Q3. (20:3-6) What does this story teach us about God's view of adultery? Can God forgive a person who has committed adultery?

God takes adultery extremely seriously and even views the sin of adultery punishable by death.

Yes, one can be forgiven of committing adultery.  John wrote "But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness." 1 John 1:9

A. God tells Abimelech in a dream, "You are good as dead because of the woman you have taken; she is a married woman" (20:3).  With mankind, adultery is nothing more than "cheating."  "God sees it as a sin punishable by death (20:3) and a sin against God himself? (20:6) (Dr. Wilson).

Abimelech didn't know that she was "married and hadn't had sex with her;" therefore, "God shows him mercy" (Dr. Wilson).

B. Yes (John 8:11).

Q3. (20:3-6) What does this story teach us about God's view of adultery? Can God forgive a person who has committed adultery?

The stories of Pharaoh and Abimelech with the taking of Abraham's wife Sari teaches us that God takes adultery very seriously, having sexual intercourse with another man's wife.

God can and will forgive a person who has committed adultery provided they are sincerely sorry and repent of the son. God is a holy, just God full of mercy and loving kindness.

Q3. (20:3-6) What does this story teach us about God's view of adultery? Can God forgive a person who has committed adultery?

God views adultery as a criminal offense worthy of death. Bible declares that marriage bed is honorable and every other relationship outside marriage is adultery and an abomination in the sight of God. When the children of Israel ran after other gods, He declares that they were committing spiritual adultery. Adultery grieves the heart of God, both physical and spiritual adultery.

There is no sin that cannot be forgiven other than denying the work of Christ as convicted by the Holy Spirit, which I consider to be blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. For, it is the Holy Spirit who convicts men of sin, righteousness and judgement. When a person rebels at His conviction, he is denying the work of the Christ, which blots out every sin committed by every person on the planet earth. But when you accept His work, repent of your sin, whatever those sins may be, including adultery, it will be forgiven by God.

God hates adultery and sees it as He sees all sin. Yes for He forgave the woman caught in adultery and told her to sin no more. As long as we confess our sins and he will choose to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

God hates sin...there is no big sin little sin...more than or less than sin.. Sin is sin...there are kinds of sin but they are all sins as far as God  is concerned.  We are forgiven of our sins through Jesus who died on the cross for our sins so that we may still have a way to the Father....When we ask for forgiveness and repent in Jesus name we are forgiven, and that is what God requires...He requires us to live holy and righteous as He is....

God does not like adultery. He has talk about this in his word. He wants faithfulness in a marriage. If a couple is having issues, God wants them to work those issues out by depending on him to help get things right. No matter what's going on he does not condone adultery.

God can and does forgive a person who has committed adultery. God is a merciful and forgiving God. If a person is truly seeking him for forgiveness he will forgive. But, it doesn't mean that their marriage will remain it depends on how the other person feels. But sometimes the other party will forgive and want it to work. It's just best not to get involved with adultery but God still forgives even if a person makes a mistake.
