Q2. (2 Thessalonians 3:2-3) Why is Timothy's role to be a strengthener and encourager so important?

Timothy’s role to be a strengthener and encourager was important, because the Thessalonians were new believers. Paul did not want them to become discouraged while they were being persecuted, or afflicted for their faith. He wanted the church to stay intact. Paul also wanted to remind them through Timothy that they would face trials because of their faith in Christ.

In what ways was this a sensitive role?

This was a very sensitive role, because if this situation was not handled right these new believers would become dishearten and lose faith. The Thessalonians needed someone to encourage and strengthen to be faithful followers of Christ.

How did it help Timothy to be sent on this assignment?

For Timothy to be sent on this assignment was an encouragement to him that Paul trusted him in the ministry. This would have given Timothy the courage to stand confidently in the place of Paul for Christ, the gospel, and to help further the ministry there at Thessalonica.

How does delegating ministry help the overall enterprise of the Kingdom?

It is imperative that we learn to delegate ministry to help in the overall enterprise of the Kingdom. We have been commissioned by Christ to go out and make disciples for Him. We need to remember that we are brothers and sisters in Christ, co-laborers (1 Corinthians 3:9 and 2 Corinthians 6:1) together and we cannot do the work alone. We have to learn to delegate to others, especially the young people who is serving God faithfully for the work of God to continue.

Matthew 28:19-20 – Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

I Corinthians 3:9 – For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

Timothy's role as encourager and strengthener is exactly how we should live our daily lives in which God wants us to show his love. This is so important in today's world for it is evolving into a "all about me" world. The assignment given to Timothy is special since it demonstrates God's assignment for each of us instead of just following our own ways. If not for delegation how can the "family" be used as 1 body.

Timothy's role to be a stengthener and encourager is so important because, the Thessalonian believers needed someone to stand with them as they endured persecution for their faith.

This was a sensitive role because if Timothy wasn't able to encourage the believers, they could lose faith.

It helped Timothy to be sent on this assignment because it would help him to grow and mature in his faith.

Delegating ministry helps the overall enterprise of the Kingdom because one person can't do it all. Sadly many believers try to act like "super Christians",thinking they can do the Lord's work on their own. As a result, they suffer burn out when the task becomes too much for them and God's kingdom suffers as a result.

To strenghthen and encourage the Thessalonians was important to keep them in the faith. If there was no encouragement they might have been tempted to walk away. Too much was at stake. The souls of men.

People needed to be built up in the faith and not torn down. It required sensitivity to do this.

I am sure that Timothy was built up in his own faith as he saw God's working with the seeds that had been planted.

Delegating ministry teaches, instructs, confirms the faith of others and spreads the faith as you see the Kingdom grow through the difficulties and perseverence as people use their God given abilities to serve God.

God Bless!

Timothy’s role to be a strengthener and encourager was so important because this was a new church and the person that started the church couldn’t return and they needed all the encouragement that they could get in order to continue on.

It was a sensitive role because he needed to listen to the problems that they were having and be compassionate toward their needs. Since timothy was young this also helped Timothy mature and Paul also gave him the confidante that he needed to be their pastor.

Delegating ministry helps the overall enterprise of the Kingdom by letting more people get involved and they have some good ideas also. They can also help spread the word of God.

Why is Timothy’s role to be a strengthener and encourager so important?

Thimothy's role was very important as the  newly established church at this time was facing persecution and tremendous pressure from the Jews. This situation is further complicated by the ejection of Paul from the city as such there was no one to continue teaching, strengthening  and encouraging the young believers. So Thimothy had a vital role in supporting the church growth.

In what ways was this a sensitive role.

I was a sensitive role as he had to work undetected as the Church was facing persecution.

How did it help Timothy to be sent on this assignment?

This heavy responsibility given to Thimothy, a young man, further strengthened his character as an important co-worker. It also gave him an opportunity to work in liaison with Pau, a great discipler and God's servant and this would have certainly built up his faith and resolve to follow Paul's footsteps.

