. Why is a fearless seeking of God's truth so important to us? God wants us to truly believe, so He gives us "crashes" in life to show our faith and grow stronger in our ability to seek God's truth and not lies. How can a preaching of the truth set people free? God has set forth preaching of the Gospel to let people know what needs to be done to gain eternal life. By knowing the truth and believing it will set you free from the control of this world of sin. t-c
Q3. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) What makes people so gullible that they believe the Antichrist’s deceptions? He is a master of deception and will perform signs, wonder, and miracles etc... that will even deceive the elect. I think as God's children, we would be foolish to underestimate his power to deceive believers. 1 John 4:1 Dear friends do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. God will also blind those who have "refused to love the truth; so that they will believe the lie." What is the reason that God gives them over to this deception? "Since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done." (Romans 1:28) Knowing the truth, yet rejecting it, not doing what is right, even though we know better. 2Timothy 3:5 -"having a form of Godliness, yet denying it's power." Why is a fearless seeking of God's truth so important to us? Because as we seek the truth through God's word with the Holy Spirit's guidance, and are obedient to the truth; when a lie, false teachings or leadership come along we will be able to discern it for what it is, because we are it the truth. To spot a conterfeit, you have to know the genuine article through and through. "John 8:31-32 If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know thw truth, and the truth will set you free." How can a preaching of the truth set people free? Romans 10:17 "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ." It can introduce us to Jesus Christ, " the way the truth and the life." Salvation is freedom, Jesus is the only Savior! John 8:36 " So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
Delivered
Q3. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) What makes people so gullible that they believe the Antichrist's deceptions? The world is lost because they choose to be, however, Paul is reminding those who believe – you who believe in the Messiah are called to stand strong, worthy of His calling, therefore put on the WHOLE armor of God so you will be able to stand against evil, the APOSTASY of Satan. Satan is ruler of this world and he has men in power and in high places, therefore by choosing each day to put on God's armor, you will be more able to stand strong and not be “GULLIBLE” therefore falling to the apostasy of the Evil One. We who are in covenant with God know full well – the CROSS calls us unto that of RIGHTEOUSNESS, the Son has written His Father’s LAWS on our CIRCUMCISED hearts for us to do them, with the reason being, they lead us out of darkness and set us unto the glorious path of HOLINESS. Judgment is coming for those who continue to walk in that of iniquity, but for those who truly believe, your delight is in following God’s way of righteousness, being a faithful bride of God’s Son. What is the reason that God gives them over to this deception? God gives them over to deception because they "CHOOSE" to be deceived; therefore God will not cross over the free "WILL" of mankind. Ezek 33 tells us, many will hear the word of God and will even pray, and with their mouth will show much love, but their heart, their deeds will not reflect what their words say, for in their backsliding, their hearts reflect that they choose not to "OBEY" by following that of RIGHTEOUSNESS. They chose to be deceived because their hearts were not persistent in doing that of good works; instead their hearts reflect that of “SELF-SEEKING,” rejecting "TRUTH” choosing to follow the path of evil instead. Therefore, God who is "HOLY" turns away from those who continue to be workers of iniquity. Why is a fearless seeking of God's truth so important to us? TRUTH will set us free, and it is there for all those who will fearlessly "SEEK" after it.
wjcargile
People are gullible because they love to hear the easy way, good things that perks their ears, rather than the truth and be save. They do not want to hear there is an accountabilty for those who chose to keep CHRIST out of their lives. God gives them over to deception when they refuse to love the truth and be saved. God sends them a powerful delusion so they believes satan's lies. Fearless seeking of God's truth is important: because by seeking the truth we learn His way and accept the Lord JESUS CHRIST in our hearts, and we are saved. We must walk daily with Him, and be ready for the return of "THE KING OF KINGS AND THE LORD OF LORDS." Preaching of the truth sets people free by turning away from the prision of sins and following CHRIST JESUS daily.
