Q5. Christ and His Churches

Recommended Posts

5a)The exalted Jesus walking amongst the lampstands, tells us that Jesus is in the midst of His body the bride of Christ, the church,in his power and awesome nature, watching over us.

b)It reminds us that the exalted Jesus is concerned about his church, caring for his people and working through his people. He carries with him a 2 edged sword ready to bring judgement on those who do not chose to obey him or believe in him.We should seek to refect his light in our work and winess, bringing others closer to knowing Jesus.

c)Jesus is more than we can know or understand, our friend, our saviour by His grace, yet awesome in wonder and majesty through work of his Spirit, unchangable, immortal, indestructable and we should worship him in spirit and truth honouring his name  in how we live.

This shows us that Jesus walks among us today. He is in the center of His church. He is the reason for the church. He is the reason that we exists. He is the reason that we move forward and the reason that we live. He is our purpose. This shows us how much He loves us and what we mean to Him.

Q5. What is the significance of the exalted Jesus walking among the lampstands? (1:12-20) What does this teach us about the church? What does it teach us about Jesus?

It shows us that Jesus Christ is the head of the Church which God appointed to Him.  Each Church has an angel watching over it, and Jesus expects a lot from them.    The seven candlesticks represent the seven Churches in Asia.   It teaches that Jesus is indeed the Son of God and that God has given Him power over all flesh.  Jesus Christ died and is alive for evermore.

1.     What is the significance of the exalted Jesus walking among the lampstands?

I would think this to be that Jesus was proving that he was telling the truth when he said he would never leave us.

2.     What does this teach us about the church?

That Jesus and his church are all in one the same as he is as one with the Father?

3.     What does it teach us about Jesus?

Could it be that this means that we are the church and Jesus is the leader.

The significance of the exalted Jesus walking among the lampstands is His Lord over the church.

What does this teach us about the church? What does it teach us about Jesus?

This teaches us that the church is very important to Jesus.

What does it teach us about Jesus?

It teaches us that Jesus is present in the midst of the church.
