Obedience to God's law cannot save us because we are incapable of perfectly keeping it and fulfilling its righteous demands. The law is flawless, but the weak link is flawed humanity. Our rebellion against God's moral character and precepts has made us unqualified and unable to live out His perfection or overcome sin's natural consequence of death.

What does it take to save us? It took someone who is qualified and able to live a holy life, a life that made Him eligible to be a pure sacrifice who could die to sin once and for all. That victory resulted in the defeat of death. He then offered to extend the forgiveness of sin, restoration to the Father, and undefeatable eternal life He gained to every human who believes in who He is and what He has done. Hallelujah, what a Savior!

Q1. (Romans 8:3-4) Why can't obedience to the law save us? What is the weak link? What then does it take to save us?

The Law only has provisions to convict us when we sin not save us from those sins only God can save us from those and He appointed Christ to be our sacrifice so that we could have victory over our sin. The Law is only for sin to be free from sin someone had to die like the sacrifices of the lambs in Moses's day. We have Jesue the perfect Lamb of God.

Obedience to the law cannot save us because we are incapable of keeping the whole law perfectly. Our sinful nature or flesh is the weak link and the law does nothing to change that. What it takes to save us is to have power to overcome our sinful nature which Jesus has provided for us with his death and resurrection. Through him if we are one of his, we are given a new nature to overcome sinful temptations.

AWE! One of my very favorite chapters in the Holy Bible. Romans chapter 8. However I normally only use the King James Version, but this particular chapter I at one point had memorized by the New Living Translation. 1-17

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Q1. (Romans 8:3-4) Why can't obedience to the law save us? What is the weak link? What then does it take to save us?

Salvation comes through Jesus Christ. In other words, God's law, perfect though it is, cannot save a single sinner. It cannot make a lawbreaker obedient. No law can. Like a sacred signpost on the highway of life the law of the Most High can only point the way to life. It has no more power to change a sinner's character than a traffic sign has to move a motorist to his destination. The law can only point the way to right and wrong. That is all it can and was designed to do.

The purpose of God's law, in short, is to define sin, to make the sinner aware of what is wrong and what is right; and to point the way to salvation - to Christ!

Galatians 3:24 " Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith"

Q1. (Romans 8:3-4) Why can't obedience to the law save us? What is the weak link? What then does it take to save us?

We are incapable of obeying the law. The flesh (sin nature) is the weak link. In our flesh lies no good thing and the flesh can only obey its sinful nature.

It takes someone who can redeem us and reconcile us to God and that is the man Christ Jesus. 1 Peter 1:3.

God Bless!

Why can't obedience to the law save us?

The law could not produce holy living because of our sinful nature. On our own, we are without strength to obey the law. We cannot fulfill any of its requirements. We have no power within ourselves, apart from the Spirit, against a life of bondage to sin. However, we know that were the law failed, grace succeeded. Salvation is only through Christ Jesus.

Obedience to the law cannot save us because there is no provision for salvation in the law.

The weak link is our sinful flesh.

We can only be saved by our identification with Christ & what He did for us on the cross.

Q1. (Romans 8:3-4) Why can't obedience to the law save us?

The letter of the law would have to be obeyed perfectly, and that is impossible in our fallen human flesh. The law wasn't meant to save us, but to point out our sinfulness and the futility of trying to save ourselves through good works!

What is the weak link?

I am! My flesh.

What then does it take to save us?

Accepting on my behalf, the perfect sinless sacrifice of Jesus Who shed His own blood for me.

Why can't obedience to the law save us?

Obedience to the law cannot save us because we are incarnate and have inherited a sinful nature from Adam.

What is the weak link?

Our flesh is the weak link

What then does it take to save us?

The Holy Spirit through Christ is what can save us from the law of sin.

Q1. (Romans 8:3-4) Why can't obedience to the law save us? What is the weak link? What then does it take to save us?

The law was weak, but it was not the law but through the flesh, through the corruption of human nature by which we b ecame incapable either of being justified or sanctified by the law. We are unable to keep the law. The weak link is us, the flesh. What it takes to save us is the grace provided by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. The grace that will pardon us and create a new nature in us. One from the guilt and power of sin. Christ came to do what the law could not.

Q1. (Romans 8:3-4) Why can't obedience to the law save us? What is the weak link? What then does it take to save us?

The law is the Lord Law written to distingish between right and wrong. We are incapable of keeping the law becuase the law has no power accomplish this task. It is glorious and righteous word written to specify the truth.

The weak link is sin in us that we have no power to control in ourselves

What the law could not do, came in a person. This person was written about in the law" Isaiah 53

"All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah hath laid upon him the iniquity of us all.

Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath subjected [him] to suffering. When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see a seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand.

11He shall see of [the fruit of] the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant instruct many in righteousness; and *he* shall bear their iniquities.

In all Jesus through the holy spirit died for us to pay for our sins therefore he has given us power over sin with this knowledge and spirit.

Jesus is our savior and lord !

Q1. (Romans 8:3-4) Why can't obedience to the law save us? What is the weak link? What then does it take to save us?

