Rich and poor alike can show greed--either by stealing what belongs to someone else or stealing from God--not giving to Him. We want "things" and we work more & more to try to get them and for their upkeep and not giving to the Lord. I think America is a greedy nation. "Things"-- having more & more are putting America into the bondage of greed. Even America's poor think they are "owed" free money--that they deserve it and often lie to get more & more benefits. The only way out are changed hearts--God is in the business of changing hearts.

The one who sins actually entices other weak ones to sin too. A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. It has to be dealt with drastically. AS far as I know they have taken steps biblically, to deal with the sinner. By following the steps laid down in the Bible. It is a good thing. We are still all sinners. What one does reflects the rest. We need to ask forgiveness for our nation--how they have sinned...Some of us sinned by voting the way we did......pray for our churches, denominations & include ourselves in asking for forgiveness & help us to repent!!

Q4. Devoted to the Lord
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. The Walls Fall Down (Joshua 5:13-6:27)
God ordered it because they refused to worship God. I am His because He purchased me--at a very high price. Deny self. Not slaves to sin anymore. My body belongs to Him and is the temple of the Holy Spirit. -
Q3. Walls Fall
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. The Walls Fall Down (Joshua 5:13-6:27)
Marching with God's covenant and His promises--while obeying Him to the letter...7th day--day of rest--God does the work! He could have used an earthquake. He only needs to say it and it's done. -
Q2. God Is with You
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. The Walls Fall Down (Joshua 5:13-6:27)

Q1. Unknown Warrior
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. The Walls Fall Down (Joshua 5:13-6:27)
Are you for us or our enemies? God Himself. Neither side. God's side. Because He is holy. We have trouble not being in control.... -
Q5. Manna Ceases
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Entering the Promised Land (Joshua 3:1-5:12)
The need for it ceased. He knows our needs. Sometimes we are just very needy. Same as above...it was time to walk out in faith. Planting, most definitely. -
Q4. Monuments
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Entering the Promised Land (Joshua 3:1-5:12)
Each of the twelve tribes took part in this remembrance. God wanted them to remember what He had done for them. See and remember. Often they are made to be idols--to be worshipped instead of God. Not that I can see.... -
Q3. Jordan Stops Flowing
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Entering the Promised Land (Joshua 3:1-5:12)
He received it from God. He announced it and it happened. No one would question his leadership at that point. They knew he was being led by the Lord. -
Q2. Consecration
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Entering the Promised Land (Joshua 3:1-5:12)
They were to consecrate themselves to the Lord only. Cleansing of body refreshes. They needed to go in the power of the Lord and be single-minded. Put more time into praying and fasting., -
Q1. Making Ready
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Entering the Promised Land (Joshua 3:1-5:12)
They had become too settled. They needed to get back into position to attack & take cities for the Lord. I think we must reevaluate our lives and what we do daily to see if we're putting God first in everything. Get rid of things that rob us of our time with/for the Lord. -
God honored her act to keep the spies safe. He did not honor her lie. He saw her heart. Perhaps during war times it is ok or if it is against God's Word.
-
Because God called her out of harlotry into righteousness because of her faith. Prostitution is a sin. God loves sinners. Jesus was kind--& offered them so much more for their faith in Him. Hates sin. Loves the sinners to repentance.

Q2. Rahab's Faith
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Rahab Hides the Spies (Joshua 2)
She had heard about the exploits of the Israelites and how God had saved them in many ways I think she believed all that was said about Him and desired Him above any other gods. She had a very deep faith. She acted on that faith when she invited the spies in and hid them. She also believed the spies when they told her how they would save her & her family. That same belief (trust) is there for salvation. -
Q1. Rahab's House
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Rahab Hides the Spies (Joshua 2)
They were sent to see the roads, topography, weaknesses of the city/people. They wanted to be in a very public place--I believe God sent them there--He knew Rahab's heart. -
Q4. Meditate
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Be Strong and Very Courageous (Joshua 1)
Think on part of the scripture--chew on it like a cow her cud. Let your heart absorb it. Eastern meditation is emptying our minds--to nothingness (or open to satan & his demons) The Holy Spirit gives us understanding. -
Q3. Fear vs. Courage
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Be Strong and Very Courageous (Joshua 1)
The responsibilities would be overwhelming. His weakness was covered by God's strength. Faith is trust. Fear is not trusting. Yes the fear may still be there, but the motivator is the trust (faith) in the Lord. -
Q2. God's Promise
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Be Strong and Very Courageous (Joshua 1)
It is a fearsome responsibility to move and direct a huge group of families--complaining families. As we age, we find bodies falling apart and it can be scary.. If God is with me---NO Limitations! -
Q1. Active Faith
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Be Strong and Very Courageous (Joshua 1)
He had to walk to claim. God opens doors, He expects us to walk through them. We're blessed if we really study God's Word. I want to continue with fervor. -
It falsely promises wealth and completely leaves God's will out of it. God uses all the other times in our lives to teach us & help us grow. Most times we are not wealthy, but rich in blessings. It caters to our pride, greed and idolatry. Contentment with what we have--thanking God for all He has provided for us!!

Q4. Mind Control and Peace
charisbarak replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #8. Rejoice in the Lord Always (Philippians 4:1-9)
Mind control is a discipline. Otherwise, our feelings would gallop right over us. It is not only useful in gaining mental & spiritual peace. If Euodia & Syn. would have checked to see if what they were thinking or saying about each other was part of that list--it would change their attitudes, I think. I like to focus on the Word, knowing God is in control & submitting to Him, and checking out from that list to see if my thoughts measure up!
