  1. Just because we listen to Bible teaching does not mean we are living a complete righteous life because that is only part of living a righteous life. There is more than just listening and reading. We as Christians have to also live and do what God requires of us. Self deception is doing and not hearing or hearing and not doing.
  2. The promise is if we are lacking in wisdom we keep asking God for help because he gives generously to all without reproach. We are to keep asking in faith not doubting because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and blown about.
  3. If we are in doubt we should keep asking God for help. Every trial we go through we are not alone. We continue to ask for help and when we find that we can go through trials and not faulter we become stronger in faith and gain more knowledge and wisdom.
  4. I feel that people blame God because since God can do anything they feel that evil things are from him and they don't realize or know about what all Satan the Devil can do. God does not tempt with evil nor anything else. God does not tempt people who are sinful. The desire to sin is already within them because we as humans were born into sin. They have chosen to do what is in their mind and heart but the Devil is the one who entices and encourages not only sinful people but all people. God has already made known what is required of us to please him and we as Christians have a choice of what we want to do whether it be right or wrong. God prefers us to do right.
  5. Trials in my life tested my strength and faith. Before my faith became stronger every trial that I endured made me become agnostic and since then trials have made me stronger and my faith renewed. Never have I let Satan control my beliefs and faith. Reason for my stroner faith and beliefs is because I let God completely into my heart, mind, and soul. I always related to Job wehn he was tested by Satan and he never betrayed God, he did start doubting but he never gave up. My changes have been enormous. I don't question what happens therefore I learned to accept, I pray and study daily and when I miss doing so because of circumstances beyond my control I feel down trotten but I know god knows that I am still with him.
  6. Hello, my name is Celia and I have been a student of this wonderful and blessed Bible Study since 2003. I live in the United States (Ohio). I have two wonderful and beautiful grandchildren. With this wonderful study my stength and faith has greatly been restored. There were many years that I had lost faith because of alot of physical, mental, and emotional trials and tribulations. I never stopped believing there was a God but stopped believing in the hope and faith. It was every time that I would pray for guidance and help with difficult and depressing, and painful situations and pain that my prayers were not answered and things just were getting worse for me. I still have the same problems and the health issues have gotten worse but I have come to accept and understand what is going on and I am ready and waiting for Jesus to come to end all suffering and every other sins that are here on this earth. May God Bless You All and I know I will enjoy this study as I have the other studies that Pastor Ralph has provided for us.
  7. Knew somewhat about Abraham's life but this study really brought everything out in the open for me regarding Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar. It also has made to realize that during all my trials and tribulations that I have never really lost my total faith in God and by this study, my faith, strength has been renewed. I would evaluate this study as wonderful and every inspirational. I can not think of anything that could be improved with this study. Thank you so very much.
  8. Abraham's reward will be much greater in heaven. His faith grew much stronger and he solely relied on God finally.
  9. Strength, resilience, and standing by and believeing in her husband. Doubt, jealousy, and self-righteousness. Did not believe God's promise about conceiving a child and even laughed.
  10. Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son for God to show him his obedience and faith. God sacrificed his only son in order that we could have everlasting life and to bring Satan to ruin.
  11. By totally believing in him, through Bible Study and faith. Facing alot of trials and tribulations due to severe health and financial situations.
  12. Just knowing God is not enough. We have to learn and accept what he requires in order to be in his gavor. Trusting god, believers shouldn't have any doubt. He is the Father Almighty. and must remember most of all the God never lies, can not lie. Have surrendered my whole heart, mind, and soul to God and Jesus Christ.
  13. Satan attacks and uses our singul tendencies and/or weaknesses. If we are true worshipers of God he tests our faith. God wants us to stand firm and when we feel tested or unsure to pray to him continuously. Have not had a trial that invigorated me but it did stengthen me and gave me hope. If any of my trials inspired anyone, I do not know and haven't heard if it did nor did not.
  14. Affects me greatly. Gives me hope of what is to come when I go to my resting place. Makes me to continue to do what's required by God and to continue to please him.
  15. Affects me greatly. Gives me hope of what is to come when I go to my resting place. Makes me to continue to do what's required by God and to continue to please him.
  16. I have decided not to write my answers to this question because each and everyone that have posted said everything that I wanted to say.
  17. Because Ishamel began poking fun and did not want him to be an heir along with her son Isaac. Can't really say if she's wrong or not. I believe Sarah was going on by emotions because I feel she feard that not only Ismael would share in heir but that as long as Hagar was around that Abraham would show attention to Hagar more because of age. I have never forced anyone to act against their principles because we are all individuals but individuals tried to get me to go against my principles but I held firm to myself.
  18. Sarah's laughter was from God, a joyous laughter. Before, she laughed because of lack of faith and unbelieving. God did not bestow laughter upon her before. Abraham's laughter before was because of disbelief of Sarah and his age. Now his laughter is of joy. God has a great sense of humor and its filled with joy and love.
  19. They did not see any men in the land and therefore did not see any future. Since sexual misconduct was wide they became involved with it also. Lot's daughters really had no values whatsoever. How disgusting this must have seem to God that this immoral act was conducted. They actually could have waiting for the right time in other words eventually moved on and found men and became mothers in the right way instead of committing such a sin by getting their father drunk and laid down with him in order to become pregnant. Lot was afraid and plus his daughters kept giving him wine to drink so that is how he turned to intoxication. Not only was he afraid but he was weak. Lot did not have any hope whatsoever and he was very influential and his choose of residence was very very sad. The lesson is to never give in to fear, weakness and people who are influencial in a negative and harmful way.
  20. She was use to her homelife and did not want to leave. Because of her lack of faith and disobedience she turned to a pillar of salt because she looked back. She felt dispair, loneliness and fear in her heart. Struggled iwth loneliness and fear within my own heart. The lesson is that whatever you lose in material things you will gain spiritually
  21. They did not want to leave their old life and did not have strong faith to believe everything would be alright. Never hesitated from fleeing from danger because more afraid of the danger itself. Wanted to survive. The lesson for us is to have faith (strong) because God is not going to lead us into any danger or harm. He would not show us or guide us to a better place if it would be dangerous.
  22. Remember that his immoral act existed in Biblical times and considered as one of the many sins and they were dealt with accordingly by God. It is possible to have unconditional love for the person but still the act itself is a sin. I have to be totally honest to say that it is very hard to accept the person while condemning the act but the Bible teaches us to love one another and because we are imperfect we have no right to judge one another. Should the church be silent? No. The church should not be silent. We should go to the person(s) and go to the Bible and read the passages about sins and what happens when man lay down with man and woman lay down with woman. In discussing the matter with the person it should be done in a private meeting with the person and elders, overseers or minister.
  23. Christians do the Baptism because Jesus was baptized by John The Baptist. But the problem with baptism is that some or most congregations do not immerse the whole body like Jesus was baptized. Some baptize by sprinkling water on the top of the head and that is not how Jesus was baptized.
  24. Having your heart circumcised means to cut away and make it pure and obedient. To be able to receive the knowledge and to worship in spirit and truth. Must seek accurate knowledge and clean our hearts of worldly things that are not acceptable/pleasing to God. Just being externally religious and not internally you are basically being a hypocrite. Never struggled with external and internal. What I felt internal I acted what was internally outwardly. I never played with my faith.
