Q4. Seeking First the Kingdom of God

Recommended Posts

Q4. (Matthew 6:33) What is the command in this verse? How must our seeking God differ from our seeking of food and clothing, according to this verse? What is the promise found in this verse?

The command in this verse is seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.

According to this verse, our seeking God must differ from our seeking of food and clothing in a way that the seeking God is done first, given priority first.

The promise found in this verse is if we seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, all things, that is, food, clothing and other things we need, will be given to us as well.

Q4. (Matthew 6:33) What is the command in this verse?

The command in this verse is "seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;"

How must our seeking God differ from our seeking of food and clothing, according to this verse?

Our seeking need not be about the temporal things of life but we are to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. We are to have God and His reign as priority in all things.

What is the promise found in this verse?

The promise here is that all the other temporal things He will supply.

"Seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you"

The command is to seek God's kingdom and his righteousness first, above and beyond all other things, and all our needs will be provided.

Q4. (Matthew 6:33) What is the command in this verse? How must our seeking God differ from our seeking of food and clothing, according to this verse? What is the promise found in this verse?

"Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness."

The spiritual seeking after the things of God needed for the survival of our eternal souls is to come before the seeking of the carnal things needed for the survival and comfort of our bodies.

If we do seek after the things of God first, and strive to stay in the center of His will, He will make sure we have the things we need to live.

Q4. (Matthew 6:33) What is the command in this verse? How must our seeking God differ from our seeking of food and clothing, according to this verse? What is the promise found in this verse?

To seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. That means to value God above everything else, because where our treasure is or where we place the most value, there our hearts will be also.

We do not need to seek food and clothing, or anyting else as that just gets in the way of our seeking God

The promise is that God will provide all these things (food, drink and clothing, by which I tink Jesus means our basic needs for living) if we seek Him first.

Q4. (Matthew 6:33) What is the command in this verse? How must our seeking God differ from our seeking of food and clothing, according to this verse? What is the promise found in this verse?

The command is to seek, go after, God. Seeking God must differ from seeking physical needs because it must be our motivator. It must come first and be our driving force and what we crave and desire and define how our physical needs are met. For me, as I have grown closer to the Lord, I have found that what I consider "necessary" has also changed and diminshed.

The promise is that we will be provided for as we are obedient to the Lord.

What is the command in this verse? To seek God and His righousness first always.

How must our seeking God differ from our seeking of food and clothing, according to this verse? God is supreme, He is our Deliver. Our only provider of life, through Jesus we become heirs to His Kingdom and eternal life with Him.. Food and Clothes are merely things which sustain our earthly life. But our spiritual being can only receive God's graces through faith. What is the promise found in this verse? He will always sustain but we must put Him first in all that we do! He will be with us for eternity. He will never leave us.

 Flying blind.

The command in Matthew 6:33 is Seek.  We must seek First his kingdom and his righteousness.  If we do then all will be given to us.  The promise is if, if, we seek Him, He will take care of us.  I do not mean riches in the earthly way, but riches in the spiritual realm.

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.  We must desire Him to the point that our energies is aimed at wanting more of Him, searching and longing for a closer relationship constantly.  Those things would be added.

Seek the kingdom of God and righteousness. We must work to find God here on earth. We must find the connection to the Holy Spirit that dwells within us. We must learn to hear the voice of God in our thoughts and hearts. God is to be our ultimate quest. We are to work to know him. We are to do the work on our path to honor him. Once we make God the center of our life. God will make sure that we have clothes, food and shelter are we need. Our works will be rewarded with our needs  being supplied. We will not have to waste our time or energy by worrying over the basics.

We are to seek first his kingdom and his righteousness. We are to be looking to God for everything. If we do what He has asked us to do then He will take care of all our needs. We don’t need to be hording or trying to accumulate a lot of wealth. If we are keeping Him first the He will take care of us.

The promise in this verse is that all these things will be given to us as well.

To seek God first.

That we must put God first, seek him with our whole heart.

That if we put God first all these things will be given.

4.1 What is the command in this verse?

To seek/desire first and foremost His Kingdom i.e His Rule and also to desire or to possess His Righteousness.

In Matthew 5:48 the Amplified Translation states, ... grow into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character ... (our priority must be God first). We are to thirst for this that it takes our everything to do and be so. It is not a self-achieved righteousness but the fruit of Christ's righteousness imputed to us, by faith in Christ.

4.2 How must our seeking God differ from our seeking of food and clothing, according to this verse?

To seek God must be first and foremost in our lives. Searching for the wrong thing first will **** us, it will pre-occupy us that we forget about God.

4.3 What is the promise found in this verse?

The promise is that the temporal things which we need, will then be added to us as well. (Put plainly, our needs will be met or provided.)
