It's attractive because it shows others that you are a beliver and follower of the Law. Others will look upon you as having a closer relationship with God. As my mother would say, "the proof of the pudding is in the eating." In otherwords, saying you are does not mean anything. You must manifest your faith walk from the inside out.,

It produces a felling of self righteousness as you follow the law. Real change is brought about by the Holy Spirit, working on the inside.

It can become a means for man to continue living in the flesh, while at the same time, it appears to others, as being a religious person.

Legalism in itself is a means of being deceived by Satan, man thinking he is pleasing God, when it is the praise of man he seeks.

God gave orders to His chosen people Israel, to be holy, to consecrate themselves; God made a distinction between the unclean and the clean,

kosher and non kosher animals.

The dietary laws were part of God's call of separation to the Jewish people - Jesus taught the law is to observed, but, not as

those who were teaching them - to be seen by man, in the form of legalism.

The law is to be a light before our path, a means for us to love God - with ones heart!

(Mat 23:23) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and

have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

The fruit produced should be seen in our love to God, "if you love me, keep my commandments." and a means by which we can "love each other"

Not sure if I understand the question? Jesus taught us in Luke 11:27-28 that they who keep the "word," which includes the

Torah and its mitzvot, are blessed. God's promise to Israel, and to us, the law will be written on our hearts, a means to love each other and God by.

The difference is that the true gospel through the Holy spirit touches and changes the inner man. Only the Holy spirit can create a truly godly person.

It's attractive because it is the way we want to believe it , our way. It will produce no fruit. The true gospel will stand for itself. It will prove itself because God's word is true. There is now way to back up false teaching. It won't stand.

When people go by legalistic requirements it gives them a sense of self sufficient control. This leads to the fruit of pride. We can do nothing apart from God, but "I can do all things through him who strengthens me". It's not about us, it's about Him.

I believe that some people still filled attractive to legalistic performances simply because they find the message of salvation maybe too simple. They want to add effort to salvation so that they can claim their portion of the work. The work has already been accomplish by Christ and therefore no needs for any works. The performance of legalistic requirements produces fear and total commitment to the gift of God which is salvation. The true gospel is about faith and not works. The bible says ' as many as believed in Him, He gave the power to become....'.

I believe the performance of legalistic requirements is attractive to people because some people like to have goals and measure their performance. They are under the impression that works can lead them into God's favor. Instead of being led by the Spirit into doing good works as a fruit of the spirit, they start out with a to do list of works that may be good but they are working under their own power and not being led by the Spirit. No matter how much good we do, if it is not Spirit led, it is only us trying to achieve accolades.

I don't believe that following legalistic requirements really produces fruit in a person's life. It leads to the impression that we can achieve goodness under our own power.

The gospel emphasizes that goodness comes from God and that the Spirit within believers will produce these fruits as we are led by the Spirit. If we are Spirit-led, we will produce the fruits of good works.

When they follow the Jewish law they are working on the outward apparences and sometimes is eaiser to do then to work on the inward spiritual part of their life. It does not produce any fruit. I call it a do's and don't religion, do this and don't do that. If you are following the true gospel it will produce fruit in your life. If you let the Holy Spirit lead you then he will convict you of what you should be doing and you will have peace in whatever way the Spirit is leading you.

The true gospel of Christ is to unite in the same belief, which this emphasis, on the contrary, divides and brings separation, which is the work of the enemy.

The performance of legalistic requirements is attractive to people because it makes them feel self righteous. There are no spiritual fruits to the legalistic requirements the only possible fruit it could produce is a self righteous spirit, a pride in self, a hautiness that they are closer to God than anyone that is truly following the Word of God. Only the Holy Spirit can produce the spiritual fruits. It is different from the true gospel because it is the opposite of the gospel.

It is attractive to people because it makes them feel they are obedient to God and show the people around them that they are pious and holy.People who do that are simply being taught the wrong doctrine.The bible said in Ephesian 2:5-8 "For by grace are you saved through faith,and not of yourselves.It is a gift of God.Not of works,lest any man should boast".Isaiah in 64:6 said "all our rightousness are like filthy rags".So being legalistic and following all the rituals and traditions does not make a person a person spiritual.One has to constantly read the bible to know God's will.
