Q4. Reconciliation

Recommended Posts

Q4. (Romans 5:9-11) What does "reconciliation" mean? Why is reconciliation with God necessary? We understand our having been saved by Jesus' death (5:10a, past tense). In what sense are we being saved (5:10b, present tense) by his life? What is Jesus doing for us in the present?

Reconciliation is a change of relationship between two people. A rejoining after separation. We need to be rejoined with God Almighty so that He can teach us and take care of us. He loves us and wants to do this.

We are being saved from God's wrath. And Jesus is talking for us to The Father for our needs. He is our Advocate!

Reconciliation means a restoration of a relationship. In the context of our scripture passage, Jesus' action on the cross has reconciliated us with God. Reconciliation with God means life -- without it is death.

We are being saved presently through the work of the Holy Spirit in transforming our lives into Christ-centered - Christ-like lives. Jesus Christ sits on the right hand side of God and makes intercession on our behalf.

Reconciliation means being fully restored in an unbroken relationship with God.

It is necessary as God is holy and cannot look upon sin. Without reconciliation, there can be no relationship.

In the present - and the future - Jesus will take our restored relationship and use it to change me to His likeness, to teach me His ways and to use me to further His kingdom.

It means that when I sin, I will be forgiveness and reconciled - restored to God.

BUT ONLY IF I LET HIM

Reconcilliation means that all differences are resolved, all sins are forgiven and there is now no hostility between us, only peace and harmony.

Reconcilliation with God is neccessary because we cannot be saved and enter the Kingdom of Heaven without it. Also, the empty space in our hearts would remain empty if we do not gladly receive Jesus into our lives.

We are constantly 'being saved' because once Jesus has entered into our hearts, He is actually inside of us, changing our thinking, our being, our doing, and taking us from glory to glory - a bit at a time. He leads us, teaches us guards and guides us. He shows us how to pray, and how to pray the things that are on His heart. As we open up each part of our lives to Him, He transforms that area. When we open up every part of our lives to Him, holding nothing back, He will change us to be the person that He intended us to be when He first formed us in our mother's womb. Sometimes these processes will be painfull for us, but what joy when the transformation is complete. God wants His people to be a Holy Nation - 'Be ye Holy, for I am Holy' He keeps on with us and never gives up.

Reconciliation means we have become sons or daughters of God we have been joined together with him. We were reconciled when we confessed and believed. Our walk with Christ is a daily one. We must always stand on guard for the enemy. Jesus sits with the Father making intercessions for us to the Father.

Reconciliation means the exchange of hostility for friend ship. We were sinners, enemies and seperated from God. We were running away and hiding ourselves from God because of our horrible sins. But because of God's love, his son died and the shedding of his blood brought cleansing and making us righteous. By faith in God through Jesus Christ we are now justified, and therfore can aproach God unhindered as children and friends, not as enemies again.

Reconciliation with God was necessary because in our filthy unredeemed state we could not aproach him (he is holy and cannot be contaminated by any filth). There was therefore a great devide that seperated us from God. Praise God, the gap has been bridged now.

Jesus saved us by his death but his life is still saving us now by the activity of the holy spirit who lives in us justifying us, helping us to live righteuos lives and reminding us of the Word of the Lord.

Jesus is now alive and is seated at the right hand of God interceding for us.

Lesson 1, Q4

Reconciliation is the restored fellowship between us and God. Reconciliation means we no longer are His enemies and are accepted as friends. We now have free access and have peace with God. We have salvation from sin and have been declared righteous.

Reconciliation with God is necessary because God is a holy God and hates sin. Christ took the punishment we deserved by dying on the cross for our sins and reconciled us to God. The hostility and enmity towards God has been removed and has been changed to friendship and acceptance. God is reconciled to us and we to Him through the death of His Son.

Since Jesus lives in us, He dwells in our hearts by faith. Salvation is being worked in us through the power of the Holy Spirit. The sanctification process works in us the character of Christ. We have a salvation that took care of the past, is taking care of the present, and well take care of our future.

