  1. Pray in secret so you have the audience of One and no distractions. You have to impress no-one. Jesus hears the faintest cry. We need intimacy with Jesus. Time spent alone with Jesus will be rewarded. When The Holy Spirit is moving amongst us, we should pray silently. Simple, distinguishable, sincere words are all that's needed because Jesus knows what we need before we ask and what is in the heart.
  2. If you give to the poor and less fortunate without announcing it to others, God sees and gives rewards, sometimes immediately, so long as it is done in love. Sometimes the "poor" are not really poor. They are just looking for a handout. If anyone truly is in need I would give. Not only monetarily but with whatever I could spare. I would rather go without a meal than to see someone that is really poor and not able to provide for themselves. Again, I think this goes back to choice.Do I really want to work?? earn it or have someone just hand it to me.. I hope this doesn't sound judgmental because I am not the Judge. Priorities sometimes need to be changed.
  3. We should be doing everything as unto God. He is our audience, not man. Let all we do and say be pleasing to God. Chief sin is pride- so give willingly with love in your heart. So & so gave X amount and challenge you to give same or above. Selling raffle tickets to gain something, which is gambling and a sin. They sometimes sugar coat the outcome.
  4. Jesus is /was perfect in every way. Strive to be like Christ and do as He would do. Show love to our enemies. Let God be God and try not to pass judgement on others. Show the love and mercy that Christ would. Christ loves us all equally. He does not love one more than the other.
  5. We are to love our neighbors but not to the extent that allows them to do evil against us and rob us of our love for God. God's Holiness, Purity, Will and Standards are not to be compromised in our love for all people. Just show Christian love to all. If someone breaks into the house, hurts or maims a loved one, then I think Christian love goes out the window. We are defending what God has given us and to our families.
  6. Love your neighbor as yourself and be an example of Christlike behavior.
  7. They are showing LOVE to the enemy. There would be no reason for hatred and doing evil if love was shown all the time. These were only case examples to show us how to handle certain things if they should arise. Mainly to show love in all situations.
  8. It was designed so no man would be vindictive enough to do worse than what was done to him. Punishment to fit the crime, administered by a formal court. It is/was to govern personal revenge, governed by a court of law.
  9. We do not have to swear an oath to be believed. When we say yes-- mean it and do as you agree to -- likewise if we say no-- don't do it. Mean what you say and say what you mean.. Our speaking would be plainly understood and we would be accountable to our words. Then people could depend on what we say and do.
  10. Though committing adultery at the time, remarrying another person offsets that adultery. God will forgive and bless . God's will is for love to abound--- not divorce, hatred, conflicts, abuse, and all the other things that cause divorce. If people can not live together in love and harmony---ask God's forgiveness and separate. Then wait for God to give reconciliation either to spouse or another in marriage, after divorce.
  11. I think they understood it and reacted that way because they were so use to having more than one woman. There was no escape hatch, so rather than sin --- just don't marry.
  12. Moses commanded a man to give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away with financial help and allowance to remarry. In the beginning, a man & woman were joined together, as one flesh in the eyes of God FOREVER. The only reason for divorce was unfaithfulness not because you are tired of one another or decide you don't want to be married any longer. Marriage is a life time commitment. I might add right here that comes May 2008- I have been married to the same man for 45 years. Not all those years were a bed of roses but God's Grace and Mercy and a lot of give and take on both our parts, we have persevered. Our love is stronger today than years ago. Total commitment is what it is all about to each other and to God.
  13. Whether or not they are Christians, God said when a man and woman are joined together in wedlock , they become one flesh, this is by natural law. All are joined by God because they are no longer two but one flesh, so that would be 100%.
  14. RABBI SHAMMAI, as he believed only unchastity for divorce. The only exception is marital unfaithfulness. The result of human sin is divorce. Adultery back then carried the penalty of death, not divorce. Based on Biblical grounds, it is not a sin. Even God divorced Israel because of unfaithfulness and spiritual adultery.
  15. According to Jesus it was serious enough to talk about gouging out the eye or cutting off the hand when evil was done. Male & females are both responsible for their actions. Purity was a life style in Jesus' time, today it means nothing. We are to look on each other as brothers and sisters with love. Agape Love....God's Love.
  16. First, I would explain that it is a sickness. An addiction that needs to be eradicated. It can be just as destructive as any addiction, only this is a spiritual one that needs God's Grace to overcome. Every time the desire comes, get the Bible and read it and pray for release of these strongholds. Seek professional help through Pastor or Counselor. Internet: filter out the junk. T.V.: Have the willpower to turn off the set or change the channel. God gave us all freedom to choose. Beach/ Poolside: Train your eyes to look elsewhere. Pray that God will not let you to see the junk. Look in another direction or leave.
  17. It perverts the mind and takes away from God's natural intent for sexual desires. Prostitutes are immorally perverted individuals looking to make quick money to fulfill a man's lustful desire. This is not God's intention for sexual fulfillment. And, we are all victims of this degrading society. It is adultery in the eyes of God because it is outside the boundaries of marriage.
  18. **** is fantasizing over another's body, while good natural desires is wanting to please your spouse. And this only inside the marriage between a male & female.
  19. It is the thought process of sexual acts. Adultery is doing the act and **** is thinking about it and fantasizing about it. **** is just as sinful because it comes from the heart. Women need to dress and act modestly so men are not attracted to their bodies thus encouraging lustful desires. Body language is just as bad as revealing oneself too much. **** is coveting another's body, which is spiritual adultery of the heart.
  20. Doing the will of the Father. To love one another and to love your neighbor as yourself. Obeying & keeping the laws and doing the right thing. Repent-Forgive- Love
  21. To avoid harsh penalty we need to settle with our adversary. We settle with those whom we have wronged us. It is more costly to go to court whereas if a schedule of payment is made and adhered to, can save costly penalties and harsh judgments. That is why we have Civil & Moral Laws, to keep us in tune with the laws of the land.
  22. Forgive to be forgiven. Repentance and love are the main concern. It is a mockery if we don't repent. No true worship can come from the heart if you have ought against someone. Go to that person an ask forgiveness then resume worship. We may not be able to change some but so long as we have done our part by humbling ourselves, God will do the rest. We are to repent, forgive and love. We only can do what God convicts us to do. He will change the world.
  23. Words Kill... Calling someone a fool and murder come from the same "root". ANGER. While murder is a physical action, an angry insult is just as bad because it attacks ones spirit and can cause life altering attitudes. We hurt one's spirit by insulting them in any way. Our spirit man belongs to God so we would be cursing God by insulting anyone for anything.
  24. By only preaching on only N.T. times. By ignoring the Ten Commandments and not emphasizing how important they are. We need to help people to understand the full depth & meaning of the Laws and how to fulfill them.Adhering to Old Traditions of ancestors was legalism and only these things were done, while living differently than the commands. Without fulfillment of the laws there is no atonement for sin. With no moral standards there is no unity and chaos is prevalent. Pure disrespect for God and the Law.
  25. Everyone who wants to live a Godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. When we suffer & endure persecution because of righteousness we will receive the promise of the kingdom & heavenly rewards. God gets no glory if we hide what we know. We suffer to give God the glory. Yes, Jesus' suffering was necessary to fulfill the Word of God. ( Prophesy). Ours is necessary to receive the blessings of God as He has already gone through all we will ever go through. We need to be more like Jesus rather than like the world so we can discern what God's will is for our lives.
