Q4. The Value of Christian Virtues

Recommended Posts

Q4. (Colossians 3:12-14) Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ? Why are they so important to the church? Why are they so important to non-Christians? Why are they so important in our homes?

Love forgiveness, forberance, humility, compassions these are all so important and relative in our lives because it is what sustain us in this sinful world! And as a sinner now redeemed by the blood I know all too well that these gifts (and they are gifts because we surly could not conjure these emotions on our own!) bring us closer to our Heavenly Father. They keep us in His love when others hurt us or say unkind things to make us feel unworthy.... We as followers of Christ are to edify other followers of Christ so that we may remain lifted in our day to day lives and when this happens its like a ripple effect it causes others to respond in a kinder and compassionate manner! I have tried it and it truly works! Sometimes in our day to day lives we are so busy we forget that even a kind smile to a stranger can make all the difference! Try it. I do When I am at a store for instance I will go out of my way to try and bring a smile to someone I meet on the steet by just smiling, and they are so taken aback that someone they dont know even took the time to say hello let alone smile they cant help but to return the kindness! And to top it off it feels so good! It is a shame that people are so caught up in life that they dont even have time to say hello or smile but I promise you next time you're somewhere try it you will find it works! After all God made us and deep down we all just want to be loved and be shown love and we as followers of Christ are the ones to get the ball rolling for His glory!!

Q4. (Colossians 3:12-14) Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ? Why are they so important to the church? Why are they so important to non-Christians? Why are they so important in our homes?

I think one answer covers all 4 aspects of the question: Christian virtues are the character of Jesus manifested to the church, to non Christians, in our homes. We are the hands and feet here on earth to reveal Christ to the world, and it's through His virtues being "made known" that others see the reality of God in a fallen world...when evil is repaid with kindness, for instance, the world takes notice that this is a supernatural occurrence. When a kind word turns away wrath, they notice. When generosity is extended, God's goodness is visible.

Of course right motives are key in all that we do, and He asks that we "know Him and make Him known". It's important to Christ, because His heart is love for people...saved and unsaved. He is blessed when His children obey His Word, and allow Him to reach out and touch lives through all that we do. The kingdom of God is furthered here on earth when we represent Him as He is, in the church, to non Christians, in our homes, and it hastens His soon coming!

Q4. (Colossians 3:12-14) Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ? Why are they so important to the church? Why are they so important to non-Christians? Why are they so important in our homes?

christian virtues are of great importance to christ because if we do not have christian virtues, we do not have christ living in us and to live for christ we have to live with christian virtues everyday of our lives as this is how christ works in us, for us and for others.

christian virtues are of great importance to the church because, here again, a christian church cannot co-exist if we the body of the church, do not have christian virtues living in us. if we do not have christian virtues in us then we do not set a good christian example for our church, to others who see a church through us and how we act sets a good or bad example of our church.

christian virtues are most important to non-christians as christian virtues in us will shine through and show non-believers that christ lives in us and we live for christ, how that affects a non-christian is of great importance as it can either make them want to be a christian or they will turn even further away and hate the church even more.

christian virtues are even more important in our homes, as our children see and act according to what they learn from us, as also a non-believing spouse too will learn from you if you live what you believe. setting the right example in your home, is most crucial as it determines how your loved ones will act, in the real world and teaches them that the strength and protection of jesus in their lives is very important, to their survival out in the real world.

Q4. (Colossians 3:12-14) Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ? Why are they so important to the church? Why are they so important to non-Christians? Why are they so important in our homes?

Colossians 3:12-14 - 12Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ? Simply, because He loves us and He wants us to be His servants.

Why are they so important to the church? The church represents Christ and we, as the church, must show the world that Jesus is truly the Savior and we have a mission to be servants to the world, whether it is in our neighbors or abroad.

Why are they so important to non-Christians? To show them that Jesus is truly the Son of God and that they should ask Jesus into their lives.

Why are they so important in our homes? Our families must experience God

Q4. (Colossians 3:12-14) Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ? Why are they so important to the church? Why are they so important to non-Christians? Why are they so important in our homes?

Christian virtues are so important to Christ because He wants us to live this way. He wants us to live in peace with everyone, including Himself and ourselves, so that we honor Him and also so that "the whole church will stay together in peace." (The Living Bible)

These virtues are important to the church because we are like "iron that sharpens iron." We are to encourage one another, worship together, which is hard to do when there are problems within the church, and pray with one another.

These virtues are important to non-Christians so that they can see how Christians react to problems and situations as opposed to how the world responds. When we practice good virtues in the face of adversity, those around us will be able to see the difference and perhaps want to have the same peace and spirit we have.

These virtues are important in our homes because the enemy will try to attack us from "within." This "within" is often our homes. We need to be strong in order to continue in our walk. Also, if there are children in the home, they can see how we handle situations and model their lives after our example.

Q4. (Colossians 3:12-14) Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ? Why are they so important to the church? Why are they so important to non-Christians? Why are they so important in our homes?

Christian virtues are important to Jesus because they are His way and they change lives. They are counter-world (Satan's way). Christian virtues are healthy. They are important to the church because they make for a healthy Christian community. They are important to non-Christians because they provide an alternative way -- a way of hope, health, and completeness on all levels. All Christian virtues are spawned out of love, i.e. forgiveness, patience, mercy, compassion, etc. create healthy churches and families.