elizabeth kerr
I think that people who will believe the Antichrist's deceptions 1--will have believed many lies before his time; maybe because they wanted to believe the lies that made life so "beautiful, exciting, ..." or maybe because they trusted the person who told the lies. 2-- will be blinded by Satan, their prince 3-- will have rejected God and defied Him, doing so many wicked things that He will have given them over to their own perversions, the ones they themselves chose! We must know God's truth so that we can test ALL the teachings we are exposed to in order to see if each one conforms to Scripture or not. And we must test everything we hear and read because much of it is false teaching aimed at deceiving us. So, we must read God's Word, the Bible, a lot. As we read, we must observe exactly what it says, thinking about it, and looking for the connections between different passages of Scripture and the connections to our lives in this world. We need to know how God sees the people and situations that we encounter and how he responds to each so that we can imitate Him. ...and we need to know ahead of time, not afterwards. I do not know if true Christians can be deceived into "believing and following" the Antichrist when we experience torture and/or watch our loved ones being tortured; true stories from the persecuted church over the centuries show some who have remained faithful and some others who have turned away from Jesus but later repented and returned to Him, after being tortured. I am not so arrogant or so self-assured that I will say that I will remain faithful always no matter what although I hope and pray that I will. But I think that true Christians can be deceived into believing false teachings that do not go so far as denying Christ. And I have noticed that some well-known Christian leaders, pastors, and writers have changed their beliefs and teachings over time., and even some denominations are fighting over certain issues and changing their official doctrines. So, I think it is necessary to test even the teaching of Christians who are highly esteemed in the church as faithful and wise and to pay attention to what is happening in our local churches and our denominations. Guitar Jim
Q3. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) What makes people so gullible that they believe the Antichrist’s deceptions? There are many reasons. People want to believe anything but the truth most of the time. Then there is God's principle at work, in which He stated that His Spirit will not always strive with man. Because people continue to reject the Gospel and the One the Gospel points to as the way the truth and the life, God has actually allowed them to wallow in their unbelief and to embrace deception. What is the reason that God gives them over to this deception? He most likely figures He's given them enough rope. People have rejected Christ and so God has exhausted His patience. That's pretty scary. Why is a fearless seeking of God’s truth so important to us? It's the very road to eternal life! We need to continue to seek to know more about God. In fact it's the most important thing we can do. Seek FIRST the Kingdon of God and His righteousness and all these things (our daily needs) will be supplied. How can a preaching of the truth set people free? They can be set free by believing the truth that is preached. Belief comes from hearing. RD35
People are made gullible to the Antichirst’s deception because they have refused the truth that is Jesus, people do not want to read the word of God which will show them the truth. Sin has blinded people and so they are getting deceived. antonate
People are gullible to antichrist's deceptions because they do not want to accept Jesus as Lord and master of their lives. The door to eternal life is narrow and hence people do not want to lead by the narrow ways that is live their lives based on the Word of God - rather the ways and teachings and ways of the world look easy and attractive to follow. God gives them over to deception because of the refusal to accept Jesus as the way the truth and life and also because they desire and long to follow the pattern of the world and not the Word of God. Trusting God
How can a preaching of the truth set people free? A preaching of the truth can set people free when they will realize that the power of God is greater than any hold that Satan and His demons of darkness, sin, wickedness, and deception can have over them. Satan is a deceiver and a destroyer of all that is holy and right. God wants to build up a person in character and righteousness of the truth. When we preach the gospel of truth we show the world that we have confident in God and His ability and power to help us to live holy lives before Him and the world. In spite, of the opposition we can stand firm in the truth of God’s Word and His promises.
Old Jerry
The reason that people are so gullible that they will believe the Antichrist’s deceptions is because they don’t have the truth. The reason that God gives them over to this deception is because they don’t believe in Him even though He is the one that created them. I think that fearless seeking of God’s truth is so important because He is going to protect us and will always be with us. If we don’t have His truth then we will also turned over to the deception. The Antichrist will be the politican of all times with sweet words and signs and wonders. Jesus warned his disciples and they passed on His warning. There were and are those who refuse to hear and love the truth. People are gullible and believe every sweet word or promise that will satisfy their flesh and provide the comfort or excitement they desire. What is the reason that God gives them over to this deception? Why is a fearless seeking of God’s truth so important to us? How can a preaching of the truth set people free? God has a plan! we the people of the earth do not know the plan and we are unable to comprehend the plan and the purpose of the plan. In this plan God is active, not passively sitting on the side lines. He created the universe and set it running in according to his principles. God has blessed the earth. Some people, it seems do not believe in the creative Lord as saviour. Instead they believe the lie that is presented -that the evil of the worldly powers is in fact the truth. The failure of people to see beyond this lie seems, according to scripture, to be destined to the due penalty for their perversion. The just God of Grace will decide their punishment. Damary Alembi
Q3. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) What makes people so gullible that they believe the Antichrist's deceptions? Lack of love for truth makes people so gullible. “They perish because they refuse to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.” Christ’s second coming will be without further warning. Christ will come suddenly. We may know the season of his coming, but not the exact time. Unexpectedly and without notice. Keep watch. You must be ready because the son of man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. What is the reason that God gives them over to this deception? They perish because they refuse to love the truth and so be saved. Why is a fearless seeking of God's truth so important to us? It is very important because after a while, our grasp of the truth will have faded, our consciences will have seared, and we are left believing our own lies. That is why we dare not put off responding to the call of God at the time he calls us.
Reuben
On 1/1/2013 at 11:41 AM, Pastor Ralph said: Q3. Why is a fearless seeking of God’s truth so important to us? How can a preaching of the truth set people free? People are gullible at the best of times, we can only look at what the reaction of people is when things pop up on social media, and how easily they go with a story or not. This is only because they respond to something they have no facts and knowledge about. That is why they will believe the Antichrist so easily because it will impress them, and they will go with it, but not having the knowledge of the Biblical truth and warnings they will not know any different. God gives them over to their deception because we have choices in life, and choosing makes us so special in this life, and separates us from other living things as humans created in Gods image. If they choose to believe and cling on to deception it is what God has allowed them to do, because they have choices, and He can not force these choices upon them, because that will remove the freedom to choose and True love to God will be a forced or automatic choice and this will be no loving relationship that God wants. We have to seek God's truth fearlessly, and this means not allowing to be misled by false prophets or any person changing the truth, and speaking out fearlessly when you do to correct them and prevent yourself from falling deeper into the lie. The bible says it clearly that the truth shall set us free, and preaching the truth will not lead to deception, and misleading new or weaker Christians so they will not be able to discern a lie later.