How does delegating ministry help the overall enterprise of the Kingdom?

As the ministry expands we would certainly need more 'hands' the help and co-ordinate the ministry. This will provide a platform to introduce and train new workers to help in the ministry. Also delegating will reduce the work pressure on the leaders and avoid a burnout. It will also free the leaders to concentrate on the more urgent and important issues facing the Church

Timothy role as a strengthener and encourager is important to keep the church on the right path in serving Christ in case some begin to waver. The role was sensitive because Timothy was young and still learning, but he was faithful to his work for Christ. It helped him strengthening his own walk Christ. Everyone in the ministry play a important role in winning and keeping souls for the kingdom.

Young believers often don't know what to expect and may think problems mean they have done something wrong. They are not yet used to hear the voice of Jesus for themselves and may listen to the enemy without realizing it. So they need someone to help them to figure out what is right and what is wrong; and when they have fallen, how to quickly stand up again instead of hiding from each other or God because they feel guilty. They need an example to follow.

Timothy is not Paul so they may need some time to recognize that it is not the familiar father figure only who can help them but God himself who can also work through someone younger in age then they are. They need to learn to trust God and Timothy.

Timothy also had to learn to work without Paul and depend on God alone. This experience will have strengthened his own faith.

Delegating ministry not only raises the next generation it also proves that God is the master and we are only the tools which he can be exchanged as he sees fit.

Q2. (2 Thessalonians 3:2-3) Why is Timothy’s role to be a strengthener and encourager so important? In what ways was this a sensitive role. How did it help Timothy to be sent on this assignment? How does delegating ministry help the overall enterprise of the Kingdom?

Paul was concerned that the Thessalonians were affected by persecution and as new believers that is hard to endure and come through. Timothy was sent to strengthen and encourage them so their faith would not weaken or if it had Timothy would help them get through their trials while the Word of God was still working in them. This assignment was also a strengthening for Timothy to be sent alone to do this work. He was a man of low profile at the time and could accomplish the assignment. He was trusted to go alone and do it. Trust from another is a great encouragement in our mission for Christ. Delegating ministry spreads the Gospel faster and in many more areas!

Timothy's role as a strengthener and encourager is very important to the Thessinolians becasuse they are so new in the faith.  Timothy can strengthgen what Paul has started through God's word and encourage these new converts through God's word.  This is a very vernable time for these new converts and they need to be strengthened as well as encouraged.  Timothy is being used to help Paul in this area and it spreads the Kingdom further by establishing a strong base for these believers.

Timothy's role as strengthener or encourager is impo, because Paul could not go back to Thessalonica himself. He had been put out. Paul was concerned about the new believers and wanted someone to go check on them and see if their faith was still strong.

It was sensitive in that Timothy was a fairly new convert himself and had never been given a task of that magnitude before.

It helped Timothy in his faith walk with Christ.

Delegating ministries helps the overall enterprise of Kingdom building by strengthening everyone's faith and allowing everyone a hand in the Kingdom building project.

The opposition was persecuting Christian in Thessalonica, because Paul did not want them (Christians in Thessalonica) to be unsettled by persecution; he sent Timothy to strengthen and encourage them. Timothy learned the ministry and to trust God as he was alone in Thessalonica.  Delegating ministry increase worker in the kingdom of God

The role of  a strengthener and encourager is important because Timothy is a  a brother or sister who works in God's cause alongside great men and women of God. He is a valued co-worker or co-laborer of God's! The field of Timothy's labor is spreading or proclaiming the gospel of Christ (notes) This is a role that many Christians play. Hence Timothy's example is important today as it was 2000 years ago.

Timothy was young and probably needed an independent role in order to fully develop his skills. As time will show Timothy responded and rewarded Paul  with a fine job .

delegating ministry help the overall enterprise of the Kingdom for no one can do it all. Not even Paul. Maybe his thorn in the flesh was a sign from God so he would learn to delegate .

