Truth and Holiness are defensive weapons ( John 8:32) Then you will know the truth and the truth shall set you free.
Jesus Himself is the truth that sets us free ( 36 ) So if the truth sets you free, you will be free indeed.
He is the source of truth, the perfect standard of what is right. H e frees us from the consequences of sin, from self-deception, and from deception by Satan. He shows us clearly the way to eternal life with God As we seek to serve G od, Jesus' perfect truth frees us to be all that God meant us to be. Which is a Holy people. When we are free from the evil of the old ways and seek God the Holy Spirit will teach us how to walk in Holiness. ( Holiness is pure with out mixture.)
With these two weapons as armament we are poerful in Christ.

The simple things as truth and personal holiness are powerful arament because they keep us walking in obedience to the Will of God and brings us God's blessings.
"If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures." Job 36:11 (KJV)
Truth and holiness is our defense against unrighteousness.

The perfect standard of what is rigth. He frees us from continued slavery to sin, from self-deeception, and from deception by satan. He shows clearly the way to eternal life with God. Thus , Jesus does not give us freedom to do what we want , but freedom to follow God- As we seek to serve God
Jesus' perfect truth frees us to be all that God meant us to be.

I believe that they can be both offensive and defensive. If we allow them to grow in our lives then we begin to be stronger in our faith and they become offensive by us using them to further the spreading of the gospel and other works that God has planned in advance for us to do.

Truth is what we girth around our loins this is what we hang the rest of our armanent on and as John 8:32 has been quoted this is what sets us free, truth.
Holiness is what we grow in and develop by entrenching in His Word and constantly praying to our Father.

Truth and holiness verifies who we are to others. When we stand in truth and holiness before satan and his army, he can not win. He knows this. That is why he uses the technique of lying to us to make our minds think that we are weak when in fact we are strong in The Lord.
Are they defensive or offensive weapons? They are completely offensive to satan. It really makes him angry when we know the truth but when we walk in The Light of Jesus, that light burns his eyes. What can I say? “The truth hurts”
We all know that it does but it also really hurts the devil and all of his plans too!
Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; Luke 12:35 (KJV)
John 12:31 "Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. (NKJV)
1 Thessalonians 5:8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. (NKJV)
We faithfully preach the truth. God’s power is working in us. We use the weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attack and the left hand for defense. We serve God whether people honor us or despise us, whether they slander us or praise us. We are honest, but they call us impostors. We are ignored, even though we are well known. We live close to death, but we are still alive. We have been beaten, but we have not been killed. Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything.
Light can not have fellowship with darkness? We can walk into the darkness but we must have our light on before we do or we will not see our way around.

The truth and personal holiness are our protections from the evil ways of satan. It is our understanding of the righteousness of the Lord. We are protected by our obedience, living holy, and walking righteously for God. If we walk righteously it is our powerful protection from the destruction of sin.
Are they defensive or offensive weapons?
I believe we use these weapons in both ways.
We learn and understand the truth which separates our beliefs from that of satans.
They are our defense and protection from satan when he comes after us, we use them to defend ourselves against the wilds of satan when he attacks us.

Such simple things as truth and personal holiness are such powerful armament, because the truth that we know and hold firmly will protect us from the deceit of the devil. Then, personal holiness that we understand that we have got in Christ, will protect us from the accusation or persecution by Satan, and will protect us to live holy lives, be obedient, to walk in God's way rightly. These are offensive weapons.

Truth and personal holiness are our Christian armor, our protection from evil. It sets us free.
Are they defensive or offensive weapons?
They are defensive weapons.
There is more joy in Jesus in 24 hours than there is in the world in 365 days. I know, I've tried them both.

Q3. (Ephesians 6:14) Why are such simple things as truth and personal holiness such powerful armament? Are they defensive or offensive weapons?
[/quo you can't get around the truth and for personal holiness is the same because it is living above the standards and systems of this world. they are both offensive and defensive weapons. we view them as defensive weapons but the world sees them as offensive.

Truth is the basis of our faith. Truth sets us free when we know the truth. Jesus is Truth. When we have the truth our foundation is on the Rock, rather than on sand which is always moving and shifting. It's hard to argue with truth...if it's Satan attacking, he knows the truth too...but he tries to distort and twist it to deceive. If it's a person, the truth is not only an armament, if heeded, it can also set that person free. Walking in truth and holiness are protection from the evil one.
Are they defensive or offensive weapons?
I think they are both! (As well as being "offensive" to those who hate God!)
They are offensive as armaments, but truth defends our faith. The martyrs spoke the truth of their testimonies in Rev. 12:11, and though they lost their lives they stood for their faith. When I use it as a sword when Satan attacks, it becomes a defensive weapon against his lies and accusations.
