Q24. Access to the Father

Recommended Posts

What does it mean to have "access to the Father"? In what way does the Holy Spirit facilitate this access? In what way does Jesus enable this access?

Before Christ only Priest could go into the tabernacle, common men had to stay in the outer court. Jews and Gentiles had a wall between them because of the laws but Jesus tore down the walls, rent the curtain and gave us all access to the Father that we may come bolding to the throne room.

The Holy Spirit intercedes for us when we are even unable to prayer. sometimes only tearing or groanings will come but the Spirit understands even when we don't know how to pray. He is the teacher of how and what to say and the power to give us the boldness and staying power to remain in Christ.\

Jesus died as the ultimate sacrifice that all the laws was fulfilled in him and through Him and the work at Calvary we now have access to His Father and Our Father.

Q3. (Ephesians 2:17) What does it mean to have "access to the Father"?

When Jesus died on the cross, giving His life as the perfect sacrifice, he open the way so that all men may have access to the Father. The blood of Jesus allow all men to boldly access the holiest. Now instead of us having to present a sacrifice, we can approach God in prayer any place and at any time.

In what way does the Holy Spirit facilitate this access?

The Holy Spirit facilitates this access by making intercession on our behalf.

"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

In what way does Jesus enable this access?

Jesus also make intercession for us.

"Who, he that condemns? Christ that died, yes rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us." Rom. 8:34

To have access to the Father is having direct contact. Like talking on the phone with a friend we dial their number and it connects automaticly.

When we call upon the Lord we have DIRECT connect with HIM. We don't have to go though a certain individual or church.

Our contact is OPEN and DIRECT though the shedding of Jesus blood.

Jesus is our advocate to the Father.

The Holy Spirit is the drawing of man to HIMSELF Jesus Christ.

Now by the Grace of God it becomes a relationship rather than a ceremony.

The right of access to the Father maens that we can address Him directly; we have that privilege. We have this relationship through the mediation of Jesus, through the working of His Spirit. Without His death on the cross this access was not possible. Sin would have made this impossible. Further this access is available to all who believe whether Jew or Gentile. Further, we cannot come to God unless the Holy Spirit works within us to enable us to do so. Our redemption comes from the action of the Holy Spirit.

Christians have a special access to God through prayer. This is a previlege not granted to nonbelievers.

The Holy Spirit facilitates this access by acting like a translator for our prayers. Sometimes it's difficult to know how to prayer for something. The Holy Spirit helps us by making intercession to God on our behalf.

Jesus enables this access by being the only way we can come to God in prayer.

What does it means to have access to the Father? Paul says " we have access" and this access is based on peace which was made through the blood on the Cross. Roman 5- says, "Being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We were created as one, divided by sin, and reunited by one Jesus Christ. We have a common Father, a common problem name sin and a common solution and his name is Jesus Christ-it is because of his blood that we now have equal access to the father.

The Holy Spirit facilitate this access because we were reconciled to God through Jesus' death on the cross. Jesus enable us a christians to boldly come before the throne, and offer our prayers through faith, freedom and confidence in Jesus Christ.

My definition of access is that I can call My Father on the Royal telephone anytime, his line is never busy, I don't have to leave a message and wait for him to call me back, I can talk to him and tell him all about my troubles.

Having access to the Father means that i am now able to come before Him without having a priest go for me. I can enter the most Holy Place myself now as a Christian. Because God is a spirit, I am able to touch or reach Him through the Holy Spirit that dwells within me. Jesus enabled this access by by His death, burial and Ressurrection. The veil was torn in the Most Holy Place, now I have access to the Father. Jesus said himself that no one can come to the Father but by Him. For those who are lost, Jesus Christ is the only way and the only way to gain access to the Father.

Having access to the Father means we now have the right and priviledge to come into His presence - into the Holy of Holies. Jesus was the door, the passageway. The Holy Spirit is the vehicle. It is only through the blood of Jesus that we can enter and it is only by the Spirit that we can actually commune and interact with a Holy, awesome God.

Q3. (Ephesians 3:7-9) Why is Paul so careful to be humble about

his call and apostleship? How can his example help us remain as

humble servants?

Why is Paul so careful to be humble about his call and apostleship?

Because he can still remember who he was before. And the things he did.

How can his example help us remain as humble servants?

It helps to see others as they were and to see the changes they made in their own lives to become a humble servant.

To have access to the Father means to abide with Him through faith in Jesus. This implies that believers should love God and their fellowmen. The Holy Spirit facilitates this by providing the believer with the strength and inspiration to go on with the works of Christ. He is the helper promised by Jesus when He ascended to heaven. Also, Christ facilitated this access to the Father when He died on the cross thus tearing apart the barrier set by sin between God and man.

Access to the Father means that we no longer have a go-between, the priest, who communicates for us. We talk with God direct.

