The Holy Spirit enabled the 70 elders to lead the people.

First it enabled them to prophesy and then gifted them to lead the people in justice.

He wished that all God's people would receive the Holy Spirit.  That is the big difference in living for yourself & living for God.  Think of how that same reliance on Jesus would affect Christians today!  Oh, yes!  We are, as Christians, indwelt with the Holy Spirit today!!

They receive a portion of the Spirit that was on Moses. They prophesied, but just that one time. As to why Moses longs for the Spirit to come on all God's people, doesn't say directly, but it would be s good thing

The Spirit coming upon the 70 Elders enables them to lead. The temporary manifestation was that they prophesied. Moses longed for the people to have this experience because they seemed to only know God secondhand - through Moses. They lacked this direct, personal encounter with God.

Q2. (Numbers 11:16-29) What enables the 70 Elders to lead the people?

It was the presence of the Holy Spirit in Moses that enabled him to lead the people and the same with the seventy elders who were chosen by Moses to support him in the ministry of leading the people.

What happens when the Holy Spirit comes upon them?

When the Holy Spirit comes upon them, they prophesy, even though it’s the only time they do that. And two out of the seventy, Eldad and Medad, who were not present among the seventy also prophesy, which tells us that Holy Spirit is omnipresent and is not limited to one place.

Why does Moses long for the Spirit to come upon all God’s people?

When the Holy Spirit came upon Moses, it was a life changing experience for him. His walk with the Lord became more intimate and God enabled him to lead the nation from bondage into freedom. But the people were always bickering and murmuring as they did not have an intimate walk with the Lord. So Moses wanted all of them to experience an intimacy that will satisfy them and continue to hope on Him even when they face difficulties on their way. This would also have an added advantage of lightening Moses’ job of leading them.

The Holy Spirit comes on the 70 Elders enabling them to lead the people.  They temporarily prophesy. Moses longs for the spirit to come upon all God's people so that the people can encourage, console, and build up the church -lead the church and administer justice.

The Lord speaks to Moses to gather the 70 elders at the tabernacle of the congregation, the Lord will come and take the Spirit on Moses and put on them, which enables them to bear the burden of the people that was upon Moses alone. Holy Spirit enables and equips people for His service.

When the spirit comes upon them, they begin to prophesy. Even two people in the tent received the spirit and begins to prophesy.

Moses longs the Spirit of God to come upon all people so that they might be filled, equipped for His service.

When the Holy spirit come upon them they start prophecies even these two who was not around the tabernacle but they was in there camps but the Holy spirit come upon in there camps. Because God knows they are nominated to help moses. Its no matter how much we are far from God but he is always with us. No matter we are standing in a church or in a park Holy spirit come upon us evey where. Becausa his eyes looking us from heaven. And moses wished that the Holy spirit come upon all the people then every one had a personal relationship with God as moses had.

The 70 elders were already leaders and officials, but when God wanted to use them to lead the people, He took of the Holy Spirit that was on Moses and put it on them.   When the Holy Spirit comes on them they prophesy.  Moses wants the Spirit to come on all people so that they can know God as he knows Him which would ease his burden of leading them.

Moses wanted the people to have what he had with God but the people keep on doing wrong in God eyes. So that was not going to happen. When the people obey God they were filled with the holy spirit but when God was not their the holy Spirit was gone from them and it was not good at all for them. The holy Spirit comes to those who love God and puts Christ in their lives.

Q2. (Numbers 11:16-29) What enables the 70 Elders to lead the people?

The Holy spirit from Moses placed on them

What happens when the Holy Spirit comes upon them?

When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied

Why does Moses long for the Spirit to come upon all God's people?

The more of God’s people with the Holy Spirit or gift of the anointing, the more to lead God’s people. It’s also the hope of today that all people will come to know Christ and be filled with his Holy Spirit.

In order to become effective in their role of assisting Moses in leading the Israelites, to take care of the daily routine activities and administering justice, the 70 elders received the endowment of the Holy Spirit.

As an initial evidence of the Holy Spirit being on them, they prophesied. I guess this would have identified them  as being set apart by God and should be respected as leaders.

Moses in humour wished that the Holy Spirit came on all of God's people so that they too could have the kind of relationship he shared with God. Maybe he felt that the task of leading them would have been easier.

Q2. (Numbers 11:16-29) What enables the 70 Elders to lead the people? What happens when the Holy Spirit comes upon them?  God Almighty sends the Holy Spirit upon the Elders to help Moses lead the people of Israel. Once the Spirit descended up the 70 Elders, they were empowered and equipped, they prophesied and helped lead and obey the commands of Moses.

Why does Moses long for the Spirit to come upon all God’s people? Moses realized that the power of the Holy Spirit made the people more compliant to his word, and easier to lead.

What enables the 70 Elders to lead the people?

The Holy Spirit

What happens when the Holy Spirit comes upon them?

They prophesie as a sign that the Holy Spirit is upon them, that they have been set apart to do the Fathers Will.

They receive spiritial strength, power, wisdom, knowledge and understanding, comfort, and a peace that surpasses all understanding. They receive all they need to help Moses lead the people.

Why does Moses long for the Spirit to come upon all God's people?

Moses appears to be drained from having to deal all their complaints and burdens. He longed for the Spirit to fall upon them all so that they too could receive strength, power, wisdom, knowledge and understanding, comfort, and a peace that surpasses all understanding.

So that they have an understanding of why they are where they are, and the wisdom to know what is needed for them to move forward.

For them to realise that it is their own actions and sins that have kept them in the wilderness, and not Moses leadership.

In order for them to have an intimate relationships with Our Father to know and to carry out His desire and will.

Love and Blessings to you all. Xx

i find it interesting that the spirit comes on us to varying degrees. Moses obviously had more "spirit" than the 70 elders, who in turn had more than the ordinary Israelites.

Spiritual assignments seem graduated in a similar way. It takes a lot of faith to do certain miracles, Jesus said, and it takes more faith to, say, prophecy, than to administer the tribes.

I also find it interesting that the Holy Spirit is not a constant presence, but comes and goes, perhaps as needed.

Did anyone ask for the Holy Spirit to come to them? Or, did it just happen. I can imagine seventy shocked elders who found themselves prophesying. No one seems to have written down what they said. And I wonder, too, if they were disappointed when the spirit lifted from them, returning them to a lesser amount and lesser status.

God grants to the elders a share of His spirit with which he has filled Moses but only for a brief length of time, enough time for them to be illuminated and

prophesy. It is worth noting that the elders shared the Spirit allocated to Moses

and only for a short time why were the elders not allocated the spirit of God in their

own right?I think that this verifys  that God puts his spirit into people for special

purposes.Moses was full of the Spirit to bring the Israelites to the promised land  the elders were part of the same purpose  and as such were part of the same

defining spirit

Question 2

The Holy Spirit that came upon the 70 Elders, enabled them to lead the people of Israel alongside Moses.

When the Holy Spirit comes upon them, they receive the grace and empowerment or anointing to bear the Lord’s burden together with Moses, and can provide leadership along with Moses.

Moses’ longing spelt out his desire to see God’s people to know God intimately and walk with Him in obedience to His will and precepts and statutes. They would not all the time complain and murmur against Him but out of an intimate relationship with Him, would believe Him and persevere in adverse circumstances knowing that God has their best interests at heart, has proven it in the past, and is able to make a way even where there’s none.   This intimate knowledge of the Lord would give them quietness and confidence in Him and rest to Moses!
