  1. Looking back at the past. She was trying to still hold on something that was leaving. Sometimes we can get caught up in old things. Things that need to come to an end. God wanted these things out of her heart. You can know something is wrong but still want to hang on to it because certain things were pleasurable to the person and it is what the person is use to. God is continuously shaping and molding me to become more Christ like. In changing there are somethings I had to let go of to to keep moving forward. The lessons that we need to understand is we have to let some things go. Our old lifestyle and anything else that Jesus tells us that needs to go. If we try to keep our life then that's not drawing us closer to Jesus. We have to be able to let go of things for Jesus. Don't turn back to the past or turn back to what you need to let go of. Just move forward.
  2. Maybe it was because they still felt ties in their heart toward the place. Sometimes it can be hard for a person to let certain things go when they are so used to it. Sometimes people get used to certain things and it becomes familiar even if it is not all the way right with what's going on around them but it's familiar to them. Sometimes people would still rather put up with what they already know then walk into the unknown. But what they don't realize that sometimes walking into the unknown is much better then what is familiar and wrong. I am not sure if I have hesitated when fleeing a danger. I hope and stand in faith that I would have the courage to flee if God told me to flee something without hesitation. The lesson for us is that when God asks us to do something it is for our own good. If we do not obey him then it can mean some bad consequences. It could me delays for us. It could mean losses for us. It's just best to do as The Lord says.
  3. The balance can be kept. It is very possible to be loving and compassionate to a homosexual and still go by what the bible says. Some people have been very mean to homosexuals they have not handled it the way God wanted it handled. We must understand from a biblical standpoint that homosexuality is viewed just like a heterosexual person who is going on sleeping with many partners. God is not pleased with neither but he loves people. All People regardless of what they are doing wrong. But also at the same time God delights in Truth. You cannot approach everyone in the same way. We must partner with The Holy Spirit to see how a person is suppose to be approached concerning this subject with God's truth. No the church should not be silent about the issue. We are also Not suppose to be hateful and mean no matter how much a person may not like what they are doing. People need to say the Truth in love and as The Holy Spirit directs them on how to say the Truth. The truth is to be said wherever God leads the person to say it. Not as the person leads themselves, but as The Holy Spirit leads them.
  4. Well there are different things with keeping the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. One thing is staying away from ungodly television that can corrupt the mind and the heart. Keeping away from ungodly people who would not make good friends. Keeping our friendships healthy. Spending time with The Lord and being a God pleaser not a man pleaser. This world pushes more and more to ungodliness which makes it not always easy for a person with the influences. The influences and the constant pushing in certain directions can make doing right even more difficult for some. Television is full of ungodliness. Everywhere you go out in the world it is present and some places more than others. But we must remain strong and faithful in the Lord regardless and stay committed to him. We must stand for truth in the midst of confusion.
  5. Fathers and husbands are called to be leaders and one of the best way is for the Fathers and Husbands is to have a deep understanding of what it means to lead in a Godly way. To be able to lead their family in a Godly way without being harsh and mean. This comes from spending time with God and in the scriptures and any other training that God leads the man to do. Mother and Wives have to understand the roles the husband has as the leader biblically but also understand they have a right to express and help the husband to understand in a godly way their needs and opinions about things going on within the house hold and the family. But, also respecting your husband and his leadership role. If there is an issue where the husband does not respect the woman's opinion as he should when it is a biblical truth then she needs to bring that to God in prayer on how this needs to be approached. I am talking about the husband making decisions that are not wise or biblical decisions. God wants us to respect each other in marriage and even in parent and child relationships. But he wants me to honor his word and be respectful to my husband. With Different personalities in marriages it's best to do things the biblical way and bring things to the Lord. The Holy Spirit will give you the right way and wisdom on how things should be handled and he will make the necessary changes in each of us as necessary.
  6. I believe a person can really tell by their actions and what comes out of our mouth about God's faithfulness and love toward us. If a person is truly believing that God still heals today then you will see this respond when they are sick or when others around them are in need of healing. Even if that is not the situation, a person would still say that God heals today even if no one is sick. Jesus Christ is the same today as he was yesterday. Just like Jesus was doing miracles back then, people are still being healed and delivered today out of sickness and disease. Yes there are many examples that I know about from others and in my own personal life that God is still the Healer and The Miracle Worker. Plus like I said earlier Jesus is the same today as he was yesterday. God does not change. He still wants to see his people whole and delivered. We can regain faith by studying what God's word have to say about miracles. Studying Jesus ministry. By asking God to lead us into Truth concerning his will today in this area because God delights in Truth. He wants his children to operate in truth in order to be blessings to others
  7. There is no need anymore for an outward sign. Literal circumcision is unecessary. Baptism is the sign now. We need to be circumcised spiritually. We have the better covenant because of Jesus and it is so wonderful. Our hearts have been cleansed. We are spiritually cleaned. We have the Holy Spirit living in us. God in us forevermore. This is a wonderful feeling. I'm glad to have been born in the New Covenant. Thank You Jesus!
