Q4. Soils and the Kingdom

Q4 In the Parable of the Soils, Jesus is showing to us the tools we need to help

ourselves as well as others to grow in the 'Message of the Kingdom.' It is the

spiritual growth of oneself and how to sustain and persevere on. It i important

that we need to sow our seeds of faith in good soil and through daily cultivating

and nurturing the soil, we can produce fruits that will last,so that the good news

can spread to others who hunger for it. We are assigned such tasks and made

disciples to reach out to them to come and taste the goodness of the Lord and

in the hope of expanding the realm and reign of the King.

It is only as our roots go deeper and deeper into Christ that we are being filled up to all the fullness of God!

" . . . So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God" Ephesians 3:17-19.

There is a parable in the Old Testament about a magnificent cedar tree:

"So it was beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its branches: for its roots extended to many waters" Ezekiel 31:7

My View on this is: The only happiness here below is to strive to be always content with what Jesus gives us.Ref.:

Ps. 126 Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of Joy,**

What Jesus intended the Parable of the soils to teach us about the message of the kingdom?

Jesus teaching was that all soils can bear fruit but the sower has to ensure that it is done well.there may be losses but still there must be joy in doing the task.

Why are these truths essential for keeping disciples from being disillusioned ?

It was essential for them to realize that the frustrations disappointments that may lie ahead for them- so he told them in a story style similar to their experiences so that if or when this occur they will not quit remembering that God told Joshua" I will never leave you nor forsake."

We must be vigilant about the Word and if we know the Word, when tough times come, we have a basis for hope because Jesus is there. Also by keeping our soil fertile and nourished, we will continue to grow in God's Word.

God's kingdom begins in and centers on the human heart; its growth and advancement is unseen but constant. Yahushua said in His explanation of the four soils that His disciples had been permitted to understand the secrets but others had not. To those who were open, more understanding is given and they will have an abundance of knowledge.

A farmer doesn't sow his field and then walk up and down the rows shouting, "Grow! Grow!" Nor does he monitor every seed he plants in order to determine its final outcome. Rather, the farmer does the work and leaves the results to God. It isn't our message, it is His.

All of the seed that we plant, originally belongs to Him, since we are led by the Spirit of Him who sends us out into the field. We are the workers who take His word to our heart and live it daily, so that those who are looking into the field of the kingdom of God or standing on the edge of the field are keeping an eye on what comes up in the field.

It is God who must grant a person spiritual eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart to understand. Until that happens, God's "spiritual truth will remain a riddle to those standing on the edge of the field.

Jesus wanted us to bear fruit in spreading the word of the kingdom to others. He wanted us to be good soils and bear fruits: 30-fold, 60-fold and even 100-fold. He also wanted us to be aware of those who are not ready to receive the word and even those who receive the word but reject it when tribulations arise.

These truths help us to remain faithful in working according to the will of God.

Jesus wanted to emphasize that the seed (Word of God) is good and will grow when sown faithfully. He also wanted to let the disciples know that not all would receive the seed with the same enthusiasm. As a farmer deals with different soils and conditions, so the disciple will face different attitudes and receptiveness. Both farmer and disciple will cultivate and nourish where the conditions are the best and God will provide the harvest for His Kingdom.

Was the problem in the sowing end or the "receiving" end? If the seed is sown faithfully, is that a guarantee that all will be fruitful?

What the Parables of the Soils teach us about the "message of the kingdom" is that it is important to sow the seeds of the gospel no matter what. Then we are to trust God to bring in the harvest of souls to His Kingdom.