Q4. (Colossians 3:12-14) Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ? Why are they so important to the church? Why are they so important to non-Christians? Why are they so important in our homes?

Christian virtues are what make life beautiful, they are what separate us from a degenerate life example that others witness. They protect us, guide us down paths of peace and joy. They make a church a place of love and not what you find in homes, offices, schools etc where Christ is not to be found. Christian virtues are the cement that binds families as one. They are the love, forgiveness and joy in a family. They are the white in a dirty world.

Oh do we need Christian virtues!

God Bless!

Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ? Why are they so important to the church? Why are they so important to non-Christians? Why are they so important in our homes?

Answer-Answer:Christian virtues are important,to Christ and Church because it is the manifestation IF INDEED a CHRISTIAN is a DISCIPLE of CHRIST.This is what Jesus has said in John 8:31-32-Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Jesus speak this to the Beleivers(already born again),but in context he said that believing is not enough,if we want to be his disciples we need to continue in his WORD,to study it,and LIVE IN IT,and onlt then we can know the TRUTH.

If we manifested the Christian virtues that Paul is talking, then indeed we have the FRUIT of the SPIRIT(Gal 5:22-23-But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law) a clear sign that indeed Jesus is living in the inside of us,as represented and lived by the Holy Spirit.

It is important in our home, because it is the first, the beginning of our true education. If This virtues will be practiced in our home,we will carry it through when we are in the outside effortlessly.

Q4. (Colossians 3:12-14) Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ? Why are they so important to the church? Why are they so important to non-Christians? Why are they so important in our homes?

Christian virtues reflect Christ. When we abandon these virtues, we give non-Christians a reason to reject Christ's teachings. They are important in our Church so those who don't believe will see Jesus in us and they may be drawn to Him. It's important in the home, because we need to be a good example to our children and their friends who visit.

Q4. (Colossians 3:12-14) Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ? Why are they so important to the church? Why are they so important to non-Christians? Why are they so important in our homes?

Col 3:12 You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

Col 3:13 Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you.

Col 3:14 And to all these qualities add love, which binds all things together in perfect unity.

The virtues spoken of is exactly who and what God is. They in their all make up our God. As followers of Christ and believers we want to become "like" Him therefore we need to take these virtues not only on the outside for others to see but deep down within our very beings to become the creations that God wanted us to be from the very beginning. Non-Christians are very good at seeing phonies therefore finding the chink that defaces what we say verses how we live. These virtues foster good and lasting relationship and are the basis on which most relationships are built. We want our family to have these virtues so that we can last and stand strong and grow.

Q4. (Colossians 3:12-14) Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ? Why are they so important to the church? Why are they so important to non-Christians? Why are they so important in our homes?

Christ is interested in matters of our heart and how we reflect his values to the world around us.We are created in His image and will become complete in our fullest glory when Christ returns. He wants us to set an example for the rest of His children To love, honor, serve, and obey Him to the best of our abilities. To use the spirituals talents He has given us!

His values should be at the core of every Christian church. The church is the body of Christ, with Him as the Supreme, Sovereign head of the church. It's people should reflect His values.Christ wants to bind His people together in perfect harmony, fellowship.

His values are important in every aspect of your life, in the church, in the home, in your heart! His values promote, harmony within the home. Love, commitment, trust, and respect which should be the core values of any human relationship.

Q4. (Colossians 3:12-14) Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ? Why are they so important to the church? Why are they so important to non-Christians? Why are they so important in our homes?

1. Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ?

I agree with you. They are the character qualities necessary for healthy Christian living. And we are to cloth ourselves with the character of Christ. "We are to adorn ourselves with that set of beautiful characteristics

that shows the beauty of Christ. After all everything we own or have or possess will never go to heaven with us but our character will.

2. Why are they so important to the church?

Learning to live in harmony matters to God. I learned form Pastor Rick Warren that living on earth is just the practice time before we get to heaven. Getting along with other Christians teaches us how God

would have us live and shows us what it will be like when we get to heaven living with only Christians.

3. Why are they so important to non-Christians?

Because we are to be a witness to others that they might know the love of Christ through our examples.

4. Why are they so important in our homes?

Home is the foundation of society. What we learn in the home will be displayed for all to see.

Christian virtues involve love, peace, and thankfulness. This is important to the church because the members are one body and must be united as one in Christ, showing love towards each other as well as being in peace with each other, and showing gratitude for God. They’re important to non-Christians because it is our character that can be the deciding factor on winning them over to Christ, and they’re important to practice in our homes because we want to teach our children to be loving, thankful, and at peace with each other and those they come in contact with.

Q4. (Colossians 3:12-14) Why are Christian virtues so important to Christ? Why are they so important to the church? Why are they so important to non-Christians? Why are they so important in our homes?

As Christ the Lord, being God, is unwilling to look upon human vices, it is important that we as his followers, his disciples have the same virtues as does Christ for he lives in us as the Holy Spirit and as such is offended by the vices we exhibit. As well there is the matter of setting forth to the world what a Christian should be so that people will ask us 'What is your hope" and we will respond "Our hope is in the Lord Jesus."(based upon 1 Peter 3.15)

These virtues are important to the church not only as an example but as well compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience are virtues and characteristics that build up the churches and our homes.(notes)

The result of Christian virtue s capped by love is peace.
