Q4. (Matthew 1:23) How did the prophetic concept of the virgin conception and the name "Immanuel" find their fullness in the birth of Jesus to Mary?

The prophetic words uttered in Isaiah 7:14 were a foreshadowing of a greater event in the future. The background context of this scripture is riveting. The armies of Aram and Israel made a pack to fight against Judah and divide the conquered land among themselves. When Ahaz, king of Judah, and his people heard about the plan,

It comes from the shadowing prophesy by Isaiah in Chapter 7:14 where Isaiah exhorts King Ahaz of Judah who was facing a siege by the armies of Israel and its allies. Isaiah in the passage urges Ahaz to stand firm and trust God. Isaiah told Ahaz that a virgin would concieve and bear a child to be called Immanuel as a reminder that God is with his people in times of trouble. In the time this baby would grow to be just a young child Judah's enemies would be destroyed.

The virgin birth from Marym in the new Testament is presented as a fulfillment of the above prophesy in the time of King Judal because again a child Jesus must be born and his name must be Immanuel indicating that God would be among his people again and liberate them from the enemy, this time the enemy being Satan.

Hello! Thanking for bringing out the fact that Satan is our ultimated enemy, and Jesus' people are being and will be liberated!

I got a bit lost in how the prophecy was fulfilled in Ahaz's time, considering that, to my knowledge, there was no virgin birth that occurred then. Nevertheless, as far as how this profecy was fulfilled in Jesus' birth--Jesus' birth was indeed a virgin birth and He literaly was Immanuel.

"All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel' -- which means, 'God with us.'" (1:22-23)

Mary was the virgin and before she ever knew a man she gave birth to a son whom she named Jesus...showing the birth of Christ from a virgin...then the name Jesus which means God saves...and that Jesus will be called Immanuel...meaning God is with us

Q4. (Matthew 1:23) How did the prophetic concept of the virgin conception and the name "Immanuel" find their fullness in the birth of Jesus to Mary?

It is the fulfillment of the foreshadowing prophecy that a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel...God with us. The Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary and conceived God's Son, Who is the second person of the Holy Trinity. He existed always with the Father and was the Word present and spoken at creation. When Mary delivered this prophecied baby, God came to earth in the flesh as one of us to become our Redeemer and Savior.

I love that GOD IS HERE! Never more than a heartbeat or breath away, and will never leave me nor forsake me...that His birth, death and resurrection defeated the enemy of my soul...Satan. Praise God!

In Isaiah 7:14, the prophet promises that a child will be born of a virgin mother and his name will be Immanual, or God with us. Jesus' birth of Mary is fullness of the prophecy.

Q4. (Matthew 1:23) How did the prophetic concept of the virgin conception and the name "Immanuel" find their fullness in the birth of Jesus to Mary?

The virgin conception of the child of the Holy Ghost fulfils the prophecy of Isaiah 7:14, in that this is a second fulfilling of that prophecy. The first virgin birth, possibly in Isaiah's time, was in itself a prophecy, or type, of the ultimate fulfillment that came with the birth of Christ to Mary.

the Child Jesus was born of a Virgin, He was named Jesus.

this name meant God with us or the same as immanuel.

The fact that this happened just as Isiah's prophesy had

suggested says to many people that that old testament

prophecy in Isiaha was fulfilled in the Birth of Jesus.

That it did not apply to a child born at the time of

Isiaha . It meant that God had a plan long ago and that

the plan would be fullfilled in God's time. In the order

God wanted it to happen The greatest part of this fulfillment

being fulfilled in the birth and death and resurrection of

Jesus ( God here with us ).

Q4. (Matthew 1:23) How did the prophetic concept of the virgin conception and the name "Immanuel" find their fullness in the birth of Jesus to Mary?

Matthew was writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to say that Mary was a virgin, so God would have to be in this for Jesus to have been conceived. So the name Immanuel, God With Us would find its fullfillment in the birth of Jesus to Mary.

Praise God! Nothing is too dificult for Him!

God Bless!

them (Immanuel), He revealed His plan of salvation to them in the birth of a Saviour

to a virgin called Mary.

Q4. (Matthew 1:23) How did the prophetic concept of the virgin conception and the name "Immanuel" find their fullness in the birth of Jesus to Mary?

The initial fulfillment of the virgin birth presumably took place in the prophet Isaiah's time, while the ultimate fulfillment and completion of this word is found in Christ with Mary as the virgin mother. In both fulfillment the name "Immanuel" was God's reminder to His people that His presence will be with them.

Q4. (Matthew 1:23) How did the prophetic concept of the virgin conception and the name "Immanuel" find their fullness in the birth of Jesus to Mary?

Isaiah 7:14 gives us a prophecy about the virgin conception and the name "Immanuel".

This is quoted in Matthew 1:23.

By this, Matthew shows us that Jesus is the fulfilling of the prophecy.

Q4. (Matthew 1:23)

How did the prophetic concept of the virgin conception and the name "Immanuel" find their fullness in the birth of Jesus to Mary?

Here we have prophetic foreshadowing; Isaiah 7:14, had an early fulfilment (in the days of Ahaz) and later, complete fulfilment (in the birth of Christ). This verse points to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ - the Son of the virgin whose name indicates that He is Immanuel, God-with-us. If it was not a virgin birth, Jesus would have inherited Adam

How did the prophetic concept of the virgin conception and the name "Immanuel" find their fullness in the birth of Jesus to Mary?

The virgin conception, as well as the name 'Immanuel' (meaning God with us) would assure Mary that Jesus is fully God. This would in turn, support all prophecies leading up to the birth of Jesus, which further persuades Mary of Jesus being the Messiah.
