I think they did not understand all Jesus had taught them. They were scared and hid from the roman soldiers. However, when they saw Jesus and they wounds on his hands and feet ,i think they understood by inspiration of the Holy Spirit what Jesus meant all along. The were filled with the Holy Spirit and went forth to teach and preach the gospel with vigour.

Q2. The Theft Theory
elaineer replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Convincing Proofs of Christ's Bodily Resurrection
The disciples could not have stolen the body because they hid away in a room, and when Mary Magdalene ran and told them she saw Jesus they ran to the tomb to see for themselves. No one acts in the manner they did after hearing the news if they hid the body. The tomb was closed and the Roman seal put on.Joseph of Arimathea donated his personal tomb. The bottom line is no stole the body Jesus Christ is the Risen Lord. -
Not sure why so many people focus on the resurrection instead of believing by faith. The bible is based on believing that God wrote it and to trust it. I think to much time spent on trying to discredit the bible.I personally think scholars are so busy digging up things to discredit the truth that they are blinded.

The difference between the resurrection and ascension is that in the resurrection Jesus had risen from the dead.In the ascension he was taken up to heaven to sit at the right hand of his father. The resurrection is the risen body of Christ, the ascension of him returning home and take up his rightful seat next to the father,.

I think the differences between the gospels were the amount of women that were at the tomb. John only mentioned Mary Magdalene. There will always be different views at an incident. We all see and interpret incidents differently. At a car accident many witnesses will have very different interpretations.

Q1. Job's Vision of Resurrection
elaineer replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. The Promise of Resurrection from the Dead
The Jews did not believe the dead would raise again. They believed when you die you go to Sheol. Job belived firmly in spite of what he was enduring that he would be raised up again. Progressive revelation is that more will be revealed to us as we go deeper into God's word. -
Q6. It Is Finished (John 19:30)

Jesus fulfilled what his Father set out for his life. What an honour that He did this for us,bearing us in mind all the time. We need to obey his teachings. -
Q5. I Thirst (John 19:28)
elaineer replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in Seven Last Words of Christ from the Cross
Jesus was human when he was put on the cross. He was fulfilling prophecy. We forget that Jesus was flesh same as us. We should go on our knees and thank Him for the sacrifice he took upon himself for our sins. -
Mary was a widow, and Jesus also knew that life after his death would not be easy for mary,as she would we known as a crimanal's mother.John was the disciple he loved, and he knew he could trust John to look after his mother.Jesus's other family did not believe in him and he knew that they would not care for Mary as they should. Jesus is a compassionate loving God. we must love and respect our parents irrespective of our up bringing.

This man probably heard about Jesus, but he was not a follower .When the disciples fled in Jesus's darkest hour this man displayed the faith that Jesus had been teaching all along. The thief entered heaven with Jesus. Because God is Holy he cannot look on sin,so He could not look at his son on the cross. I am sure in God's magnificence he provided someone on the cross who was a companion to Jesus.
