  1. The mindset of a priest towards God is fear, respect, intercession for the people, giving God sacrifices for the people too. To be praying for others, obeying God and looking to serve Him each day.
  2. They don't like it at all. And they will usually let you know it. God's love draws us to Himself. When we choose not to be drawn--we are judged already. The wages of sin is death. When we don't accept Christ's gift of salvation we are opting for judgment and eternal separation from God. It takes on as just love--kind of a jello, marshmallowy sticky icky kind of love with no value. This also happens when we leave out the fact we are sinners.
  3. Sometimes. Especially when I fail to resist temptation so often. That I am redeemed by the precious blood of Christ. A deep & true love--bringing value to my life. You should be able to tell a lot about a person by looking at his/her checkbook--or bank statement. I need to be out witnessing more & invest time in my relationships.
  4. To be holy is to be set apart from the unholy--dedicated to Jesus Christ. I have been saved and my life is not my own. Jesus' blood covers me. Holiness comes as we obey what God set down for us through Jesus. My struggle is with business--choosing hobbies that take away time to serve Him!
  5. To live holy lives knowing we will be judged by the deeds of our body. Hope--of a reward--seeing Jesus face to face eternal life! We live less holy lives and often are not prepared for His return.
  6. The basis is our faith & love for Him & our salvation. Human emotions cannot cause it--it can only be reflected in our faces. No, not emotional--however it can cause emotion. We are not pursuing happiness--we are pursuing a deeper relationship with our Saviour. You can see true joy when a person is joyful even in bad or trying circumstances.
  7. Yes, many times--too many to share now. God accomplished more growth in my life--a deeper relationship with Him. We end up with strengthened faith. We become more aware of God's power in our own life and gives us the boldness to share and live for Him.
  8. God's part--shields us by HIs power until He comes again. My part-Faith
  9. The fact that we are forgiven, opens the way for us to obey. We wouldn't expect an unsaved person to obey God. Good works were set out for us to do as a result of being saved----we are not saved by works. Salvation comes first. And as James wrote--faith without works is dead. Those works prove salvation & a changed life.
  10. A Christian who has lost touch with reality and probably not reading their Bible very often. I think so, but He drew me back rather quickly. We need to be in the Word daily, praying, spending time with brothers & sisters in Christ. Actually, we need to repent from wrong priorities.
  11. Choose this day whom you will serve. He affirmed that he & his family would serve the Lord. Continue to take my part in the sanctification process and daily choose to serve Him. "You may be older now--but you are still growing!!" Praise God! More Bible reading & study, prayer, sharing, to be open to God's leading each day.
  12. Jesus' example of associating with sinners was to love them, care for them and draw them to Himself. His real "buddies" were the disciples--ones who already related to Jesus and had decided to follow Him. Part of what we want to do is to have relationships with unbelievers to share with them about Jesus and so they can see a difference in our lives. Those we spend the most time with would be fellow Christians. Having no friendship with non-Christians takes away our chance to share with them and draw them to Jesus. They still need to hear the gospel and we've be commanded to share the gospel!!
  13. 1st commandment--love the Lord with all your heart, soul and strength. Competing gods causes us to not obey that commandment. They became divided--not serving God only. They began to compromise. Our gods can be anything that keeps us from loving the Lord wholeheartedly--anything that keeps us from serving & worshipping God. We need to seriously ask ourselves what is it that keeps us from time with God? Perhaps keeping us from the Bible???? Where & what are our priorities....
  14. Free from any sin-set apart to God alone. God made us holy by sending His Son Jesus to pay the price for our sins. Our lifestyles should reflect Jesus. We are in the process of sanctification and will continue until we die. Almost the whole of the New Testament shows us how to grow in sanctification--our character changing to be more like that of Jesus.
  15. We live in a "do it yourself" society. It is looked on as being weak if we don't. Some may be tempted to leave it all to God to do--but that is laziness & sin--He has commanded us to obey His requests of us. We know God has the power to accomplish whatever He puts His hand to--He wants us to do it and He will supply the power. But, He gets all the glory!! I desire to give God the glory--I still need to grow in obeying totally. My church desires to GO and responses vary as people vary. Hopefully, we are all growing to give the glory to God!
  16. She was a strong lady. She also had a good relationship with her father. She knew what she wanted (needed) and was not afraid to ask. The woman with issue of blood, Ruth's mo in law Naomi, Deborah Too many to name--most passed away
  17. His character seemed honorable and brave. He knew the person who could achieve winning the battle would be worthy to be her husband. It was the ultimate test. The Spirit of the Lord fell on him.
  18. He had believed God and was boasting on God--not on what Caleb had done, but what God had done. Emulated, of course! Boast on the Lord always! Because it had much history there--Abraham. Giving God the credit for what is done. Strong leaders are tempted by pride to get the attention for themselves.
  19. wholehearted--no doubt--complete trust that God is in control. the other spies came to their own conclusions and thought only the worst--forgetting that God's power was behind them. people look to their leaders to lead! If they lead with fear--they are followed with fear. God was angry because they had forgotten all He did for them--led with many miracles.
  20. We need to surrender to God each room in our house. Ask if Christ is welcome in each room. He helps us to repent and to totally surrender to God allowing the Holy Spirit to do His cleansing in our lives. We are changed to be more like Him!! Gives us more power to serve Him!!
  21. Compromising with sin in our lives instead of repenting & turning from it, may show we are not saved at all. If you love your sin more than God........ Leads others astray too, breaks the relationship between you & God. To end it--agree with God that it is sin & repent--turn from it to God.
  22. didn't want them to leave any to tempt them to evil. Clean out the whole leaven! Did not gain all the land syncretism in the next generation/corruption
  23. Night march, hailstones & sun stood still for more daylight fighting. They were prepared to fight. We see Israel obeying and God faithfully fighting for them as He said He would. Yes! By putting on our spiritual armor, know the weapons of our warfare & trust & follow Jesus..
  24. They lost the battle. Jesus was always in prayer. Prayer daily--sometimes hourly--reading the Word--sometimes getting wise counsel.
  25. Misusing His name as a cuss word or as an expression like "OMG--oh my God" Why don't we use Buddha instead? Why is only His name that way? By hearing others use it in everyday dealings. If someone comes to me & says "I swear it is true" I would tend not to believe him. It means we can't trust their yes or their no. We need to think before we make a promise---about anything. If I am God's child, what I do reflects on Him and could turn others away from following Him.
