Q3. Water and Spirit Baptisms
MarkH replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Preparing for the Kingdom (Matthew 3:1-17; 4:17)
The point of comparison is immersion. We are immersed in the will of God through repentance that our way of living will bring death but living God -
Q2. Offensive Baptism
MarkH replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Preparing for the Kingdom (Matthew 3:1-17; 4:17)
Some Jews thought because they kept the laws of Moses there was no reason to go down in water. They had kept the law. The Jews who accepted baptism they understood they need more than just attempting to follow the laws of Moses. They realized that no matter how hard they tried. The law only confirmed that they could not keep the law. They need more than does and don -
Q1. Faith without Repentance
MarkH replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Preparing for the Kingdom (Matthew 3:1-17; 4:17)
People learn how to perform as Christians without any power from God. A person will avoid repentance because they feel at one with themselves and they don -
Hi to All; I live in Arizona; where it seldom snows, rained twice this week. I've started many studies, completed some, others... Oh well it's all good.

What is in us who is greater than false prophets or Satan is the Comforter which came at the first Pentecost. With the Holy Spirit in us we know that we will overcome any and all obstacles in our lives. There is nothing we can

Q1. Jesus Is God in the Flesh
MarkH replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 6. God Is Love (1 John 4:1-21)
Believing that Jesus was God in the flesh is important because of love. It is in spite of our sinfulness that God loved us and came down to earth in flesh to show man that He (God) desires to be with us, and He wants us to live with him. This is not because we have some worth that He needs us at His side; rather it is what He desires. Satan wants us to think God has no love for us, because he remembers that he (Satan) had God -

Q5. Sin and Righteousness
MarkH replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. Sin Is Lawlessness (1 John 2:28-3:10)
It seems the false teachers were saying that what Jesus did on the cross for man had little to no affect on Christians. There were no change between the saved and the unsaved. They may have taught there was no difference between the righteous and the unrighteous. -

MarkH replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. Sin Is Lawlessness (1 John 2:28-3:10)

The reason Jesus came to earth was to free us so we did not have worry about keeping the law which God gave to Moses. God knew that we could not keep the law, even though men swore that they would keep it. While Jesus was on the earth He fulfilled the law. When we sin we place ourselves back under the law and we go further and further into breaking the law until we confess that only through the blood of Jesus are we cleansed from the law we cannot keep.

Q2. The Purifying Hope
MarkH replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. Sin Is Lawlessness (1 John 2:28-3:10)
If I knew that a famous person was coming to my house, I would make the effort to clean my house, shower, and dress before the person knocked on my door. All that Christ has done for me gives me the incentive to insure that my life is pleasing to Him when He returns. I want nothing to be out of place when he arrives. It -
Q1. Children of God
MarkH replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. Sin Is Lawlessness (1 John 2:28-3:10)
We are children of God in every sense imaginable and unimaginable. When a child is born into this world, the parents imagine the child being a certain way, looking a certain way, and having a certain amount of intelligenence. When the child arrives the parents then have to deal with the reality of the actual child. No amount of imagination will change who the child is or what it will look like. The child is real. The same with a Christian; we are born in the body of Christ we have many promises which God has bestowed on us. Just like a child born in the world, we have a spirit which gives us the ability to function in the world. Christians have the Holy Spirit which gives us the ability to function in the earth the same way Jesus did without having to sin. When we have a problem we can go to God in the heavenly realm and take to Him and receive answers. We are assured the answer will be what we need to solve the issue. We are changed for we no longer are live by the natural spirit we were born with which seeks to sin. We have the Holy Spirit who seeks to establish and maintain the will of God in our lives, both here on earth and in heaven when we get there. -
Q4. Abiding in Jesus
MarkH replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Antichrists, Anointing, and Abiding (1 John 2:18-27)
If one wants to go to the state of Washington, one must understand that Washington State has borders. Any place outside the borders of Washington no matter how close to the border you are is still outside of Washington and he or she is not in Washington. To be in the borders of Jesus, one must make Jesus Lord of their life, and confess their sins. Once this is done you are in Jesus. Sin is the only thing that brings you outside of Jesus. So the only thing to do is when one finds they are nearing the border of Jesus, they need to admit they are leaving the borders that God wants for him or her and begin to do whatever is necessary to stay within the boundaries of our Lord and Savior. This is what John means by -
We are the body of Christ. In the world people are born without all the limbs and parts of the body, (some are born with extra). These persons learn to do with out the missing limbs; it would be easier if they had the missing limb to function; the same with the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-14 tells us the body of Christ has apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. They are needed for us to become perfect; to edify the body, to get the work of God done in the way God wants it done. Once this is done we will have unity in the faith and become perfect men and women. We won

Q3. Witness of the Spirit
MarkH replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Antichrists, Anointing, and Abiding (1 John 2:18-27)
God though three separate beings; Father, Son, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, are of one mind. They are in unison with each other. So when a person gets saved, the Holy Spirit lives inside the person. It is the same as Jesus living inside one who is saved. John 1:1 lets us know that Jesus is the Word and the Word is God. When the Holy Spirit lives inside a Christian, the Word is inside of the Christian. For this reason Christians don -
Q2. The Anointing
MarkH replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Antichrists, Anointing, and Abiding (1 John 2:18-27)
When a person gets saved, the Holy Spirit comes in them and lives with them. This is why when the person sins they sense they have done wrong. The spirit the person is born with wars against the Holy Spirit until the person gets the sin or wrong doing right. Once the person is right with God the guilt goes away. Continuous sin without confessing of sins will make the battle with the Holy Spirit not bother the person as much but He will attempt remind the person to get right with God. -
Q1. Antichrists
MarkH replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Antichrists, Anointing, and Abiding (1 John 2:18-27)
