  1. sin He removes the filthy and replaces it with robes of righteousness. God has provided the way if he chooses to repent. God can and does restore--only if we truly repent and turn from our sins.
  2. To acknowledge He is the Lord, The Almighty, The Holy One. Trust and allow God to fight for you. Judgment is coming! Have Thine own way, Lord; Have Thine own way!
  3. Repentance is at the heart of the gospel. If we don't turn from sin--we will still be a slave to sin. We have a love gospel that means nothing; no recognizing sin for what it is. Holiness, growth in Him, Holy Spirit's power in us.
  4. It gave him the authority and encouragement to complete the work. The power is in God--it is just authority for the one who bears it. Listening to God's Spirit makes me more effective as His agent because I am ultimately doing His will. We're authorized as believers to be His agent by what is written in the Bible.....go to the entire world & share the gospel, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always to the very end of the age. Matt. 28:16-20
  5. Words we speak, thoughtless of others, lying, bad attitudes, not giving, some sin that we think we can't give up. We're still the defiled person and until we confess & repent of these errors, God may or may not bless our work in the church. We are then double-minded and not honest. Confess & repent--1 John 1:9.
  6. Be strong. I am with you. Be strong, courageous, and keep your eyes on Me. Obey--get busy & obey!!
  7. To wake us up, realize there is a reason for those hardships and circumstances. It may be discipline, but it also could be to grow us more. Not really experiencing real hardship right now. I need to be ready to obey when it does come & let Him have his way in me.
  8. When I fail to complete a project that would bring Him glory. My wrong priorities. When I take pleasure in Him. Wrong choices, having no "stick to it" ness, letting small setbacks slow me down or even stop me. Bring joy back into our relationship.
  9. Repentance from sinful behavior, separation from godless activities to God wholly. Prepare with prayer and worship prior to taking the Lord's supper. Make sure your accounts with Him are cleared. Prepare with prayer, Bible Study and worship. Ask Him to direct your day for His glory!
  10. We give up so easily because we are relying on our own strength & wisdom. That disciple puts the problems into God's hands and listens for His answer, trusting God fully.
  11. The danger lies in God's plans given to them to construct the temple might not be followed or be changed. They would not respect the Torah probably. God says not to have unequal yoke---working with those not committed to God. Let them in a little and they'll overpower soon. No changes to what God ordained, please. Plus the teaching and worship would not be wholeheartedly to God. There are places we can write our own prayers, poems, songs, but be true to the Lord with every word.
  12. My worship is not where it should be. I need to be spending more time with the Lord, especially in prayer, acknowledging Him in every area of my life.
  13. They were the ones God called. Not sure if it was those who answered God's call--assuming He called all of them..... The ones who returned were obviously committed. The others didn't carry that burden.... Sometimes out of fear, talked themselves out of it, comfortable where they were.... True disciples hear God's voice & seek to obey Him and share Him with others. He is their priority.
  14. We may suffer (for Him) but He will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. I need not fear if struggles come--they will--but He has restoration power! I could be restored by being taken Home! He knows best! My trust in Him is growing with aging. Praise God for His Power!
  15. Be self-controlled, alert, resist the devil and flee from him, stand firm in the faith, know there will be sufferings. Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, put on full armor of God to stand against the devil's schemes, stand firm, armor--truth, righteousness, readiness to take the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, the Word. stand firm/stand your ground
  16. One must be aware of one's enemy. He prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. We must be aware of putting on the whole armor of God daily--so we can stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Eph 6:12
  17. Cast my anxiety on Him. Because He cares for me. Pray the Word! Pray the Word daily or hourly if needed.....
  18. Be humble and submissive to each other & to God. They need to be tested in many ways before taking a position. Considering them and each member of their family are important too. The church may be destroyed in the long run or lose their witness in your community.
  19. Leaders need to be accountable to each other and to the church itself. Same. Our pastor is considered an elder at our church. He is humble and accountable as well. Yes, they need to be a mature Christian and spend time being tested before taking over his responsibilities. They need to be paid a suitable amount. It takes much time & prayer in making those decisions. We as a body need to be in prayer as well for our elders--that they would have wisdom and discernment in making decisions. Seek the Lord & His face!
  20. If you have to twist someone's arm to serve, then the church is not being led by God neither is the one whose arm is being twisted. The church could eventually be destroyed by leaders chosen by men rather than by God's leading. The leaders produced will not be fruitful and probably would hinder those acting in God's will.
  21. Their responsibilities are very important to the health and safety of the church. They are guardians & overseers. The pastor and his name are most associated to the church. That is no small responsibility.
  22. it should be our joy to serve Christ even to death if need be. not willing to die--lack of joy in the Lord and lack of obedience to His Word. we need to be fully committed to God. Not everything is easy to obey, but when you do, you find He is enough--just what you need. He wouldn't ask us to do something He had not prepared us to do......
  23. Satan doesn't worry if you are not really committed to God. You'll lead a fairly comfy life. We need to be glad to go thru persecution--it means God is accomplishing the making of fruit through you and Satan doesn't like it.! Unbelievers who are watching or meting out the persecution are putting themselves in a position to see God at work for them.
  24. It is joy to give all for Christ. Sharing in Christ's suffering & pain is an honor. God will provide all we need to go through suffering/persecution. Death is not as important as your witness. It speaks loudly to those around you at the time.
  25. The danger of disobedience, not trusting God to take care of you and provide for you, the danger of missed opportunities to share. I think we all miss opportunities to see God at work!! Sure, others have had the same problems. Like I said in an earlier study--I see & hear reports of persons unafraid of persecution--even death--letting God lead them and miracles happen.