Jesus is our great High Priest and Intercessor. We can receive forgiveness of our sins by confessing them. Jesus is ever interceding for us.

Reconciliation-----Change or exchange. Reconciliation means the our state of alienation from God has been changed. We are no longer enemies of God, we are at peace with God. Reconciliation with God is necessary for us to be saved from the power of sin. God declares a person who was formerly His enemy to be righteous before HIm. We can expect salvation from God's wrath. We are saved from the power of sin. It is necessary to die to sin and present ourselves to God as an "instructment of righteousness."

Q3. (Romans 5:15-19) By what right does Adam represent all humankind? His trespass

By what right does Christ become head of all who become his disciples? His death of the Cross.

If Christ is not our "representative" or "head," how can his death for sins be effective for us? Since we believe that he is our risen Lord then if He is not our head it means that his death has not effect on us.

Reconciliation is to come together in agreement. It is necessary to reconcile with God so that we can have a loving relationship with him. We are being saved by Jesus' life because He taught us the right way to live when He was on earth. Jesus is helping us in this life by interceding for us with the Father and by the peace He left with us.

reconciliation is to the restoration to harmony, or renewal of friendship. Because our friendship with him had been destroyed by sin and the only way to unite with Him is trhough reconciliation. Jesus is alive and our salvation comes because he overcame death and He is alive. Through the Holy Spirit, He corrects us, comforts us and gives us eternal life by believing in Him.

"What does "reconciliation" mean? The dictionary says " to restore to friendship or harmony". A great definition as our pre-reconciliation friendship/realtionship with God already exists and he already loves us! All we have to do is accept our relationship with God through Jesus Christ and it's ours for the taking!

The condition of this realtioship is to attempt to live our lives in a good way, free from sin as Jesus did. One's realtioship with Jesus is a very real and present thing. He is here to help us live this way and enjoy it :)

Reconciliation refers to the regaining of unity between disparate persons. We had effectively called God a liar by believing other than His words, and thus dissociated ourselves from His intimacy. This is the greatest possible insult to God and could not be undone by us.

If we are to have intimacy with God ( as was His original intention), then reconciliation between us us necessary. You can't call someone a liar and continue to have the same intimate relationship. It required His forgiveness, mercy and grace to provide a way back for those who want it.

He seeded His life into the earth (poured Hi blood on the ground, before sending HIs Spirit on Pentecost) so that if we would give away our life, we'd receive His life - and reconciliation with God the Father - in its place. We are actually, now, the presence of Christ on earth, because His Spirit lives in us as it did in Him.

Having sent us the Holy Spirit, He is interceding for us with he Father.

Reconciliation can only happen when there has been a broken relationship, where hurt has taken place and grief has taken root. It is the restoration of relationship between two people, requiring forgiveness and the dissolution of grief. This, in the natural, is extremely difficult to achieve. A parent may achieve it with a small child, but between two adults (who should have "known better") it is an unlikely scenario without the power of God's grace. If we are to live as adopted sons of God, then this grace is necessary, that we should be reconciled and in unity with one another.

The gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost changed Peter from a terrified runaway to a bold, passionate and fearless preacher of the Word in complete unity with His Father and the risen Christ. Not only have we been resurrected from the dead with Jesus, but we actually are the righteousness of God on this earth, living by the grace and direction of the Holy Spirit who seeded Jesus in Mary, and also is seeded in us through Him. We are no longer our own, but are bought with a price - slaves of righteousness. We were not so dearly purchased to go on living in sin exactly as if nothing had happened, but to represent Christ on the earth until He comes again. We are new creatures, and can never be the same again after experiencing the power of Christ in us. We wear His insignia and we are to live permanently in reconciliation, not grieving again the Spirit of God. Recreated in His image, we are His exhibits! We are his love letter to the rest of the world, that they also might know Him.