  8. To have your heart cleansed and purified before the Lord. We cannot truly serve The Lord in the right way if our hearts are not cleaned. This applies to both the Jew and Gentiles. Out hearts needs cleansing. We need to baptized. It is best for us not to focus on outward things. Yes we should look decent and do certain things. ( I have to admit I like to look nice all the time lol!) but sometimes people put to much emphasis on outward appearance and not looking at the heart of a person. There are certain things that is unecessary to get wrap up in. Then you have people who put emphasis on they have to attend church on a certain day every week and then they end up not being truly saved. Not trusting in Jesus for salvation. It amazes me someone can do this but I have witness this myself. Yes we should go to church in person or online but going to church does not save you neither does looking nice etc... Only putting your trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior will do it. We need to give him our whole hearts. He is worthy of it.
  9. No God is not requiring moral perfection. He is wanting Abraham's whole heart. Walk with God with his whole heart and not wavering. Under the new covenant God also requires us to walk wholeheartdely with him. We actually have more revelation then the people in the old covenant had when they were alive because we have Jesus that came into the flesh and died for us and rose from the dead. We are now children of God so what more to expect out of us living in the new covenant. Abraham showed a great amount of faith in God for living in the old covenant and is a good example of what it means in trusting God in all circumstances.
  10. That God is with me and will help me get through the rough patches as I remain faithful to him and his promises. Right now I am trying to follow God and to seek out his perfect plan for my life. In other words Im trying to submit to what God is leading me to.
  11. Because God sees Hagar and her situation and cares about her and her baby. For a person who is losing hope or discouraged they can look at the situation with Hagar and see how God cared about Hagar. A person can remember that God sees them in their struggle and cares. What it means for me personally is that God loves and cares about me in any situation that I am going through and I am never alone. God is my deliverer and he will deliver me as always.
  12. I believe Sarah blames Abraham because he is the one that has sexual relations with Hagar though she didn't have a problem with it at first but still she is going to look at her husband. Which some other women would have probably done the same thing. Sarah was jealous because she hasn't produce an offspring. Jealously can make you not see things as clearly. I believe Sarah is trying to get rid of them both out of anger. Not trying to kill them, but doesn't want them around and angry at them. It is Abraham's fault concerning Hagar because it should have never happened anyway. They should have waited on The Lord. I don't have a situation that I can think of right now.
  13. Yes I have been frustrated. Sometimes when we want something we want it right now. Some things we do get immediately and there are other things that takes a period of time. It may be a week, month, year or even longer. So we have to stand in faith that God will do what he said he will do no matter how long it's been taking. Sometimes delays happen because it is not time for something to happen. God has a certain date. Sometimes there are other things God might be trying to get a person to see. Sometimes he is trying to deal with a person's character and wanting that to change before he gives something in specific to them. Sometimes if there are other people involved in the promise he may be wanting them to change their character. Their character needs to get to a certain place to. When those changes finally happen then it will be time for the fulfillment of those promises.
  14. Abraham was justified by his faith not by works. Living right is important but trying to do everything right will not justify a person before God. We are justified by faith in Jesus not by the law. No amount of works will qualify for justification before God. We study the law to help us better understand God's holy standards but not to stand before God and try to justify ourselves by it.
  15. God is my shield and my source of protection against any warfare or problems I might be going through. He is who I depend on to protect me and guide me. It means alot to me about the great reward not just in this life but in the life to come. So much more to look forward to in the life to come. It means alot for God to be my Sovereign. I know God will keep the promises that he gave to me.
  16. Abraham does not want to associate himself with a sinful king. It tells alot about Abraham's character. That Abraham doesn't like to associate himself with wickedness and he wants to be known as a man that honors God. The lesson for us to learn is to not associate with wickedness. In some situations we might not have a choice temporarily but once you have the opportunity break away from that. Always seek to associate ourselves with those who are Godly and The Holy Spirit leads us to. Sometimes God places people around ungodly people to be a light in their situation but it doesn't mean to start hanging out with them and partake in their wicked ways. Keep the right communication and contacts because being around ungodliness when unnecessary can open up the door to all types of evil.
  17. Melchizedek is a priest and representative of God so it is an honor of worship. Tithing today represents the same type of worship. We should tithe because it puts God first place in our financial area. It's shows we trust him with our finances. We trust him to provide for us and that we will have more than enough because God is the provider. It is always a blessing to give and to have more than enough. God wants us to place his kingdom first in our lives and then we have other things. But giving must come from the heart not just doing some religious ritual with no benefit to the heart. Someone else might be benefiting from the money but the person giving is not if not done with right motives.