The law serves only to guide the sinners to avoid committing transgression against God. But it has no power to renew the spirit. It has no power to control the sinful nature of human heart which opposes the spirit of God. God cannot speak to a heart that is sinful.

The weak link is the unregenerate and sinful nature of man.

It took God to send His Son Jesus Christ to take the punishment for our sins. Instead of us bearing the eternal condemnation, Christ died for us on the cross. It took the Son of God, who is without sin, to save us.

Obedience to God's law can't save us, because we cannot follow it perfectly, we cannot fulfill what the law is asking for us. our sinful nature is the weak link. to save us we need a man who is no sin, and that is Christ Jesus who bore our sins.

Q1. (Romans 8:3-4) Why can't obedience to the law save us? What is the weak link? What then does it take to save us?

As Good , Holy, and Righteous as the law was it was powerless to save us (Romans 8:3) states "For what the law was powerless to do in that was weakened by the sinful nature . God did by sending His Son Jesus Christ".

We are the weak link , the problem with the " Flesh" sinful nature when the unregenerated and sinful nature is in opposition to the Spirit Of God. The rebellious human nature , human value systerms that stand in opposition to God's value systerm.

Only Salvation through Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2) "For the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death". Jesus fully bore our sins on the cross.

Q1. (Romans 8:3-4) Why can't obedience to the law save us? What is the weak link? What then does it take to save us?

OBEDIENCE TO THE LAW CANNOT SAVE US, BECAUSE EVEN THOU THE LAW IS GOOD AND RIGHTEOUS IT IS POWERLEESS TO SAVE US

THE WEAK LINK IS THE FLESH, SINFUL NATURE, IT IS IN CONFLICT WITH THE SOUL.

PAUL SAID THAT JESUS CAME IN THE LIKE OF SINFUL MAN,RATHER THAN AS SINFUL MAN HIMSELF BUT JESUE HAD RHE BODY LIKE US AND WAS ACTUALLY CAPABLE OF SIN, BUT HE DID NOT. ONE CAN ONLY BE SAVE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD, THAT WAS WHY THE CROSS WAS NECESSARY, THE GAP BETWEEN HUMAN KIND AND GOD WAS NOW BRIDGE. WE CAN BE SAVE WHEN WE CONFESS JESUS CHRIST AS LORD OF OUR LIVES AND BEGIN TO WALK IN THE SPIRIT.

Q1. (Romans 8:3-4) Why can't obedience to the law save us? What is the weak link? What then does it take to save us?

As natural man, we are not capable of the obedience to the law that God requires of us. The weak link here is our sinful nature, everything else has served God's purpose perfectly. Our salvation comes only by the grace of God because of our faith in Christ and our acceptance of the substitutionary sacrifice of the Son as ransom for our sin.

Q1. (Romans 8:3-4) Why can't obedience to the law save us?

The law was not given to Israel for them to be saved by. The law was given to Israel through

a blood covenant, in an everlasting covenant God established with Israel.

The law was given for them to meditate on, instructing them to study the law day and night,

for in them were curses and blessings. The law is God's direction for man to live by; the

law is there for Israel to observe, take heed to do, to guard the law - for in their obedience, they would

find the way to prosper and find good success.

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Salvation was accomplished by the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, slain for our transgressions against God's righteousness, His law. The Lamb kept the law completely, It was not Israel's promise to God to keep His law that would bring their redemption, it was God's promise to Israel in the Abrahamic Covenant ratified through Jesus by which their sin was put away. (God knew no man could take back dominion that man lost, that is why God sent His Son)

What is the weak link?

We must not forget the powers that rule this world and how they obtained this dominion.

The leader is the same weak link that brought the first Adam down. The fight between the

spiritual and the flesh. God gave to each of us "faith" to believe. Adam had "faith" to believe in what God

commanded, but he chose death, the weak link instead.

What then does it take to save us?

It took God's love for us, seen in His gift - the Messiah, the Promise was sent.

Chirst came to do the will of God Almighty, to redeem those who would believe on He who sits on the throne, God:

Bringing life, not just to the Jew, but for the Gentiles too, we were once lost, without hope,

but thanks to Calvary, we now have the Holy Spirit, Power! to love God by, and to have life eternal with Him.

Obedience to the law cannot save us because our rebelious sinful nature is hostile to God and thus to the law and will therefore not obey the law.

Only faith in the Lord Jesus Christ can save us.

He bore our sin on the cross by taking the full penalty. His death meant our death to sin. He rose and lives in me thus giving me the power to trumph over sin.

The law only points out our weaknesses, shows us our flaws it can't save us

The weak link is our sin nature.

We need the Holy Spirit given to us by God through our belief in Christ Jesus to save us.

Why can't obedience to the law save us?

Besides the well established fact that in our fallible, human state (our weak link) we are incapable of obedience to the law, I think there is more to it than that.

Even if one kept the law perfectly it would not be enough because it appears that the law is just a tip of the iceberg! Jesus explained that our sin goes much deeper than our behavior; it's deep in our hearts:

"You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.'

"But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who say to his brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell." (Matthew 5:21-22)

What then does it take to save us?

The only way to be saved is to be joined and united with our Lord Jesus Christ.