At present Jesus is operating in us through His Holy Spirit, so that we His hands and feet, His voice and eyes and ears as we journey through this temporary life. He is walking with us (the shepherd) through the Valley of the Shadow of Death (this life of ignorance of God) giving us the staff of life for comfort, (the Word in due season), boldness in place of fear, (The truth sets us free of lies and fear), a feast (set before us in the presence of our enemy) of love, hope and truth, and the gifts of the Spirit, annointing with the oil of the Spirit for inspiration and direction, goodness and mercy following us all the days of our lives, and a place in the House of the Lord forever. Ps 23).

To reconcile is to restore to friendship or harmony Webster Ninth New Dictionary We were seperated by sin and by the blood of Jesus we can be reconciled to God through HIs sacrifice. By HIs death he gives us life through HIs blood. He is at the present at the right hand of God the Father praying for us.

Reconciliation is renewed relationship, but that relationship was not a casual one but a close one. Something or someone broke the fellowship between the two parties and their relationship became estranged. Reconciliation means that the relationship has been mended back together again. Now there is harmony instead of hurt, love and peace instead of anger, bitterness and resentment. The friendship/fellowship/relationship is restored. It is necessary because God commands us to love one another and if we have aught with anyone we must forgive them so that God will forgive us our sins. We are blessed to have Jesus Christ as our example of living by faith, walking by faith and as a example of love for one another. Jesus shows us by His life how to be a servant to God and to others. He is our prime example of how to live a Christian life.

Boy, do we need reconciliation! Because of sin and death that entered the world at the beginning, we have all inherited a sinful nature. Someone once explained to me that Jesus was perfect because He never, even for a minute of His life with us, swayed from walking according to the divine purpose God had for His life. He totally relied on God in all His words and actions, saying and doing what was intended by God. I sometimes hear people that think they're pretty good without Jesus and I think, my friend, you probably would feel like scum if you could see your life without Him.

Reconciliation is re-establishing a broken relationship. God is the Creator of the universe and, because we are part of this broken world, we have no relationship with Him. This is the whole reason why Jesus had to come and save us. He graciously stepped off His throne, willingly, for the whole purpose of saving us. He is the Good Shepard that we can trust to deliver us from the fear of (eternal) death. The more you get to know Jesus through the Word, the more you love and trust Him. It makes sense; did anyone ever stop to think how crazy it is that our species brings harm to ourselves, all other living things and are destroying the planet we live on? It's insane to think ANYTHING in the universe would EVER do these things! It does make sense when you realize there is a 'power' (Satan) that wants us to be destroyed. He knows that being comfortable with our selfish nature is another tally mark for him. Giving your life to Jesus is like waking up from the 'brain wash' and seeing how susceptible we are to our own destruction! Jesus compares us to sheep. If you find out some facts about sheep, you realize they are one of the only animals that virtually have no defense mechanisms; they don't even growl, they cry. If a sheep scares and runs off a cliff, hundreds will follow. Satan is the one who whispers to us , 'it's ok to give in to greedy, lustful, induging (etc.) acts; we deserve it." Jesus tells us the truth that we were made to help and take care of each other; if we have two, give one to someone who has none, feed the hungry, take care of the widow and orphan. We all have strayed from God's plan. We can trust our lives to Jesus who made Himself a sacrifice in our place. He went down to hell Himself and now holds the keys to hell and death. He offers to give us the same spirit that raised Him from the dead! He is the Good Shepard who leads His sheep to righteousness. He sat down at the right hand of the Father of the Universe and advocates for us in heaven. Without Jesus, we choose to stay eternally in the broken world.

Reconciilation means to come in agreement with the antagonist. Reconcilation is the ground that we base our relaion with God. We all sinned and come short of Glory of God. God is angry with all of us because of all our sinnful deeds. as a result , we have been under the judgement seat of His throne , and the verdict was Death. we have , in turn, have no single evidence to present to prove our innocency. God is just , hence, we should receive our vierdict. BUT GLORY TO HIS NAME , God has send His only beggotten Son to to take the verdict in our place. He has taken all the suffering and lead into death in terms of us to death , But raised the third day and seat in the right of his Father Throne. hence God made everyone who belives in His Son as his personal saviour justified.