  18. Yes in a way it does reflect God's blessing on his life. But material wealth does not necessary always mean God's blessing on a person's life. Sometimes people get wealth in the wrong way. Sometimes wealth can change people. Physical poverty does not always reflect a curse on a person's life. I know how it feels in the past to have less and not be at the place I want to be. But I would much rather have more than enough so I can be a blessing to others. That's why God wants us to be blessed with not only enough to pay our tithes and bills but money left over to be lead to give to others as The Holy Spirit leads. It's ok to treat yourself sometimes but not over endulge in things which can happen sometimes to people, even children of God.
  19. Well Abraham and Sarah look more to the human side of doing things then towards God. Which we all have been guilty of before. But sometimes when we ask God for advice or what to do in a particular situation sometimes we have to be patient for the answer instead of just choosing solution that seems fitting due to circumstances. It's possible that they didn't have the strong enough faith yet to trust God fully so he just did what he thought to do what was right. It doesn't make it right but still. The lessons we can learn from this is it's best to tell the truth and wait for the perfect answer from God so the best outcome will happen in the right way. Not doing things in the right way can result in more confusion and problems.
  20. God does not like adultery. He has talk about this in his word. He wants faithfulness in a marriage. If a couple is having issues, God wants them to work those issues out by depending on him to help get things right. No matter what's going on he does not condone adultery. God can and does forgive a person who has committed adultery. God is a merciful and forgiving God. If a person is truly seeking him for forgiveness he will forgive. But, it doesn't mean that their marriage will remain it depends on how the other person feels. But sometimes the other party will forgive and want it to work. It's just best not to get involved with adultery but God still forgives even if a person makes a mistake.
  21. Pharaoh was being punished for taking another man's wife which was Abraham's wife. The affliction had the desired effect because Pharaoh realize he was being punished for taking Sarah. God was wanting Pharaoh to see the error in his ways.
  22. Abraham realizes his need for the one true God. While others were serving false gods Abraham called on the one true God. This is very significant because he trusted in the one true God it became a blessing to us all. What it means for me to call on the Lord is that I recognize my need for a savior, and helper. There is no way I can do things all in my own. I depend on Jesus for wholeness in my body, finances being in order and also spiritually. I recognize that none of my good works could save me only the precious blood of Jesus could. Only Jesus sacrifice could.
  23. God is a faith God. Without faith it is Impossible to please him. If you don't keep your faith in God the promises will not get accomplish. We live in our flesh bodies and sometimes we can allow our flesh or circumstances to dominate or try to dominate us which can hinder faith. Sometimes things can seem so unbelievable you will need special faith in order to believe God will accomplish that in your life. But God specializes in the unbelievable and the impossible. So it's a good idea to study his word on the subject faith and meditate on the scriptures that talk about faith to increase our faith more and more. Yes I have had opportunities to use special faith when laying hands on others and praying for others. I had to have faith before I even see the physical outcome. My husband had an issue with his arm and was getting ready to go to the hospital the next day because his arm started to feel worse after a couple of weeks. And it was very painful. I told him to let me pray over him for the issue and believe for it to go. He went to the bed that night feeling the same. He woke up the next day totally heal, no pain and no more crackling in his bones. God is Awesome! Just only one of the things I have experienced with God's goodness in this way. What's awesome is it's not just for one person we can all experience God's goodness in that way. Praise the Lord for his goodness. Yes I am still in the midst of this adventure and God has been training me in different ways.
  24. Abraham was blessed with Issac. The promised that God had given to him concerning a son. God blessed Abraham to be wealthy and to have many descendants. Through Abraham his descendant Jesus came to save the world and brought salvation to us all. Abraham help started this. His faith in God help open up the door for us all and I have become a spiritual descendant so when I'm blessing someone it goes back to Jesus first. Because it's Jesus working in me but it also goes back to Abraham by his faith open up the door for me to be a blessing to others through Jesus.
  25. That varies I have seen some people seen more interested in Relatives and some more interested in being with Jesus. Some seem interested in both. Jesus kingdom will never end. He will reign forever and ever. There will never be an ending to his kingdom. What has happened here on this earth will never happen again. Jesus is my king and ruler in my life. So since he is king that means I have to submit to what he says and what I should do. Jesus always have the victory and is faithful. It is good to have a king that will always win and have the victory in things he says will come to pass. Since Jesus is the King now and forever and he has the victory, that also means I have the victory to. What a faithful and Victorious King Jesus is. Awesome!