The Holy Spirit hears our thoughts and translates our deepest feelings as the intercessor.

Jesus enables this through his blood, his sacrifice, removing the barrier between us and God.

We were separated from the Father because of sin, when Jesus came He corrected that and made it possible through Him for us to have access to the Father. The Holy Spirit baptize us into the body of Christ, and Jesus gave us acces through His blood to be able to come boldly before the Father.

well, we don't have to kill a lamb in order to go to the father. no special service or ritual cleansing.i'm sure glad that god made this way more intimate than just going through the motions. the holy spirit seems to escort us in while jesus seems to announce our coming.and it was all covered by his blood.

We are now pure in His sight; we no longer need to purify ourselves through sacrifices to come before him. We no longer need priests to go to him with our needs or supplications. Jesus has provided the purity we required by giving his blood as the ultimate sacrifice. But, even though he has offered his blood as this perfect sacrifice, it is up to us to accept or reject his gift of reconciliation. When we do accept that gift, we are indwelled with the Holy Spirit which is now the intermediary we need to go to the father and announce us as members of his family who have inherited the right to come into his presence.

Before Jesus came, only the high priest was able to enter the Holy of Holys, even then they would tie a rope around his ankle so that if he was struck down they would be able to pull him out without entering. It is an awesome thing for sinful man to have access to a Holy God. Without Christ not one of us would be able to come near to God. Moses asked God to show Himself, God said that none can see Me and live!! It is only by Christ, in Christ and through Christ can we come to God. His Holy Spirit joins us in union with God, the Triune mighty God.

We now have direct access to the father. In the old testament, gentiles were totally excluded from "true worship". Only the priests were allowed into the temple and only the High priest was able to enter into the "Holy of Holies". Jesus has done away with the "old way" of worship. No more animal sacrafices. Jesus once and for all time has takes the place of animal sacrafices by becoming the perfect sinless, pure sacrafice for us. Since he who decended now has ascended and has sent the holy spirit to dwell within all believers; whit the Holy Spirit of God within us, and being covered by Chirst's blood; we can enter directly into the throne room of the God of all the universe to make our petitions known. The Holy Spirit not only protects us, but prompts us and urges us to become closer and closer to Chirst by his gentile nudging of our spirits to a closer and closer relationship with God the father through his son Jesus Christ. If we sin, the Holy Spirit convicts us of that sin; so that we may confess it and received forgiveness for that sin/transgression. Jesus enables our access as we are now seen by God the father as righteous, blamless, Holy even though were not. God sees our righteousness as we are covered by the blood of Chirst. His death on the cross atoned for my transgressions.

To have "access to the Father" means exactly that; we can talk to Him, one on one, no intermediary needed. The Holy Spirit facilitates this access by being sort of a translator. When we don't know how to pray for something, or when our emotions are so great that we can't focus, the Holy Spirit brings our petitions to God for us. Jesus enabled this access by dying on the cross so we could all receive the Spirit.

Hi Vicki. I'm doing the same lesson. I love your simplicity: To have "access to the Father" means exactly that; we can talk to Him. I often try to complicate things.

Q3. (Ephesians 2:17) What does it mean to have "access to the Father"?

We were cut off in our sins from relationship with the Father. When Jesus work on the cross tore the veil in two which separated sinful man from a Holy God, access to the Father was opened. As believers we have special privilege to come into His presence at any time knowing He's waiting with open arms to receive us. Those who are not yet believers in Jesus have no such relationship...although God did answer some of my unbeliving prayers in miraculous ways, before I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. ("God if you're there, will you help me to deliver this baby quickly and easily without a lot of pain,...I'm terrified!"......His answer was that I had no labor...a nearly 9 lb. baby delivered in less than an hour....without pain, or perspiration! The nurse told me this was not the way first time mother's usually deliver a large baby! The Holy spirit was wooing me to Jesus!")

In what way does the Holy Spirit facilitate this access?

The Holy Spirit woos and courts us to draw us to Jesus who is the Bridge between us and the Father. The Holy Spirit draws us into and helps us to pray to the Father, even taking our imperfect prayers and perfecting them to the Father (Rom. 8:26)

In what way does Jesus enable this access?

Jesus shed Blood cleanses us from sin and all unrighteousness, making it possible to enter into relationship with our Father. His Cross became the bridge across the chasm which separated us.

Q3. (Ephesians 2:17)

What does it mean to have "access to the Father"?

Jesus has removed the barrier, due to our sin, that existed between God and us. A state of peace now exists between God and believers, and we now have access at any time into the presence of God. This is in sharp contrast to the OT times when only the high priest could go into the Holy of Holies, the place of God's presence. And he could enter there on only one day of the year. It is such a blessing and privilege to think that we can through prayer have direct access to our Heavenly Father