Timothy is to make sure that the church and the faithful of Thessalonica have the back ground and the resources to stay faithful to God and Jesus. They were a new church that was being pressured by outside forces to give up the faith. They were left without a strong figure to set the best possible example for a period of time. Timothy is to be their example and their rock to help them grow and mature into a powerful, faithful group to Christ. he needed to express his own faith. He needed to face his own human limitations. He needed to be able to grow as a leader to these people. He needed to prove himself and his love of God. It was a strong character building exercise. Delegating people to work in different areas of ministry helps to grow stronger and more faithful followers of Christ. People will be able to take a pride in what they do and their excitement will spill over to others around them. There will be a growing excitement in which God will be glorified in many more people.

Timothy's role was to strengthen and encourage those in Thessalonica because he is a brother in Christ and a true fellow worker for God. The Thessalonians have had been under great pressure from their fellow countryman. They had upset the commerce of the idol makers and the Judaizers were also trying to get them to follow the Mosaic law, thus many people were leaving the Synagogue.

Timothy was not well known by the gentile and Jewish population of Thessalonica. Therefore he was able to sneak in and help the new believers in Christ.

This helped Timothy for this assignment because it contributed to building his character in leadership.

Delegating out ministry assignments helps the enterprise of the Kingdom of God, because it sends forth those believers who can help the church grow in their faith.

Timothy had to be sent, to this new church to give them guidance and confidence in what they are doing, assuring them that they are on the right path, and telling them to stand fast despite the hardships. We find it ourselves in life , when thing go tough, or if we are unsure about stuff, it makes such a difference if we are encouraged and guided by someone you respect in your life.

It was a sensitive role because firstly he had to return to an area where he was not welcome, and secondly he was likely to get some criticism, if you may, by some of the fellow Christians there about the hanging accusations around Paul, and why they are having it as tough. So not only did Timothy have to go under the radar but I think he also served as a mediator for Paul despite the letter he wrote. I would be surprised if they read the letter and then just said, " o, ok that explains it all , thanks". Talk about being the messenger?

It took courage!!!! These are the moments when you get to know yourself more, and grow as a person in character, and this is where you strengthen your faith, and trust in God to be by your side in this task.

Delegation is important , as Jesus showed us from the beginning of his ministry. He commands us to go and be disciples, and by delegating we can be far more effective in reaching our goals, and also  using those with special talents, to do things best suited for them, in helping to spread the Gospel. In this case Timothy had the ability to not stir up things too much and being sensitive to a situation that required a balanced approach.

Timothy had to further catechize the Thessalonians in matters of faith, and comfort these new believers in the midst of sorrows and confusion. Indeed his role was very crucial; these Thessalonians needed further instructions on matters pertaining to the Faith.  So Paul sent his dear friend to Thessalonia to further catechize them, and comfort them during persecutions.

Timothy had his work cut out for him.  He had to minister to people who were going through tough times; wondering why tragic things are going on.  The persecutions from family and neighbors.  Timothy's ministry was indeed sensitive; he was able to use the "balm of Gilead" to confirm and comfort those in sorrow.   Timothy was anointed by God for this holy task.  The Ministerial assignment was just right for this young minister;. he knew that he had to be prayed up and to seek the Lord constantly.   There were no magic bullets no fancy church seminars: just relying on the HOLY SPIRIT to anoint him during this challenging time.

This delegation is so essential in the ministry.  The Thessalonians needed support during trying times.  Apostle Paul was in a tight spot; he had to do something.    So he chose Timothy to be  his right hand man.   The Thessalonians meant the world to him, and he didn't want them to backslide.

It's extraordinarily difficult to comfort other Christians in the midst of an unfair and unjust persecution. Their pain and suffering tends to consume them -- it's difficult for an outsider, particularly one enjoying relatively pleasant circumstances, to TRULY sympathize and empathize with a persecuted brother or sister. Heart-felt words of comfort don't seem to break through. Sometimes, just sitting next to them in silent prayer is best.

Young Timothy was given such a role. He must have been a godly and mature man for his age. Sent to the persecuted Thessalonians, his mission was two-fold: figure out what's going on; comfort as best able.
