  1. Misguided beliefs I was misguided and now realize the traps daily I could fall in.
  2. Personal courage is so very important. Without it we couldn't be a strong disciple by letting us go along with the crowd instead of standing up for my own beliefs I can't be a leader for God nor lead anyone else to become healthy. God is calling me to believe, trust, and obey by repenting and following the Word and becoming more like Jesus every way and everyday.
  3. It is the Bible in synposis all together in 1. It gives us why we believe. Jesus is the Son of God, he is alive, risen, rose from the dead, and reigns with God on the right hand. He is our Savior and takes all the my sins on him and best of all he WILL return.
  4. Imitation is important in new believers when it comes to being a follower and imitators of Christ.. Christ the head of the Church and is a great person to imitate. A Christ-like community needs to be accountable to each other and keep each other on the same path of imitation. Sunday School and worship are generally good opportunities to be around other imitators and to encourage each other. The character of the leader must encourage growth, honesty, and a willingness to be open to their failures and success so others may see a transparent, but strong leader to help and lead the new Christian. Without this community and accountability to most new Christians will fall by the wayside.
  5. If Jesus isn't a part of the Holy Spirit's working there is no ministry. The ministry can't be run on will power for willpower is no match for Christ's power. The miracles in Paul's evangelism is the pivotal events in the ministry-no miracles no ministry. Today there are many miracles happening, but they are discounted as human experiences. Non-believers.
  6. The mob causes disruption because it deny Caesar's decree and causes the Jews to be exiled from their home land.Paul continues preaching because he isn't going to allow anyone to stop him from preaching about Jesus. No if violent reactions were to stop us from preaching about Jesus then we would never tell anyone anything about Jesus.
  7. Sin creates a belief that we are in charge of our own life. As long as we remain in sin we buy into the fact that we are god and there is none other. This leaves no room for any other.
  8. Self deceit causes a circular effect where we start with inner lies and the evil one creates in us a stronghold which causes to believe that we are lower than dirt which causes us to to start a downhill struggle which we never get out of-we become entangled in something we get trapped in until we figure out and repent. Without confession there is no escape. We buy into this lie and it takes true repentance and God to break through this act by evil one.
  9. A truely broken heart is when you have gone way from God and gone past ever believing God could ever forgive me. A contrite heart is when everything you used as a crutch to explain why God has failed you becomes mute and you give up. The difference in wallowing in self pity and being truly sorry is at different ends of the spectum. To be contrite and truly repentant you must first know what you did, tell God about it totally, and no maniupliation drop your pride and ask God to forgive you, and realize it isn't within your power to do anything to accomplish this and only Jesus can. You accept God's forgiveness and your heart has been changed-become humble instead of proud and let God lead you
  10. I was sexually abused and turned to drugs and alcohol. I became very messed up and continued to compile multiple sins head over heals. I became so messed up I could no longer tell you my name much less anything else since I wasn't in my right mind. I felt as if I was dead inside and there wasn't a god. All of a sudden God came in and totally gave me a clean mind and a new heart, soul, and mind. To many that may not be much but to me it was something I had thought I had used up long ago until God............ Praise be to God!
  11. yes to look into my heart for my sins and repent, but not to continually look at the past because God has forgiven me so if I look back I am not trusting God. Yes I have sinned greatly and God has redeemed me beyond my wildest dreams.
  12. David becomes excited about the rebuilding of the temple even though he knew he wouldn't be building it. God told him due to his bloodshed his son the successor would build his temple. Even though Solomn wasn't to be the successor David choose Solomn to be the one. David's motivation was inspiring and should be enthusactially followed.
  13. God is angry at the people and gives David a choice which he chooses 3 days of the plague because he believes in God's mercy. The Davidinic Covenant is followed. David wouldn't bring an offering to God that he himself doesn't pay for. I would like for this to be on my epithat.
  14. Raised on High, annointed of the God of Jacob, the sweet psalmist of Israel: grace, close to God, humble, annointed depicting inner change refers to outward blessings-reflections of God's goodness. The main message is hope.
  15. It is basic and full of feelings. That others feel free to share their basic feelings with honesty. Lives, ruler of nations, vanquishes my enemies..............
  16. Joab had seen Sheba destroying David's kindom. Joab comes into David's kingdom causing havvoc while Sheba is travelling through all the tribal areas on his way, trying to gain support. He has no organization, so he is ineffective, but he does his best to turn people away from David to his own leadership. The negotiator for the city of Abel Beth Maacah turns out to be a "wise woman." This gives us some indication of how women were sometimes able to function at a high level within the culture of the time. She negotiates with Joab who wants only Sheba's head which was thrown over the wall to him and he left. I think David and Joab have a strong faith and friendship. I believe true friends do support each other and come to each others rescue when necessary, but don't need to be with them in their presents. all the time.
  17. Joab was ruthless and killed Absalom. David had failed as a father, but was a strong leader. David cried as a father remembering his failure which lead to the destruction of his son. David's mourning creates fear in David's people and Joab saved David's kingdom by killing his son so after a bousterious talk by Joab David unenthustatically goes out to his followers and they eventually elect him as their King.
  18. Shimei can't be reasoned with and won't be silenced and David doesn't want to put himself in the place of opposing God. Notice again David's trust in God's mercy David takes it with humility. He is in repentance; his arrogance is gone.:
  19. David received a message that his son and his army was coming to attack David and kill him. The city was filling with his enemies quickly and he knew his troops were no match to Absolum. The Ark remains in place since God isn't pleased with David at that moment. David's faith was being tested due to love for his son and his life, but he left in repentance remembering his son's birth where his son died due to his sin and he had told God he would do anything for God.
  20. The counsel that Ahithophel gave in those days was treated as if God himself had spoken. That was the reputation of Ahithophel’s counsel to David; it was the same with Absalom
  21. “We’ve got to run for our lives or none of us will escape Absalom! Hurry, he’s about to pull the city down around our ears and slaughter us all!”Go back to the city and say to Absalom, ‘I’m ready to be your servant, O King; I used to be your father’s servant, now I’m your servant.’ Do that and you’ll be able to confuse Ahithophel’s counsel for me. The priests Zadok and Abiathar are already there; whatever information you pick up in the palace, tell them. Their two sons—Zadok’s son Ahimaaz and Abiathar’s son Jonathan—are there with them—anything you pick up can be sent to me by them.” Fatilazation
  22. Dad and son fighting and hating him so much he was jealous of his position. Fighting begots fightening
  23. Absaom sent spies to go before him shouting Absalom is king in Hebron!’” Two hundred men went with Absalom from Jerusalem. But they had been called together knowing nothing of the plot and made the trip innocently. While Absalom was offering sacrifices, he managed also to involve Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s advisor, calling him away from his hometown of Giloh. The conspiracy grew powerful and Absalom’s supporters multiplied.
  24. To stop the fighting and to prevent his son's blood adding to the destruction, so that my son will not be destroyed. “Let my lord the king pardon me and my family, and let the king and his throne be without guilt.” The king replied, “If anyone says anything to you, bring them to me, and they will not bother you again.” She said, “Then let the king invoke the Lord his God to prevent the avenger of blood from adding to the destruction, so that my son will not be destroyed.”The possible reason is to decrease the anger.
